WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Arlong stands tall, looking down with a menacing grin. He says, "SHAHAHAHA... NOT BAD FOR A PATHETIC HUMAN. BUT YOU MIGHT'VE BEEN HAPPIER HAD YOU DIED PEACEFULLY UNDER THE SEA." In the next panel, Luffy is seen stretching his neck backward, twisting his head around to look at his surroundings, making "HMN! HMN!" sounds. He casually replies, "HUH? NO, I'M PRETTY HAPPY TO BE RESCUED." He continues to stretch, adding another "HMN!" Arlong's expression darkens into a furious scowl. He glares at Luffy and says, "DO YOU UNDERSTAND JUST HOW ANGRY I AM..? THE SEETHING RAGE I FEEL AFTER SEEING MY BELOVED BRETHREN BE CRUSHED BY YOU PATHETIC INSECTS...!" Arlong's sharp, saw-like nose points forward as he delivers a chilling threat: "WITHIN TIME, YOU'LL COME TO SEE THAT YOU WERE BETTER OFF DYING PEACEFULLY IN THE OCEAN."

A group of villagers, along with Nami, Usopp, and Sanji, stand watching the confrontation. One villager nervously says, "I WONDER IF BROTHER LUFFY'LL BE ALRIGHT..." Usopp, sweating, notes, "EVEN THAT FIERCE ATTACK JUST NOW DIDN'T AFFECT ARLONG AT ALL...!" Another villager interrupts, "ENOUGH ABOUT THAT! JUST HOW FAR WAS BROTHER ZORO SENT FLYING!?" Usopp then calls out to Luffy from the wall, "ATTACK LUFFY! I'LL BE BACKING YOU UP!" Nami, annoyed, retorts, "ENOUGH WITH YOUR 'BACK UP.'" Sanji sits down on the edge of the pool, lighting a cigarette, and states grimly, "IF HE DIES... YOU'LL ALL BE KILLED." Genzo, sitting nearby with his arms crossed, agrees, "YES..." Sanji adds, "AND IT'LL ALSO BE THE END FOR EAST BLUE." In the background, Zoro is seen lying face down near the rubble.

Arlong stares down at Luffy with a confident, toothy grin and asks, "DO YOU KNOW WHAT HOPELESS DIFFERENCE THERE IS BETWEEN YOU AND I?" Luffy, standing opposite him, casually cracks his knuckles with a "crack crack" sound effect. He looks up at Arlong and guesses, "NOSE?" A large, dramatic sound effect "DO DON!!" fills the middle of the page. In the bottom panel, a wide shot shows the two facing off in the ruined courtyard of Arlong Park. Palm trees and debris surround them. Luffy offers another guess, asking, "OR JAW?"

Luffy points at Arlong and exclaims, "WEBBED HANDS!" In the background, Usopp sweats and says, "NO... I THINK HE'S SERIOUS." A villager beside him stammers, "I-IS HE... JOKING AROUND...?" Suddenly, Arlong lunges forward with terrifying speed, his massive jaws wide open, yelling, "IT'S OUR RACE!" and "AHH!" Luffy barely manages to dodge backward, crying out "AGH!", "ACK!", "GAH!", and "WAH!" as Arlong's jaws snap shut repeatedly, missing him by inches. Arlong lets out a fierce "GYAA!!" as he continues his aggressive biting assault, forcing Luffy to scramble away from the snapping teeth.

Arlong's jaws snap shut with a loud "GII!" right next to Luffy's face, causing Luffy to scream "AGHHHHH!" in panic. Luffy manages to stretch his neck backward, narrowly avoiding the bite, and lets out a relieved "WHEW" as his head snaps back into place. Arlong's momentum carries him forward, and his massive teeth clamp down hard onto a solid stone pillar with a loud "CRUNCH!". Usopp, watching from a distance, points and laughs, "HA, LOOK AT THAT IDIOT! HE BIT THAT ROCK PILLAR!" He assumes Arlong has hurt himself, adding, "HIS TEETH MUST BE BR..." as the sound of cracking stone fills the air.

The stone pillar shatters completely under the force of Arlong's bite, sending chunks of rubble flying. Usopp's jaw drops in shock as he screams, "AGHHHHH! HE BIT THROUGH THAT PILLAR!? AHH, TALK ABOUT SCARY!" Sanji, looking serious and sweating slightly, observes, "IF HE GOT BIT BY THAT, HE WOULDN'T JUST GET BITEMARKS... HIS BONES WOULD BE CHEWED RIGHT THROUGH!" Arlong stands amidst the falling debris, looking back over his shoulder at Luffy. He boasts, "THIS IS THE POWER THAT WE FISHMAN ARE BORN WITH. A POWER THAT THE HEAVENS DID NOT BESTOW UPON YOUR RACE. WHICH IS WHY YOU ARE THE INFERIOR SPECIES! WE'RE ON COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LEVELS FROM THE MOMENT OF BIRTH!"

Usopp yells out, "THAT'S TRUE... THAT ABILITY'S NOT SOMETHING A HUMAN CAN ACHIEVE EVEN AFTER YEARS OF TRAINING. SO WHAT!?" Arlong glares back, warning, "DON'T GET COCKY JUST BECAUSE OF THAT." Luffy, looking determined, pulls his fist back and declares, "...I DON'T NEED TO CHEW THROUGH STONE, TO CRUSH IT!" He delivers a powerful punch directly to Arlong's face, the impact accompanied by a loud "CRACK!" sound effect. Sanji cheers, "HAHAAAA! NICE ONE, BROTHER! THAT'S RIGHT! THE END RESULT IS ALL THE SAME!" Arlong, reeling from the blow with his teeth visibly broken, mutters angrily, "SUCH FRIVOLOUS OBJECTIONS...!"

Arlong, furious, yells at Luffy, "YOU HUMANS TRULY ARE AN IDIOTIC, WEAK, PATHETIC RACE! WHAT CAN YOU DO!? YOU CAN'T EVEN SAVE YOURSELF FROM DROWNING!" Luffy, standing his ground, replies calmly, "IT'S BECAUSE I CAN'T DO ANYTHING, THAT I NEED HELP!" He then bends down and grabs two swords that were lying on the ground. Holding one in each hand, he strikes a pose and laughs, "SHISHISHISHI!" Sanji, watching with Nami, looks confused and asks, "DOES HE KNOW HOW TO FIGHT WITH A SWORD?" Nami looks equally unsure.

Luffy charges at Arlong, swinging the two swords wildly and yelling, "NGAHHHHH!" The blades slice through the air with "SWISH" sound effects, but Arlong easily dodges the frantic attacks. Arlong remarks, "THE HELL? YOU'RE JUST SWINGING AROUND THOSE SWORDS RANDOMLY...!" With a swift motion, Arlong reaches out and grabs the blades of both swords with his bare hands, stopping Luffy's assault completely. He glares at Luffy and says, "I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO PLAY AROUND WITH YOU. GOT IT!?"

Arlong effortlessly snaps the blades of the two swords in half with his bare hands, the metal shattering with loud "CRACK" sound effects. Luffy grunts, "MNGHHH!" as the weapons are destroyed. Arlong begins to taunt him, "ENOUGH WITH YOUR STUPID LITTLE G..." but before he can finish, Luffy spins around rapidly. Using the momentum of his spin, Luffy delivers a fierce backhand punch directly to Arlong's face, yelling, "SHUT YOUR TRAP!" The impact lands heavily on Arlong's cheek.

Luffy's spinning punch connects with devastating force against Arlong's face. A massive impact star bursts at the point of contact, and Arlong's eyes widen in shock, indicated by "!!!?" next to his head. The sheer power of the blow sends Arlong flying backward through the air. He crashes violently into the stone ground, crying out "ARGHH!" as debris scatters around him from the heavy landing.

Arlong skids across the ground, crying out "GUAHHHHH!" as he tumbles. Usopp, watching with wide eyes, exclaims, "WHA...! HE BROKE ARLONG'S TEETH!" Nami looks confused and asks, "WHA...? WHAT'S HE TRYING TO SAY...?" Luffy stands tall, his face drawn in an exaggerated, angry expression, and yells at the top of his lungs, "OF COURSE I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIGHT WITH SWORDS YOU DUMBASS!" Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji watch from the sidelines, looking bewildered by Luffy's outburst.

Luffy continues his loud declarations, stating, "I DON'T KNOW A THING ABOUT NAVIGATION EITHER!" Nami looks on silently. He then points to himself and yells, "I CAN'T COOK!" Sanji is shown listening. Luffy adds, "AND I CAN'T LIE EITHER!" Usopp reacts with a slight flinch. Finally, Luffy shouts, "I'M CONFIDENT THAT I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SURVIVE IF OTHER PEOPLE AREN'T THERE TO HELP ME!" Arlong, sitting up amidst the rubble, starts to laugh, "SHAHAHAHA... AREN'T YOU QUITE HONEST ABOUT ADMITTING HOW WORTHLESS YOU ARE!? MUST BE QUITE HARD FOR YOUR CREWMATES TO DEAL WITH SUCH AN INCOMPETENT CAPTAIN LIKE YOU. IT'S A WONDER WHY'D THEY TRY SO DESPERATELY HARD TO SAVE YOU..."

Arlong stands up, towering and furious, his mouth wide open as he yells down at Luffy. "YOU CALL YOURSELF FIT TO BE CAPTAIN WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE AN OUNCE OF SELF-CONFIDENCE!? JUST WHAT EXACTLY CAN YOU DO!?" The panel below shows a close-up of Luffy's face. He is smiling broadly, a look of absolute confidence in his eyes, and he simply replies, "I CAN BEAT YOU."

The villagers erupt in cheers, raising their weapons and shouting, "ALRIGHT, BROTHER LUFFY!" Nami smiles softly, letting out a small "HAHA.." Usopp, looking fired up, yells, "AND I'LL BACK YOU UP!" Zoro, still injured on the ground, warns, "I'LL KILL YOU IF YOU LOSE..." Sanji, smirking around his cigarette, adds, "DAMN STRAIGHT." Arlong, however, is unfazed. He glares at Luffy and snarls, "ENOUGH BABBLING, YOU PATHETIC HUMAN!" Suddenly, Arlong's mouth opens to reveal a full set of sharp teeth. Luffy notices and says, "AHH! HIS TEETH GREW BACK!" Arlong boasts, "I AM A SHARK AFTER ALL. MY TEETH WILL GROW BACK EVERY TIME. AND THESE NEW ONES ARE ALWAYS STRONGER THAN THE LAST!"

Arlong reaches into his own mouth and violently yanks out his newly grown teeth with a loud "CRACK". He immediately grows another set, shouting, "NO MATTER.. HOW MANY TIMES!" He holds the extracted teeth in his hands like jagged, deadly castanets. Usopp, Sanji, and Nami watch in stunned silence. Arlong holds up his hands, the detached teeth clacking together menacingly, and declares, "THIS IS THE GIFT BESTOWED TO ME BY THE HEAVENS. NOW DO YOU REALIZE, JUST HOW MUCH SUPERIOR FISHMEN ARE?" Luffy stares at the bizarre weapon, muttering a surprised "WHOA.."

Arlong lunges at Luffy, using the detached teeth in his hands as weapons. He clamps them down on Luffy's arm and side, yelling "TOOTH GUM!" Luffy screams "AHH!" as the sharp teeth sink into his flesh. He struggles to push Arlong away, crying out "STOP!" and "GUU". Arlong relentlessly continues his attack, biting down repeatedly with the handheld teeth while laughing sadistically, "SHAHAHAHA!" Luffy thrashes in pain, screaming "GYAAAAA!" as Arlong overpowers him.

Nami, Usopp, and Sanji watch in horror, their faces pale and eyes wide. Usopp screams, "BROTHER LUFFYYYYYY!" Arlong has Luffy pinned, holding him by the neck with one hand while preparing to strike again. Suddenly, Luffy grabs Arlong's arm and twists it, causing Arlong to cry out, "WHA!? MY FELLOW FISHMAN!" Luffy, panting and bleeding, mutters, "A-ARLONG... IT HURTS... WHEW." Arlong glares down at him, growling, "WHY YOU...!" Luffy looks up, a sly smile spreading across his face, and says, "HMM... THAT GIVES ME A GOOD IDEA."
