What's Done Is Done

Ryugu Palace is in chaos after the Straw Hats have overpowered the guards and chained King Neptune. Nami snaps, "I quite agree. You should show a little penitence!" while Brook adds, "You're the ones who started this fight, not me!! You're as guilty as I am!!" Usopp is horrified by the scale of the result: "How did a simple day of sightseeing and shopping end up like this...?" and screams at Zoro, "I was planning to make a run for it!!" Zoro refuses to be blamed: "I don't care what you say... This was one step too far!!" In the main hall, Brook complains, "Well, there's nothing I can do about it now, is there?!!! So quit yelling!!!" Nami demands, "What kind of excuse is that?!! 'So I stopped by Fishman Island and just happened to conquer the royal palace'?! What kind of monster pirate are you?!!" Usopp says, "You think I should've just let 'em beat us?!" and "I told you a million times we should just run!!!" Brook asks, "How do we run from a place like this?! And besides, Luffy's not here!!" Someone notes, "That's a good point!! Where has he got to, anyway?!" and Nami looks over the bound Neptune while asking, "What have you doneee?!"

Nami tries to turn disaster into logistics. She asks Neptune directly, "Where is the treasure stored?" and explains, "We're in a real hurry! So will you please just tell me where?" A guard says, "That's right! We've gotta find out where Luffy-" but Nami cuts through the noise, ordering, "Ohhh, stop that!!!" When someone questions her, "Huh? ...Why?" she snaps, "Quit the innocent act, too!! Grow a conscience already!!!" Brook tries to reassure himself and the others: "Fear not, my friends!! When things look tough, you just gotta sing a song and cheer right up! Whuppic-mon!!" then launches into cheerful nonsense, "It'll work ou uut! It'll work ouuuut! And even if it doesn't, someday you'll die anyway! Yeah!!" Usopp shouts, "You can shut up too, Soul King!!" At Neptune's feet, the royal soldiers are devastated. One asks, "Your Majesty...!! Are you all right?!" Another laments, "To think that King Neptune, warrior of the sea, could be reduced to this...!" Neptune apologizes from inside the chains: "Mnnnnhhh... With my back playing up like this, I can hardly fight at all, age is a terrible thing... I have failed you all...!! My apologies!!"

The captured palace officials warn the Straw Hats that the situation will only become worse. One says, "You fools... when Prince Fukaboshi, Prince Ryuuboshi and Prince Manboshi return... when you are faced with the three champions of the Neptune Army...!! Oh, I sincerely doubt any of you will leave this place unscarred!!!" Another guard grumbles that if they had filled the castle with water the Straw Hats would have had no chance, but "instead, all the water has been removed...!!" and concludes, "At any rate... we can't stay on Fishman Island now." The crew considers departure. Zoro asks, "Where's the Sunny? We'll have to round everyone up and set sail again." Usopp remembers, "But the Sunny's coating was torn clean off when we entered the island!" Nami adds, "And the Log Pose has been acting strange ever since we got here! It hasn't shown the slightest signs of settling..." Neptune mocks them for not understanding the New World, but Nami uses the chance to ask, "Hm? We can't use this? What do you mean?" Neptune, still bound and resentful, says, "I might tell you if you untie me." A loud "SFX: DING DONG" interrupts them, and the palace cries, "Ahhh...!! That must be Prince Fukaboshi!!"

Outside the palace, the princes arrive and call through the speaker. A voice asks, "Hello. Who's there?" and the trapped officials shout, "Prince Fukaboshi!!" "Prince Ryuuboshi!!" "Prince Manboshi!!" and "Help uuuus!!!" Someone also cries, "Akkamanbo! Fuurifuri!!" Fukaboshi hears the alarm and identifies himself: "...It's me!! Fukaboshi!!" From the outside he demands, "What is happening within the palace?!" and orders, "I request that the connecting way be lowered... and the main gate and palace gates be opened at once!!" Manboshi and Ryuuboshi, hearing the chaos, wonder if Neptune and Shirahoshi are safe: "Why, dear brother...!! Some kind of incident seems to be afoot-la-ti-oo!" and "Sure sounds like it! Are father and Shirahoshi all right?!" The royal side still thinks help has arrived, but inside the palace the Straw Hats are the ones holding the leverage.

Zoro answers the princes through the communication system. Fukaboshi asks, "What happens if we do?" and Zoro replies coldly, "Sorry, but we can't do that!" Nami yells at him, "Gahhh!! What are you saying now?!! Just tell them the truth!!" while Usopp pleads, "Could you at least tie me and Caimie up as well?! At this rate, we'll be treated as accomplices!!" and Caimie cries, "Zoro-chin, you're being scary!!" Fukaboshi realizes who is speaking: "Am I speaking to a member of the Straw Hat Pirates?" When he names Zoro as "the three-sword-wielding warrior of the Straw Hat Pirates, with a bounty of 120,000,000 beli!! The terrible pirate hunter..." Zoro cuts in, "Zor!!" and snaps, "It's 'Zoro'!!!" The princes cry, "Father!!" as Zoro reveals the hostage situation: "You heard that, right? We have a large number of hostages, your father included. If you want them back alive, you'd better start preparing us a way out of here!! Our demands are simple. We want you to bring our pirate ship, the Sunny, fully coated, as well as the rest of our crew - one creepy lady, one robot, one tanuki, and one pervy kappa." Brook protests, "P - pervy kappa, he says...!! Yohoho!!" while Usopp says, "Zoro! Don't forget one billion beli!!" and Nami adds, "Quit it already!!!"

Fukaboshi negotiates from outside, explaining that the connecting way is the only entry and exit: "...There is no other way. Even we cannot overcome this obstacle. The connecting way is the only means of entering or leaving the palace... All other possible points of entry are securely sealed with many layers of bubbles. The palace is impenetrable." He agrees, "Very well... we will arrange for you and your crewmates to leave this land as quickly as possible. In return, you had better return every last hostage to us unharmed!!!" Then he changes the matter: "I have a message for Straw Hat Luffy from former Shichibukai 'Knight of the Sea Jinbe'." The palace reacts to the name: "From Jinbe...!!" "Boss Jinbei!" and "Jinbe..." Brook warns Zoro, "Jinbei may be a pirate, but he commands a lot of respect on this island!!" Zoro answers, "Now you mention it, he did say he was friends with Jinbe...!!" and Brook adds, "Luffy isn't here right now, but we'll pass the message on. Let's hear it." Fukaboshi says the message has two parts: "The first message is... 'Do not fight with Hordy'." The second is, "I await you in the Ocean Forest!!!" Zoro repeats, "...Ocean Forest? Hordy?"

At Coral Hill on Fish-Man Island, news spreads that the Straw Hats have seized the palace. Someone cries, "They've gone and done it!! The Straw Hat pirates... have taken the royal palace!!!" The crowd is stunned: "What?!" and "What the heck are they after!!" One bystander cannot believe the accusation: "It can't be...!! They seemed like such nice people...!! They wouldn't do that!" But another says, "They're the ones who kidnapped the girls from the cove..." and someone else adds, "...and they're the ones who showed up in Madame Shirley's terrible vision...!!" A third insists, "Looks like the fiends are finally showing their true colours!!" At the same time, the rumors say two Straw Hat crew members are hiding behind the Mermaid Cafe and guards have gone to capture them. The page immediately proves how wrong and dangerous rumor can be: Sanji, still recovering and furious, erupts from the crowd with a spinning strike while Chopper shouts "Kung Fu Point!!!" and bodies fly as the guards scream, "Hyah hh!!" and "Yahh hhh!!"

Sanji clears the path with a violent spin, yelling, "Outta my waaaay!!!" as guards scream, "Guah hhh!!!" and "Hiyaa aaaah hhh!!!" Chopper watches in alarm: "Whew www!! Sanji's still recuperating!! None of you touch him!!" Then he notices the transformed Chopper form has startled people and explains, "It transformed!!" Sanji turns on the locals: "What do you mean 'come to the Ryuuguu Palace?!' You came to arrest us, didn't you?!" A guard protests, "Hey, you guys... Sanji!! You shouldn't be out of bed!!" but Sanji has heard enough to act. Someone says, "This 'royal palace' place of yours..." and Sanji asks, "Is that where she is?" When told, "I'm talking about... the mermaid princess..." and "I... indeed she is!! What of it?!" Sanji decides instantly: "I'm going." Chopper warns him, "Don't you ever learn?! If she's cute, the sight could kill you!!" Sanji answers with total commitment: "Dead or alive."

Back at the Royal Palace's Shell Tower, Luffy is already pushing Shirahoshi toward action. He calls, "C'moon! What are you waiting for?!" and declares, "We're going!! Outside!!" Shirahoshi is terrified: "...But I simply cannot, Luffy-sama!! It would be truly unthinkable to..." Luffy points out that she was the one who said there were places she wanted to go, adding, "It's not good spending ten whole years cooped up in this place! I know it'd drive me crazy! I'm taking you out!! As thanks for the food!!" Shirahoshi admits that leaving would cause trouble for everyone in the palace, but Luffy asks again, "Where do you want to go?" After a long, nervous pause, she finally says it clearly: "...The Ocean Forest." Luffy listens, surprised but direct: "Well... Hm?"

Shirahoshi immediately loses her nerve. "Ahhh!! N-no b-but... that is just a dream... in truth, I could not possibly do something so outrageous as leaving the tower... I... I... aahh...!" Luffy snaps at her panic: "Why does just saying where you wanna go make you start crying?!" She apologizes, "I... I am sorry... it took all of my courage just to..." then begs, "P... please do not get angry with meee!! I'm scared... Luffy-sama!" Luffy, exasperated, says, "Man, you can be a real pain..." Shirahoshi repeats, "A... a pain...? I... I...!" and quickly tries to calm herself: "Ahhhh, all right, all right! I'm sorry!!" Then the tower suddenly fills with a tremendous sound. Luffy asks, "What's that noise?!!" Shirahoshi cries, "Aaahh!!" and she says, "It's really loud...!!!" Luffy recognizes the threat: "Is that guy throwing stuff at you again?!" and judges Vander Decken bluntly: "I don't think I like him!!"

The palace shakes under a new impact. Someone shouts, "What is this?!" and another, "What is this noise?!!" The chained Neptune understands at once: "...Could it be... Decken's spears?!! The Shell Tower!! Shirahoshi is in danger...!! Are the guards with her?!" A guard answers, "No... all the guards have been captured!!" Neptune orders the Straw Hats, "You! Pirates!! Go and check on the princess' safety!!!" Zoro questions him, "Huh?! What're you talking about?" and Neptune explains that revealing Shirahoshi's existence to the outside world is unavoidable now: "There is no other choice under the circumstances!!" He silences the room and says the truth plainly: "Shirahoshi is my only daughter!! And for certain unfortunate reasons, her life is under constant threat!!! If anything were to happen to my daughter because of you... I would hunt you down to the ends of the ocean!!" Zoro resents the order: "Why do I have to take orders from my own hostages...?" but Neptune directs him: "Shell Tower is at the northeastern edge of the palace!! You must hurry!!"

Brook's reaction to the princess crisis is immediately indecent. He asks, "Would you happen to mean the mermaid princess?!" then lunges forward: "Allow me to be of service, Your Most Eminent Majesty!! And by the by... would it be possible for me to see her panties?!" Usopp screams, "Hold it, Broooook!!!" while another voice says, "Ahhhh...!! I am at a loss for words! The fiend has rushed off with the most repulsive of objectives in mind!! Now the princess is in even more danger!!!" A palace official calls after him, "Wait one moment, skeleton!!! M - monster...!!" Neptune begs, "I do not ask that you untie me!! But please, at least take me with you!! The Shell Tower is my responsibility!! If anything were to happen to the princess... I would sooner die a thousand deaths!!!" The left minister, recognizing Sanji's danger too, cries, "Sanji-san, I fear I may beat you to the mark! Yohohoho!" Brook's joke triggers outrage: "Such insolence!!" and "P - predosterous!!!"

Inside Shell Tower, Shirahoshi finally admits the depth of her wish. She says, "I have always longed to visit the Ocean Forest... For all these ten long years... but everyone always warns me... that it is far too dangerous for me to leave the tower and of course the thought scares me terribly..." She asks Luffy, "Luffy-sama... will you really... take me out of this place?" and then, more importantly, "...You truly promise to protect me?" Luffy answers simply, "Yeah." When Shirahoshi begins crying from happiness, he tells her, "Yeah. Leave it to me. It'll be fine!" and then panics when she sobs, "Uwaaah hhhhh..." Luffy warns, "Whoa, whoa!! If you start crying, I might change my mind!! Besides, it's you who's gonna be taking me out, really!! I can't swim, you know!!" Shirahoshi apologizes again, saying she was just so happy. Luffy calls her "a big crybaby" and "a scaredy-cat, too!!" but keeps smiling because he has a plan: "Still, you're so big, if you leave the tower everyone will notice right away! ...Indeed... I am sorry... Don't worry! I've got a reaaaaal good idea!! Shishishi shishi!!"

Outside Shell Tower, the aftermath looks disastrous. People shout, "Mermaid princess!! Are you all right?!" and "S - skeleton!! Take a look at the tower walls!!" Brook sees the damage and says, "...This is... outrageous...!!!" Someone realizes, "It was not the usual knives or axes flying at the tower after all!!" and then the horror becomes clear: "That was the sound of human pirates crashing into the tower walls!!!" The guards fear Vander Decken has escalated: "What kind of monster could do this...?!! Vander Decken, you fiend...!!" Brook reacts, "Ehhh?! V... Vander Decken?!" Around the broken walls, injured bodies lie everywhere. A guard reports that the enemy force has invaded the palace, while another says, "This is... some kind of ambush...?! An attack...!! The king is in danger!!!" Brook observes, "But wait... they are starting to recover...!!" Yet the situation remains dire: "This is not good at all... Could it be that this impenetrable palace... has been invaded by enemy forces?!!"

The chapter ends with Luffy's escape plan already in motion. While the palace panics that "The princess is in dangeeeer!!!" Luffy tells Shirahoshi, "Those nasty sounds have stopped now, huh?" and she answers, "Y... yes!!" He says, "Let's go, scaredy-cat!!" and she whispers, "I am counting on you, Megalo!!" The shark answers with a startled "Sha!!" Then Luffy drives the plan forward: "Full speed ahead, Sha-aaark!!!" Megalo, straining with Shirahoshi hidden inside his mouth and Luffy riding with them, launches through the broken tower chaos. Luffy shouts their destination: "To the Ocean Forest!!!" The page title tag reads "62 Adventure on Fishman Island (End)," closing the volume section as the escape bursts past the guards. Brook cries, "Ahh...?! ...Luffy-san?!" while someone else recognizes the shark: "...?!! Megalooooo?!!"
