A PROMISE IS A PROMISE, AFTER ALL." Later Kuma reflects, "I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HARMED OR TROUBLED BY MY ACTIONS. SO THIS IS MY LIFE... PLACE IT IN THERE! In a bright flashback, young Bonney cries out, "KUUUU-MAAAA!!" as Kuma runs desperately with "HUFF HUFF." Bonney and Ginny smile and cheer, "KUMA!!" "WAAAH! WAAAH!" Kuma runs toward them. In another scene, Kuma dashes across rocky terrain with "HUFF" while Bonney calls, "KUMA!!" and Ginny reaches out, "KUMACHI!!" Bonney shouts, "DADDY!!" as Kuma runs with "URGH..." and "KUMACHI!!!" Ginny beams, "I'M SO GRATEFUL!!" "THANK GOODNESS!!" Kuma, now in a black outfit with a large "X" on his back, runs while a tall figure with a long mustache says, "I CAN CURE HER." Kuma responds with "HUFF."

Vegapunk lies in a massive bed as Kuma towers over him in a hulking, armored form, tears streaming down his face. Vegapunk shouts, "YOU ARE A HERO TOO!! LISTEN WELL, KUMA!...!! YOUR LIFE HASN'T CAUSED ANYONE HARM OR TROUBLE, BUT YOUR DEATH WILL PAIN EVERYONE WHO LOVES YOU!! NOT ONLY FOR BONNEY, BUT FOR EVERYONE YOU'VE EVER MET!" Kuma, still crying, replies, "YEAH... I KNOW!! THERE'S JUST ONE LAST THING, VEGAPUNK... THANK YOU." A mechanical "ガコン！" sounds as Kuma begins to change. In a series of panels Kuma fully transforms into his Pacifista-like form, sobbing loudly with "うわああ ああああ ああああ ああああああ" while background figures watch. Vegapunk smiles and says, "I CAN'T SAY HOW GRATEFUL I AM..."

Kuma, now in his transformed state, launches skyward from a platform marked "16" amid swirling clouds and massive crying SFX "うわああああああ". Vegapunk's voice continues, "...COULD YOU... IF YOU SEE HER AGAIN......TELL HER SOMETHING FOR MEI" A thought bubble reads "THANK YOU FOR SAVING BONNEY'S LIFE!" Kuma grunts in pain "KWEEEEN GRH GRK" as he flies. The final splash shows Kuma's massive hand reaching out with dripping tears and the narration "...A HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY."
