At Gyoncord Plaza, Hody's side tries to steady itself after Luffy has dropped fifty thousand enemies. One voice insists, "Fifty thousand may have fallen!! But fifty thousand more still remain!!" The Straw Hat Pirates are called the greatest obstacle to their ambitions, and Jinbe is condemned as the embodiment of Otohime's dream of a detestable future where fishmen make peace with humans. Zoro asks, "Fifty thousand, Luffy? Seriously? Leave some for us, would you?" Sanji says he is going for thirty thousand, and Brook politely answers, "Oh, right. Sorry." Hody does not wait. He says, "...So you think you can protect the gigantic mermaid princess..." and fires the water shot `Uchimizu` straight at Shirahoshi in the open plaza. Shirahoshi cries out as the attack reaches her.

The attack does not land. Someone realizes it "was deflected with another Uchimizu?!!" and the crowd gasps that the man is a monster. Luffy, seeing Shirahoshi safe, says, "She... didn't even need my help?" The explanation spreads: it is the sheer power of Captain Hody's `Uchimizu`, enhanced by his newly awakened monstrous strength, but Jinbe has answered it with fishman karate. Jinbe stands firm and tells Hody, "Hmph...... I don't know where you found all this power, but in fishman karate, you are little better than a child...!!" The enemy remembers that Jinbe was the first fishman ever to serve as a member of the Royal Shichibukai, and that his bounty went over four hundred million after he abandoned his post. Hody, furious, tells Jinbe to quit jabbering and fight, warning that they will only take the princess's life if Jinbe takes all of theirs first.

The enemy changes tactics. A firing squad takes aim at Princess Shirahoshi, but Brook steps into the moment with music and a strange festival air. He declares, "Yohohoho!! We can't be having that, can we?!!" and asks, "Who would dare to harm the mermaid princess, idol of men the world over?!!" He welcomes the attackers "...to my after-dark festival!!" while calling for "Party music!!" The scene becomes bizarrely festive, with lights, notes, and decorations appearing around the plaza. The soldiers wonder, "Huh?! Are we... dreaming or something?!"

Brook's illusion-like performance continues as fireworks fill the sky. He calls, "Send your fireworks soaring on high!!" and the crowd looks up, dazzled: "Oh, yeah!!" and "This is so much fun!!" One gunner still remembers the mission and says, "Heyyy!! I said aim at the princess, Bogan!!" Brook gently redirects the celebration, telling someone, "Huh? But, Dosun-san... Today's the day of the festa... uhh?" Then he makes his move. With the enemy already caught in the rhythm and vision of the festival, Brook says, "Quinto Tias..." and cuts them down with "Fantasia!!!!" The attackers scream as the music turns into a blade.

Another assault begins. The Steel Shell Squadron charges behind their shields, shouting, "Attack!! Steel Shell Squadron!!" Zoro watches and mutters, "Santo-Uryuu..." Then he unleashes `Kokusou: Ootatsumaki!!!!` The translation note explains that `Kokusou` means "Black Thread: Great Whirlwind," and "The Black Thread" is also the name of one of the Buddhist hells. Zoro's slash becomes a vast rotating storm that tears through the attackers and sends them screaming. The blow is not a simple cut; it is a sustained vortex that catches the squadron, scatters bodies, and keeps moving across the plaza.

The fishmen cannot understand what they just saw. One cries, "He sliced through the steel shells like they were made of fruit!!!" Another recognizes the technique as the Scythe of Death itself and panics that the whirlwind of razor-sharp death is not stopping. The storm chases the enemy as they flee: "Run for it!! It'll slice us to pieces!!!" and "How far is it gonna keep chasing us?!!" Zoro stands still at the center of his own destruction, blades ready, and answers with cold certainty: "To the ends of hell."

The enemy tries to go over the Straw Hats instead. Someone shouts, "Boost your bubbles' altitude!!" and the order spreads: "We're going in from above!" Their goal remains the same: "Take out Shirahoshi at all costs!!!" The next unit appears, led by Captain Harisenbon. A note explains that `Harisenbon` means "a thousand needles." The Sea-Urchin-Cloaked Spike Squad surrounds Sanji and prepares to riddle the leg-fighter with holes. Their commander calls, "Everyone with me! Hari... sen ..." and the spiked fighters close in, convinced there is nowhere for Sanji to run.

Sanji refuses to move, even as allies shout, "Sanji-san, it's dangerous to just stand there! Where are you...?" Shirahoshi cries, "Sanji-kyuuun!" In Sanji's mind, the scene becomes almost romantic and nostalgic. He sings of running like the wind, endlessly fleeing from monsters that pursued him, "Through rain and through snow, through lightning and thunder, onward and onward, I ran..." He remembers a time when there seemed nowhere left to run, until one day he ran onward and upward. The spiked enemies strike him, screaming, "Leg-fighter!! Your head is ours!!" But Sanji is already gone. The crowd sees him rise into the air and realizes, "He's gone!!"

Sanji uses the same sky-walking movement associated with CP9, and Luffy shouts in surprise, "Whoaaa!! Sanji's flying!!" Robin calmly identifies it: "That's... CP9's..." From above, Sanji declares, "...Into the heavens above!! Sky Walk!!!" The enemies below look up in confusion: "He's up there!!" Shirahoshi calls, "Sanji-chin-sama!!" Sanji descends toward the attackers and warns them, "Hey there, punks. If you've got business with Shirahoshi-chan ...you'll have to get past me first!!" Then he ignites his leg and calls, "Diable Jambe..."

Sanji's burning kick lands as `Poele a Frire: Spectre!!!!` The blow hammers the sea-urchin squad and their spikes are useless against his airborne assault. Elsewhere, Robin's power blooms from the ground. She says, "Mille Fleur" and "Gigantesco Mano," and a pair of enormous legs rises above the battlefield. The enemy stares upward in disbelief: "Holy... What the hell is that?!!" and "Legs?!" The battlefield becomes a stage for the Straw Hats' new abilities: Sanji has taken the sky, and Robin has given herself giant limbs large enough to dominate the plaza.

Robin brings the giant feet down with a simple word: "Stomp!!" The massive legs crush enemies across the ground while she politely says, "Please excuse me!" The Poison Squad pushes forward anyway, shouting, "Poison Squad, forward!!" and boasting, "No matter how big those legs are, they can't withstand our deadly venom!" At that moment the Thousand Sunny activates Franky's system. The call goes out: "Soldier Dog System!" and "Channel 4!!!" The ship opens a numbered hatch, preparing another piece of Franky's new machinery while the poison fighters pause in confusion.

From Channel 4 bursts `KuroSai FR-U #4!!!!` It is a massive black rhinoceros-shaped bike that roars into the plaza and scatters enemies. The poison fighters yell, "What the heck is that?!!" and "What was that about poison?!!" Franky loves the machine's entrance, shouting, "Awesome!!! It's a rhinobike!!!" The vehicle is not just flashy; it is hard steel and speed crashing through the enemy line, turning the poison squad's confidence into panic before their venom can matter.

The enemy tries to poison the rhinobike, but Franky answers through steel. "If you think you can poison this, then be my guest!!" he says as the fighters realize, "This monster's made of steel!!!" Another squad swings heavy spiked iron weapons, and Franky shifts to the next machine: "Channel 5!!! New number ..." He tells them, "Steel should be fought with steel!! Leave this to me!!" The battlefield briefly becomes a clash of metal against metal, with Franky's inventions meeting the enemy's crude weapons head-on.

The next machine engages: `BrachioTank #5, engage!!!` A dinosaur-like tank rumbles into view while Franky and Usopp ride inside. Luffy and Brook stare in delight. Luffy cries, "Oh yeah!!! A dinosaur!!" and Brook calls it marvelous. Usopp boasts to Nami, "Did you see my brilliant aim?!!" while Nami wonders how the cockpit became so much bigger with the flip of a single lever. Franky calls it a shipwright's machine, and Chopper, overcome with emotion inside the tank, declares, "My name is Commander Chopper!!" When an enemy asks if they have fighting to do, Chopper answers by ordering, "Open fire!!"

The citizens watch the Straw Hats tear through the army and cry out, "Straw Hat!!" They are stunned that ten people are taking on a hundred thousand enemies without breaking a sweat. Across the plaza, voices call for "Boss Jinbe!!" and "Straw Hat!" Hody, watching from the side, mutters that they are ignorant fools and that they are getting on his nerves. Then he orders the ultimate answer to enter the plaza: the Kraken. The huge creature rises amid the chaos, and Hody commands, "Crush them underfoot!! Put an end to this farce!!!"

The crowd panics when the legendary Kraken appears. Some believe not even the Straw Hats can withstand it and say, "That thing can crush them like dolls!!" Others cheer for the monster. Hody, however, has misunderstood the situation. Someone calls to the Kraken, "Ahh! Hey, Surume!! It's me!!" Luffy smiles and asks, "Can't I ride you again?! You were our pet before, remember?!" The Kraken freezes, then obeys Luffy. Hody snaps his fingers and orders, "Go for it, Surume!!!" but the creature turns against Hody's men instead, throwing them aside while Luffy laughs, "Shishishishishi!!" The enemy screams, "The Kraken switched sides!!!" and Hody snarls, "Stop that, Kraken!! You stupid squid!!!" When Hody says he brought Surume from the northernmost reaches for this express purpose and commands him to fight as a slave, Luffy answers simply, "We're friends!!"
