SPIN, PINWHEEL!

The story begins with a view of the island from the sea at night. Narration notes, "NIGHT FELL UPON THE ISLAND ONCE MORE, AND THE WAVES WERE AS QUIET AS ALWAYS." Laughter and music notes drift across the water, with sound effects of "WAHAHAHA" and "GYAHAHAHA" filling the air. The narration continues, stating, "HOWEVER, THE THUNDEROUS FESTIVITIES, DID NOT SUBSIDE THIS NIGHT NOR THE NEXT." A large panel shows the villagers and pirates celebrating wildly, dancing, drinking, and playing music around a bonfire. The narration explains, "FOR THE PEOPLE HAD ALL ENDURED FOR THIS MOMENT. THEY HAD ENDURED EVERYTHING IN ORDER TO LAUGH AGAIN." Close-ups show a scarred villager with glasses laughing heartily, alongside Luffy, who is laughing with his mouth wide open in pure joy.

The party continues. Zoro sits on the ground with a large mug of beer, looking at Luffy, who is gnawing on a massive piece of meat on a bone. Zoro asks, "WHAT'S WITH ALL THAT MEAT YOU'RE HOLDING ONTO?" Luffy, chewing loudly, asks Sanji, "HEY, SANJI! WAS THERE SOMETHING ON THAT LAST MELON YOU ATE JUST NOW...!?" Sanji, sitting nearby and smoking, sighs contentedly, saying, "AHH... I SURE ATE A LOT. FEELS NICE TO STUFF YOURSELF EVERY NOW AND THEN." Suddenly, Luffy's eyes widen in shock as he stops chewing, letting out an "AHH!" Sanji casually mentions, "YEAH, IT WAS A MELON WITH RAW HAM CALLED 'RAW HAM MELON.'" Luffy yells in surprise, "RAW HAM MELON!?" and asks, "WHERE'D YOU GET IT!?" Sanji replies he's not sure since there's food put out everywhere for all the villagers. Luffy immediately runs off, declaring, "THEN I'LL GO FIND IT!" Sanji notes that Luffy has been eating non-stop, then stands up, deciding, "NOW THAT I'VE FINISHED EATING... IT'S TIME TO FLIRT WITH THE LADIES!" Nearby, Usopp stands on a table, posing dramatically and declaring, "IT IS I, CAPTAIN USOPP! THE WARRIOR WHO DEFEATED ONE OF THE FISHMEN!" The crowd cheers, asking for his autograph, as Usopp offers to sing them a song. Meanwhile, Zoro has fallen asleep against a wall, snoring.

On a quiet cliff overlooking the sea, a wooden cross marks a grave. Narration addresses Bellemere, saying, "BELLEMERE... YOUR DAUGHTERS HAVE GROWN UP TO BE FINE, STRONG WOMEN..." Genzo stands before the grave, pouring a bottle of alcohol over the wooden cross. He speaks to the grave, saying, "WHEN I LOOK AT YOUR DAUGHTERS..." A close-up shows the alcohol pouring over the cross. The narration continues, "IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE I'M SEEING YOU AGAIN," A close-up shows Genzo's face, bearing his scars and pinwheel hat, as he smiles softly. He promises, "FROM NOW ON, ALL OF US WILL DO OUR BEST, TO LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST."

Genzo continues standing by Bellemere's grave, stating, "BECAUSE OUR FREEDOM CAME AT THE COST OF SO MANY LIVES, WE HAVE TO LIVE OUR LIVES TO THE FULLEST FOR THEIR SAKE. WE HAVE TO LAUGH AND SMILE UNTIL OUR VERY CHEEKS HURT...!" Suddenly, he hears a noise and turns around with a "HUH?" Luffy is walking by, still holding his large piece of meat. Luffy mutters, "THERE'S NO FOOD HERE... DARN IT. OH WELL, I'LL HEAD BACK." Genzo angrily shouts at him, "JUST WAIT RIGHT THERE!" Genzo looks shocked, exclaiming, "RAW HAM MELON!" Luffy stops near the grave, chewing on his meat, and asks, "A GRAVE? DID SOMEBODY DIE?" Genzo confirms, "YES... BUT IT WAS LONG AGO."

Luffy stands near the grave, chewing his meat, and tries to offer his condolences, but struggles with the word, guessing, "I SEE, WELL HE OR SHE HAS MY DEEPEST C... HM? CONDIMENTS? CON... COND-ITIONS...?" Genzo corrects him, saying, "THE WORD IS 'CONDO-LENCES.'" Luffy accepts this, saying, "RIGHT, THAT." Genzo then looks serious and addresses Luffy, noting, "HEY, KID. NAMI SAID SHE'LL JOIN YOUR CREW AND BECOME A PIRATE... IT'LL BE A DANGEROUS JOURNEY." Genzo leans in close, his face intense, and threatens Luffy, saying, "...SO IF YOU EVER DO SOMETHING TO STEAL HER SMILE AWAY, I'LL PERSONALLY COME AND KILL YOU!" Luffy, still chewing, looks back with a serious, determined expression and simply says, "...UNDERSTOOD." Large text emphasizes the point as Genzo yells, "UNDERSTAND!?"

Nami and Nojiko are sitting together on a bench outside a building. Nojiko remarks, "HOW BORING. YOU'RE NOT SULKING AT ALL." Nami asks, "WHAT IS?" Nojiko explains, "I THOUGHT YOU'D BE ALL, 'OH WHY DID MY DAD HAVE TO DIE BEFORE THIS DAY,' OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT." Nami admits, "THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT AT FIRST TOO." Nojiko continues, saying, "BUT THEN I REALIZED, THAT NOTHING GOOD WOULD COME FROM SUCH THOUGHTS." Suddenly, Nami pinches Nojiko's arm hard. Nojiko yelps in pain, "OWW OWW OWWW! WHY'RE YOU PINCHING ME!?" and complains, "WHAT THE HELL!" Nami replies, "HOW CHEEKY." Nojiko complains, "HERE I WAS, WAITING FOR A CHANCE TO PICK ON YOU SOME MORE... OWWW! YOU'VE ALREADY PICKED ON ME ENOUGH! YOU VIOLENT TATTOOED LADY!" Nami bursts into laughter, "AHAHAHAHA!" Nojiko smiles and says, "JUST 'TATTOOED LADY' IS FINE."

A flashback shows Nami lying on a bed while Dr. Nako examines her shoulder tattoo. Nami asks, "ERASE IT?" Nako replies, "I'M AFRAID ERASING IT COMPLETELY WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE, SINCE IT'LL LEAVE A BIT OF A SCAR." He adds, "THAT'S JUST HOW TATTOOS ARE." Nami looks back and says, "THAT'S RIGHT..." Nako continues, "TATTOOS AREN'T SOMETHING YOU CAN JUST ERASE..." In another memory, Nami sits huddled on the floor in a room, crying and saying, "I DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO SEE THIS TATTOO! I'M NOT EVEN ONE OF THEM... BUT THANKS TO THIS, I'VE BEEN BRANDED AS ONE...!" Nojiko watches her from the doorway, looking concerned and calling her name, "NAMI..." Nami looks sad and distressed.

The flashback continues as Nami reacts in shock to seeing a new tattoo on Nojiko's arm. Nami asks, "NOJIKO! WHAT HAPPENED!? YOU HAVE A TATTOO!" Nojiko casually replies, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHAT? IT'S ONLY A TATTOO. IT'S JUST ANOTHER DECORATION." Nojiko smiles warmly and says, "I'M THE SAME AS YOU NOW, NAMI!" Nami, moved to tears, laughs and agrees, "HAHA HAHA! YEAH..." Back in the present of the flashback, Nami is lying on her stomach as Dr. Nako prepares his tattoo equipment. Nami calls out to the doctor, "HEY, DOC... THERE'S SOMETHING I'D LIKE YOU TO TATTOO FOR ME..." Nako responds, "HM?" Nami holds up a piece of paper and says, "THIS."

Back at the party, the celebration is in full swing. Usopp and a villager are dancing wildly with baskets on their heads, surrounded by cheering villagers who laugh at their dancing skills. Villagers shout, "AHAHA HAHA! THESE TWO SURE KNOW HOW TO DANCE!" and "GYAHA HAHA!" Usopp announces, "FOR MY 6TH NUMBER, I'LL SING THE 'USOPP CHEER SONG!'" The scene then transitions to a bright day with a view of the sea and sky. A narration box reads "THE DAY OF THE DEPARTURE." The Going Merry is docked at the shore, and a large crowd of villagers has gathered in front of it to see the pirates off.

On the dock, Johnny and Yosaku stand before Zoro, announcing, "WE MUST NOW RETURN BACK TO OUR JOB AS BOUNTY HUNTERS. SO THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP UNTIL NOW." They add, "THOUGH WE MUST SAY GOOD-BYE, MAY WE MEET ONCE AGAIN SOMEPLACE ELSE IN THE FUTURE." Zoro turns away, saying, "I SEE THEN. TAKE CARE," and Johnny and Yosaku wish him well, "THE SAME TO YOU, MY BROTHERS." Nearby, Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp are looking around for Nami. Usopp wonders, "WHERE IS SHE ANYWAYS?" Sanji suggests, "MAYBE SHE'S NOT COMING?" Luffy is shocked, yelling, "WHAT!? IS NAMI REALLY NOT COMING!? HEY! THAT RAW HAM MELON YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT WASN'T ANYWHERE!" In the crowd, Genzo and Nojiko are talking. Genzo is shocked, exclaiming, "SHE'S LEAVING ALL HER MONEY BEHIND!? ALL 100 MILLION BELIS!?" He asks, "SHE'S NOT TAKING ANY OF HER MONEY WITH HER?" A villager points out, "BUT SHE RISKED HER LIFE TO SAVE UP THAT MUCH..." Nojiko explains, "SHE SAID IT'S FINE, SINCE SHE CAN ALWAYS STEAL MORE..."

Nojiko tells Genzo, "I TOLD HER TO TAKE A LITTLE BIT AT LEAST, BUT SHE WOULDN'T HEAR OF IT. YOU KNOW HOW SHE IS." Genzo calls Nami a fool, saying, "THAT FOOL... IT'S US WHO SHOULD BE TRYING TO MAKE THINGS UP TO HER AFTER ALL SHE DID...!" Suddenly, Nami is seen sprinting down the path towards the ship, pushing her way through the crowd of villagers. She yells, "SET SAIL!" The villagers are confused, calling out, "HUH?" and "NACCHAN!" On the ship, Usopp panics, asking, "SHE'S RUNNING OVER HERE? WHAT DO WE DO?" Luffy decides, "SHE SAID SET SAIL SO... I GUESS WE SHOULD SET SAIL."

Luffy orders the crew, "WHAT... RAISE THE SAIL!" The villagers on the dock are shocked, realizing Nami is planning to leave. They say, "DON'T TELL ME... SHE'S PLANNING TO LEAVE, WITHOUT LETTING US SAY EVEN A WORD OF THANKS OR GOODBYE...!?" They call out for her to stop, "NAMI, STOP! AT LEAST LET US THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU'VE DONE!" Nami continues sprinting towards the ship, her head down. The Going Merry begins to pull away from the dock. The villagers panic as the ship takes off, lamenting, "AHH! THEY'RE TAKING OFF! BUT WE NEEDED TO THANK YOU PIRATES T..." Genzo yells for Nami to wait, "NAMI, WAIT! I CAN'T ALLOW YOU TO LEAVE THIS WAY!"

Nami runs full speed through the crowd on the dock, pushing past the villagers who call out her name, "NAMI!" On the ship, Sanji asks Luffy, "YOU SURE IT'S OKAY TO LET HER LEAVE LIKE THIS?" Luffy smiles and says, "IT'S HER GOODBYE SO LET'S LET HER DECIDE." Nami reaches the end of the dock and leaps high into the air towards the departing ship. The villagers watch in shock, yelling, "NACCHAN!" Nami lands gracefully on the deck of the Going Merry. The villagers look on in disbelief, asking, "WHY...!!!"

The ship continues to sail away as the villagers stand on the dock, waving and looking confused, saying, "WHA!?" Suddenly, Nami lifts her shirt slightly, and a shower of wallets falls out from underneath it. The wallets clatter onto the deck of the ship. On the dock, the villagers suddenly realize their pockets are empty. They pat themselves down in panic, shouting, "WHA!? MY WALLET'S GONE!" "MINE TOO!" "ME TOO!" "SAME HERE!" "MINE AS WELL!" Nami turns back to face the island, winking and flashing a wide grin as she holds up one of the stolen wallets. She cheerfully calls out, "TAKE CARE, EVERYONE!"

The villagers on the dock erupt in anger, shaking their fists and yelling at Nami, "YOU ROTTEN LITTLE THIEF!" Genzo looks furious and shocked, muttering, "YOU..." On the ship, the Straw Hats react to Nami's stunt. Usopp sweatdrops, noting, "SHE STILL HASN'T CHANGED A BIT." Zoro looks annoyed, wondering, "IS SHE GOING TO BETRAY US AGAIN?" Sanji swoons, praising, "NAMI, GOOD JOB!" while Luffy laughs uproariously, "DAHAHAHA!" Nami stands at the railing, waving back at the angry crowd. The villagers continue to yell, "YOU THIEVING CAT!" "GIVE IT BACK!" "GIVE MY WALLET BACK!" Sanji chuckles, "HEH HEH," and Zoro calls her, "YOU LITTLE BRAT!"

Nami looks back at the island with a soft smile, whispering, "I'M OFF, BELLEMERE." On the dock, the villagers' anger turns to fond farewells. They wave and tell her, "COME BACK ANYTIME YOU WANT, YOU HEAR!" "BE SURE TO STAY SAFE!" "WE HAVE SO MUCH TO THANK YOU ALL FOR!" Genzo gives a thumbs up and yells to Luffy, "HEY, KID! DON'T FORGET ABOUT OUR PROMISE!" Luffy acknowledges him with a small exclamation. Nami turns back with a huge, joyful laugh, shouting, "GOOD BYE, EVERYONE! I'LL BE OFF NOW!"

Nojiko, Genzo, and Dr. Nako sit on the dock, watching the ship sail away into the distance. Nojiko smiles, saying, "SHE SURE GOT US GOOD!" and admits, "I SHOULD'VE KNOWN BETTER FROM MY OWN SISTER." Nako wishes Nami, "HAVE FUN." Nojiko then says, "HEY, GENZOU..." Genzo notices the paper in Nako's hand and asks, "HM? WHAT'S THIS, DOC?" Nako explains, "SHE GOT HERSELF ANOTHER TATTOO. SHE SAID IT'S AN 'ORANGE,' AND A 'PINWHEEL.'" The paper shows the design of a pinwheel combined with an orange. Nojiko looks at Genzo and asks, "HUH? WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR PINWHEEL, GEN?" Genzo smiles and replies, "HAHA.. I DIDN'T NEED IT ANYMORE."

A flashback shows a younger Genzo wearing a pinwheel on his hat, trying to entertain a crying baby Nami. Bellemere yells at Genzo, "GEN! STAY AWAY FROM MY NAMI!" saying his scary face is making the baby cry. Genzo stammers, "B-B-BUT EVEN I WANT TO SEE A BABY'S CUTE SMILE." Bellemere replies, "BUT YOUR FACE IS SO SCARY YOU'RE MAKING HER CRY!" Genzo admits, "WELL, IT'S NOT LIKE I CAN DO ANYTHING ABOUT THAT..." He then takes the pinwheel and sticks it into his headwear, declaring, "HOW ABOUT THIS!? WITH THIS, I'M SURE SHE'LL SMILE! ALL I HAVE TO DO IS PUT THIS ON MY HEAD FROM NOW ON!" He leans in, asking, "WELL? CAN YOU SMILE FOR ME, NAMI?" Baby Nami bursts into happy laughter, "KYAHAHAHA!" Bellemere smiles, admitting, "I DON'T KNOW, GEN. EVEN IF YOU PUT A PINWHEEL..." In the present, the pinwheel is shown stuck in the ground next to Bellemere's grave, spinning in the wind. Narration notes, "AH, SHE LAUGHED...! THE SKIES ARE CLEAR AND THE WINDS MILD. PERFECT WEATHER FOR A PINWHEEL TO SPIN."
