STORM

This is a colorized version of the title page. The chapter title "STORM" is at the top. Nami, wearing a red shirt and brown boots, sits on the grass and cheerfully hugs a large white bird with black and white wings. The bird wears a blue "MARINE" hat and a blue neckerchief. A straw hat rests on a red mailbox to the right. The sky is blue with fluffy clouds and a few seagulls flying.

Inside the Baratie restaurant, a loud voice shouts from off-panel, "HOW COULD OUR ENTIRE FLEET BE SUNK BY A SINGLE MAN!?" Luffy, Usopp, Zoro, Zeff, and several cooks are gathered around, looking toward the source of the voice. Zeff, holding a large fork, looks serious and says, "THE WORK OF THE HAWK-EYED MAN, WITHOUT A DOUBT... THAT HAD TO BE..." In the next panel, Gin is shown kneeling on the floor, clutching his head in despair and trembling silently.

Gin looks up in shock, repeating, "HAWK-EYED MAN!?" Sanji stands in the background smoking, while Patty looks on, stammering "H..." Zeff stands firmly with his arms crossed, explaining, "YOU SAYING THAT YOU WITNESSED A MAN, WHOSE GLARE WAS AS SHARP AS THAT OF A HAWK DOESN'T NECESSARILY PROVE IT WAS HIM, BUT THE FACT THAT HE SUNK YOUR ENTIRE FLEET, IS MORE THAN ENOUGH PROOF THAT IT REALLY WAS HIM...!" Luffy, sitting on a table, casually asks, "WHO'S THAT?" Usopp, sitting next to him, replies, "BEATS ME." Suddenly, Usopp's eyes widen in realization and he starts sweating, stammering, "HAWK-EYED...!? H..."

Usopp turns to Zoro, recalling, "ACCORDING TO WHAT JOHNNY SAID..." Luffy looks confused, saying "HUH!?" Zoro looks serious and confirms, "HE'S THE MAN I'M SEARCHING FOR.." Meanwhile, the Baratie cooks start gossiping. One says, "HAWK-EYED MAN, HUH..." Another adds, "IF IT'S THE RED-EYED MAN, I REMEMBER HIM COMING TO THIS SHOP BEFORE." A third clarifies, "RIGHT, YOU MEAN THAT GUY WHO GOT SO PISS-DRUNK FROM WINE THAT HIS EYES TURNED RED." Another laughs, "YEAH, THAT IDIOT WHO CAUGHT ON FIRE AND BLEW UP. HEH HEH, THAT WAS QUITE A SIGHT." Hearing this, Zoro looks annoyed and mutters, "NO, NEVER MIND." Luffy asks, "HM? WHAT ABOUT JOHNNY?" Zoro recalls Johnny telling him, "EVEN THAT 'HAWK-EYED MAN' YOU'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR HAS BEEN SIGHTED THERE ONCE BEFORE." Zoro realizes with frustration, "THAT IDIOT GOT HIS INFORMATION MIXED UP!"

Gin yells angrily, tears in his eyes, "THAT'S BULLSHIT! YOU MEAN TO TELL ME HE DESTROYED OUR ENTIRE FLEET FOR THAT!?" Zeff calmly suggests, "PERHAPS YOU DISTURBED HIS AFTERNOON NAP..." Gin retorts, "I DON'T REMEMBER ANYTHING LIKE THAT! HE JUST ATTACKED US ALL OF A SUDDEN!" Sanji, smoking nearby, wonders, "FOR HIM TO DESTROY YOUR ENTIRE FLEET LIKE THAT...? DID HE BEAR SOME ILL GRUDGE AGAINST YOU GUYS," Zeff turns away, saying, "NO NEED TO GET SO IRRITATED, IT WAS JUST AN EXAMPLE. THAT'S JUST THE KIND OF PLACE GRAND LINE IS." Usopp panics, yelling at Luffy, "COULD YOU AT LEAST TRY TO THINK OF THE DANGER!?" But Luffy is thrilled, pumping his fists and laughing, "WE DEFINITELY GOTTA GO THERE! HEE HEE! THAT SOUNDS LIKE SUCH A THRILL!" Zoro smirks, adding, "A PLACE WHERE EVEN THE ABNORMAL IS NORMAL, HUH." Sanji watches them, a question mark floating near his head.

Zoro smiles confidently, resting his hand on his swords. "BUT WITH THIS IT LOOKS LIKE MY OWN GOAL, IS INEXTRICABLY TIED WITH GRAND LINE, CONSIDERING THAT 'THAT MAN' IS THERE AS WELL!" Sanji exhales smoke and remarks, "...BUNCH OF IDIOTS. YOU LOT ARE THE TYPE TO RUSH TO THEIR DEATHS." Luffy looks over at Sanji and replies, "TRUE, BUT I'D RATHER HAVE YOU LEAVE OUT THE 'IDIOT' PART..." Zoro's expression turns dead serious as he states, "EVER SINCE I'VE DECIDED TO BECOME THE WORLD'S GREATEST SWORDSMAN, I THREW AWAY MY ATTACHMENT TO LIFE. THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO CALL ME AN IDIOT IS ME ALONE."

Sanji looks unimpressed, exhaling smoke. "...PSH, WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP." Zoro slightly draws his sword with a clack, calling him a "LIAR." Luffy laughs cheerfully, raising his arms, "OOH! ME TOO! AS A REAL MAN, THE SAME GOES FOR ME TOO." Zeff watches the exchange silently. Suddenly, Gin yells at them, "HEY, RETARDS! HAVEN'T YOU REALIZED THE SITUATION WE'RE IN RIGHT NOW!?" Sanji and Luffy turn to look at him. Patty then shouts aggressively, "THE GIGANTIC GALLEON THAT'S PARKED RIGHT IN FRONT OF OUR RESTAURANT, BELONGS TO THE PIRATE FLEET ADMIRAL DON KRIEG! THE SHIP OF THE STRONGEST PIRATE IN ALL OF EAST BLUE! YOU GOT THAT!? SO YOU CAN CONTINUE YOUR LITTLE CONVERSATION AFTER WE'VE GOTTEN OURSELVES OUT OF THIS MESS!"

Outside on the water, the massive, heavily damaged galleon of Don Krieg rocks in the waves as the wind howls around it. Inside the ship, the deck is littered with starving, emaciated pirates. They lie weakly on the floor, groaning and begging for food and water. Suddenly, Don Krieg stands up with a loud rustle, throwing off his cloak. The starving pirates look up at him in shock and awe, and a cheer of "WOOHOO!" erupts from them.

The starving pirates on the galleon's deck erupt into wild cheers, shouting, "WE'RE SAVED!" They celebrate their survival, raising their arms in joy. "HAHA, WE'RE ALIVE!" "IT'S LIKE A DREAM!" "WE'VE FINALLY ESCAPED FROM THAT NIGHTMARE!" "WE'VE RETURNED ALIVE FROM THE 'PIRATES' GRAVEYARD!'" Don Krieg, clad in his heavy armor, smirks confidently and declares, "YES... AND WE'LL SET SAIL BACK TO GRAND LINE ONCE AGAIN..."

The cheering abruptly stops as the pirates stare at Don Krieg in shock, exclaiming, "WHA!?" and "!!". They look terrified at the prospect, stammering, "WE'RE... GOING BACK THERE...?" Don Krieg notices their hesitation and asks, "HMM? WHAT'S WITH YOUR EXPRESSIONS...?" Without warning, Don Krieg violently punches one of the protesting pirates, sending him flying through the air with a loud crash. The pirate screams "AGHHH!" as the rest of the crew watches in horror.

Don Krieg glares menacingly at his crew, demanding, "WELL? ANY OTHERS WHO DISAGREE?" Terrified, the pirates quickly stand at attention, saluting and cheering, "N-NO, SIR!" and "ALL HAIL DON KRIEG!" Satisfied, Don Krieg turns his back to them, looking out toward the Baratie. He commands, "FIRST, WE'LL ABANDON THIS BATTERED OLD SHIP THAT MIGHT SINK AT ANY MOMENT AND TAKE OVER THAT FLOATING RESTAURANT. YOUR ENEMIES ARE JUST A BUNCH OF MEASLY COOKS. THIS SHOULD BE A PIECE OF CAKE."

Inside the Baratie, the cooks arm themselves with giant forks, knives, and pans, preparing for battle. One yells, "I CAN HEAR THEM COMING!" while another shouts, "BRACE YOURSELF! THIS SHIP IS OUR RESTAURANT!" Sanji calmly smokes his cigarette, Patty looks fierce, Zoro rests his hand on his sword, Usopp peeks nervously from behind a table, and Luffy sits with a serious expression. The cooks then rush out onto the exterior deck of the restaurant, shouting battle cries. Zeff commands them, yelling, "MOVE IT YOU DAMN COOKS!"

A massive, deafening roar fills the air as an unbelievable sight unfolds. Don Krieg's gigantic galleon is suddenly and cleanly sliced entirely in half. The two massive halves of the ship begin to collapse and fall apart into the churning ocean waves. The Baratie floats in the foreground, completely dwarfed by the sheer scale of the collapsing pirate ship. A giant exclamation of shock, "!!!?", hangs in the air as the destruction occurs.

On the deck of the Baratie, the armed cooks look up in absolute shock, their weapons lowering as they gasp, "WHA..." and "!!?". Sanji's cigarette drops from his open mouth, Patty's jaw hits the floor, Zoro looks completely stunned, Usopp screams in terror, and Luffy's eyes bug out of his head as he yells, "WHAT!?". Even Don Krieg is caught completely off guard, his jaw dropping in disbelief as he shouts, "WHAT WAS THAT JUST NOW!?". Zeff also stares in shock, a "!" appearing next to him.

The Krieg pirates scream and tumble into the ocean as their ship splits apart beneath them. "DON KRIEG! OUR SHIP...!" one yells, while others scream "AGHHH!". Don Krieg is furious and panicked, veins popping on his face as he roars, "CUT!? THE HELL DO YOU MEAN CUT!? HOW CAN A HUGE GALLEON LIKE THIS BE CUT!?". A terrified pirate confirms, "OUR SHIP'S BEEN CUT!". The two massive halves of the galleon crash into the sea, sending up huge plumes of water as someone cries out, "THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE...!".

Usopp and Zoro rush to the railing of the Baratie. Usopp panics, "CRAP! OUR SHIP WAS OUTSIDE TOO, WITH NAMI, YOSAKU AND JOHNNY STILL INSIDE!" Zoro adds, "IT MIGHT BE TOO LATE ALREADY!" On the deck, the cooks scramble in a panic. One orders, "RAISE THE ANCHOR! OR THIS SHIP'S GONNA GET DRAGGED UNDER!" and another replies, "YES, SIR!". Usopp frantically scans the water, yelling, "THE SHIP! WHERE'S OUR SHIP!? WHAT HAPPENED TO NAMI!?" Someone replies, "SHE'S NOT HERE ANYMORE!". In the water below, Johnny and Yosaku are thrashing about, crying out, "BROTHER ZORO!!!" and "BRO!". Zoro calls down to them, "YOSAKU! JOHNNY! YOU ALRIGHT?". They reply tearfully, "ABOUT THAT... WE'RE SORRY, BRO...!"

Johnny and Yosaku, still in the water, cry profusely as they deliver the bad news: "SISTER NAMI...! TOOK THE TREASURE AND SAILED AWAY!" A flashback shows Nami winking playfully and sticking her tongue out, saying, "WELL, SEE YA THEN! TELL THE OTHERS THAT IF WE'RE TRULY LINKED BY FATE, WE'LL MEET AGAIN!". Hearing this, Usopp, Luffy, and Zoro are completely dumbfounded, screaming "WHAAAT!?" and "WHA!?". Meanwhile, amidst the floating wreckage of the galleon, a small boat with a dark sail approaches. Zeff spots the figure on the boat, his eyes widening in recognition as he stammers, "TH... THAT MAN IS...!". The figure is Dracule Mihawk.
