Inside the chaos, armed men yell, "AND, UNBELIEVABLY, INSIDE... IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ENTER IT!" A monstrous figure roars, "THEY'RE SLAUGHTERING EACH OTHER IN COLD BLOOD!" while others scream in panic. The panel fills with frantic motion lines and the sound effect "わああああああああ" as the slaughter intensifies.

Panic spreads through the caged town. A man screams, "GYAAAH! OI! DON'T RUN!" while another shouts, "SAVE ME! AIN'T THERE ANYTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT THIS CAGE!I DORRY! WHERE'RE YOU GOING!I" A sign reads "BARRELS PIRATES' HIDEOUT." Someone yells, "DORRY! YOU PATHETIC, DRUNK FOOL..." while a voice warns, "WE'RE BEING INVADED! IT'S THE DONQUIXOTE FAMILY!"

Donquixote pirates loot the burning ruins. One laughs, "THESE IDIOTS SURE ARE ROLLIN' IN THE DOUGH!" while another warns, "HEY, HEY-, CAREFUL WITH THE MERCHANDISE!" A voice calls, "THIS IS THEIR TREASURY-IN!" and a gunshot rings out with "GYAAH!" A lion-masked figure orders, "WHEN YOU IDIOTS FINALLY TAKE YOUR THUMBS OUT YOUR ASSES, GO AND LOOK FOR CORAZON!!" as a small girl with a transponder snail reports, "TRANSMISSION, CATCH!" Narration reads, "IN THESE BURNING RUINS!" A fallen man lies amid debris while someone notes, "THERE AIN'T NO WAY THERE'S ANYONE LEFT... SO THE MARINES ARE PROTECTING SOMEONE..."

Doflamingo's subordinates react in shock as an explosion rocks the area. "DOFFY! IT LOOKS LIKE WE'VE FOUND CO-RAZON!" someone shouts. In a hidden spot, Law, wrapped in his feathered coat and hat, whispers urgently, "They ain't gonna find you, so just sit tight! This is their blind spot." Corazon remains silent and tense. Suddenly a massive "BOOM BOOM" erupts nearby. "CORAZON RAN THIS WAY!" a voice yells. Law's eyes widen in alarm as the blast shakes the ground and debris flies. "WHA-!I IT WON'T BUDGE! SOMETHING'S BLOCKING IT..." Law strains against an unseen force while the search closes in.

Gladius grabs Corazon by the collar and slams him against a pillar. "DISRESPECT YOUNG MASTER, WILL YA!I" he snarls, landing heavy blows with "CRACK" and "SNAP" sounds. "GLADIUS, QUIT IT! HE'LL DIE BEFORE YOUNG MASTER EVEN GETS HERE!" someone pleads. Corazon coughs blood but retorts, "NOT LIKE I HAD ANYTHING... I WANTED TO TALK TO YOU IDIOTS ABOUT ANYWAY!" Gladius continues the beating. "HE'S GOT QUITE THE RAP SHEET!" he growls. "BEHEHE! I DON'T GIVE TWO SHITS! THIS LITTLE FUCKER... INTENDED TO DRAG ALL OF US INTO AN ALL OUT WAR WITH THE MARINES TODAY!" Corazon lies battered on the ground as footsteps approach. "YOUNG MASTER! OI, YOUNG MASTER'S HERE!"

In a snowy, ruined town square filled with rubble and treasure chests, a voice calls out, "CORAZON." The scene shows the aftermath of destruction with figures standing amid the snow. "IT'S BEEN A LONG SIX MONTHS..." someone remarks. Doflamingo stands with a stern expression while Corazon lies collapsed nearby, breathing heavily. Close-ups reveal Doflamingo's intense glare and Corazon's bloodied, gasping face with "HAA- HAA-" and "<COUGH> <COUGH>" sounds escaping him. The cold wind blows through the devastated area as the confrontation builds.

Corazon raises a den-den mushi and declares, "MARINE CODE 01746... I AM A MARINE. DONQUIJOTE FAMILY CAPTAIN DOFLAMINGO, IN ORDER TO STOP THE CALAMITY YOU WERE PLANNING TO UNLEASH ONTO THE WORLD... I INFILTRATED THE FAMILY. I AM MARINE HQ LIEUTENANT COLONEL ROCINANTE..." Doflamingo listens in stunned silence. Corazon continues weakly, "I DIDN'T WANT YOU TO HATE ME, YA SEE..." as he kneels in the snow. "!I" Doflamingo reacts with shock. "SORRY FOR LYING...." Corazon says, his voice fading amid the falling snow and debris.

In the ruined plaza, a spiky-haired subordinate demands answers. "ANSWER ME TWO QUESTIONS! WHERE IS THE OPE OPE NO MII AND WHERE IS LAW!I" Another figure snaps, "ENOUGH WITH YOUR SHITTY MONOLOGUES." Close-ups show shocked faces as someone shouts, "WHAT THE HELL IS HE GOING ON ABOUT!I" A voice adds, "DOFFY ALREADY KNOWS ALL THIS!" The spiky-haired man reveals, "HE'S A DEVIL FRUIT USER NOW. I'M GOING TO DISPEL BIRD CAGE!" A close-up shows a sweating face thinking, "DAMN, LAW... SOMEONE REALLY MUST BE KEEPING AN EYE OUT FOR YOU." A voice calls out, "CORA-SAN!I ARE YOU REALLY GONNA BE OKAY!I" The cloaked figure warns, "IN OTHER WORDS, IF YOU JUST STAY PUT RIGHT HERE, YOUR CHANCE TO MAKE IT OUT OF THIS CAGE WILL DEFINITELY COME! DON'T MISS IT! WHAT ABOUT YOU, CORA-SAN!I" The cloaked figure continues, "CAN'T HELP BUT BRING IT BACK TO THEIR OWN SHIP. PIRATES ARE THE TYPE OF PEOPLE THAT, WHEN THEY SEE A TREASURE CHEST, LISTEN UP, LAW!"

The cloaked figure thinks, "HE'S OBVIOUSLY GOING TO LOSE HIS SHIT, BUT HE WON'T KILL ME. I'M DOFFY'S ONE AND TRUE BROTHER." A close-up of the spiky-haired man shows him saying, "STUPID... DOFFY'S AFTER... YOU AND THE OPE OPE NO MI'S POWER." The cloaked figure replies, "Oh. OKAY." He activates his power with "CALM" and "TAP", making sounds disappear. "LAW AIN'T GONNA OBEY YOU, DOPPY," someone declares. Doflamingo roars, "THIS ISN'T WHAT YOU PROMISED, CORA-SAN! YOU SAID YOU WOULDN'T BE KILLED!" Another panel shows a scarred face hissing, "...THE POSTER CHILD OF ABSOLUTE DESTRUCTION! THERE'S NOTHING HE COULD POSSIBLY LEARN FROM YOU..." Doflamingo's eyes bulge as he screams at the top of his lungs, "HE'S FREE! JUST LEAVE HIM BE ALREADY!!!" with sweat and veins popping across his face.

Gunshots ring out with massive "BANGH!!!" sound effects as silhouettes clash on a rooftop. Doflamingo fires wildly while Law's dark figure stands tall. In close-up, Doflamingo's face contorts with fury and panic, teeth bared. A voice yells, "WHOA! HE LIT HIMSELF ON FIRE WHILE TRIPPING!" Another shouts, "ALRIGHT, I GET IT! YOU SLEPT LIKE A BABY, DIDN'T YAI" Doflamingo bellows, "WHO'D YA SAY WAS A MONSTER!I I DARE YOU TO REPEAT THAT!" as impact lines and debris explode around the scene. Law remains a silent, burning silhouette amid the chaos.

Corazon's voice echoes: "THE MAGIC I'VE PLACED ON YOU WILL BE DISPELLED AND YOUR VOICE... YOUR CRIES WILL ECHO ACROSS THIS ISLAND... NOT YET... I'VE GOTTA HOLD ON FOR JUST A LITTLE WHILE LONGER... IF I BITE IT NOW..." Law stands on the shore as Corazon continues, "FAR AWAY... FAR, FAR AWAY... UNNOTICED... QUIETLY... BRING THE BOAT THIS WAY. WALK, LAW." A close-up shows Law's intense eyes. Corazon's final words ring out: "NOR YOUR SHORTENED LIFESPAN. NOTHING WILL BIND YOU ANYMORE... YOU GOTTA BE SHITTING ME! THAT'S TSURU'S BATTLESHIP! NOTHING WILL RESTRICT YOU ANYMORE. NOT THE IRON BORDERS OF THE WHITE CITY..."

Law screams in agony with "AAAAA AAGG HHHH!" and "UWAAAAA AAAAAAH HHHHHHH" as tears stream down his face. Corazon's silhouette slumps with "SFX: SILENCE" and wheezing sounds. Flames erupt with "FIRE!" and massive impact effects "ドォォン!!! ドン!!!" shake the island. A ship labeled "JONG" explodes nearby as someone yells, "SHIT, THAT WAS CLOSE!" The final narration box reads: "A PRESERVED LIFE AND ITS MELANCHOLY, INTO THE DISTANCE DISAPPEAR..." marking the end of the chapter.
