Final question asks whether lower-ranked Whitebeard Pirates can become squad leaders or whether all squad leaders come from the main squad. Oda explains that Whitebeard and the 16 squad leaders are all on equal standing, not numbered by strength, that 43 allied crews serve under Whitebeard but are not part of his crew and usually act independently, and that Ace's Spade Pirates were disbanded, their members joined the Whitebeard Pirates, and Ace became a squad leader.
