Yosaku and Johnny watch the fight with deep concern. Yosaku points out that their brother Zoro is in critical condition, noting that with his severe wounds and fever, he should barely be conscious. Johnny agrees that if Zoro's wounds reopen, he will surely die, but insists that now is not the time to worry, as Zoro is the only one who can cut through their current crisis. Meanwhile, Hatchan, the six-armed octopus fish-man, stands confidently with his six swords drawn. He taunts Zoro, asking what the matter is and pointing out how exhausted he already looks. Zoro, holding a sword in his mouth and looking deadly serious despite his visible fatigue, simply replies, 'That's none of your concerns.'

Johnny and Yosaku toss their own swords high into the air toward Zoro. Johnny yells for his brother to catch them, reminding Zoro that he asked for their swords. The two blades spin through the air. Zoro stands panting heavily, sweat pouring down his face. He thinks to himself in frustration, feeling like he might pass out at any moment. He had hoped that moving around would lower his fever, but it has only gotten worse. Yosaku calls out nervously that they've already thrown the swords, and Johnny warns Zoro to watch out. Hatchan prepares to attack, boasting that he will show Zoro the vast, unsurpassable gap in skill between them. He claims his six swords style can only be used by someone with six arms and a supple body.

Hatchan charges forward, unleashing his 'Tako-Ashi Kiken!' (Octopus Leg Miracle Swords!) attack. Johnny and Yosaku scream in terror as Hatchan thrusts all six of his blades directly at Zoro. In a swift motion, Zoro dodges the barrage and reaches up, grabbing the two spinning swords that Johnny and Yosaku threw out of the air. Landing gracefully, Zoro now holds three swords—one in his mouth and one in each hand. He declares, 'Three swords style...' Hatchan stops his assault, looking surprised and uttering a confused 'Nyuu!'.

Hatchan resumes his fierce assault, swinging all six swords in a rapid, overwhelming barrage. He challenges Zoro, saying he'd like to see him try to take on the barrage with only three swords. Zoro expertly deflects and parries the flurry of strikes, his three blades moving in a blur to block the six incoming weapons. Finding an opening, Zoro slips past Hatchan's guard and executes a technique, calling out 'Tourou Nagashi!' (Drifting Blade Wolf). He slashes past the fish-man, leaving Hatchan wide-eyed with shock.

Sanji watches the clash with a surprised expression, while Arlong glares silently. Zoro stands panting, having just delivered his strike. Suddenly, blood spurts from Hatchan's chest as the delayed effect of Zoro's attack hits him. Hatchan screams 'NYUUUUU!' in pain. Watching from the sidelines, Genzo, Nojiko, and the villagers are amazed. Genzo exclaims that Zoro got by, praising his incredible ability to block all six blades coming from every direction. Johnny and Yosaku cheer wildly with tears of joy. However, Hatchan quickly recovers, turning back toward Zoro with a furious expression. He yells, 'You've reeeaaaallly made me mad now!'

Hatchan glares menacingly at Zoro, swearing to kill him. He tells Zoro to think about it logically, insisting there is no way three swords can beat his six. Zoro looks back calmly and questions the word 'Logically...?' Hatchan smirks, claiming Zoro has made a big error in his calculation. Zoro responds by asking Hatchan what he is burdened with and what he desires at the limits of his strength. Zoro raises his swords, his expression fierce and determined, and declares, 'I may only have 3 swords, but the weight of our swords are completely different!'

A wide shot shows the chaotic scene at Arlong Park while Nojiko and Genzo struggle underwater to free Luffy. Genzo swings a hammer at the concrete block trapping Luffy's feet, but it just clangs uselessly against the stone. Genzo realizes it is too hard to swing underwater because of the resistance and that they cannot carry the rock either. Nojiko urgently tells him to hurry, noticing that Luffy has swallowed a lot of water and that if they do not get him out soon, it will be too late. Genzo wishes he had an oxygen tank, but knowing there is no time, he suddenly gets a desperate idea.

Hatchan scoffs at Zoro's comment about the 'weight' of their swords. He assumes Zoro means physical weight and calls him stupid, boasting that each of his six swords weighs 300kg, making them far heavier than any weapons puny humans use. Zoro smirks around the sword in his mouth, thinking to himself that he has nothing to say to an idiot like Hatchan. Hatchan gets into a bizarre stance, crossing his six swords in front of him, and announces his 'Six Swords Style... Octopus Pot Stance'. He then thrusts all six blades forward simultaneously, yelling 'Take this! New Year's...' Zoro braces himself and blocks the massive combined thrust with his crossed swords.

Hatchan completes his attack name, shouting '...Octopus Opener!' as he violently pushes Zoro's swords apart, breaking his guard. Zoro grunts as his defenses are forced open. Taking advantage of the opening, Hatchan immediately follows up with a brutal headbutt, yelling 'Body Slam!!'. The attack strikes Zoro directly in the chest, right on his massive, unhealed wound. Zoro's eyes widen in shock and pain as blood erupts from his mouth.

Zoro is sent flying backward from the devastating impact, coughing up a spray of blood. Johnny and Yosaku scream in horror, realizing he took a full hit directly to his severe wounds and fearing their brother is going to die. Zoro crashes violently into the rubble of Arlong Park, kicking up a massive cloud of dust. Hatchan doesn't let up; he leaps high into the air after Zoro, declaring, 'I won't give you a safe landing! Six swords style ultimate technique!'

High in the air, Hatchan begins to spin rapidly, turning himself and his six swords into a deadly, descending buzzsaw. He calls out his ultimate technique, 'Six Swords Waltz!', warning that anyone who touches it will be turned into mincemeat. He plummets toward the spot where Zoro crashed, yelling 'Time to dice you up!'. Hatchan slams into the ground with tremendous force, creating a massive explosion of debris and dust. As he impacts, a loud scream of 'GYAAAAAA!' rings out.

The onlookers, including Kuroobi and Arlong, watch the dust clear with expressions of shock. Kuroobi utters a confused 'Huh!?'. As the scene becomes visible, Hatchan is shown spinning wildly on the ground, but he is screaming in pain, 'ARGHHHHH!'. His swords are clashing loudly against Zoro's blades. Zoro is on one knee, holding his swords up to block the spinning attack, effectively stopping Hatchan's momentum and cutting into the fish-man's hands. Hatchan looks down in absolute shock as his ultimate attack is halted.

Hatchan is suspended in the air, balancing precariously on the tips of Zoro's swords. He realizes in disbelief that Zoro spun himself on top of the swords and ended up cutting Hatchan's hands, complaining that he isn't a circus performer. Johnny asks what just happened, while Yosaku worries that Zoro's wounds might have reopened from the earlier attack. Zoro stands up, blood dripping heavily from his chest wound and his swords. Johnny and Yosaku cry out, seeing how badly he is hurting and wishing they could switch places with him. Zoro glares at Hatchan and says, 'I really really really can't forgive you anymore! It's time to finish you off!' Hatchan drops back into his 'Octopus Pot Stance', declaring it's time to die. Zoro thinks to himself that even though his wounds are enough to make him faint, he cannot afford to pass out now.

Hatchan charges forward again, confident that his technique is 100% unavoidable, just like before. Zoro, bleeding profusely and panting, thinks to himself that he cannot afford to die. As Hatchan thrusts his six swords forward, yelling 'New Year's...', Zoro prepares his counterattack. He thinks about his goal to defeat the abnormally strong Hawkeyes, realizing he can't afford to be normal either. Zoro steps forward, his swords poised to strike, and utters the word 'Demon...'. Hatchan's eyes widen in sudden realization and fear as he lets out a surprised 'Nyu...'.

In a flash of movement, Zoro slashes through Hatchan's attack, shattering all six of the fish-man's swords into pieces. The broken blades fly through the air as Hatchan is left completely defenseless. Zoro stands behind Hatchan, his swords extended from the strike. He asks, 'Now do you understand the difference in the weight of our swords? I hope you're satisfied, octopus...!' Zoro then completes the name of his devastating technique, saying '...Tatsu...'.

Desperate and weaponless, Hatchan tries to counterattack with his bare fists, yelling 'Nyu! Takoyaki Punch!'. However, Zoro is already in motion. He unleashes a powerful, spinning upward slash, completing his attack name: '...Maki! (Dragon Tornado)'. The force of the strike creates a massive, swirling tornado of wind and energy that engulfs Hatchan.

The powerful Dragon Tornado sends Hatchan flying high into the air, blood spurting violently from a massive wound across his chest. Yosaku, Johnny, and Sanji watch in absolute shock. Sanji mutters, 'It can't be...', while Yosaku calls out Hatchan's name. Arlong glares furiously, unable to comprehend how Hatchan could lose to a man with only three swords. Zoro calmly sheathes his sword, telling the defeated Hatchan, 'Sorry but I couldn't care less about you. I have to hurry up and save Luffy...!'

Suddenly, Kuroobi appears behind Zoro and delivers a brutal punch to his back, yelling, 'Roronoa Zoro! How dare you cut down Ha...'. Before Kuroobi can finish his sentence or follow up his attack, Sanji leaps in and delivers a powerful kick to Kuroobi's face, sending the fish-man flying backward. Yosaku and Johnny call out, 'Brother cook.' Sanji lands and casually lights a cigarette, saying, 'You sure did punch me back pretty far.' Kuroobi recovers and looks at Sanji in disbelief, asking if there is actually a human in East Blue who can live after taking one of his punches. Sanji smirks around his cigarette and replies, 'I'm sure there're more than just me. Especially at a certain restaurant. It seems I'm being underestimated.'
