The King of the Land of Death

A massive explosion rocks the snowy mountain facility as huge black letters spell "ズドォォーン!!!". The wide establishing shot reveals the ruined laboratory complex half-buried in snow and smoke. Below, inside the collapsing structure, a man with a forehead scar and swirling hair shouts in alarm, "THE CEILING JUST ROSE UP!!!". Nearby characters scream in panic: "KYA AHHH HH!!", "UWAH HHHHHH HHHHH", and other cries of "ハア アアア！" as debris and gas fill the air. The chapter title "CHAPTER 691 – THE KING OF THE LAND OF DEATH" is displayed at the bottom of the top panel.

Panic spreads as the ceiling collapses and gas seeps in. A long-haired woman yells, "HEY THIS IS NO TIME TO BE GETTING SCARED, YOU BRATS!! GET UP AND KEEP RUNNING!!" while others cry "WAH HHHH HH!!", "I'M SCARED, MISS", and "THIS IS BAD". Someone adds, "AND THE GAS STARTED SEEPING IN THROUGH THE CRACKS!!". In the next section a dark-haired woman carrying a large man protests, "BUT NEVER MIND THAT. P… PUT ME DOWN PLEASE! THIS IS EMBARRASSING!!" as the man she carries shouts "WE'VE RUN INTO G-5 FROM THE FRONT!I SEE– I KNEW YOU HAD GONE THE WRONG WAY!!". A voice replies, "EH!I". On the right, relieved characters exclaim "THANK GOD YOU'RE ALRIGHT!!! I GUESS YOU BEAT THAT BIRD-WOMAN!I" and "AH!! IT'S CAPTAIN-CHAN!!". The carried man wonders, "BUT WHY ARE YOU RUNNING AT US FROM THE FRONT!I I THOUGHT YOU WERE COVERING FOR US FROM BEHIND!!" while a small "!I" reaction floats nearby.

The Straw Hats and allies scramble through collapsing corridors as debris rains down. Zoro carries an unconscious Tashigi over his shoulder while the group shouts in panic. "HURRY, EVERYONE!!" "ZORO! TURN AROUND! THE OTHER WAY!!" an enraged voice bellows. "YOU ASS-HOLE! WHO GAVE YOU PERMISSION TO CARRY TASHIGI-CHAN!!" A massive impact SFX "クレアッ!!!" shakes the frame. In the next section Chopper yells desperately, "CHOPPER-YAN!! WE CAN'T STAY HERE ANYMORE!!" as the ceiling buckles. "THE CEILING IS COLLAPSING!!" reads a sign on the wall: "B-BLOCK, 2ND FLOOR: EXAMINATION ROOM." Below, a massive figure hauls an injured comrade through smoke and rubble. "OF COURSE, JUST LEAVE IT TO US!!" "LET'S HURRY TO R-BLOCK!!" "RIGHT!! I'VE DONE ALL I CAN FOR NOW!!" The big man calls out, "MOCHYA!! HANG IN THERE!! WE'RE GONNA ESCAPE" while panting, "HAA... HAA..."

A deafening explosion rocks D-Block. "ドォー---" A massive SAD tank erupts in flames and flying debris inside the S.A.D. Production Room. Law's silhouette is hurled through the blast. Speech bubbles reveal his thoughts: "WITH LAW HAVING TAKEN THIS INCONCEIVABLE REVENGE ON ME...!!!" "HOW AM I GOING TO EAT BREAKFAST TOMORROW..." "...SHIT." In the lower panels a tall figure in a black coat with "正義" (Justice) on the back stands over a fallen man. "REMEMBER THIS WELL..." the standing man says. "BUT YOU WILL REGRET IT." Another voice replies, "THIS WAS QUITE UNEXPECTED..." "YOU'VE DONE A THOROUGH JOB... LAW."

Vergo's scarred face fills the panel, sunglasses glinting. "!I" Smoker reacts off-panel. Vergo declares, "AND THAT WILL BE YOUR DOWNFALL!!" "YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING OF JOKER'S PAST." He continues, "A COUPLE OF BRATS WITH JUST A BIT OF POWER ARE NOTHING IN THE SCOPE OF THIS WORLD...!!!" "TELL HIM, SMOKER" "BY A ROOKIE WHO'S MADE A BIT OF A NAME FOR HIMSELF" "THE WORLD IS NOT SO SHALLOW AS TO BE OVER-TURNED." Smoke puffs from his cigar. Later, Law stands with his back to Vergo, who grips his shoulder. "THIS ROOM IS ABOUT TO BE BLOWN AWAY." Law answers calmly, "WORRY ABOUT YOURSELF FOR NOW..." "YOU DON'T NEED TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT ME." A caption reads: "LATER..." "PIRATE" VERGO.

A close-up shows a furious, scarred face shouting, "THE ONLY ONE WHO COULD HAVE DONE THIS...!!!" SFX "カチリッ" A sign reads "R-BLOCK, 1ST FLOOR." In the ruined area Kin'emon emerges from rubble yelling, "MASTER!!!" "OUR COMRADE IS STUCK UNDER THIS RUBBLE" "MASTER!! WHAT'S GOING ON HERE!I" "PEH... WHAT THE HELL IS VERGO DOING...!!!" "IS LAW, RIGHT...!!!I" A massive gas cloud billows. Elsewhere a small figure with a transponder snail reports, "Y...YES, MASTER. WHAT'S HAPPENING...I" "SECRET ROOM" - GIVE ME A RESPONSE!!!" "CAN YOU HEAR ME UP ON THE SECOND FLOOR OF R-BLOCK!I" "WHAT'S GOING ON NOWI" A battered man on the ground curses, "SHIT! YOU BASTARDS WENT AND SCREWED UP MY PARADISE...!!!" Nearby someone worries, "I HOPE EVERYONE'S ALRIGHT.."

In the ruined laboratory, Caesar Clown's massive face looms as he barks orders. "UNDERSTOOD!! SO AFTER WE GET THE REST OF OUR COMRADES BACK UP HERE... DO IT NOW!!" A subordinate confirms, "LET SHINOKUNI FLOW INTO THIS ROOM!!!" Caesar snarls, "I WON'T DIE, BECAUSE I'M 'GAS' ITSELF!!!" and commands, "OPEN THE VENTS IMMEDIATELY!!" Below, in the gas-filled corridors, soldiers protest, "BUT THERE ARE STILL OVER 100 MEN DOWN THERE..." Caesar roars back, "I SAID IMMEDIATELY!! STOP DRAGGING YOUR FEET ABOUT IT!! SHINOKUNI WILL BE MY TRUE POWER!!!" A soldier collapses, "UUUHHH HHH!!!" Caesar's deranged grin fills the panel as he declares, "DO YOU THINK I CARE, FOOL!I NO MATTER HOW MANY HUNDREDS OF YOU GUINEA PIGS DIE NO ONE WILL SHED A TEAR FOR THE LOSS OF SOCIETY'S FILTH!!"

From the control room overlooking the gas chamber, Caesar continues his rant on the monitor: "I CAN ALWAYS REPLACE ANY NUMBER OF YOU!! HURRY UP AND DO IT!! ARE YOU HEARING ME!I" Nearby, a sweating marine with an afro stares at the screen and thinks, "I THINK I CAN SEE ZORO AND THE OTHERS ON THAT MONITOR...!! IT LOOKS LIKE THEY'RE RUNNING FROM THE GAS" while another wonders, "I WONDER IF I CAN ALSO OPERATE THE GATE FROM UP HERE!I" The soldiers watch in horror as the gas spreads. One mutters, "BUT AT LEAST THEY SEEM TO HAVE FORGOTTEN ABOUT ME" and another remarks, "JUST LIKE BROWNBEARD, IT SEEMS LIKE THEY'VE FINALLY UNDERSTOOD CAESAR'S TRUE NATURE... WHAT A MEEK BUNCH... YOWCH..."

The gas surges violently through the facility as soldiers reel in panic. One marine cries, "EH... IT'S... IT'S NOTHING" while another stares in shock, "WHAT'S WITH THAT LOOK... HUH... OI..." The men begin to realize the truth. "WE'VE HURT MASTER'S FEELINGS BY DOUBTING HIM LIKE THIS!!" "THE KILLER GAS IS ALL PART OF HIS STRATEGY, TOO" "RIGHT! THAT'S IT!" "IT'S ALL AN ACT TO FOOL MASTER'S ENEMIES...!!!" A soldier shouts, "A GUY WHO WOULD HARM HIS MEN!I OUR MASTER!I" Caesar's face erupts in manic laughter, "AH, SO THAT'S IT!! I GOT IT!!"

Caesar Clown transforms into a massive swirling cloud of gas, arms raised in triumph. "SHURA RORORA RARA!!!" The narration box reads, "THANKS TO THE SHOWING OF MY EXPERIMENT, TWO COUNTRIES HAVE ALREADY PUT IN FOR MY WEAPON, 'SHINOKUNI'... TWO PARTICULARLY PEACEFUL COUNTRIES." Caesar bellows, "I, THE KING OF THE LAND OF DEATH, WILL FILL THIS WORLD WITH WEAPONS!! SHURORO RORORA RORA!! BEHOLD!! THIS IS MY... POWER OF SCIENCE!!" Below, Luffy stands watching with a serious expression. A soldier reports, "MASTER!! WE'VE OPENED THE VENTS!!" as the deadly gas floods in. Caesar laughs, "VERY GOOD. YOU SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED MY ORDERS FROM THE START. THERE IS NO NEED TO BE THINKING. NOW, BECOME MY POWER, SHINOKUNI!!"

Panic erupts as a massive white creature rampages through the facility. Minions scream in terror, one shouting "STOP..." while another yells "MASTER" amid swirling smoke and debris. Brownbeard lies sprawled on the ground, roaring in pain as the beast looms over him. Luffy stands nearby with a shocked expression, eyes wide. In the next moment, Luffy dashes forward with fierce determination. Brownbeard shouts, "WH... WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THAT" and "EH!I UNDER-STOOD" as Luffy calls out, "MOMO... BROWNBEARD, STAY PUT AND WATCH!!" The creature continues its rampage with heavy impact sounds and motion lines filling the panels.

Brownbeard stares in disbelief, exclaiming "DOES HE REALLY JUST SEE US" and "HE GOT THEM!!! OUR COMRADES!!! WHAT'S HE THINKING!I MASTER!!" while questioning if they are "AS NOTHING MORE THAN GUINEA PIGS...!I" Caesar Clown's massive hand looms in close-up as he laughs "SHURORORORORORO!! THIS IS INCREDIBLE, IF I DO SAY SO MYSELF!!" and notes the speed affecting nerves. In the corridor, Luffy sprints away as Caesar yells "OI!! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING, STRAWHAT LUFFY!! SHURORORORO!!" and taunts "GET COLD FEET ALL OF A SUDDEN!I WHAT A DISGRACEFUL GUY!!" A voice warns "B-BUT, B-BLOCK, WHICH THAT CORRIDOR LEADS TO, IS ALREADY NEARLY FILLED WITH SHINOKUNI!!! THERE'S NOWHERE LEFT FOR YOU TO RUN TO ON THIS ISLAND. IT'S OVER, FOR ALL OF YOU!!"

Brownbeard reacts with shock, shouting "!I... OH RIGHT, THAT GUY IS STILL HERE!! THE STRAWHAT CREW MEMBER!!" as he grips the control panel and declares "SORRY TO BREAK THIS TO YOU IN YOUR MOMENT OF GRIEF, BUT I'M GOING TO NEED YOU TO HAND OVER THAT CONTROL PANEL" and "I NEED TO PROTECT MY FRIENDS FROM THE GAS!!" Marines and subordinates argue among themselves: "HEY, HEY, DON'T YOU THINK YOU CAN GO AND BADMOUTH MY CAPTAIN TO MY FACE...!!" "DIDN'T YOU JUST SEE YOUR CAPTAIN RUNNING AWAY FROM CAESAR!!I" "BUT...!! YOU GUYS ARE IN THE SAME BOAT, RIGHT!!I" "WE'VE JUST BEEN HORRIBLY BETRAYED" "YOU SAW ALL OF THAT JUST NOW, YOU BASTARDI" One laughs "HAHA!! JUST TAKE A LOOK!!" while another states "IT SEEMS LIKE HE'S ABANDONED YOU AND GONE OFF TO MAKE HIS ESCAPE" and "IT'S ALL OVER. NO ONE IS A MATCH FOR HIM ANYMORE...!!! THERE'S NOWHERE TO RUN...!!" In the corridor, Luffy continues running as an explosion erupts behind him with "ZUDODODODON" and a voice notes "THINGS MIGHT HAVE BEEN A LOT EASIER!!"

Luffy leaps through the air with a powerful "DOKAAAAN!!" impact as narration states "STUBBORNLY, HE BELIEVES..." A close-up shows Caesar Clown's grinning face with "EVEN IF WE MAY WANT TO TURN TAIL AND RUN!!" Luffy presses forward through the gas-filled corridor while voices declare "WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GIVE IN AND MOVE FORWARD!!" and "BECAUSE THERE IS NO LIMIT TO HIS BELIEF IN US..." Brownbeard stands resolute, shouting "WE WILL ANSWER HIS CALL!!" and "SO AS LONG AS WE LIVE" In the final panels, Luffy runs as Caesar watches from a monitor, with a voice saying "TAKE A LOOK. CAESAR IS THE TYPE OF MAN WHO LUFFY HATES THE MOST!!" Explosions and motion effects fill the scene.

A massive figure with wild long hair and antler-like horns reels back from the blow, mouth open in a roar. Speech bubbles burst across the page: "WON'T FORGIVE CAESAR!!" and "LUFFY".
