Kaku delivers Iceburg's message: "PLEASE TELL HIM WHEN YOU SEE HIM. ... YOU GUYS ARE 'FIRED.'" A note explains that in Japanese "fired" uses "kubi," the same word as neck. Kaku reflects with a strange calm, "ASSASSIN AS A PROFESSION... WON'T BE ABLE TO GET ME ANOTHER JOB... PAULIE, HUH...? I SEE... THAT'S A PROBLEM..." Zoro says, "... YOU'LL ALWAYS HAVE THE ZOO..." Back inside the tower, Zoro has the key and Sanji appears nearby, asking, "HEY, MARIMO!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE KEY!?" Zoro answers simply, "AH, I JUST GOT IT."

Sanji and Zoro stand in the damaged tower with the keys finally gathered. Sanji worries, "BUT THIS TOWER SLID DOWN AGAIN. I WONDER IF IT'LL BE OKAY...!?" Zoro cuts through the concern: "WHO CARES? ANYWAY, NOW THAT WE HAVE THIS KEY, WE'VE GOT ALL OF THEM!! LET'S HURRY TO WHERE ROBIN IS!!" Elsewhere, Chimney calls, "HURRY, HURRY!! BAA-CHAN, BAA-CHAN," while Gonbe cries, "NYAA NYAA." Kokoro answers, "IMMA OL'READY. YOU GODDA THINK 'BOUT THAT!! NGA GA GA!!" Outside, the bridge and Gates of Justice continue to thunder open over the sea.

The Gates of Justice finally open, and Spandam laughs from the bridge, "WA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA...!! FINALLY, IT OPENED!! I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING...!!!" He calls to the guards, "HEY, GUARDS OF THE 'GATES OF JUSTICE'!!! COME OUT AND SALUTE!!! THE HERO SPANDAM-SAMA IS MARCHING THROUGH!!!" He points toward the small gate and declares, "THAT SMALL GATE IS PRACTICALLY THE ENTRANCE...!!! THE FIRST STEP GOING THROUGH THAT IS THE BORDERLINE OF HEAVEN AND HELL FOR YOU!!! AND IT'S ALSO THE MOMENT WHEN I'LL CARVE MY NAME INTO HISTORY!!!" Robin is dragged toward the threshold while the gate looms ahead.

Robin's face tightens as she sees the gate and realizes how close she is to being taken beyond rescue. Spandam yanks her along, taunting, "HEEEY, HEY, HEY, HEY, HEEEY!!! WHERE ARE YOU TRYING TO RUN?" He tells her, "TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH, I DO SYMPATHIZE WITH YOU... BUT WHAT CAN I DO? YOUR LIFE IS WORTHLESS." Robin struggles and suddenly bites into the stone bridge, refusing to move. Spandam screams, "THAT BITCH!!!" and then, when the cut cable or leash gets stuck, shouts, "YOU, CUT IT OUT!!" and "HRMM!? WHAT!? SHE'S STUCK!!!"

Robin clamps down on the bridge with desperate force, sweat and tears falling as "DRIP DRIP." Spandam rages, "WHAT THE...!? SHE'S BITING INTO THE STONE BRIDGE!!! WHAT A BAD LOSER!!! SO IRRITATING!!!" Robin thinks, "I FEEL THE SCARINESS OF 'DEATH' SO MUCH... ... I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!" Spandam keeps abusing her: "WHAT A SHAMEFUL ATTACHMENT TO LIFE!!! YOU'RE PITIFUL AND GREEDY!!! YOU'RE ONLY A CRIMINAL!! YOU CAN ONLY MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY BY DYING!!! HOW SHABBY TO THE VERY END!!!" Robin answers silently with hope: "I WON'T MOVE FROM HERE. Lucci turns toward Franky and says only, "DIE." Luffy begins, "GOMU GOMU NO..." and catches Lucci's attention before he can finish Franky. Steam rises around Luffy as he drives in with "JET PISTOL!!!" The blow bursts through the air and slams toward Lucci with such speed that even the leopard assassin reacts in shock. Luffy's body is smoking from Gear Second, and the room shatters around the impact.

The Jet Pistol blasts Lucci backward through the room, leaving broken beams and smoke in its wake. Franky stares and asks, "WHAT DID YOU...!!?" Lucci, knocked aside, notices the steam around Luffy and demands, "WHAT IS THAT SMOKE!!?" Luffy crouches low, body venting with "SSHHHHHAOOO...!!!" and names it: "GEAR" and "SECOND!!!" The fight has changed speed; Luffy is now burning through his own body to keep Lucci from stopping Franky.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON, BUT FINISH HIM UP WITH THAT!!!" Luffy answers, "DIDN'T I SAY... I WON'T LET YOU..." Lucci realizes, "GWAAAH!! Luffy drives both hands forward in "JET BAZOOKA!!!" The double-palmed impact caves into Lucci's guard and sends him flying backward despite his resistance. Lucci crashes away while laughing bitterly, "WA HA HA HA HA HA HA...!! WHAT A STUPID FACE...!! YOU TRIED TO PUT UP A USELESS RESISTANCE!!" Even so, the attack has created the opening Luffy needed.

On the bridge, Spandam urges the march toward what he calls "THE BEAUTIFUL, SPARKLING FUTURE!!!" shouting, "NOW... LET'S GO!!" Inside the tower, Luffy roars, "FRANKY!!! I'LL LEAVE ROBIN TO YOU!!!" Franky turns toward the mission and answers, "SUPER, LEAVE IT TO ME!!!" He charges forward with his fist raised while Luffy keeps Lucci occupied behind him.
