Bananadile

A chaotic battle rages between royal guards and rebels. Soldiers clash with swords and guns amid motion lines and impact effects. A large speech bubble states: "Certainly as you say, the impending violent clash between the royal guards and the rebels might be averted." Below, a map diagram labels locations: "ALUBARNA Royal Army VS Rebels," "RAINBASE," and "NANOHANA." A close-up shows a stitched-face man with an earring saying, "It'll most likely take longer than 8 hours to get from here to Alubarna even if you hurry..." Another voice replies, "I daresay you're running short on time..." A final bubble warns, "I'd give or take about 8 hours before the final clash begins..."

Inside a grand hall with a staircase and chandeliers, a tall man in a striped coat faces away and declares, "So if you intend on stopping the rebellion, you better leave right away, Lest your wish for tens of thousands to die in vain...!" He continues, "I've carelessly dropped the key to this cage in the room below. But at the same time, you can also stay behind and try to save your friends here. As you just saw," A small "!" bubble appears near the floor. In the lower panels, Luffy reacts with shock: "BananadileI" A voice answers, "The choice is yours, Ms. Wednesday..." The final panel shows a dark tunnel entrance with the caption "Down to the Bananadile lair..."

Massive crocodiles with bananas growing from their backs swim in a flooded chamber. Multiple speech bubbles react in panic: "Don't be stupid, it's the other way around. The bananas are growing from the crocodiles.", "What a weird banana.", "AND WE'RE UNDERWATER RIGHT NOW!", "W-WHY'RE THOSE CROCODILES SO BIG!I", "Look, look! Those bananas have crocodiles growing out of 'em!", "Whoa!", and "It's those crocodiles that're weird." A close-up shows a wide-eyed woman gasping "AHH!" with sweat drops. The final panel depicts one crocodile lunging forward with the text "THE CROCODILE IS...!" and a small bubble saying "BITE!" amid splashing water and motion lines.

Nami stares in horror, sweat flying, and cries out, "Swallowed the key just now! One of the crocodiles..." Below, a cloaked figure stands at the base of grand stairs as Vivi's voice calls, "What's wrong, ViviI" A massive bananadile looms nearby with a loud "GULP!" Narration explains, "Bananadiles are ferocious creatures which can even prey on Sea Kings!" Vivi, cloaked in black, panics, "I CAN'T! I'll be eaten as soon as I get near one of them!" An unseen voice shouts, "WHAAAT! WE'LL GET DOWN THERE AND MAKE IT COUGH UP THE KEY!" In the flooded lower chamber, several bananadiles thrash as one declares, "Not only that, you can't even tell which bananadile swallowed the key just now, can you..." Nami reacts with shock, "WHAT!I" The cloaked man smirks, "Oh, isn't that a pity... These buggers have a tendency to think of anything dropped down in that room as food."

Luffy, wrapped in a cloak, yells, "I KNOW THAT!" Zoro replies, "Don't be stupid, Zoro. We can't get out because the crocodile ate the key!" Nami snaps, "Damn it... If I could just get out there, I'd butcher those crocodiles... I HATE THIS GUY!" Crocodile spreads his arms and announces, "It's time we excuse ourselves and go on ahead first." A figure in a cowboy hat answers, "Well then." In the flooding hall, Crocodile continues, "It's served me well during my time as the leader of B.W. but I have no more need for it. Water will soon flood through, leaving this secret room at the bottom of Rainbase Lake for eternity." He adds, "Oh, by the way. This room is set to self-destruct itself in 1 hour from now."

Crocodile looms with arms outstretched, declaring, "Your chances of saving either are low. The lives of a million innocent citizens, or that of 4 small-time pirates with no future... And you'll be wagering with your own heartfelt emotions." The Straw Hats react with shock; Luffy glares, Sanji scowls, Usopp sweats, and Zoro stays calm. Crocodile laughs, "KUHAHAHA! So I hope you're in the betting mood!" He turns away, stating, "It was a pleasure plotting in your kingdom thanks to all the clueless idiots. Ranging from the hot-headed young rebels to the stubborn old digger in Yuba! In such circumstances, I suppose even a princess is powerless to do anything..."

Crocodile glances back and asks, "OhI Do you know himI" Vivi, facing the barred door, replies, "Huh!I Are you talking about that shriveled up grandpaI" Crocodile continues, "He stubbornly continues to dig, day after day... Even though his oasis has dried up long since. Hahaha... Doesn't it just make you laughI" Luffy, furious, demands, "Let me ask you one thing, Straw-Hat Luffy..." Crocodile whirls in rage, "WHAT WAS THAT!I The fool won't give up no matter how many sandstorms come his way..."

Luffy stares in shock, sweat flying as three exclamation marks hover above him. Crocodile looms in close-up, scarred face twisted in a smirk, declaring, "How likely do you think sandstorms would continue to hit the same spot over and over again...I" In the next tier, a cloaked figure with a ponytail and a masked companion stand before a barred window; one whispers, "Don't tell me he..." while the other trails off with ellipses. Further down the corridor, three distant figures walk away. Crocodile suddenly transforms in a massive splash panel, body swelling and coat billowing as he grins widely with "GRIN" and "WHRRR!" sound effects exploding around him.

Luffy's face twists in rage, eyes bulging as he shouts, "IT WAS YOU...!I" Vivi stares in horror beside him. Crocodile's scarred face appears in profile. Vivi grits her teeth, vowing, "YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS..." An old man in a turban exclaims, "Well, I guess I can't blame you since I lost a few." Crocodile turns with a sly grin, asking, "It's me! Can't you recognize meI" In the wide lower panel, Crocodile laughs triumphantly "HAHAHAHA!" while striding forward in his massive coat; Vivi stands frozen in her white cloak as "HA HA HA HA HA!" and motion lines fill the rainy street.

Usopp panics as water floods the room, yelling, "OH CRAP! THE ROOM'S STARTING TO FLOOD!" and "WE'RE GOING TO DIE AT THIS RATE! D-I-E!" Vivi shouts, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME!I THIS IS A TEXTBOOK EXAMPLE OF WHEN TO PANIC!" while Crocodile's voice cuts in, "Calm down, will ya... I'm too young to die in an hour! VIVI! YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING! THIS ENTIRE ROOM'S GONNA BE FLOODED AT THIS RATE!" Vivi glares fiercely, demanding, "HOW DARE YOU..." Crocodile retorts from below, "I KNOW THAT NOTHING WILL CHANGE UNTIL YOU'RE DEAD...!" and "WHEN YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THE SLIGHTEST THING ABOUT ITS PEOPLE OR HISTORY..." Vivi clutches Crocodile's coat, declaring, "CHOOSE BETWEEN MY COUNTRY... OR MY FRIENDS...!I YOU DON'T ACTUALLY INTEND ON LETTING ME CHOOSE, DO YOU!!I EVEN IF I LEFT RIGHT NOW, I KNOW YOU'LL KILL ME BEFORE I EVER REACHED ALUBARNA!" Crocodile's hand reaches out with "TWIRL..." and "CLUTCH" as water splashes everywhere.

Usopp sweats in panic while Luffy, wrapped in a scarf, stands with Vivi and a small figure. Vivi glares upward. Crocodile raises his hook dramatically. In the flooded hall, a massive impact sends debris flying as "UU...!" and "CLANG!" ring out; Crocodile's hook strikes while Vivi ducks low. Vivi cries out, "VIVI!" with a sweat drop. Crocodile turns with a cold stare as Luffy grits his teeth in fury. Sound effects "カツ カツ..." mark tense footsteps amid the rising water and shattered architecture.

Inside the rainy hall, Vivi turns with a desperate expression and calls out, "Luffy... YOU HAVE TO GET US OUT OF HERE! YOU CAN'T GIVE UP!" Crocodile looms over Luffy with a wide grin, taunting, "Kuhaha! Have you started to beg for your life, Straw-Hat LuffyI It's to be expected, of course. Anyone would be afraid to die..." Luffy snaps back in a furious close-up, shouting, "THEN WHO THE HELL'S GONNA GIVE HIM THE BEATING HIS ASS NEEDS!I IF WE DIE HERE,"

Vivi stares in shock as Crocodile sneers at Luffy, "SMALL FRY... DON'T GET CONCEITED," while background figures including Igaram watch from the doorway. Luffy immediately roars back, "SMALL FRY! SPEAK FOR YOURSELF," his face twisted in rage as impact lines flare around him.

A massive Bananawani crashes through the hall with a thunderous "GRRR!" and "SPLASH!" as it emerges from the water. Vivi and Mr. 3 react in horror while Crocodile calmly addresses her, "Don't you wish to stop the rebellion...I If you're going to abandon your friends, you better do it now, Ms. Wednesday." Vivi whispers, "It's... huge..." as the creature towers over the group.

Vivi pleads, "B-but save us too somehow! Vivi, run! That thing's impossible for you!" Luffy yells back, "ARE YOU CRAZY!I THAT THING'S HUUUGE! ALRIGHT! KICK ITS ASS, VIVI!" More Bananawani gather outside the window as one lunges forward. Vivi crosses her arms and declares, "PEACOCK STRING..." while Crocodile watches and says, "So you intend on fighting to the very end... Do what you wish. I'm sure if you kill all of them, the key can be found inside one of their stomachs." The giant creature roars, "ROOOAR!"

A massive Bananadile erupts through the staircase in a shower of stone and debris, jaws wide and eyes gleaming. Someone screams "AGHHHH!" as the beast lunges. Vivi sprints desperately down the ruined steps, shouting "VIVI!" while motion lines streak behind her. "KYAA!" cries a bystander. The monster snaps its enormous jaws, biting clean through the staircase. "THAT THING'S FAST!" yells a man with goggles. "HOLY MOLY!" another voice exclaims. "WHAT THE HELL ARE ITS JAWS AND TEETH MADE OF!I" demands a shocked onlooker. "IT BIT OFF A HUGE CHUNK OF THE STAIRCASE IN ONE BITE!"

The Bananadile looms over Vivi, who lies prone on the rubble. "IT'S GONNA SWALLOW YOU WHOLE!" someone shouts. "STAND UP!" another urges. "RUN AWAY, VIVI!" a third voice cries. "OH CRAP! NOTHING'S GONNA WORK AGAINST THAT MONSTER!" a panicked man yells as "AGH H!" escapes him. The beast growls "Purururu..." repeatedly. Elsewhere, a woman in a feathered coat answers a Mini Denden Mushi with "HelloI" as it clicks and rings "Purururu..." A small exclamation "!" appears above the scene. The creature continues rumbling "Purururu..." while a figure stands in the background.

Through the Mini Denden Mushi, a conversation unfolds. "I've never used a Mini Denden-mushi before... HelloI" says the feathered-coat woman. "Is... Is this thing onI" she wonders. A voice replies, "Yes, I can hear you just fine. You must be one of the millions." "Can you hear meI" "HelloI" echoes across panels. "HmI" "Oh, nothing wrong! I can talk just fine." "Is something wrongI" A scarred man with a stitched face recognizes the voice: "I recognize your voice..." "Ahh..." he murmurs. On the other end, a man in a checkered coat barks, "What're you calling to report!I You on the denden-mushi! Spit it out quickly!" The Denden Mushi itself declares in a large panel, "Hello again. This is the shitty restaurant."
