The Talk of Ebisu Town

WE CAUGHT MIDNIGHT BOY!' and 'AN ACCIDENT! EMERGENCY!! A FOREST FIRE IN KURI!!' Orochi's retainers argue. One says 'SILENCE! I COULDN'T CARE LESS ABOUT SOME PIDDLING BURGLAR!' Another pleads about the Midnight Boy. Orochi erupts in fury: 'SUCH A BEAUTY DOES NOT EXIST ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD! BRING BACK KOMURASAKI!' and 'YOU FOOLS COULD NEVER UNDERSTAND MY PAIN AT LOSING THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!' A retainer begs forgiveness for the insult to his grace.

In a dimly lit chamber, subordinates report to their superior. "WE HAVE CAPTURED HIM, AND HE IS BEING HELD IN THE PRISON HOUSE IN RASETSU TOWN, BUT... IT SEEMS THE HERO OF THE PENNILESS, MIDNIGHT BOY." Another voice adds, "AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING OUT OF YOUR ROOM. KYOSHIRO ACTED WELL." A bald man with glasses gestures emphatically. A serene image of a castle on a hill appears with sound effects "ヒラヒラ" and "チャララ". The scene cuts to a close-up of a fierce, sweating man with a sword in his mouth, eyes wide with rage: "HOW IS THAT FOOL STILL ALIVEI!" He glares intensely as the report continues about the captured hero's real identity.

Kurozumi Orochi, wearing a crown-like headpiece, roars with laughter and declares, "BY MAKING AN EXAMPLE OF HIM, OF COURSE! BROADCAST THE FOOTAGE THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY USING THE LIGHT-GRAM!" A subordinate asks, "HOWI" Another figure explains, "WITH SO MANY PEOPLE GATHERED IN ONE PLACE, WE MUST DO OUR BEST TO PREVENT PANIC AND CHAOS. NATURALLY, THEN... WE HAVE ALREADY TAKEN PRECAUTIONS. TODAY IS KOMURASAKI'S FUNERAL." A kneeling attendant reports, "NGGHHH! KYOSHIRO! WE'VE ALREADY ARRANGED FOR THE LIGHT-GRAM, YOUR GRACE." Orochi continues, "THE TWO BIGGEST STARS OF THE CAPITAL WINKING OUT AT THE SAME TIME. HOW IRONIC! A SACRIFICE, IF YOU WILL. THEN LET US HAVE THE MIDNIGHT BOY DIE ALONGSIDE KOMURASAKI." He concludes, "I MUST SEE THIS FOR MYSELF. PREPARE MY HORSE."

At the Udon Prisoner's Mine, prisoners react in shock to a broadcast. One yells, "STOP, I DON'T WANT TO HEAR BAD JOKES THIS EARLY IN THE MORNING! YOU'RE KIDDING!" Large sound effects "ベン ん!!" echo. A massive light-gram snail projects an image with "どはーっ!!" and the anguished cry "WAAAG GHHHH! KOMURASAKIIIIIIIII!!" A horned prisoner shouts, "I'M SERIOUS!" Elsewhere, onlookers react: "OII! BALLOON! HUHI! THE HECK IS GOING ONI" and "Y-YES! OII! SHOW ME THE CAPITAL!!" A character mutters, "SHIT... HE'S FOUND OUT THAT KO-MURASAKI DIED!" while examining the "LIGHT-GRAM SNAIL".

Luffy, massively inflated with a small figure on his shoulder, faces a large round-headed man. The big man exclaims, "OI! HOW'D YOU TWO GET SO FAT OVERNIGHTI!" Luffy shouts back, "HOW MUCH LONGER FOR THE FIGHTINGI!" with sound effects "ばーん ヒィ". Nearby, a den-den mushi projects a video with "BMMMMM!" and "カチッ". Observers react: "WE SHOULD REPORT THAT ALL HIS OSHIRUKO SOMEHOW VANISHED OVERNIGHTI" "FIND OUTI! WE SHOULD FIND SOMETHING LIKE THAT. THEY'D HAVE TO BE IDIOTS TO NOT NOTICE!" "MASTER LUFFY, I TOLD YOU THEY'D FIND OUT IF YOU OVERATE!" Luffy, now normal-sized, asks, "A VIDEO DEN DEN MUSHII" while narration notes, "OF COURSE NOT, DUMBO! WHO KNOWS WHAT HE'LL DO IF HE GETS TWO BITS OF BAD NEWS AT ONCE!" and "HOW HAS AN IDIOT LIKE THAT SURVIVED THIS LONGI"

Smoke and flames engulf the mountainside as panicked figures flee the spreading blaze. "WE CAN'T PUT IT OUT! RUN!" "IT'S NO USE! THE FIRE'S SPREADING TOO RAPIDLY!" A map inset labels the area: "ELSEWHERE, KURI, HEAD MOUNTAIN HIDEOUT OF SHUTENMARU THE BANDIT," marking Kibi, Flower, Udon, Hakumai, and Oni. In a large panel, the massive bandit leader Shutenmaru snarls with fury, "SHUTENMARU, IF WE FLATTEN BAKURA TOWN, KAIDO'S ARMIES WILL BE ON US HARDER THAN EVER!" "I'M GONNA POUND THAT GUY INTO PASTE!" "I KNEW IT! LET'S GO!" Nearby thugs recognize the arsonist: "IT'S ONE OF HOLDEN'S THUGS! FROM BAKURA TOWN!" "HE STARTED THE FIRE!" Far below, a ruined village burns as voices urge haste: "ALREADYI! WE MUST HURRY, INUARASHI!" "BOY ASHURA IS HEADING TO BAKURA!" "KINE-MON!" A sign reads "KURI, A VILLAGE RUIN."

A furious man with a scar growls, "OUR PLANS HAVE DERAILED AND I SEE NO WAY TO GET THEM BACK ON TRACK!" In the next panel a striped-shirted figure dodges attacks from a wolf-like mink while muttering, "IDIOTS LIKE HIM DON'T MOVE UNLESS THEY'RE PUSHED! I JUST HOPE IT PUSHES HIM TO BECOME AN ENEMY OF THE HUNDRED BEAST PIRATES." An onlooker exclaims, "ARSONI! THINGS HAVE GOTTEN MORE OUT OF HAND THAN I HAD IMAGINED." The scene shifts to Bakura Town where a tall, bandaged samurai in a tall hat commands, "TURN ON THE LIGHT-GRAM SNAIL!" A voice calls "ROGER!" He notes, "SEEMS SOMETHING RATHER INTERESTING IS HAPPENING IN THE FLOWER CAPITAL TODAY." A sign reads "KURI, BAKURA TOWN." The large cat-like bandit leader laughs, "YOU JUST HAD TO GET COCKY AND STEAL FOOD AND WEAPONS, HUH, HEAD MOUNTAIN BANDITSI!" A wanted poster and text confirm "SHUTENMARU BANDITS WERE HERE." "SHUTENMARU DYING IN A FIRE, BUT..."

In the snowy Ringo Northern Graveyard, a massive impact erupts from a traditional building as someone screams "WHAAA AAAAAI!" "WHOI! WHATI!" A map labels the location. Brook turns in surprise, "BROOK... WHAT'S THE MATTERI WHY ARE YOU HEREI" "HMI" A towering skeleton in a hat apologizes, "MY APOLOGIES. IF YOU WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF SOMETHING. I DIDN'T KNOW SOMEONE WAS LIVING HERE!" The skeleton suddenly lunges; impact lines and SFX "ばん くん" explode as Zoro and a black-haired woman in a kimono are knocked down. Zoro yells "WHAAA-I! ZOROI!" while the woman cries out in shock.

The woman screams "KYAAA AAAH! A GHOST!" as Brook politely asks, "EXCUSE ME, BUT DO YOU THINK YOU COULD SHOW ME YOUR PANTI-" A heart appears: "SO PRETTY." She stares in surprise while a chibi face reacts with shock. Inside a ruined building Kin'emon sits with the woman; Brook explains, "BUT SERIOUSLY, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE MOMONOSUKE'S YOUNGER SISTER! YOU'RE AS PRETTY AS THAT COURTESAN. AND YOU'VE GOT WAY TOO MUCH HAIR FOR A SKELETON!" "I'M HUNGRY, SO I'M GOING TO CURSE YOU" AND SO I DID," Kin'emon recalls. The woman notes the many offerings at the well. Later she teases, "GOT RIGHT TO THE POINT THERE, DIDN'T WE." "BUT SLEEPING NEXT TO ME MAKES MOST MEN QUITE HAPPY! DID IT MAKE YOU HAPPYI" Brook laughs "YOHO HOHO!" while she continues, "I'M SO SORRY! I WAS JUST SO COLD, SO I..." "OF WHATI I WAS JUST SLEEPING." Zoro glares, "ZORO, I'M SO JEALOUS!"

The streets are filled with people who've turned out for the funeral of Wano's most beautiful woman, the courtesan Komurasaki, and now the capital's in chaos! Yesterday, I wasn't able to find her. That man is going to be executed in the capital today! I find this hard to say, but... THIS IS VERY BAD! WHAAA AAAAI! WHAAA AAAI! They're after your life too! DADDY! DADDY! HAA- HAA- WAIT! TOKO! NO! WAIT! I JUST GOT BACK FROM THE CAPITAL! WAIT JUST A MINUTE-EEEE! HOLD UP, DUMMY. I'M COMING TOO! YOU OBVIOUSLY CAN'T PROTECT HER BY YOURSELF! GAcha I'M GOING AFTER HER! WAAAG GGHHH! COURTE-SAN! KOMU-RASAKI! FLOWER CAPITAL. O TREASURE OF WANO! COME BEFORE US AGAIN! I DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS KIND OF COURTESAN'S PROCESSION! The grand procession moves through the capital with Komurasaki at its center, lanterns and banners waving as crowds react in awe and protest.

SHE DEFIED LORD OROCHI! SHE'S TO BE CREMATED AT THE PRISON HOUSE AS A CRIMINAL. WHY ARE THEY HEADING FOR RASETSU TOWNI WHY WOULD THEY DO SUCH A THINGI! TONOYASU HAS BEEN STRUNG UP! LOOK! The townspeople stare in shock at the crucified figure. "THAT'S HIM!" one man yells. A woman adds, "HE WAS INCREDIBLY STRICT! I BARELY RECOGNIZE HIM!" Another shouts, "LORD YASUIE! A DAIMYO OF WANO, WHO ONCE SERVED THE KOZUKI CLAN ALONGSIDE LORD ODEN!" The scene shifts to Rasettsu Town Prison House as officers move in. "TAKE HIM DOWN, OFFICERS!" "STOP IT!" A massive impact strikes the cross. "LORD YASUIE! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE STILL ALIVE!" the crowd cries. "TAKE DOWN LORD YASUIE!" "YOU RUDE BASTARDS!" "TAKE HIM DOWN!" Luffy watches from the front of the furious mob with a grin.

Yasuie stands bloodied and defiant. "THERE IS NO USE, EVERYONE. OROCHI WILL NEVER LET ME LIVE!" he declares. Laughing, he continues, "WAHAHAHA! I SEE I HAVEN'T YET BEEN FORGOTTEN..." The crowd screams his name. In a massive close-up Yasuie grins wildly and announces, "AND ONE THING I NEED TO SAY TO THAT IDIOT OROCHI! THERE ARE TWO THINGS I'D LIKE TO APOLOGIZE TO EVERYONE FOR!" Panic spreads as onlookers wonder what he will say. A small child cries "DADDY!" Yasuie finishes, "I'M GONNA GO INTO THE NIGHT, SMILING ALL THE WAY! AFTER I'VE SAID MY PIECE," as Luffy stares upward in shock.
