The cover story opens under "Chapter 906: The Holy Land Mary Geoise" and continues "Dropping in on the Lives of the Straw Hat Grand Pirate Fleet." This installment follows Orlumbus's daily routine aboard ship after cleaning, presenting him as painfully strict and orderly while Columbus stands nearby. It is not part of the main Reverie scene, but it is useful canon side-story material because it continues the Grand Fleet cover serial and preserves the chapter's printed title context.

The Bondola carries the royal party upward until it reaches near "the top of the Red Line." Attendants warn the passengers, "Please watch your footing," and explain to the merfolk that they have left the climate-controlled airspace of the bubble, so they should use reinforced bubbles. From there, the passengers ascend a very long, very large staircase toward the continent at the center of the world itself, where the descendants of the architects of the world live. Shirahoshi is overwhelmed by the height and the open air, crying "Wah!" as the procession approaches the place the narration presents as the highest and largest continent, the austere land soon named Mary Geoise.

The gates of "The Holy Land Mary Geoise" open onto a beautiful, immaculate cityscape. Shirahoshi gazes out and says, "What a beautiful place!" while the fish-men notice the greenery and ask if that green thing over there is a "forest." Someone answers that it is manmade. Guards direct Princess Shirahoshi and the other fish-men to take hold of handles, and the floor itself begins to carry them forward. Shirahoshi panics, crying, "Whoaaa! Oi, is this an earthquake?! I'm gonna die! Protect me!" The answer is calm and mechanical: "It's a travolator. The ground moves." The Holy Land appears elegant and advanced, but the unease begins immediately beneath that polished surface.

The Ryugu party decides not to ride the moving path. Fukaboshi suggests they walk normally, and Shirahoshi, delighted by the scenery, asks her father if they can take their time and look at the forest. Neptune agrees: "Of course. We shall accompany you, then." Stelly mocks them from the travolator, calling the amenities of civilization frightening and sneering at the "stupid fish," even as he wants to introduce the convenience to his own kingdom. The page then cuts below the shining road and reveals the truth: exhausted slaves are forced to power the moving floor by hand. Overseers order, "Move the path at a comfortable speed!" and "Slowly, steadily... No breaks!" A slave wheezes, "Save me... or at least kill me..." The page turns Mary Geoise's beauty into a direct lie, showing that its comfort is built on hidden suffering.

At the front gate to Mariejois's Pangaea Castle, the procession reaches the center of the Holy Land's political power. The command rings out: "Open the gates!" Far above, Saint Charlos spots Shirahoshi and immediately calls for his father. "Father! Father!" he says, and Saint Rosward asks what it is. Charlos answers in his childish, greedy way: "Iz a mermaid." Then he realizes the scale of what he is seeing: "A big one!" The moment is brief, but it is ominous. Shirahoshi is entering the diplomatic heart of the world as a princess, while one of the Celestial Dragons has already reduced her to an object he wants.

Inside Pangaea Castle, the Mingling Plaza fills with royals and bodyguards from all over the world. The fish-man princes look around at the crowd and note that all of these people are monarchs and guards, while one of them exclaims, "From all over the world!" Ryuboshi and Manboshi are called by name, "Mambo! Sambo!" and the family is told that once the seven days of conference begin, even relatives will likely be too busy to grow bored. The food and drink are luxurious, and although weapons have been confiscated, the bodyguards look powerful. Neptune appears to be getting along well with other rulers, giving the plaza the outward atmosphere of ceremony, diplomacy, and guarded politeness before the tensions begin to surface.

Shirahoshi's beauty draws immediate attention from marriage-minded royals. One man gushes, "My, my! A seafloor princess!" and flatters her: "Your breathtaking beauty belies even the rumors of its magnificence." Another offers his single son, while the sons themselves shout, "Papa! This one ain't bad! She ain't bad!" and "Pappy! I like this girl!" Shirahoshi answers with devastating honesty: "You're not my type!" Her family cries "Shirahoshiii!" as the rejected suitors take offense. A calmer woman tries to cover for her, saying Shirahoshi's words are only a common phrase in their dialect that means "I've not yet married either," but the instruction that follows is the real lesson of court politics: in this situation, she should say things like "Oh, I'm so flattered" or "Let us go for food sometime, then" to mollify people even if they are lies. Shirahoshi is horrified by the idea of lying, while the insulted royals rage, "How dare you! You've shamed me!"

Shirahoshi then meets Rebecca, Vivi, Carue, and Leo, and the mood brightens at once. Seeing the tiny Leo, she beams and says, "So cute!" Rebecca panics, "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to offend you," but Leo cheerfully answers, "Then it's okay!" Carue reacts with "Kueh!" while Vivi corrects Shirahoshi gently: "That's not a very nice thing to say to a warrior!" The page formally introduces Rebecca as lady-in-waiting of the Dressrosa Kingdom and Vivi, with Carue, as princess of the Alabasta Kingdom. Leo and Rebecca explain their secrecy in their own way: "We only revealed ourselves because you had said you know Luffy-land," and "We're Luffyland's henchmen! We're pirates, you see." Their friendship with Luffy immediately creates trust among princesses who otherwise come from distant kingdoms.

Vivi reflects on how strange it is to speak about Luffy with so many people at the Reverie. "I never thought that I'd be able to talk with so many people about Luffy at Reverie," she says, and Rebecca answers that his name and crew have really traveled the world. Vivi understands why the Straw Hats' reputation keeps worsening: "Yes, they don't want to become heroes, so their bounties and rumors follow them around." A sidebar explains Alabasta's hidden truth: Vivi once sailed with the Straw Hats as a navigator, and when Crocodile's machinations drove her homeland into rebellion, Luffy and his friends stopped him and saved the country, though the World Government reported those deeds as Marine achievements. Shirahoshi bursts into tears at the story, crying, "Yes, they did!" while Vivi notes that after reading the article about Dressrosa she wondered if Luffy and the others had probably decided to save someone else too.

The shared secret nearly slips into the open. Shirahoshi leans over and asks, "You just talking about Luffy?" startling everyone. Rebecca blurts, "Hey! Did you just say 'Luffy'?" while Vivi tries to stop her: "Rebecca! Wait!! What if you just misheard her?!" The problem is obvious: Luffy is a pirate, and they cannot afford people to know he is their friend. Rebecca thinks aloud about the Straw Hats going to the New World and taking the Fishman Island route, while Shirahoshi says, "I did! Are you all acquainted with him?" Vivi admits, "We are indebted to Luffy and his friends, and..." but tries to hush the conversation because "Everyone knows his name!" In the end Rebecca and Shirahoshi grin at each other and say "Same!" with matching thumbs up, turning a dangerous political secret into an instant bond.

The connections around Luffy continue to multiply. From a distance, Fukaboshi observes that Miss Vivi is becoming friends with the mermaid princess and that Rebecca looks like she is having fun. Another onlooker says, "What a strange connection." Rebecca spots a familiar man and cries, "Ah! That man..." The towering fighter introduces himself: "I'm Sai! Chinjao's grandson!" and the page names him as Sai, the Happo Navy's 13th generation leader. Leo recognizes him too: "Sai!" Sai points out Rebecca from Dressrosa, while Leo is revealed to be there as a secret bodyguard. Their reunion is interrupted by Wapol, who laughs, "Mahahaha! This is just rich! Princess Vivi!" The Mingling Plaza is no longer simply diplomatic; it has become a gathering point for people tied to Luffy's past victories and enemies.

Wapol steps into the plaza with Kinderella and immediately needles Vivi. He laughs, "Mahaha hahaha! You idiot!" and when Vivi demands, "Wapol?! Why are you here?!" he explains, "I flew, you see! Straw Hat Luffy sent me to some far corner of the seas!" Shirahoshi asks whether he is one of Luffy's friends too, and Vivi answers plainly, "No. He's an enemy, Shirahoshi." The page introduces him as king of the Bad Black Drum Kingdom and Kinderella as its queen consort. A sidebar recounts that Wapol was an unfit former king of Drum who oppressed and misgoverned his subjects, clashed with the Straw Hats, and was sent flying across the sky. Yet his Baku Baku powers led him to great wealth, a new kingdom, and a reclaimed crown, showing how old villains have also been drawn back into the World Government's circle.

Wapol keeps sneering even as he asks after Cobra: "How's that stupidly serious King Cobra?" When Vivi says he is good and that she just saw him, Wapol says, "So I know he is! I'm just being sarcastic! Mahaha!" His mockery is cut short by the arrival of Dr. Kureha and King Dalton from the Sakura Kingdom. Kureha, still vigorous and sharp, declares, "Man, the World Government really is slipping! I can't believe they let an idiot like you back into the alliance!" Dalton confronts him with a colder rebuke: "Wapol! Enough of your boring jibes. I see you've birthed yet another dismal country." The page names Kureha as doctor of the Sakura Kingdom and Dalton as its king, reintroducing the people who replaced Wapol's tyranny in Drum's reborn nation.

Vivi happily greets the Sakura Kingdom delegation: "Dalton! Dr. Kureha! I'm so glad to see you again!" Kureha answers, "Ah, Vivi, my dear. You're looking more gallant than ever." Wapol grumbles that if he had known Vivi had become a queen, he would have jacked up his treatment price, while Vivi praises Dalton: "Besides, Dalton is a wonderful king!" Wapol explodes at Dalton for daring to speak to him, shouting, "How dare a servant like you tell me what is or isn't 'enough'?!" Dalton answers with quiet dignity: "We now stand on equal footing!" and tells him he will never perfectly and justly rule his country while he keeps underestimating people. As they part, Dalton asks Vivi, "Did you read the article about Luffy?" and she admits, "Yes! So many times I lost count!" Their old bonds with Luffy sit openly beside the bitter memory of Wapol's rule.

The page briefly explains the Sakura Kingdom's two representatives. Kureha is "currently 141 years old, and often called a witch," the doctor of the Sakura Kingdom, the woman who saved Nami's life, and one of Chopper's adoptive parents and teachers. Dalton, once Wapol's servant in the former Drum Kingdom, was driven out with Luffy's help and became king of the renamed Sakura Kingdom, chosen to reflect the people's strongest hopes. In the plaza, he asks Shirahoshi, "Do you like Luffy?" and she answers, "Yes. A lot." Leo adds, "Of course he likes Luffy-land!" The scene then cuts sharply to Impel Down, Level 6, where Doflamingo laughs, "Fufufu!" and asks from his solitary cell, "What's with the solitary cell?! Pretty lonely down here, if ya ask me!" He wonders whether the assassin sent to kill him has arrived and tells Magellan not to worry: "Don't tell me you're protecting me, Magellan!"

In Impel Down's deepest prison, Doflamingo laughs in chains and spells out the threat he represents. "They have sent a killer to seal my lips once and for all, have they?!" he says, and asks if they want to make sure he does not spill "the beans on Mary Geoise's secret treasure to anyone." He adds that power has a very short shelf life: "It rots faster than you'd believe!" His laughter carries the scene back to Mary Geoise, where a mysterious figure climbs a stairway while holding Luffy's wanted poster. Behind massive doors, the person enters a cold chamber, and the final reveal is a giant straw hat preserved inside the Holy Land. The chapter ends on the question printed beside it: "Why here in the Holy Land?! Why has this big mystery been hidden here?!"
