Jinbe, with a fierce expression and clenched teeth, declares, "WHO WILL EVENTUALLY CHANGE THE WORLD!!!" A note reads THIS MAN TOOK THEIR PROMISE TO HEART.... A box states "STRAW HAT LUFFY" IS A MAN... A FEW HOURS EARLIER.... In another panel Jinbe shouts, "WILL NOT BE ANY OF THE FOUR YONKO... BUT 'STRAW HAT LUFFY' HIMSELF!!!" while a smaller figure yells, "I AM... WEAK!!!" A voice continues, "HE MAY STILL BE A BIT WET BEHIND THE EARS... BUT I SINCERELY BELIEVE THAT THE ONE WHO WILL RULE THE SEAS..." A massive fish-man with an open mouth cries, "I WISH TO BOARD HIS SHIP AND SACRIFICE THIS LIFE OF MINE FOR HIM IF NEED BE!!!" Another adds, "I WOULD LIKE TO AID THIS MAN IN HIS ENDEAVORS!!!" Narration states, "I ASSUME THAT THESE ACTIONS WILL, IN THE END, RESULT IN A FIGHT FOR THE TRUE FREEDOM FOR THE FISHMAN RACE AS WELL!"

Jinbe continues passionately, "IF YOUR PASSION AND TRUST IN THIS MAN IS HONEST AND JUST... I DO NOT SEE ANY REASON WHY YOU SHOULD NOT TURN YOUR WORDS INTO ACTIONS." On the right, Jinbe sweats and stammers, "YOU GUYS... REALLY OKAY WITH THIS...I!"

A large fish-man declares, "BUT YOU'VE PROTECT OUR KINGDOM USING HER NAME!" while another adds, "WAS NOT ONLY TO PROTECT ALL OF US..." A voice continues, "...AND WE KNOW YOUR REASONS FOR JOINING BIG MOM AS ONE OF HER SUBORDINATE CREWS..." In the background crowd, someone calls out, "CAPTAIN, YOU'VE ALWAYS MADE DECISIONS IN YOUR LIFE BASED ON HOW IT WOULD BENEFIT THOSE AROUND YOU!" Three close-up panels show fish-men shouting, "HEAR, HEAR!! PLEASE THINK ABOUT YOURSELF FOR ONCE, JINBE!!" and "YOU NO LONGER NEED TO CARRY THAT BURDEN, JINBE." In a dramatic close-up, Jinbe's face fills the frame with wide eyes and an open mouth as he says, "IT'S OKAY TO FOLLOW YOUR OWN DESIRES AND BE A BIT SELFISH!!!" A final voice states, "FROM THIS POINT FORWARD..."

Aladine stands with arms crossed, his massive form dominating the foreground as he speaks with deep gratitude. "...I HAVE NO WORDS FOR HOW GRATEFUL I AM!!" Nearby fishmen shout encouragement: "WE CAN MANAGE PERFECTLY FINE OURSELVES, SO DON'T YOU WORRY ABOUT US!!" and "YEAH CAPTAIN! GO ON JINBE!" Aladine continues, "I MEAN, SINCE HE'S TIED THE KNOT WITH MISS PRALINE AND IS NOW A MEMBER OF BIG MOM'S IMMEDIATE FAMILY AND ALL..." Inset panels show the crew in the background reacting with concern. "I DOUBT BIG MOM WILL LET HIM OFF THE HOOK SO EASILY... EVEN IF WE ALL SUPPORT HIS DECISION,...IN ANY CASE..." Charlotte Praline bursts into the scene with a dramatic pose, her hammerhead shark features and flowing dress swirling as she cries out, "SHOULDN'T YOU BOYS BE A BIT MORE WORRIED ABOUT LI' OLE' MEI MY, OH MY!" The fishmen react in shock: "WOAH!! MISS!!" and "WE'RE YOU EAVESDROPPING THIS ENTIRE TIME...I!" A caption box reads: "29TH DAUGHTER OF THE CHARLOTTE FAMILY CHARLOTTE PRALINE (HAMMERHEAD SHARK HALF MERMAID)". Praline continues her emotional outburst, "NO, OF COURSE NOT! I'M SURE I'LL BE ABLE TO NEGOTIATE WITH HER!! IF ALL THIS DOESN'T SIT WELL WITH MAMAI! ALADINE!! DON'T TELL ME THAT YOU'RE PLANNING ON DESERTING ME... WHATI! Praline clings passionately to Aladine, hearts floating around them as she declares, "KYAAAHHH,♡ SUCH PASSIONATE LOVEEE!!♡ TAKE ME WITH YOU IN THE EVENT THAT ANYTHING HAPPENS♡ YOU KNOW THAT I'D CHOOSE YOU OVER MAMA ANY DAY OF THE WEEK, DARLING♡" Aladine sweats nervously while fishmen panic in the background. One fishman yells, "NEGOTIATEI! THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO NEED!!" Another replies, "YOU WOULDN'T BE THE FIRST PERSON WHO'D TRY TO LEAVE... WELL NOW, LET'S SEE... The scene shifts to Whole Cake Island's Sweet City at the present time. A large sign reads "WHOLE CAKE ISLAND, PRESENT TIME CAPITAL, 'SWEET CITY'". Chaos erupts as citizens scream, "SIR MOSCATO HAS DIED!!" and "SIR MOSCATO!!!" A top-hatted figure lies dead in the street. Charlotte Mont-d'Or and others rush in. "YES MA'AM. HURRY UP AND REMOVE THE BODY." "MOVE ASIDE." "PLEASE DON'T LEAVE US, SIR MOSCATO!!!" One character wails, "WAAHHH!" In the lower panels, Mont-d'Or clutches his head in panic: "HELL IF I KNOW!! THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY FOR CERTAIN IS THAT WHEN MAMA FLIES INTO A RAGE, NO ONE IS SAFE... NOT EVEN HER OWN SON!! HEY, SIR MONT D'OR!! WILL BOSS JINBE ALSO BE KILLEDI! DO NOT LEAVE FOR EVEN A SINGLE SECOND, DO YOU HEAR MEII"

At Whole Cake Chateau in Sweet City, Big Mom looms on her throne as Jinbe stands before her. She growls, "So... you want to cut ties with me..." while a sign reads "WHOLE CAKE CHATEAU". Her subordinates panic, shouting "PLEASE DON'T LEAVE, BOSS!! WHY MUST YOU GOI!" and "WHY BOSSI!" as one yells "SILENCE!!!" and another "SQUEE!!". Jinbe replies firmly, "Hey, we're both pirates... We should try to live freely, just as all pirates strive to do." Big Mom snaps back, "DON'T ASK IDIOTS WHO WISH TO LEAVE WHY THEY WANT TO LEAVE!!" and declares, "I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT HIS REASONS...!!!"

Big Mom continues, "JINBE... YOUR DEPARTURE WOULD CAUSE A HUGE VOID AND COST ME A VALUABLE AND POWERFUL RESOURCE...!!!" Jinbe answers, "Well, sure..." She roars, "HOWEVER, YOU'VE BROUGHT SHAME UPON MY HOUSE BY SUGGESTING THAT YOU WANTED TO TERMINATE OUR BONDS AS A FAMILY." Close-ups show her furious face as she yells, "THAT'S THE ONLY WAY WE COULD CALL THIS A FAIR TRADE, WOULDN'T YOU AGREEI!" and "DON'T YOU 'SURE' ME!!! IT'S ONLY FAIR THAT YOU LOSE SOMETHING VALUABLE AS WELL!!" A massive roulette wheel appears with the cry "THAT YOU'LL BE LOSING!!!" and the order "BRING IN THE 'ROULETTE'!!" as a subordinate reacts "EH...I!" and another laughs "HAAA-AAAA... HAHAHA HAHA" while Big Mom asks, "NOW THEN, WHAT EXACTLY WILL IT BE..."

Night falls over the sea near Whole Cake Island. A map labels locations including Nuts, Biscuits, Cacao, Jam, Cheese, and Candy. On the Thousand Sunny, Luffy's crew faces a swarm of ants. Luffy complains, "CAN'T WE JUST STOP HERE AND GO TO SLEEP FOR A WHILEI" while someone replies "IT'S SO SWEET!!" and another warns "ARE YOU NUTS!! WHAT'RE WE GONNA DO IF THOSE ANTS START ATTACKING US AGAINI!" The crew discusses melting the ants with fire, noting "IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE IF YOU COULD HAVE MENTIONED THAT A BIT EARLIER!!" and "THIS START TO FLOW ONCE THE WARMTH OF THE SUN RETURNS DURING THE DAY..." Pedro shouts "ROGER THAT!!" as flames erupt. Nami asks about past experiences, and Brook recalls his ship being eaten, while Pedro explains he temporarily put the ants to sleep.

Pedro recounts his past: "I THOUGHT I WAS SIMPLY AN EXPLORER, BUT THEY ENDED UP PUTTING A BOUNTY ON MY HEAD." Luffy reacts with shock "WHAAI! FOR REALI!" as Carrot adds, "PEDRO USED TO BE A PIRATE, JUST LIKE PEKOMS!" Pedro continues, "I ONLY ACCOMPANIED PEKOMS MIDWAY." He explains their journey to find Poneglyphs for Nekomamushi, saying "BUT WE WERE ON A JOURNEY TO DISCOVER PONEGLYPHS...!!!" and "WE JUST WANTED TO BE AN ASSET TO OUR MASTER NEKOMAMUSHI IN ANY WAY THAT WE COULD." Pedro concludes grimly, "THE TRUTH IS, I'VE FALLEN HERE BEFORE!!!" and "THE DAY WE FINALLY STEPPED FOOT INTO BIG MOM'S TERRITORY... WOULD BE THE LAST DAY OF OUR JOURNEY." Carrot listens with concern as the crew reacts in surprise.

The mink leader growls, "WHEN I FIRST HEARD OF THIS, I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EARS. THOUGH YOU ALL ARE OUR SAVIORS... THE LAST TIME WE SHOWED THAT TO OUTSIDERS WHO WEREN'T MEMBERS OF THE KOZUKI CLAN WAS... I WAS TOLD OUR DUKE AND MASTER SHOWED YOU ALL OUR 'ROAD PONEGLYPH'." Luffy replies simply, "YUP."

Luffy's eyes widen as the mink explains, "AFTERWARDS, ROGER MADE IT TO RAFTEL AND BECAME KNOWN AS 'PIRATE KING'." The crew's ship sails past a massive waterfall while explosions erupt nearby. "THE PIRATE KINGI!" Luffy shouts. The mink continues, "FEELS LIKE AGES SINCE WE'VE SHOWN THE PONEGLYPH TO GOL D. ROGER AND HIS CREW. PRECISELY 26 YEARS AGO...!!!" Brook's skull face adds, "THEY MUST BE CONFIDENT THAT YOU LOT WILL BECOME PEOPLE WHO... WILL END UP NEEDING THE 'ROAD PONEGLYPH'!!!" Nami and the others listen intently. The mink declares, "I BELIEVE THAT DUKE INUARASHI AND MASTER NEKOMAMUSHI..." Luffy asks, "AND IF THIS IS THE CASE, YOU WILL NOT HAVE A BETTER OPPORTUNITY THAN THIS!!" The mink finishes, "AFTER THAT, YOU WILL SURELY NEED TO MAKE USE OF THE ROAD PONEGLYPH BIG MOM POSSESSES!!!" Luffy questions, "WHA... THAT'S SO FAR IN THE FUTU... WHAT WILL YOU DO AFTER YOU DEFEAT KAIDOI!" The mink replies with a fierce grin.

The mink leader proposes, "WHEN WE ARRIVE AT THE ISLAND, WOULD YOU MIND BUYING ME A BIT OF TIMEI I PROMISE THAT I WILL SUCCESSFULLY STEAL THE PONEGLYPH THIS TIME AROUND!!" Nami answers, "WELL, ROBIN DID ASK US TO DO PRETTY MUCH WHAT YOU JUST SAID SO..." The mink adds, "IN ADDITION TO RESCUING YOUR CREWMATE SANJI!! IT WOULD BE WISE FOR YOU TO STEAL HER ROAD PONEGLYPH..." Luffy shouts, "OK, THEN THAT'S THE PLAN!!" Carrot laughs, "HAHAHA" while Nami reacts with surprise. The mink says, "ALRIGHTY THEN, I'LL LEAVE IT TO YOU!! SHISHISHI." Luffy questions, "WAIT, THAT SOUNDED WAY TOO EASY..." The group debates, "NO... PLEASE FOCUS YOUR ATTENTION ON SANJI. THEN WE'LL GO WITH YOU!! WHATI! IF IT'S FOR OUR SAKE, THINGS WILL GET FAR MORE COMPLICATED ONCE YOU'VE MANAGED TO TAKE HIM BACK!" Brook wonders, "HMI" while a small creature makes noise "SFX: GRRRR GRRR". Someone yells, "THE ANTS ARE AWAKE!!" Brook laughs, "YOHO HOHO~" as the mink declares, "I SUPPOSE LUFFY... WAS SIMPLY BORN WITH THIS KIND OF FATE!!"

The crew stares in awe at the massive island shaped like a cake. Luffy exclaims, "CASTLE~~~I!" The mink explains, "IS THE CASTLE WHERE BIG MOM CURRENTLY RESIDES. THE TALLEST CAKE YOU CAN SEE IN THE DISTANCE..." Nami points excitedly, "YES! I'VE HEARD THAT THAT CAPE OVER THERE IS THE ONLY LOCATION WHERE THE SECURITY DOESN'T MAKE THEIR ROUNDS! NAMI, SHOULD I CONTINUE GOING STRAIGHTI" Luffy cheers, "OOO-OOOH!!!" as the ship approaches. Someone shouts, "THERE'S SOMEONE STANDING AT THE COAST!!!" Luffy yells, "IT'S GINORMOUS!!! SO THIS IS THE ISLAND WHERE A YONKO LIVES!!!" The massive Whole Cake Island looms ahead with waterfalls of icing. The next morning, Luffy bursts out, "HEEEEY!!! WAKE UP, GUYS!!! WE'RE HERE!!!" The crew reacts with shock and excitement as the ship nears the coast. "WOA-AAH!!" they cry while the island's enormous scale becomes clear.
