VERSUS BUGGY'S CREW!

A massive KRAASH...! echoes across the ruined street of Orange Town as buildings collapse in clouds of dust and rubble. Debris flies everywhere. In the next panel, a giant striped arm smashes through wreckage with loud KRAK... KLUNK... THUD... sounds, sending more structures toppling. At the bottom, three characters react in sequence. A man with crossed arms shouts, "HOW CAN YOU INFLATE YOURSELF LIKE A BALLOON!I" Luffy, wearing his straw hat, exclaims, "WHAT KIND OF HUMAN BEING COULD DO THATI!...I MEAN, YOU DID PILE-DRIVE A LION!" Nami stares in shock and amazement, replying, "WOW, I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOMETHING STRANGE ABOUT YOU..."

A massive booted foot slams down with a thunderous DA-DOOM and KLAK KLAK KLAK..., sending dust flying as Luffy's stretchy leg retracts. Nami stares in shock at the ballooned limb while Luffy grins and laughs DA—DA. She yells, "BUT HOW DO YOU DO IT!I" and "IDIOT!!" as Luffy replies, "...BALLOON!! THAT WAS THE GUM-GUM..." In the next scene Luffy stands with a serious expression, Nami looks worried with hands near her face saying "UH-OH...", and a black-capped man watches with arms crossed. Below, three furious Buggy pirates react violently: a pigtail-wearing man, a bald man, and the roaring lion Richie with mouth wide open. One of them growls, "YOU'VE GOT SOME NERVE..."

Close-up panels show the black-capped man's stern glare, Luffy's wide excited grin, and Nami's shocked face with sweat drops as she exclaims, "HE'S USING HIS MEN AS SHIELDS..." The bottom half erupts into a massive splash page with giant lettering SHAAAA. Mohji, wearing a fur-lined coat and jester-like hat, throws his hands forward in rage, shouting "I'M SO MAD, I CAN'T EVEN SPEAK..." Beside him the giant lion Richie rears up with jaws open, while a crew member behind him yells, "CAP'N, THIS IS THE WORST DISGRACE WE'VE SUFFERED SINCE YOU FORMED OUR CREW..."

Amid the rubble of Orange Town, a dazed Mohji stirs as Cabaji looms over him. "MOHJI... YOU'RE STILL ALIVEI" someone asks. Mohji groans, "UNH... WHERE AM I... WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED!I" Cabaji explains coldly, "I WAS USING HIM AS A SHIELD. DIDN'T WANT TO SOIL MY RAIMENT." A small voice pipes up, "THE KITTYI" Cabaji whirls in fury, "CABAJI! WHAT'RE YOU DOING TO RICHIE!I" Richie the lion snarls and lunges, "GULP!!" "GAROOWRRR!" "SHIVER SHIVER" as Mohji shouts desperately, "WHY YOU...!!!" Cabaji coughs from the impact, "KOFF KOFF" while calling out, "RICHIE!I ARE YOU OKAY!I"

Buggy's crew reacts in shock as Luffy bounces into view. "HE'S GOT SPECIAL POWERS FROM EATING THE DEVIL FRUIT-- JUST LIKE YOU!!! HE'S A RUBBER MAN!!!" someone yells. "GASP! IT'S THE KID IN THE STRAW HAT!! CAP'N BUGGY, WATCH OUT FOR HIM!!" Mohji warns Buggy, "MOHJI, IF YOU KNEW THAT..." Buggy grins, "HAH... THAT'S WHY MY BUGGY BALL BOUNCED OFF OF HIM! THE DEVIL FRUIT!!!" Luffy and Nami stand ready as Luffy confirms, "YEP... SEEI RUBBER MAN!I" Buggy's face twists in rage, "I TRIED TO! WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!I" as he lunges forward with a furious "WOING".

Luffy charges forward through the streets of Orange Town, fist raised and shouting "OUTTA MY WAY, FUZZY!" A striped-shirt figure stands nearby watching. In the next panel Luffy yells "OUTTA MY WAY!!!" as a massive lion-like beast with a flowing mane hurtles through the air in a huge "WHOOSH," limbs flailing. Townspeople in the background react with shock as the creature crashes past them, accompanied by a loud "GYAA!" In the large bottom panel the beast is sent flying backward in dramatic impact lines, while Luffy's straw-hatted form is seen from below, leg extended from the powerful kick that launched it. The beast's eyes are wide with pain and surprise as debris and motion lines fill the frame.

The fight erupts. A striped-shirt fighter leaps high with a spinning kick, "SKRORSH," as Luffy watches from the foreground, hand to his hat, declaring "THE BATTLE BEGINS!!" The acrobat lands amid dust clouds. In the middle panel the same fighter, now revealed as Nami, crouches and shouts "I'LL CUT 'EM TO MINCE-MEAT, CAP'N!!" while swinging her staff; nearby text identifies "BUGGY'S SECOND MATE, CABAJI THE ACROBAT!!" with "BRBRBRBR" motion lines. The bottom panel shows Luffy and Roronoa Zoro side-by-side, Zoro drawing both swords in a crossed stance that produces a loud metallic "KRANG!!" Luffy looks on with wide eyes as impact effects burst around them.

The swordsman with the checkered scarf glares at Zoro and declares, "IT WILL BE AN HONOR TO CUT YOU DOWN." He continues, "RORO-NOA ZOLO, AS ONE SWORDS-MAN TO AN-OTHER... IF IT'S A SWORD DUEL YOU WANT, I'M YOUR MAN!" Luffy, standing nearby with Nami watching from the background, urges, "HEY, ZOLO! MAYBE YOU SHOULD REST. LET ME HANDLE HIM." The swordsman lunges forward on his unicycle, shouting "THE BREATH OF DEATH"! as he delivers a powerful spinning slash. Zoro is struck hard, crying out "WAGH!" with impact sounds "FWOO" and "GUN" erupting around him. A voice notes, "HE COULDN'T HAVE HEALED YET FROM THE WOUNDS THE CAPTAIN GAVE HIM. I'M SURPRISED HE CAN EVEN STAND..."

Zoro is sent flying backward from the fierce strike, his body twisting through the air with motion lines and "WOOSH" effects. The swordsman on the unicycle presses the assault, blades flashing. Zoro recovers mid-air and counters with a powerful slash, landing a heavy blow marked by massive "FW AK" impact lettering. Luffy watches in shock, gasping "GASP!" Nami reacts with wide eyes, murmuring "OOH...!" as the clash intensifies.

Nami glares angrily at the fight, sweat on her face as she shouts, "THAT'S DIRTY! YOU'RE AIMING FOR HIS INJURIES!!" The acrobat in the helmet reels from a blow, muttering "HMM... I DIDN'T THINK I KICKED YOU THAT HARD..." before yelling "YEEOWW!!" and laughing "HEHEHEH HEH!" A massive close-up shows the same man screaming in agony "ARRRGGHHH!!!" as impact lines explode around him. Below, the swordsman Cabaji leaps into action on a unicycle, declaring "I CALL MY NEXT CIRCUS TRICK..." while massive onomatopoeia "WHOO SHII" and the shouted title "MURDER AT THE STEAM BATH"!!! fill the panel. He speeds forward with blades drawn amid "CHUK" and "KRASP KRASP" sound effects.

Cabaji continues his assault on the unicycle, taunting "YOU'RE JUST KICKING UP DUST!!" as dust clouds and "SSHH SSHH HUF HUF" and "BB BUMP" effects surround him. An off-panel voice yells "WHAT KIND OF CIRCUS TRICK IS THAT!I" In the next panel Cabaji clashes swords violently with his opponent, the impact "CHAAANK" and "SPLAT" ringing out as blades cross. The fight erupts into motion lines and debris. A small panel shows a surprised "HUHI" reaction, followed by Cabaji smirking confidently "HEH HEH..." while gripping his swords.

A massive impact erupts as Cabaji, riding his unicycle, delivers a powerful spinning kick. The huge onomatopoeia KERWAA fills the top of the page. Below, Luffy stands in the left panel with a shocked expression, sweat drop visible. In the center, Cabaji's attack sends Zoro crashing to the ground with a SLUMP, swords flying. Nami watches from the foreground. Speech bubbles read: "WHAT KIND OF MAN SCREAMS LIKE A WOMANI" and "HE DID IT AGAIN!!" Cabaji's face twists in a fierce grin as he shouts "UN GAA H!!" and "SPURP" while the strike lands.

Cabaji balances on his unicycle in the street and taunts the fallen swordsman: "SO YOU'RE THE BIG SCARY 'PIRATE HUNTER.' WELL, THIS'LL TEACH YOU TO MESS WITH CAP'N BUGGY'S CREW." Another bubble adds, "YOUR MATEY'S ODD TALENTS CAUSED US QUITE A BIT OF TROUBLE." Nami yells at Luffy, "HOW CAN YOU JUST STAND THERE AND WATCH YOUR FRIEND GET KILLED!I" while thinking "ZOLO'S HURT BAD! HOW'S HE SUPPOSED TO FIGHT!I" Luffy remains silent with "..." Zoro lies on the wet ground, huffing "HUFF!! HUFF...! HUFF...!" Cabaji raises his sword and declares "PREPARE TO BE WELL DONE!! RORONOA ZOLO!!" with dramatic speed lines and "FW" and "GOOSH" effects.

A massive impact erupts as a swordsman with a heavily bandaged torso is struck from behind, blades flashing wildly. "UNGH!I" he grunts. Cabaji stands nearby, sweat on his face, gripping his sword. "YOU'RE A VERY ANNOYING PERSON..." he says with a fierce glare. "SNIP" "HUF" sound effects punctuate his stance. "I HOPE YOU ENJOYED KICKING MY WOUND..." he continues. In the next instant, a devastating slash lands with a "FWUK" impact, sending the bandaged fighter flying backward in a dramatic arc. Nami stares in shock, eyes wide and sweat flying, whispering "HOW...I" Luffy's face lights up with excitement as he shouts "YEAH!!" A small inset shows a cannonball-like object rolling near a skull-and-crossbones flag.

A powerful horizontal slash cuts through the air with a huge "SLISH!!" effect, the bandaged swordsman swinging both blades in a wide arc, sweat flying from the force. Below, reactions explode across panels: a skull flag jolts with "!", Luffy grimaces with "OUCH!", Nami covers her mouth in disbelief with "!I", and Cabaji stares wide-eyed, yelling "WHAT!!!" A narration box reads "HE CUT HIMSELF!I" as the dramatic moment hangs in the air.

In the town square, the tall swordsman in a checkered scarf glares and demands, "WHAT'RE YOU TALKING ABOUT...I" Roronoa Zoro stands firm and states, "MY GOAL IS TO BE THE WORLD'S GREATEST SWORDSMAN..." He draws his blade with a sharp "HOOPH!!!" The opponent readies his own sword and declares, "NOW I'LL SHOW YOU SOME REAL SWORDPLAY." Zoro, sweat pouring down, grips his swords and asks, "IS THAT ENOUGH OF A HANDICAP FOR YOUI" A heavy "CHUNK" sounds as the blades clash. The scarf-wearing swordsman snarls, "YOU WANT TO MAKE A FOOL OUT OF MEI" Zoro answers with a cool "HMPH... SO, RORONOA ZORO..." From the side, Monkey D. Luffy watches with wide eyes and cheers, "WOW! ZOLO'S COOL!!"
