At the bustling Loguetown fish market, Sanji stands before an enormous fish on display. “WHAT'S THIS FUNKY FISH CALLEDI” he asks. “WELCOME!” the fishmonger replies. “OHH!” Sanji exclaims. The sign reads “THE Fishermen King”. Sanji grins and declares, “I'LL TAKE THE WHOLE THING!” The fishmonger responds, “NO, NO... YOU CAUGHT THIS!I” and explains, “YOU NORMALLY WOULDN'T SEE THESE TUNA PARTS, BUT ONE JUST SO HAPPENED TO SWIM UP HERE FROM THE SOUTHERN SEAS. THIS IS AN ELEPHANT TUNA.” He offers, “SHALL I CUT IT UP FOR YOUI” Nearby shoppers react: “WHAT IS HE, A HOUSE-WIFE...I” “HOLY CRAP! THESE EGGS ARE SO CHEAP!” “WHAT DOES HE NEED AT THE SUPERMARKETI” “DAMN IT, WHERE'D THAT BEAUTIFUL LADY I SAW JUST NOW DISAPPEAR TOI” The fishmonger bows, “THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR GENEROSITY, SIR!” Sanji murmurs, “HMMI”

Nami lounges triumphantly atop a massive pile of purchases, laughing “ALL THIS! I'LL... TAKE...” Later she stands outside a shop, hand on her chin, thinking “HMMI” Shopkeepers call out, “THANK YOU, PLEASE COME AGAIN.” “OF COURSE I DO! HOW RUDE.” “YOU SURE YOU EVEN HAVE ENOUGH MONEYI” “ALL THISI” Nami browses further and asks, “DO YOU HAVE ANY BIG VINYL BAGSI” A voice answers, “EXCUSE ME, MA'AM.” She glances at the sky as thoughts fill the air: “AT THIS RATE, THERE'LL BE A RAINSTORM COMING...” “THE AIR PRESSURE'S DROPPING...” “THE AIR FEELS DIFFERENT...” Nami looks concerned while holding her money.

Luffy stands on a table in the crowded town square, shading his eyes with one hand and staring into the distance with wide eyes and open mouth. “WHOAA!” he shouts. “OHHHH!” he continues. The bustling plaza stretches before him with a domed building and countless people. He declares, “SO THIS IS WHAT THE PIRATE KING SAW, BEFORE HE DIED!” Angry voices from the crowd yell, “HEY, YOU! GET DOWN FROM THERE THIS INSTANT!” SFX “どーん!!” and “わいわい” fill the air as Luffy takes in the historic view.

At the Loguetown execution platform, a Marine officer shouts through a megaphone, "BECAUSE THAT'S A SPECIAL EXECUTION STAND THAT BELONGS TO THE WORLD GOVERNMENT!" A voice from the crowd demands, "WHYI" Below, the officer points upward and orders, "SO GET DOWN FROM THERE IMM..." Luffy lies sprawled on the ground after a heavy impact, his straw hat knocked aside. Alvida stands over him with her iron mace, declaring, "I'VE BEEN LOOKING ALL OVER FOR YOU, LUFFY...! IT'S BEEN AWHILE." She casually tells a nearby Marine, "OH, DON'T BE SO UPTIGHT ABOUT THE RULES, MR. POLICE OFFICER." The surrounding crowd stares in shock as the confrontation unfolds in front of the grand government building.

Alvida presses her spiked mace against Luffy's face. Luffy stares at her and asks, "YOU'VE FORGOTTEN MY FACE...I" She replies, "DON'T TELL ME." Onlookers in the background react wildly, hearts floating as they exclaim, "SHE'S GOT TO BE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN FOR SURE!" "W...WHAT BEAUTY!" "SO PRETTY!" Alvida swings her weapon with a massive "どかぁあああっ!!" sound effect. Luffy, confused, says, "I DON'T KNOW ANY PRETTY LADIES LIKE YOU." He then looks up and demands, "WHO ARE YOUI"

Alvida touches her cheek where Luffy struck her and says, "THAT WAY YOU HANDLED ME SO ROUGHLY..." The crowd reacts with shock: "I HIT YOUR FACEI" "WHAT!I" "I CERTAINLY HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOU... AFTER ALL, YOU WERE THE FIRST MAN TO EVER HIT MY BEAUTIFUL FACE." A large heart-filled "ドキドキーン!!" effect appears as Alvida smiles dreamily, "IT LEFT ME BREATHLESS." She continues, "BUT YOU SEE, I ONLY LOVE STRONG MEN. THERE'S NO MAN IN THIS WORLD THAT WON'T KNEEL BEFORE ME." Pointing at Luffy she declares, "THAT WOULD OF COURSE BE YOU!" and "I'LL HAVE YOU BE MINE AT LAST, LUFFY." The crowd cheers wildly as she asks, "WHO IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ONE AMONG THESE SEAS! TELL ME, PEOPLE!"

Luffy glares angrily and shouts, "JUST WHO THE HECK ARE YOUI YOU'RE SHUT UP, ANNOYING." He adds, "YOU STILL DON'T REALIZE!I" Marines panic around Alvida, one saying, "WHO CARES IF SHE'S BEAUTIFUL! S-SIR, I'M AFRAID SHE'S TOO BEAUTIFUL! JUST ARREST HER!" Another yells, "THIS IS THE POLICE! YOU RIGHT THERE, FREEZE!" Alvida retorts, "YOU THINK YOU CAN ARREST MEI" and "YOU'RE HEREBY UNDER ARREST FOR HARMING A POLICE OFFICER!" She hurls a bomb that explodes violently with "ズゴォオーン!!" The blast sends Marines flying as people scream "AGHHHHH!" "DIE!" and "IT'S A BOMB!"

A massive chunk of broken fountain hurtles through the air toward a woman. "ONE OF THE BROKEN FOUNTAIN PIECES IS HEADED RIGHT FOR THAT WOMAN!" Luffy and a man with a large nose shout in alarm, "WATCH OUT!" The woman, wearing a wide hat and patterned dress, spins gracefully as the rubble misses her completely. Huge impact sound effects explode across the panel as she lands safely, the debris scattering around her.

Luffy stares in shock, sweat flying, "W... WHAT WAS THAT JUST NOW...I" A woman in a wide hat smiles confidently beside him, "MY, MY. WASN'T THAT RATHER DANGEROUSI" In the background, townspeople react to the explosion. Buggy's face looms close, apologizing with sweat, "YOU SHOULD, OF COURSE, BE UNHARMED, MY APOLOGIES BUT WITH YOUR SMOOTH SKIN..." He then beams with hearts in his eyes, "MY LOVELY LADY ALVIDA!" Luffy scratches his head in confusion, "SOMETHING SEEMS A BIT OFF THOUGH..." while Alvida reacts with surprise, "ALVIDA!I WHERE'S ALVIDAI YOU IDIOT!"

Alvida strikes a dramatic pose, declaring, "THE NAME OF MY DEVIL FRUIT IS SUBE SUBE FRUIT! THERE IS NO ATTACK THAT CAN LEAVE A WOUND ON MY BEAUTIFUL SKIN ANYMORE!" She continues, "HAHA, SO YOU'VE NOTICED. MY BODY HAS CHANGED SINCE I ATE A DEVIL FRUIT!" In a close-up she touches her cheek, "THE FRUIT DID NOTHING TO CHANGE MY BEAUTY... UNFORTUNATELY THOUGH," as background townspeople watch. She explains her alliance, "I'VE TEAMED UP WITH HIM, EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINDING YOU! THEN YOU CERTAINLY CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE THIS MAN. IN ANY CASE, IF YOU'RE REALLY FIT TO BE MY MAN... THAT'S NOT WHAT I WAS POINTING OUT... BUT AS YOU'VE POINTED OUT, MY FRECKLES DID INDEED DISAPPEAR!"

Buggy spreads his arms wide in a dramatic flashback panel, narrating, "I TENACIOUSLY FOUGHT MY WAY BACK TO MY CREW, ALL THE WHILE WISHING FOR THE DAY WHEN I WOULD KILL YOU. EVER SINCE THE DAY I WAS BLASTED AWAY..." He continues passionately, "AN ADVENTURE OF MERRIMENTS, HELLISH DANGERS, AND FRIENDSHIPS! A MOST GRAND ADVENTURE FOR THE LITTLE BUGGY! AFTER MUCH PERSEVERANCE... AND WHAT AN ADVENTURE IT WAS FOR I, WHO LACKED A BODY!" Luffy yells angrily from the side, "WAIT, WHY THE HELL AM I TELLING YOU ALL THIS FOR!I" In the present, a small figure points at Buggy, "YOU'RE STILL THE SAME CHEEKY BRAT AS EVER, I SEE!" while a bystander remarks, "OH, IT'S JUST BUGGY."

Buggy the clown rampages through the town square, firing his gun wildly while shouting, "MAKE WAY FOR..... BI! BI! BUGGY THE CLOWN!" and "PIRAAATES!!!" His crew cheers him on. Kabaji balances on a high platform as Buggy yells, "DON'T YOU DARE RUN AWAY, FOOLS! ALLOW ME TO DEMONSTRATE TO YOU MY TERROR!" Luffy, bound and hanging upside down, struggles as Zoro is struck. A voice calls out, "IT'S BEEN AWHILE, RUBBER BRAT." Zoro grunts in pain while someone asks, "IS RORONOA ZORO DOING FINE AS WELLI" Buggy laughs maniacally from below, "GYAHHAHAHA! YOU SHOULD CONSIDER IT AN HONOR TO DIE IN THE SAME SPOT AS THE PIRATE KING DID! NOW THEN, I SHALL COMMENCE YOUR PUBLIC EXECUTION!"

Smoker, shirtless and covered in sweat, sits up with a grim expression as a marine bursts in shouting, "CAPTAIN! CPT. SMOKER! IT'S AN EMERGENCY!" Smoker taps his fingers and mutters, "...tap..." He stands abruptly, rolling his shoulders with a loud "DON!!" as the marine reports, "OUT IN THE PLAZA, PIRATES HAVE..." Smoker glares intensely through the smoke, his face half-shadowed, while the marine sweats and stammers, "RUN... LOOSE..."

Smoker, now fully dressed in his signature jacket with the nameplate "MARINE HEAD-QUARTERS CAPTAIN SMOKER THE WHITE HUNTER," puffs on two cigars and growls, "I'VE GOTTA DO THINGS AT MY OWN PACE, KNOW WHAT I MEANI" and "BAH! YOU JUST BARGING IN HERE IS ONLY MAKING IT HARDER FOR ME TO CONCENTRATE." Marines report nervously: "PIRATES ARE RUNNING WILD IN THE TOWN SQUARE, RIGHTI" Smoker replies, "WELL, UMM..." and issues orders: "THE REST WILL WAIT WITHIN SHOOTING DISTANCE FOR FURTHER ORDERS. THAT'LL BE ALL. WHILE A SECOND UNIT WILL SECRETLY SET UP A PERIMETER AROUND THE TOWN SQUARE, SEND THE FIRST UNIT DOWN TO THE HARBOUR."

Smoker strides through the crowded street and accidentally collides with a young girl carrying ice cream, sending it flying as she cries, "AH!" and "MY... ICE... CREAM..." The girl's father pleads, "C-CAPTAIN SMOKER! P-P-PLEASE FORGIVE MY DAUGHTER FOR...!" Smoker looks down and says, "SEEMS LIKE MY PANTS ATE YOUR ICE CREAM. SORRY ABOUT THAT, GIRL... HERE'S SOME MONEY SO GO BUY YOURSELF A 5 SCOOP ICE CREAM NEXT TIME." The girl stares in shock as the coins are offered.

Tashigi stands flustered in the street as a Marine sergeant hands her a jacket. "HERE'S YOUR JACKET, SERGEANT MAJOR!" he says. She replies, "OH, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, SERGEANT!" Nearby, Smoker shouts angrily, "TASHIGI! WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN!I" Tashigi answers, "SORRY FOR BEING LATE, CPT. SMOKER!" and "T-THANK YOU VERY MUCH, SIR..." She explains, "I WAS LATE BECAUSE I WAS CAUGHT OFF-GUARD BY A SHOCKING SITUATION." Smoker growls, "THAT'S BECAUSE YOU NEED MORE DISCIPLINE!" as the sergeant apologizes, "S-SORRY, SIR..." Smoker then orders, "COME ALONG, THEN. WE'VE GOT OURSELVES AN EMERGENCY TO DEAL WITH." Tashigi responds, "YES, SIR!" A sign identifies her as "MARINE HEADQUARTERS SERGEANT MAJOR TASHIGI."

Zoro walks through the thinning crowd, thinking, "IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING LESS CROWDED HERE..." and "THAT'S ODD..." Nami, holding a bag, notes, "IT MIGHT BE BEST TO QUICKLY RETURN TO THE SHIP. THE AIR PRESSURE IS DROPPING ABNORMALLY." A strange man in an octopus-like costume runs by, complaining, "WHY THE HECK DO I HAVE TO CARRY THE HEAVIER SIDE!" while another figure says, "GOOD THING I MANAGED TO RUN INTO YOU." The costumed man adds, "OH YEAH, I HAPPENED TO SEE A LION JUST A LITTLE WHILE AGO. BUT THERE WAS THIS WEIRD LOOKING GUY IN A COSTUME RIDING ON IT..." Townspeople react with surprise as the group passes. Someone asks, "ISN'T THE EXECUTION STAND RIGHT HERE IN THE TOWN SQUAREI" Another replies, "HE SAID HE WANTED TO CHECK OUT THE EXECUTION STAND..." and "SO WHERE IS HEI"

Marines report to Smoker and Tashigi: "THERE ARE CURRENTLY 3 PEOPLE WITH BOUNTIES IN THE TOWN SQUARE RIGHT NOW." "THEY'VE ROUNDED UP THE CIVILIANS TO WATCH." "WHAT'S THE STATUSI" Smoker asks. One Marine notes, "AH, CPT. SMOKER AND SERGEANT MAJOR TASHIGI!" Bounties are discussed: "HIS BOUNTY JUST CAME OUT THE OTHER DAY BUT IT'S A REAL BIG ONE AT 30 MILLION. HE SHOULD BE QUITE THE TOUGH ONE THEN." "30 MILLION!I" "LUFFYI THAT'S A NAME I'VE NEVER HEARD OF." "AND STRAWHAT LUFFY." "BUGGY THE CLOWN." "THE CLUB-WIELDING ALVIDA." Luffy sits tied at the execution stand, sweating heavily. "ABOUT TO BE KILLED RIGHT NOW." He mutters, "DAMMIT, I CAN'T SCRATCH MY NOSE." A Marine yells, "WELL, UMM... HE'S ACTUALLY THE ONE."
