Tom's Workers

Inside Franky's secret hideout, Kiwi and Mozu look out from the upper level of the shipyard. They notice someone at the entrance. 'SOMEONE'S HERE... PROBABLY ZANBAI AND THE OTHERS,' one says. 'WHAT'S HE DOING HERE ALL THE WAY FROM THE "SEA SIDE"?' the other wonders. 'REALLY... HE USUALLY USES THE FRONT DOOR AT THE TOP...' They ring the entrance bell, which goes 'DING DING'. Looking down, they speculate, 'MAYBE HE BROUGHT THE STRAW HAT WITH HIM.' Below, Franky is talking to Usopp, who is sitting on a couch. Franky suddenly remembers, 'OH YEAH!! I FORGOT THAT WE WERE USING YOU AS BAIT TO LURE OUT THE STRAW HAT!!' Usopp, wearing his bandaged mask, replies crossly, 'THEY WON'T COME, WE'RE NOT FRIENDS ANYMORE. I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT.'

Kiwi and Mozu call out, 'ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT, WE'RE COMING!' but then pause, wondering, '---? WHY ISN'T HE COMING IN?' The bell rings again, 'DING DING'. Franky looks up silently, sweating. He turns back to Usopp and says, '..... HEY KID... YOU... SHOULD GO BACK TO YOUR FRIENDS.' Usopp replies quietly, '..... I CAN'T DO THAT NOW. I FOUGHT WITH THE CAPTAIN...!!' Franky yells, 'ALRIGHT! SHUT UP WILL YA!' as the bell continues to ring. Franky argues, 'AND THE PROBLEM WITH THE SHIP HASN'T BEEN RESOLVED YET...' Usopp insists, 'IT'S BEEN RESOLVED....!!' Franky retorts, 'IF YOU KNOW THAT THE SHIP CAN'T GO ON, THE PROBLEM IS ALREADY SOLVED!!'

Franky and Usopp engage in a heated argument. Franky shouts, 'LEAVE IT WITH ME. I'LL TAKE CARE OF IT HOWEVER YOU LIKE. THINK ABOUT IT!! I WAS JUST THINKING OF WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU... WHEN I WENT TO DESTROY THE SHIP.....!!' Usopp screams back, 'DON'T BUTT IN!!! THIS IS MY PROBLEM!!!!' Franky counters, 'YEAH, AND I'M SAYING I'LL SOLVE THE PROBLEM FOR YOU. BE GLAD!!!' Franky gestures dramatically, explaining, 'DON'T YOU GET IT!!? THIS IS TROUBLING FOR THE SHIP TOO!!! THE SHIP LIKED YOU ENOUGH TO SHOW ITS HUMAN FORM. THE DAY IT SINKS WITH YOU ON BOARD...' Usopp interrupts, 'IT'S NEVER GONNA DIE, Y'KNOW!? IT'S NOT GONNA GO TO HEAVEN!!! SO, IF YOU HAD A FRIEND WHO WAS DYING... YOU'D TELL HIM "IT'S OK, YOU CAN DIE NOW"!!?' Franky sweats and yells, 'YOU'RE CHANGING THE SUBJECT!' to which Usopp screams, 'I'M NOT!! THIS IS THE SUBJECT!!!' A small panel shows the figurehead of the Going Merry.

A sudden, heavy 'THUD!' echoes from above, interrupting their argument. Franky and Usopp both look up in surprise, gasping 'HUH!?' and '!?'. On the upper level, Kiwi and Mozu have been brutally attacked. Mozu lies on the floor bleeding from her head, while Kiwi is kicked down, her square hair disheveled. Franky screams in shock, 'MOZU!!!' and 'KIWI!!!' as a dark silhouette stands over them. 'BRO...' one of them groans as they lose consciousness.

Franky and Usopp stare in utter shock at the top of the stairs. 'WHO IS IT~~~!!!' Franky demands. A group of four figures dressed in black suits stands over the defeated girls. Kalifa, adjusting her glasses, says, 'THE GIRLS WOULDN'T LET US IN...' Blueno adds, 'SORRY TO INTERRUPT...' The intruders are revealed to be Kaku, Kalifa, Rob Lucci (with his pigeon Hattori on his shoulder), and Blueno.

Franky recognizes one of them, shouting, 'THE GALLEY-LA SECRETARY...!!!' in disbelief. Enraged by the attack on Kiwi and Mozu, Franky charges forward, screaming, 'WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE!!!' He throws a massive punch directly at Blueno's face. However, Blueno stands completely still, and Franky's fist hits him with a solid impact ('!!?') but does absolutely no damage. Franky's hand recoils in pain as he grunts, 'HN!!?'

Franky clutches his hurt hand, sweating in confusion. '..... BLUE ~~~~ NO ~~~~?!! WHAT'RE YOU DOING DRESSED LIKE THAT?!!' Blueno looks down at him coldly. Franky swings another powerful punch, screaming 'AUGH!!!!' but Blueno catches Franky's giant fist with a single hand, stopping his momentum completely. Blueno says, 'CHEEKY, AREN'T WE...!!! WHO DO YOU THINK I AM?' Franky struggles against his grip, shouting, 'WHO DO YOU THINK YOU'RE SELLING A FIGHT TO...!!!'

Blueno prepares to strike, pointing his finger forward with a 'SHFF' sound. Rob Lucci watches from behind, commenting, 'YOU'RE KINDA DIFFERENT TODAY. YOU'RE USUALLY THE SLOW BAR-TENDER...' Lucci then calls out, 'STOP IT, BLUENO!!!' but Blueno ignores him and executes a powerful finger thrust ('Shigan') directly into Franky's body. The impact sends Franky flying backward through the air, crashing violently into the ground with a loud 'ZAA!' slide.

Lucci reprimands Blueno, 'WHAT GOOD IS IT IF YOU KILL HIM NOW?' to which Blueno replies, 'IDIOT!!..... SORRY...'. Usopp is completely bewildered, sweating as he looks at them: 'WHAT...!? AREN'T THEY THE GUYS FROM THE SHIPYARD...!! UH!? HEY!! AREN'T YOU, LIKE, STRONG!!? WHAT THE HE...!?' Franky groans on the ground, 'WHY AM I GETTING BEAT UP BY...!!!' Panels show close-ups of the four intruders: Rob Lucci ('THE GALLEY-LA PIGEON BOY...'), Blueno ('BLUENO.....!!'), Kalifa ('THE SECRETARY...'), and Kaku ('AND EVEN "MOUNTAIN MONKEY"....'). Franky sits up, demanding, 'WHAT KIND OF GROUP IS THIS... YOU ALL LOOK SO SERIOUS. THANKS A LOT FOR ACTING SO SUPER... LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO MY LITTLE SISTERS. THEY'RE NOT EVEN READY TO WED YET. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT ABOUT THIS PLACE? THIS IS MY SECRET HIDEOUT!!!'

Rob Lucci stares coldly and says, 'I DON'T CARE ABOUT LITTLE THINGS LIKE THAT..... I'LL EXPLAIN BRIEFY... SO LISTEN. OUR LIVES IN THE CITY ARE ALL FAKE... WE'RE ACTUALLY SPIES FOR THE WORLD GOVERNMENT......!!!' Franky is shocked, gasping, 'THE WORLD.....!!! YOU!!?' Lucci continues, 'YOU PROBABLY KNOW THE MEANING OF THAT... AND THE REASON WE'RE HERE. FRANKY, WE ALREADY KNOW EVERYTHING. DON'T PLAY DUMB WITH US... IT'LL ONLY RESULT IN FURTHER IMPATIENCE. YOUR REAL NAME IS "CUTTY FLAM".' Franky's eyes widen in horror as Lucci adds, 'THE OTHER DISCIPLE OF TOM, WHO WAS SAID TO HAVE DIED 8 YEARS AGO!!'

Franky tries to maintain his composure, sweating as he says, '..... I DUNNO HOW YOU FOUND OUT... BUT GOOD FOR YOU... I'VE GOT A BAD FEELING ABOUT THIS...' Usopp looks on in confusion. A brief flashback shows Iceburg telling Franky, 'IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I'M TARGETED. TAKE THAT THING AND RUN AWAY FROM THE ISLAND... FRANKY.' Back in the present, Franky asks, 'SO... HOW'S..... THAT IDIOT ICEBURG..... DOING?' Lucci replies with a cold, unblinking stare, 'HE'S DEAD.'

Franky is completely stunned, his eyes wide with shock. Lucci continues, 'YOU TWO, COME OVER HERE. I HAVE SOMETHING TO GIVE YOU. FROM TOM TO ICEBURG, AND ICEBURG TO YOU, *IT* WAS PASSED ON... IT'S FINALLY CHECK MATE FOR OUR LONG SEARCH.' Lucci demands, 'NOW, FRANKY... GIVE US THE BLUEPRINT OF... THE WORLD'S WORST BATTLE SHIP... "ANCIENT WEAPON" PLUTON!!!' Franky stands defiantly before the four CP9 agents while Usopp watches from the side.

Flashback panels show Tom and young Iceburg talking to young Cutty Flam: 'FLAM? WHAT A WEIRD NAME. CAN I JUST CALL YOU FRANKY? WHATEVER.' In the present, Lucci says, 'ARE YOU DEAF!? I SAID... GIVE IT TO US, CUTTY FLAM.' Franky screams, 'I AIN'T GIVING YOU NOTHIN'!!!!' and throws a punch, but Lucci easily dodges it with a swift 'DODGE' movement. Franky's eye widens as Lucci prepares an instant counterattack.

Lucci strikes Franky with incredible speed and force. A massive impact sound 'GASH!! BAKI!!' echoes as Franky is blasted backward, crashing through the wooden floorboards. Lucci stands calmly in his black suit, his hat still perfectly in place.

Franky crashes into the ground below with a massive 'DOKYAAAN!!!' explosion of dust and debris. Usopp screams in terror, '...HUH!!?...!!! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED...!? I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING!!! HE'S TOO FAST...!!!' Usopp runs over to the edge of the crater, shouting down, 'HEY!!! YOU!!! ARE YOU OK!!?'

Franky lies unconscious in the rubble, coughing up blood ('KAFF'). Kalifa asks, 'WHAT'S WRONG, LUCCHI?' Lucci replies, '.......... SEARCH IT. THE PERFECT PLACE TO HIDE A BLUEPRINT.' He looks around the dirty room, wondering, 'WHAT... IS THIS DIRTY LITTLE ROOM?' Blueno points to a wooden sign on the wall, saying, 'A NAME-PLATE.' The sign reads 'CUTTY FLAM'. Lucci repeats, '"CUTTY FLAM".'

Blueno reaches out to touch the sign. Franky, barely conscious, growls, 'DON'T TOUCH IT... IT'S IMPOLITE... TO GO TROMPING THROUGH OTHER PEOPLES' MEMORIES...' Other nameplates are shown: 'ICEBURG' and 'TOM'. Franky says, 'THIS IS THE PLACE WHERE I GREW UP. THE SHIP-BUILDING COMPANY, TOMS WORKERS. THE WAREHOUSE IS A WRECK, BUT THE WORLD'S BEST SHIP-BUILDER... LIVED HERE.' A flashback shows the happy days of Tom's Workers: Tom (the giant fish-man shipwright), young Iceburg, young Cutty Flam (Franky), Kokoro, and Yokozuna the frog. The sign 'TOMS WORKERS' is carved into the wood.
