Around the New World, hidden viewers watch Caesar's broadcast and recognize the famous prisoners. One names "ROYAL SHICHIBUKAI TRAFALGAR LAW!!" Another identifies "THE PIRATE WHO HAS RECENTLY BEEN REPORTED TO BE BACK AT LARGE, STRAW HAT LUFFY!!" and "HIS CREWMATE, 'DEVIL CHILD' NICO ROBIN..." Smoker is recognized too: "...AND THE WILD DOG OF THE MARINES, 'WHITE HUNTER' SMOKER!!" The brokers wonder why so many famous people are being held captive by Caesar. One shadowed viewer calls to another, "HEY, KIDD. THESE GUYS..." as the transmission proves that Caesar has gathered valuable captives and a spectacle worth watching.

In another location, Eustass "Captain" Kidd steps forward, introduced as "Captain of the Kidd Pirates" with a bounty of 470 million beli. He says, "SO YOU'VE FINALLY MADE YOUR MOVE, STRAW HAT!!" but admits that this kind of brokerage is more Killer's world than his: "YOU'RE NOT THE TYPE TO GET MIXED UP IN THAT BROKERING STUFF ANY MORE THAN I AM, RIGHT, KILLER?" Killer, introduced as a Warrior of the Kidd Pirates with a 200 million beli bounty, says Trafalgar was plotting something after all, just when he seemed to have sold out to the Government. Kidd's crew hurries preparations, while Kidd snaps at someone to "TRY TO KEEP THINGS CIVIL, WOULD YOU, KIDD?" and answers, "YEAH, YEAH, I KNOW!!"

The meeting Kidd arranged is already collapsing into chaos. Scratchmen Apoo arrives with a loud "APPAPPA PAPPA!!!" and calls, "HEY THERE, CAPTAIN KIDD!!" Kidd snarls, "...!! WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING TO MY HIDEOUT, SCRATCHMEN?!!" Apoo answers that he has not seen Kidd's face in a while and is glad to see it is "AS DISGUSTING AS ALWAYS!!!" Kidd's men apologize, saying they could not stop him. Apoo, introduced as "Captain of the On-Air Pirates Scratchmen Apoo" with a 350 million beli bounty, says he was only being careful because there might be snipers. Kidd is ready to fight, while Killer calmly warns that Apoo is a powerful man and that they should not have called "that idiot" if they did not expect this.

Basil Hawkins appears and immediately wants no part of the farce. He is introduced as "Captain of the Hawkins Pirates Basil Hawkins" with a 320 million beli bounty, and says, "THIS IS A FARCE... I THINK I'LL BE LEAVING." Apoo shouts, "WAIT!! HAWKINS!!! WE HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED YET!!" Killer tells both of them to cut it out and explains why they were called: "THE REASON WE CALLED THIS MEETING... IS TO PROPOSE AN ALLIANCE BETWEEN OUR THREE CREWS!!" Kidd, Apoo, and Hawkins all react sharply. The idea is serious, but the people involved are volatile enough that even proposing a discussion feels like lighting a fuse.

Back outside Caesar's research facility on Punk Hazard, the cage holding the captives hangs over the battlefield while the Shinokuni gas spreads below. Law says, "THAT'S RIGHT... LET'S GET THIS OVER WITH...!!" Luffy stares ahead, and the G-5 Marines panic beneath them. One screams, "DAMMITALL!! THAT GAS IS GONNA COVER THE WHOLE ISLAND!!" Others cry, "IT'S COMING TO GET US!!" and "WE'RE GONNA DIE!!" The battlefield is running out of safe space. Law's plan has to begin immediately, because the gas is closing in while Caesar still believes the cage is fully under his control.

Inside the cage, the prisoners search for a way to create cover. Franky asks, "IS THERE ANYONE IN HERE WHO CAN LIGHT FIRES?" Luffy says if there is not, that is fine, but Franky wants him to be frank. Franky explains that he can fire beams too, but his radical beam needs both arms positioned carefully, which the chains prevent. He asks Law, "CAN YOU BURN UP THAT BATTLESHIP OFF BELOW US TO THE RIGHT?" Franky, trapped in Chopper's body, says, "SURE THING, NO PROBLEM." Then he launches "FIRE-BALL!!" and the ship below catches fire, sending flames and smoke up through the snow while the people beneath shout, "THE SHIP'S CAUGHT FIRE!!!"

Caesar sees the smoke rising and misreads it as one last frustration from the captives. "WHAT NONSENSE IS THIS...?" he says, then laughs, "SHURORO... WORRY NOT, MY FRIEND... ONCE THIS EXPERIMENT IS OVER... I WILL PUT YOUR BODY TO EXCELLENT USE...!!" The smoke covers the hanging cage, and the people inside cough. Someone curses, "DAMMIT, TRAFALGAR!! NOW WE'RE GETTING COVERED IN SMOKE!!" Law calmly tells them, "DON'T LOOK AT ME. YOU'RE THE ONE WHO DID IT." Then he uses the smoke as concealment. With a quiet "SHIFT," the scene changes inside the cage, and Law explains that the Visual Den Den Mushi should not be able to make them out through the smoke, giving them a small window before Caesar notices anything wrong.

Luffy notices that the kairoseki chains are gone and blurts, "WHAT THE HECK?! HOW THE... HOW DID YOU TAKE OFF THOSE KAIROUSEKI CHAINS?!" Law answers that his chains were never made of kairoseki to begin with. With his ability, removing ordinary chains is simple. He had prepared regular chains at locations across the facility in case he needed to switch them out, because he expected that he might be captured and wanted to avoid real seastone restraints. Luffy celebrates, "YEAHHH!! I'M FREE!!!" and Law immediately tells him, "NOT SO LOUD, IDIOT!!" Law then turns to Smoker and says the question is what to do with him, because Smoker knows too much and his fate is in Law's hands.

Law tells Smoker he is sure Smoker has already made his decision and tells him to hurry up. Then Tashigi reacts violently and screams from Smoker's body, "AAAHHHHH!!!" while Smoker, in Tashigi's body, snaps, "NO NEED TO SCREAM LIKE A WOMAN, YOU STUPID GIRL..." Tashigi begs, "P...PLEASE, JUST REMOVE THESE CHAINS, QUICKLY!! WE'LL DO WHATEVER YOU SAY...!!" Smoker is furious that she would kneel to pirates, shouting, "THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE SAYING, TASHIGI?!! YOU'RE SO SCARED TO DIE YOU'D KNEEL TO PIRATES?!!" Tashigi answers that begging for their lives is the only correct course, because if they die, Vergo will keep manipulating the Marines and the children will perish too.

Outside, the G-5 Marines cannot see the cage through all the smoke. They shout, "TASHIGI-CHAN!! ARE YOU OKAY?!" and "SMOKE-YAN!! ARE YOU OKAY IN ALL THAT SMOKE?!" Law tells Smoker, "LISTEN TO ME, WHITE HUNTER. I HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO SAVE YOUR LIFE..." but admits that if Vergo lost his position because Smoker survived, that would benefit Law too. His condition is strict: Smoker must forget everything he heard about Law and Joker. This is not a request, Law says, but "A CONDITION, A PROMISE IN EXCHANGE FOR YOUR LIFE...!!" Luffy asks from outside, "HEY, TRA-DUDE!! HOW DO WE GET INSIDE?!" and Law answers that someone smashed a hole in the cage, because it is not made of kairoseki. More importantly, Law wants to do something about the Sunny.

Outside the facility, the gas closes in on Zoro's group. Sanji says, "EVEN WITH THIS UNUSUAL STYLE OF RUNNING, THE GAS WILL SOON BE UPON US!!" while Zoro says, "WE'VE GOTTA CATCH THAT DRAGON AND FLY!!" Brook, exhausted, says he does not think he can keep running. Nami, in Sanji's body, warns, "IT'S NO GOOD. NAMI'S BODY'S REACHED ITS LIMIT... I CAN'T GO ON..." Then Kin'emon's body reacts strangely: a hand gropes his chest, and he wonders, "MY CHEST...?" The dragon appears ahead, and Brook shouts, "ONE DRAGON, COMING RIGHT UP!!" as he grabs it. Kin'emon, who hates dragons, demands, "WHAT KIND OF SOURCE OF POWER DO YOU CALL THAT?!"

The Shinokuni gas is almost on top of Zoro's group. Nami warns, "THE GAS IS ALMOST ON TOP OF US!!" and Sanji says the creepy purple color cannot be natural. Brook carries Nami and apologizes, "I'M SORRY ABOUT THIS, BROWN-BEARDY MAKING YOU CARRY US WHEN YOU'RE STILL BADLY WOUNDED...!!" Brownbeard says not to worry about the weight, because more importantly he has to save his men. He also worries about the children, hoping they have not taken the candy yet. Below, Caesar's subordinates notice someone running before the gas and ask what is happening. One realizes, "SOMEONE'S RUNNING FROM THE GAS LIKE US!!" while another asks, "IS THAT A DRAGON?!"

At the outside of the research facility, the shutter suddenly begins to open. The G-5 Marines shout, "OH YEAH!!! THE SHUTTER OPENED!!" and "I DON'T KNOW WHAT JUST HAPPENED, BUT HELL YEAH!!!" They call, "EVERYONE HEAD INSIDE!!!" because they were not going to be killed by the gas. Others rush toward the entrance, shouting, "EMERGENCY!! THE SHUTTERS HAVE OPENED!! THE G-5 MARINES ARE ENTERING THE FACILITY!!" and "INTRUDERS!! UP THERE!!!" Nobody knows who pulled the lever, but the opening creates the only immediate refuge from Shinokuni.

The cage drops into the facility area, and the captives are free. Law, Luffy, Smoker, Tashigi, Robin, and Franky emerge while the Marines below shout in shock. One Marine says, "I THOUGHT THOSE GUYS GOT CAPTURED BY THE MASTER...?!!" Law is greeted with "LAW!! STRAW HAT!! SMOKER!!" The G-5 Marines outside beg not to be locked out and scream, "OPEN UP!! LET US INSIDE, PLEASE!!" while Zoro's group uses the dragon to charge toward the entrance. Zoro asks Kin'emon, "CAN YOU SLICE STEEL, KIN'EMON?" and Kin'emon answers that it should pose no obstacle. They keep running straight, and the group declares, "WE'RE GOING IN!!!" Inside, Luffy grins, Smoker mutters that he cannot believe he is working with these people, and Law wonders what he is going to do about that heart.

Zoro and Kin'emon slash through the shutter in a huge joint strike. The Marines scream, "THEY SLICED THE SHUTTER TO PIECES!!!" and immediately realize the danger: "NOW THE GAS IS GOING TO FLOOD INSIDE!!!" From above, Law sees the noise below and says, "LOOKS LIKE EVERYBODY'S HERE!! TIME TO HAVE SOME FUN!!!" Luffy punches through the cage with a sharp "PAN!!" while the lower floor erupts into panic. One Marine cries, "OH! IT'S GETTING PRETTY NOISY DOWN THERE!! THAT MUST BE ZORO AND THE OTHERS!!" The escape has turned into a collision of every faction at once: prisoners, Marines, Straw Hats, samurai, dragon, and Shinokuni all converge at the facility entrance.
