General Zombie Night

In Hogback's lab, the clock ticks toward midnight as Nami demands answers. She asks, "WHAT'S WITH THAT ZOMBIE RESEARCH, HOGBACK!!?" Chopper adds, "IT'S NOTHING LIKE AN INVESTIGATION; YOU'RE REVIVING THE DECEASED ON THIS ISLAND, RIGHT?!" Hogback laughs, "FOS FOS FOS..." and says, "HE... HEY NAMI, YOU DON'T NEED TO BE THAT FRANK... YOU ARE FREE TO SUSPECT ANYTHING NOW. IT'S TOO LATE!!" Nami points straight at Cindry: "WHAT BASIS DO YOU HAVE FOR THAT...!!? THAT WOMAN... I FOUND HER OBITUARY NOTICE. VICTORIA CINDRY... YOU'VE BEEN, FOR 10 YEARS... DEAD!!!" Cindry gives only silence.

Hogback is furious that they uncovered his secret: "YOU BASTARDS...!! HOW DID YOU GET INTO THAT ROOM!!?" Chopper, Nami, and Usopp stare back in alarm. Hogback turns away from the argument and calls, "CINDRY-CHAN...!! SAMURAI RYUMA!! KNOCK THOSE GUYS DOWN TO THE SHADOW WORLD!!" He declares, "THE WORLD OF THE SHADOWS, WHERE LIGHT NEVER STRIKES!! THE 'NIGHT ATTACK' HAS ALREADY BEGUN!!" As a door opens with "KARAN..." and Brook's "YOHO-HOHO-HO!!" echoes, Usopp realizes another presence is arriving.

Ryuma steps in, towering and skeletal beneath his samurai robes. Brook notices Nami and says, "HEY, HEY, NOW THAT I LOOK CLOSER, THERE'S A REALLY LOVELY PRINCESS OVER THERE." He adds, "HMM, BEAUTIFUL!!!" and asks her, "PERHAPS YOU'D BE SO KIND AS TO SHOW ME YOUR PANTIES?" Nami snaps, "LIKE HELL I WOULD!!!" Usopp recognizes the exact phrasing and cries, "HOW? HAH, THAT ARGUMENT...!! IT'S EXACTLY LIKE THE ONE I HAD WITH HIM!!" Hogback explains, "FOS FOS...!! HE'S ON A DIFFERENT 'LEVEL' THAN THE ZOMBIES YOU'VE MET UP UNTIL NOW. HE'S A GENERAL ZOMBIE WHO HOLDS A SPECIAL BODY!!! A MAN WHO CAME FROM THE COUNTRY OF WANO IN THE 'NEW WORLD'!!!"

Hogback continues Ryuma's legend: "THE STORY, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER IT'S TRUE OR NOT, HAS BEEN HANDED DOWN FOR GENERATIONS...!! THE LEGENDARY SAMURAI... WHO CUT DOWN A FLYING DRAGON!" Ryuma blocks the path and says, "YOU CAN'T ESCAPE!!!" The three panic, and Usopp shouts, "BAD, REALLY BAD!!" Then Ryuma draws. The sound stretches into "SWIIII..." and "S..." before he is suddenly past them. Usopp only has time to say, "HUH!?" as the samurai's cut has already landed.

Nami, Usopp, and Chopper are stunned by the delayed strike. Hogback celebrates: "MARVELOUS!!! FOS FOS FOS!!" He explains Ryuma's technique: "THOSE WHO ARE CUT BY THE 'MASTER'... THEY HUM THREE METERS, OBLIVIOUS... AND ONLY THEN DO THEY FIRST REALIZE THEY'VE BEEN CUT. IT'S CALLED... 'HANAUTA SANCHOU'" with the note "THE HUMMING THREE METERS." Another note names "THE NOTCH OF AN ARROW CUT." Ryuma finishes the attack as "YAHAZU-GIRI," and the three collapse with "DOSA DOSA...!!"

Outside the mansion, Luffy's group reaches the towering entrance. Luffy politely announces, "PLEASE EXCUSE US," while the others shout, "WE NEED TO INTERRUPT!!!" and "HURRY UP!!" Franky rattles the door and notices, "HMM? THE LOCK ON THE DOOR..." but then the door swings wide. Luffy says, "IT... IT'S OPEN! IT'S OPEN!" Zoro mutters, "THAT GOES WITHOUT SAYING, IDIOT..." Inside, they find a huge empty room and call out, "HEY, ISN'T THERE ANYONE HERE!?" "GECKO MORIA!!" Sanji worries, "WHAT'S THIS, IT LOOKS LIKE A ROOM AFTER A FRAY. I HOPE THEY DIDN'T HURT NAMI-SAN...!!" while someone notes, "IN SUCH A BIG MANSION... THERE ISN'T A SINGLE SERVANT?"

A voice speaks from a portrait: "BUHI-HIHIH...!!! YOU KNOW THE NAME OF THE MASTER. YOU ARE QUITE COURAGEOUS TO ENTER THIS PLACE!" Luffy looks up and says, "HUH!? THERE'S A PIG GROWING ON THE WALL." The mansion itself comes alive as creatures burst from the walls, shouting, "LET US WELCOME THE GUESTS!!!" and "KERYA-KYAKYA-KYA!!!" Sanji asks, "HEY, HEY, ARE THOSE ZOMBIES TOO?" while Luffy screams in surprise. Robin calmly observes, "IT'S NOT STRANGE... TO FIND ANY KIND OF CREATURE ON THIS ISLAND."

A hidden zombie grabs Nami from behind and covers her mouth. She struggles with a muffled "PUGYO" as Sanji begins to ask, "WHERE DID YOU..." The attacker drags her into a picture frame. Sanji sees it and shouts, "HIDE NAMI-SAN!!?" before charging with a furious kick, "BEGUAAAAA!!!!" But Robin, seated calmly beside another wall creature, points out, "IT'S UNLADYLIKE TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH SO WIDE, EVEN IF YOU ARE QUITE PRETTY." The zombie answers, "HUH? REALLY?" Robin adds, "BUT YOU ALREADY SPOILED IT BY COMING OUT OF THE PICTURE FRAME."

Robin twists the picture-frame zombie with a sharp "TWIST!!!" while it screams, "GYAAAAAAH!!!" Franky stares and asks, "ARE YOU THOSE WEAKINGS, NAMA...?" A spear-wielding wall creature loses its weapon and yelps, "HUUUUH!? THE SPEAR WAS BROKEN!! WHAT'S WITH HIS BODY!? IS IT STEEL?" Franky shouts, "STOP, STOP, STOP IT! WHAT'S WITH YOU GUYS!?" and fires back with "BUGAA!!!" Zoro stands ready and answers the challenge with a simple "YES!" as the room's monsters are knocked apart.

Zoro moves with two swords. He announces, "NITOURYUU" and "NIGIRI," while a wall monster hears "ONIGIRI?" and says, "SOUNDS TASTY." Zoro cuts through with "HIRAMEKI," and the creature cries, "DAD DAZDET YAAAAAD!!!" with the aside "THAT TASTED BAAAAAD." Luffy laughs, "SHISHISHISHI!!! THIS ISLAND IS REALLY INTERESTING!!" and launches himself: "GOMU GOMU NO...!!!" One of the zombies yells, "YOU...!! LITTLE BRAT!!" Luffy answers, "SORRY WE HAD TO INTERRUPT, WE COULD HAVE BEEN SUCH GOOD FRIENDS..."

Luffy finishes the wall creature with "BAZOO-OOKA!!!" and the impact sends it crashing with "BEOO!!!!" The blow blasts the zombie into the wall, leaving a broken hole and rubble behind. The group regathers in the battered hall beneath the chandelier. A zombie groans, "MESOSO..." while another, labeled "RU... RUG BEAR," slumps nearby. Franky says, "ALL RIGHT, WE TOOK CARE OF THEM...!!" The room is wrecked, but the immediate threat has been cleared.

Luffy finishes the wall creature with "BAZOO-OOKA!!!" and the impact sends it crashing with "BEOO!!!!" The blow punches a broken hole into the wall, scattering rubble through the hall. The group regathers beneath the chandelier. A zombie groans, "MESOSO..." while another, labeled "RU... RUG BEAR," slumps nearby. Franky says, "ALL RIGHT, WE TOOK CARE OF THEM...!!" The room is wrecked, but the immediate threat has been cleared.

A pig-faced wall zombie recognizes the group and says, "AH... AH!! THAT TRIO!!" then reassures them, "THEY'RE FAST ASLEEP IN THE BEDROOM. THAT'S GOOD!! THEY'RE SAFE!!" Luffy demands proof, and the zombie insists, "IT'S THE TRUTH, BUHI! YOU CAN GO AND CHECK!! JUST GO UP THOSE STAIRS INSIDE...!! BUHI, BUHI..." But as they prepare to move through the ruined hall, Luffy looks around and says, "HM? HEY, WAIT A MINUTE... -- THAT CURLY BROW COOK IS GONE." He asks, "HUH? HE WAS WITH US UNTIL A LITTLE WHILE AGO... WHERE DID THAT SANJI GO?" Zoro lowers his voice: "HEY, DON'T LAUGH!! THEY CAN HEAR YOU." He concludes, "THEY'VE BEEN PLANNING SOMETHING... FOR A LONG WHILE."

The pig zombie tries to taunt them: "BUHI BUHI... YOU GUYS... DON'T GET SO COCKY JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE A LITTLE STRONG... WHEN YOUR NAKAMA START DISAPPEARING, YOU'LL PROBABLY GET SCARED!! YOU'LL GET WHAT YOU DESERVE!!" Robin says, "ANYWAY, WE CAN ONLY CONTINUE WITH OUR INTUITION." Zoro says, "I DON'T THINK THOSE THINGS WILL TELL THE TRUTH EVEN IF WE THREATEN THEM..." and chooses a practical answer: "SO LET'S TAKE THAT PIG AS A GUIDE." The defeated zombies warn them from the floor: "IT'S GOOD FOR YOU TO LEARN THE DREADFULNESS OF OUR MASTER!!" "OUR... REAL BOSS IS THE SHICHIBUKAI GECKO MORI..." "OH!! I CAN'T SAY IT!! MY BODY'S FREEZING UP!!" The pig adds, "HOOOOOOH JUST BY PUTTING THAT WORD IN MY MOUTH IT FEELS LIKE MY BODY IS FREEZING...!!! IT WON'T END SAFELY... FOR YOUR MISSING NAKAMA."

The zombie continues, "ONE... AFTER ANOTHER, YOU'LL LOSE NAKAMA... YOU SHALL REGRET IT...!!" and warns, "THE FEAR THAT CAN'T SAVE ANYONE IN FRONT OF 'SHICHIBUKAI' GECKO... NO... MASTER'S REAL POWER...!!!" Someone tells him, "YOU'RE NOISY WITH ALL YOUR MUMBLING," and another says, "GO TELL THAT MORIA MORON THAT..." Luffy answers the threat with a hard promise: "IF ANYTHING HAPPENS TO ONE OF MY NAKAMA, I'LL BLOW YOU OFF THIS ISLAND!!!" A messenger reaches Absalom: "GREETINGS, MASTER--- SOME DREADFUL PEOPLE JUST ENTERED THE MANSION FROM THE SURPRISE ZOMBIES. (WE GOT SURPRISED)." Absalom says, "EVEN IF WE LEAVE SANJI FOR THE TIME BEING. HE WON'T DIE. LET'S GO."

Outside the mansion, the Night Attack becomes a grotesque festival. The monsters sing, "SURROUND THE MANSION--- LET'S HAVE A FESTIVAL TONIGHT---" and "NOT ONE PIRATE WILL GET AWAY..." Then the song turns darker: "EVERYBODY--- FUWA FUWA, ZOMBIE NIGHT" and "ROUND AND ROUND AND TURN AND DIE... ZOMBIE NIGHT!!!" The dead dance and crawl in a huge crowd as the mansion lights up behind them. In a dark chamber, a shadowed figure enters with heavy steps while sounds echo, "KARARAN..." and "KORON..."

In a chamber lined with coffins and weapons, Absalom addresses the ancient warriors. He says, "WELL... ALL OF THE TROPHIES HAVE ENTERED YOUR PREMISES!! TONIGHT YOU CAN GO AND RAGE TO YOUR LIKING!!" Then he commands, "OPEN YOUR EYES!!! GENERAL ZOMBIES!!!" and calls, "RESURRECT...!! THE WARRIORS OF ANCIENT TIMES!!!" The coffins creak and burst open with "GIGI," "GAKUN," and a massive crash, as the dead soldiers begin to awaken.

Absalom stands before the hulking General Zombies and gives them their prey: "THE 'STRAW HAT PIRATE CREW' BARELY HAS 8 MEMBERS!!!" He orders, "CATCH THEM WONDERFULLY, AND OFFER THEM TO THE MASTER!!!" The massive dead answer with heavy sounds and weapons drawn, including "BAO..." "GUB GUB" and "FUHEHE HEHE..." Absalom roars, "NOW GO!!!" and the armed General Zombies march out to hunt the Straw Hats.
