Don Krieg looks down menacingly, stating, "YOU CAN'T KILL HIM? THAT'S QUITE DISAPPOINTING, GIN. I ALWAYS BELIEVED YOU TO BE MY MOST LOYAL SUBORDINATE, WHO COULD ADHERE TO MY PHILOSOPHY OF WAR MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE..." On the ruined deck below, Gin kneels in front of Sanji, who is lying flat on his back, defeated and bleeding. Monkey D. Luffy stands in the background, watching the scene. Krieg continues speaking from off-panel: "THE REASON WHY I PLACED YOU AS THE BATTLE COMMANDER OF MY PIRATE FLEET OF 50 SHIPS, IS BECAUSE YOUR FIGHTING ABILITIES, AS WELL AS YOUR WILLINGNESS TO WIN BY ANY MEANS NO MATTER HOW VILE OR DESPICABLE, WAS GREATER THAN THAT OF ANY OF MY SUBORDINATES!"

Gin, sweating and with tears in his eyes, replies to his captain, "I KNOW, DON. I REALLY HAVE NO INTENTION OF BETRAYING YOU, NOR DO I THINK WHAT I'VE DONE ALL ALONG WAS A MISTAKE." Sanji lies on the ground, looking up at Gin while bleeding from his head. Gin continues, "I DEEPLY ADMIRE YOUR STRENGTH, DON. YOU COULD EVEN SAY I'M GRATEFUL..." In a wider shot of the deck, Gin remains kneeling beside Sanji and confesses, "BUT, I JUST CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO KILL THIS MAN!" Luffy watches them with a serious expression. Gin's legs tremble with a "DO-DOK..." sound as he looks up toward Krieg and pleads, "DON KRIEG...! IF IT'S POSSIBLE... IF THERE'S THE SLIGHTEST CHANCE POSSIBLE..."

Tears stream down Gin's face as he begs, "COULD WE PLEASE... LET THIS SHIP GO...?" A close-up shows Don Krieg's face contorted in absolute fury, a vein popping with a "BUCHI!!" sound effect and three large exclamation marks emphasizing his rage. Krieg's crew members react in shock to Gin's plea. One yells, "GIN! HOW COULD YOU...!" Another shouts, "I'VE MISJUDGED YOU!" A third asks, "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU, COMMANDER!?" On the Baratie, Zeff and the other cooks watch the unfolding drama in stunned silence.

Don Krieg aims his massive shoulder-mounted weapon directly at the Baratie. He roars, "YOU, MY MOST LOYAL SUBORDINATE, DARE DEFY MY ORDERS!? HAVE YOU GONE COMPLETELY OUT OF YOUR MIND, GIN!?" A "JAKIIN!!" sound effect accompanies the weapon readying. Panic erupts among Krieg's crew in the water. They scramble, yelling, "AGHHH! IT'S THE MH5!" and "PUT ON YOUR MASKS!" as they grab their gas masks with a "GABA!!" sound. One adds, "THIS TIME, IT'S FOR REAL!" The Baratie cooks realize the danger, one exclaiming, "THAT POISON GAS...!?" Luffy glares angrily, muttering, "WHY THAT BASTARD..." Gin looks up in shock, protesting, "BUT DON! WE WERE SAVED BECAUSE OF THIS RESTAURANT!"

A close-up of Don Krieg shows his ruthless expression as a rumbling "GOOOO" sound effect surrounds him. He commands, "THROW AWAY YOUR GAS MASK, GIN. YOU'RE NO LONGER ONE OF MY CREW." Gin is devastated, tears falling as he stammers, "WHA...!?" and "DON... KRIEG..." In the water below, Krieg's crew members are in disbelief. One says, "...THE DON'S REALLY PLANNING ON KILLING EVEN GIN!" Another cries, "WHAT! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" A third argues, "GIN'S HIS RIGHT-HAND MAN!" and another confirms, "THAT'S RIGHT. THERE'S NOT A SINGLE MAN WHO'S MORE LOYAL TO THE DON THAN GIN."

A flashback panel shows Don Krieg's ship being pursued by a Marine ship. A crew member narrates, "EVEN DURING THAT TIME TOO...! BACK WHEN WE JUST ESCAPED GRAND LINE ONLY TO BE SUDDENLY AMBUSHED BY FULLBODY, GIN ALONE DISGUISED AS OUR DON, AND LURED THE MARINES AWAY!" Back in the present, the crew members in the water look up at Gin on the deck. One says, "HE'S A MAN WHO ALWAYS RISKED HIS LIFE FIGHTING FOR THE DON'S SAKE. A MAN WHO BECAME EVEN A DEMON TO CARRY OUT THE DON'S ORDERS! THERE'S JUST NO WAY DON KRIEG COULD KILL A MAN LIKE GIN...!" Despite this, Don Krieg keeps his weapon aimed and orders, "THROW AWAY YOUR MASK!" Gin kneels on the deck, holding his gas mask in his hands with a "SU..." sound effect, looking down in despair.

Luffy sprints toward Don Krieg with a "DOU!!" dash sound, yelling, "AS IF I'D LET YOU FIRE YOUR POISON GAS BOMB!" Krieg looks annoyed as Luffy stretches his arms out with a "HYU!!" sound, trying to grab Krieg's spiked shield. Krieg scoffs, "NUISANCE! I WON'T FALL FOR THAT TRICK TWICE!" With a swift motion, Krieg swings his shield, striking Luffy with a heavy "GASHI!!" impact. The blow sends Luffy spinning wildly through the air with "YOJI YOJI YOJI" sound effects.

Don Krieg stands tall with his spiked shield, taunting the airborne Luffy: "THAT HAMMER BRAT WHO CAN'T EVEN SWIM.. I TOLD YOU I'D KILL YOU WITHIN DUE TIME, DIDN'T I!?" Gin remains kneeling in the background, still holding his gas mask. Luffy crashes violently into the mast of the sunken ship section with a loud "BAKII" impact, causing a large explosion of debris. Luffy then plummets toward the ocean, yelling "AGHHH!" as he falls. He hits the water with a large "ZABA" splash. A Baratie cook watches in panic, shouting, "IT'S SINKING!"

Luffy falls through the air, screaming "AGHHH!" as Don Krieg aims his shoulder weapon with a rumbling "DODODODO" sound. On the deck, Gin makes a decision and throws his gas mask away with a "GORORO!!" rolling sound. He curses, "DAMN IT!" The mask lands near Sanji, who is still lying on the deck. Sanji looks at it and mutters, "ERRAND BOY..." In the water, Luffy surfaces and yells angrily at Gin, "GIN! THERE'S NO NEED TO LISTEN TO A BIG COWARD LIKE HIM! I'LL SEND HIM FLYING THIS INSTANT!"

Gin angrily yells at Luffy, "STRAWHAT! DON'T YOU DARE INSULT DON KRIEG! DON KRIEG IS THE STRONGEST MAN. YOU DON'T HAVE A CHANCE OF BEATING HIM." Gin then grabs Sanji by the collar with a "GABA!!" sound. Sanji looks surprised as Gin shouts, "HEY! OPEN YOUR EYES ALREADY! THAT MAN IS TRYING TO KILL YOU!" Gin continues, "OF COURSE HE IS. I'M JUST A FAILURE WHO BROKE HIS CREW'S CODE OF LAW BECAUSE HIS COMPASSIONS GOT IN THE WAY..." Gin then hurls Sanji toward the Baratie with a "POCHAN!!" splash sound. As Sanji flies through the air, he yells, "WHAT! WHY!?" Gin states, "THIS IS WHAT I DESERVE!" Zeff and the Baratie cooks watch, with one cook murmuring, "GIN..."

Don Krieg fires his shoulder-mounted weapon with a massive "BUN!!" and "DON!!" explosion. He roars, "LETHAL POISON GAS BOMB! MH5!" The projectile shoots high into the air. The bomb arcs through the sky with a loud "BUOOOOO" flying sound, heading directly for the Baratie restaurant. On the deck of the Baratie, the cooks look up in sheer terror, screaming "!!?" as the deadly weapon approaches.

In the water, Krieg's crew members, already wearing their gas masks, panic. One yells, "IT'S COMING! CRAP, DIVE AND SWIM AWAY AS FAR AS YOU CAN!" as they splash frantically with a "BABA!!" sound. Don Krieg is shown securing his own gas mask with a "CLICK". Luffy, struggling in the water, reaches out toward two fleeing Baratie cooks and says, "HUH?" He quickly grabs their gas masks right off their faces with a "SUPON!!" pop, declaring, "I'M BORROWIN' THESE!" The cooks yell, "WHA!?" in surprise. On the deck, Sanji struggles to move, thinking, "DAMN IT, THE POISON GAS ISN'T EVEN HERE YET AND I STILL CAN'T MOVE...!" Luffy throws one of the stolen masks toward Sanji with a "HYU!" sound, shouting, "HEY! USE THESE!"

The MH5 poison gas bomb detonates in the sky above the Baratie, releasing a massive, expanding cloud of gas with an "OOOOO" hissing sound. In the water, Luffy looks around frantically, realizing, "WHA!? THEY ALL DOVE UNDERWATER! CRAP, AND I WANTED A MASK TOO!" He startles with a "GIKU!!" sound. Holding his head in panic, Luffy yells, "WHATDOIDO, WHATDOIDO, WHATDOIDO..." until he notices a gas mask rolling near him with a "KORON!!" sound. He pauses, saying, "HM?" Meanwhile, two Baratie cooks run desperately inside the restaurant with a "DADADA" sound, one shouting, "SIR! WE HAVE TO HEAD FAR BACK INSIDE THE RESTAURANT AS WE CAN!" Outside, Zeff stands calmly on the deck, wearing a gas mask, watching the approaching gas cloud. He remarks, "THIS IS MIGHT."

The lethal poison gas cloud rapidly descends, engulfing the Baratie restaurant completely. A loud "BOSHU!!!" hissing sound accompanies the spreading gas. The entire structure is soon obscured by the thick, billowing smoke, with "MOKU MOKU MOKU" sound effects indicating the dense, rolling nature of the toxic cloud covering the area. No characters are visible through the thick gas.

Luffy lies face down on the wooden deck, wearing a gas mask and panting heavily with "HASU HASU" sounds. He says in relief, "WHEW... I'M SAVED... THANK GOD I FOUND THIS MASK LYING ON THE GROUND IN TIME." Don Krieg stands on the wreckage of his ship, looking out toward the gas-covered Baratie. In the water, the Baratie cooks pop their heads above the surface with "ZABA!!" splashes and "PUHA" breaths. Seeing the devastation, one cook says, "PIRATES USING POISON GAS... THIS IS UNHEARD OF!" Another adds, "HE'S A DEMON FOR SURE!"

The Baratie cooks tread water, noticing a change in the air. One says, "IT'S ALREADY BEEN 5 MINUTES... DO YOU THINK SANJI AND THE ERRAND BOY ARE ALRIGHT...?" Another points and shouts, "WHO KNOWS... HEY, LOOK! THE POISON GAS IS CLEARING UP!" The thick gas cloud around the Baratie begins to dissipate, blowing away with an "OOOOO" wind sound. On the deck, Sanji is shown forcefully holding a gas mask over Gin's face. Gin struggles against him. Sanji yells, "MOVE YOUR HAND!" while an off-panel voice cries out, "GIN!"

As the gas clears, Sanji is seen straddling Gin on the deck, having forced the gas mask onto Gin's face. Luffy sits safely in the background. An off-panel voice yells, "GIN!" A close-up reveals Gin in terrible condition; he is trembling violently with "GAKU GAKU GAKU" sounds and coughing up blood that drips with "BOTA BOTA" sounds. He groans, "UGH..." Luffy runs over in shock, screaming, "GIN! WHERE'S YOUR MASK!?" Gin suddenly collapses backward, coughing violently with a "GAKU... TSU!!" sound. Sanji looks down at him in horror. Luffy yells "GIN!" again. In a small inset panel, Luffy remembers throwing the mask toward Sanji and realizes, "DIDN'T I... GIVE YOU A MASK...!?"

Don Krieg smirks from his vantage point, callously stating, "WELL... IDIOTS WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND UNTIL THEY DIE..." He looks at the scene on the deck where Sanji and Luffy stand over the fallen Gin. Krieg continues, "THAT'S WHAT HE GETS FOR THINKING HE'S ETERNALLY INDEBTED JUST FOR RECEIVING SOME GRUB. HAHAHAHA! WHAT A FOOL!" Sanji glares downward, furious and sweating, and says, "IT SEEMS YOU'VE CHOSEN THE WRONG MAN TO FOLLOW!" Gin, trembling uncontrollably with "GAKU GAKU GAKU" sounds and bleeding from his mouth, weakly mutters, "D... ON...?" Krieg's cruel laughter, "HAHAHAHA!", echoes off-panel. Enraged by the betrayal and cruelty, Luffy's face is shown in an extreme close-up, veins bulging as he screams at the top of his lungs, "KRIIIEG!!!"
