This page is a full-color version of the previous title page illustration. The vibrant colors bring the scene to life: Usopp's tan overalls, Luffy's bright yellow shirt, Zoro's black shirt with a red star, and Sanji's dark suit. A small, single panel breaks the blank page, showing a close-up of a man with distinct monkey-like features. This is Masira. He is looking downwards with a serious, intense expression. A small monkey is perched on his shoulder, mimicking his downward gaze. The rest of the page is entirely white, building anticipation for what he is looking at.

The scene opens with Masira's crew on their ship, screaming in panic, "BOOOOOSSSSS!" and "BOSS!". On the deck of the Going Merry, Usopp, Chopper, and Nami are frozen in absolute terror, staring at something massive off-panel. Usopp, sweating, stammers, "A DREAM? REALLY!?". Chopper, clutching his head, repeats frantically, "THIS IS A DREAM! THIS IS A DREAM! THIS IS A DREAM!". Nami covers her eyes and cries, "I DUNNO! I DUNNO! I'M NOT LOOKIN'! I'M NOT LOOKIN'!", adding in disbelief, "W-W-WHAT AM I EVEN... LOOKING AT, A CONTINENT!?". In the bottom panel, the immediate danger seems to have passed. Chopper, Robin, Nami, and Usopp (who has his overall straps down, wiping his brow) are shown relaxing. Chopper asks, "Did those three...". Robin observes, "Oh my...". Nami sighs with relief, a heart next to her speech bubble, "Whew... Thank god it's just a dream."

The terrifying reality is revealed: a colossal sea turtle has surfaced and is casually chewing on the sunken galleon ship. The massive creature's eye looks blankly ahead as it crushes the wood, accompanied by the sound effect "CRUNCH... CRUNCH...". Robin calmly observes the situation, noting, "Looks so, since you can see the air pipes sticking out of its mouth." Nami, horrified by the implication, asks, "Really get swallowed whole along with the ship?". Usopp, unable to handle Robin's bluntness, screams, "DON'T STATE IT SO BLUNTLY!". Chopper cries out in despair, "JUST STAAAA-AAAAAP!".

Panic sets in on the Going Merry. Nami angrily confronts Usopp, pointing at him and yelling, "YOU TOLD 'EM THEY'D BE COMPLETELY SAFE WITHOUT A SHRED OF EVIDENCE...!". Usopp, sweating nervously, admits, "I... guess you're right...". Chopper throws a massive tantrum, flailing his arms and crying, "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT FOR SENDING THEM TO THE SEA FLOOR OF THE GRAND FREAKIN' LINE!" and "AGHHHH! LUFFY, ZORO, AND SANJI WERE ALL EATEN ALIVE!". Nami swiftly punches Chopper on the head, leaving a smoking bump, and casually apologizes, "MY BAD, GUYS!". Robin calmly assesses the danger, "Well, this is to be expected. If we don't cut the lines...". Realizing the ship will be dragged down, Nami sprints to the winch mechanism and strikes it, declaring "GUILT-FREE!". Usopp yells at her, "THAT APOLOGY JUST AIN'T RIGHT...!". The line connecting the Merry to the diving suits snaps with a loud "TWANG!".

Chopper desperately turns to Robin, crying, "Robin! You're strong, aren't you!? Can't you do something!?". Robin calmly replies, "That's... far too big for me to handle. Then this whole ship will be dragged down under." Meanwhile, Masira's crew is frantically trying to save their boss. They yell, "THE BOSS IS STILL ALIVE! DON'T LOSE HOPE!" and "C'MON, BOYS! REEL IN THE ROPES! WE'VE GOTTA SAVE OUR BOSS! OUR PRIDE AS THE MASIRA PIRATES IS AT STAKE!". Usopp is moved by their loyalty and says, "...They're right! It's times like these that we've gotta show our teamwork!". Chopper screams at Nami, "AGHHHH! IT'S THE DEVIL!". Nami yells back, "ARE YOU THE DEVIL INCARNATE?". Taking charge, Nami orders Usopp, "Cut the ropes and secure our safety!". Usopp immediately salutes and complies, "AYE, AYE!". Nami yells his name, "USOPP!".

Usopp suddenly stops his frantic actions and looks up in confusion, uttering a surprised "Huh!?". The scene shifts to a wide shot showing the giant turtle floating in the water near the ships. The sky around them has suddenly and inexplicably gone completely dark, casting heavy shadows over the ocean. Chopper's voice cries out in the darkness, "WHA... WHAT'S GOING ON!?".

The crew is plunged into sudden darkness. Nami looks around, confused, "It's nowhere near nighttime right now!". Chopper, terrified, says, "It can't be... THE DAY TURNED TO NIGHT!?". Usopp screams into the void, "JUST WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!? LUUUUFFYYY! ZOOORRROOO! SAAAAAANJIIIII!". On Masira's ship, the crew panics, "We're gonna sink if we stay here! Let's hurry up and rescue boss!". Robin looks up with a serious expression and says ominously, "I-it's an... O-o-omen! They say monsters appear when day suddenly changes to night!". Suddenly, three figures fall from the sky and crash onto the deck of the Going Merry with a loud thud. It's Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, soaking wet. Chopper exclaims in surprise, "Luffy!?".

Chaos erupts on deck as the trio returns. Sanji immediately starts barking orders, "Lower the sail! We gotta get the hell outta here!". Chopper cries out, "ZORO! SANJI! Luffy! What's wrong!? Are you dead!?". Sanji replies, "He means trouble...!". Sanji continues explaining, "But once he saw the goods we collected from the wreckage, he went berserk! Like a mad gorilla!". Zoro adds, "'Cause they're both monkeys. He was getting along with Luffy for a moment, He must be some queer type of underwater creature. Turtle? No, I'm talking about the monkey we ran across underwater!". Usopp yells, "YES, WE NEED TO ESCAPE FROM THAT TURTLE ASAP! THANK GOD YOU'RE SAFE!". Usopp then notices something odd, "No wonder you guys managed to get outta there... Hm? Something's up with that turtle. It's mouth is hanging open...". Chopper asks, "What turtle? Turtle?". Sanji says, "But I'm surprised how you managed to escape the turtle's mouth.". Zoro clarifies, "That'd be Masira, the salvager!".

The giant turtle is shown with its massive mouth hanging wide open. Standing inside its mouth, looking furious, is Masira. Sanji is shocked, "WHOA! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?". Usopp yells at them, "NOW you notice!? YOU WERE SWALLOWED WHOLE BY IT WITH THE SHIP JUST NOW!". Chopper pleads, "Luffy! Help us get the sail down!". Luffy, looking completely oblivious to the danger, asks, "Why's it night all of a sudden?". Nami says, "Huh?". Luffy spits out a mouthful of water, "PFAHH!". Masira points angrily at the Going Merry and shouts, "YOU LOW-LIVES! HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!".

Masira leaps from the turtle's mouth towards the Going Merry, yelling furiously, "STEAL MY TREASURES AND JUST GET AWAY!? YOU THINK YOU CAN WALTZ RIGHT INTO MY TERRITORY,". Zoro prepares for a fight, drawing his sword and saying, "This is bad, we can't let him go berserk on our deck...! DRAW...". Suddenly, Luffy happily holds up a bag, grinning widely, "Hee hee! Found a whole bunch!". Nami's eyes light up with greed, "Treasure!? You found treasure!?". Masira lands on the deck but stops mid-attack, confused by their reaction, "...Hmm? What?". His crew on the other ship screams in absolute terror, pointing behind the Merry, "B... B... BOSS! W-W-W... WATCH OUT!".

The focus shifts to the crew's reactions. Luffy, Sanji, Nami, Zoro, and Chopper all freeze, their eyes widening in absolute horror as they look past Masira. They gasp collectively, "AGH-". The bottom panel reveals what they are looking at: behind the Going Merry, the giant turtle is dwarfed by something even larger rising from the water, casting a massive shadow over them.

A massive two-page spread (left side) reveals the source of their terror. Three unimaginably colossal, shadowy figures tower over the ocean, the giant turtle, and the ships. The figures appear humanoid but have wings and are holding giant spears. They are shrouded in thick mist and darkness, their sheer size making the giant turtle look like a tiny pebble in comparison. The scale is awe-inspiring and terrifying.

A close-up panel shows the upper body of one of the giant shadowy figures holding a spear, emphasizing its immense scale against the sky. On the deck of the Going Merry, Usopp, Chopper, and Luffy scream in absolute, unadulterated terror, their mouths wide open and eyes bulging, "MOOOOONNSTEEERRSS!".

The Going Merry is shown speeding away from the terrifying scene as fast as possible. Chopper, Usopp, and Sanji are frantically manning the oars and steering the ship, putting all their strength into escaping. The ship rides the rough waves, leaving the dark, misty area behind and bursting back out into the bright sunlight, leaving the giant shadows far behind.

The Going Merry is now sailing calmly on a bright, sunny ocean. Seagulls cry "COO COO" in the peaceful sky. The crew is trying to process the chaotic events. Nami, still shaken, says, "Yeah... Can't believe how huge those things were...". Usopp recounts, "And then some weird monkey shows up to salvage the ship,". Nami adds, "The log pose started pointing up...". Zoro says, "A huge galleon drops down from the sky...". Sanji smokes and concludes, "...Today's been one hell of a strange day.". Usopp agrees, "Yeah... That last bit sure gave me a scare...". Luffy says, "And finally, those monsters tens of times larger than giants appeared!". Robin rests her chin on her hand, summarizing, "Day became night...". Chopper adds, "But a huuuuge turtle swallowed the sunken ship whole...".

The crew is relaxing on the deck of the Going Merry, the tension finally broken. Suddenly, in a comedic outburst, Sanji and Zoro simultaneously kick Luffy high into the air. They yell angrily, "GET THE HELL OFF!". Luffy cries out in surprise, "GAH!", as he flies upwards. The rest of the crew watches the typical chaotic dynamic return.
