The Legendary Shipwright

Massive waves crash violently against a multi-story stone building marked with numbers 5, 6, and 7 as the structure begins to collapse. Large sound effects dominate the scene: ビュォォォ... and ドドドドォォ...!!!. In smaller panels below, a dirty warehouse interior is shown with footsteps and creaking sounds (ゴゴ..., KREE). A voice remarks, "THIS DIRTY WAREHOUSE...". Another panel reveals a round structure with the line "I SEE..." as more impact sounds (ビリルル...) echo.

Inside a vast, ruined warehouse once used as the main office of the shipbuilding company, a small round creature stands near a damaged ship while figures lie on the floor. Narration states it "WAS ONCE THE MAIN OFFICE OF THE SHIP BUILDING COMPANY..." and notes "TOM'S WORKERS." Close-up panels show shocked faces reacting with "COMPANY...!I" and "....!I". In the lower section three figures stand in silhouette: Cutty Flam on the left, Iceburg in the center, and Tom on the right, surrounded by rubble and smoke.

A man in a top hat holds up a photograph while a small bird perches on his shoulder; he says, "SO, THIS ROOM OF FOND MEMORIES FOR THE THREE WHO TOILED DILIGENTLY HERE... IS YOUR ALLEGED 'SECRET BASE'." Someone else comments, "HOW CUTE." An enraged man with wild hair and a torn shirt shouts, "..... GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE!!!" and is told "SHUT UP!". In the bottom panel the same angry man yells, "THE BLUEPRINT AIN'T HERE!!!" while a voice notes, "'SHIP-WRIGHT' CUTTY FLAM..." and another states, "ONCE WE HAVE WHAT WE CAME HERE FOR."

Kalifa stands with a calm reply as a top-hatted figure delivers a powerful kick. "I'D EXPECTED THAT SORT OF ANSWER......!!!" "KALIFA." "YES." The blow lands with a massive impact sound "ドシャン!!!" while a fishman-like man stares in shock, muttering "...... ALRIGHT..." and ".........I" In the next sequence the bound captive with a barrel on his head is struck hard. "HEY!!!" A brutal strike follows, accompanied by "WAA OOO!!!" and "SNAP!!!" as the captive reels from the force.

Kalifa swings a spiked weapon into the bound man, producing a sharp impact "パチッ" and his pained cry "OWW WWW!!!" Below, Rob Lucci stands over the scene while the fishman panics. "DAMN YOU!!!" "...... GUH...!!" "OMI-GOSH......!!!" "EEEEE!! WH...WH... WHAT'M I SUPPOSED TO DO...!!I" A close-up shows a stern figure in a hat declaring, "WE HAVE A TRUMP CARD." "IT'S NOT LIKE YOU NEED TO TELL US RIGHT AWAY." The fishman’s face twists in fury.

Rob Lucci addresses the battered captive. "YOU COMMITTED A CRIME." "CUTTY FLAM...." "IT WAS 12 YEARS AGO, BUT..." The captive, Franky, shouts desperately, "TOM-SAN WASN'T A CRIMINAL!!!!" Lucci’s cold reply follows: "DON'T GIVE ME THAT CRAP!!!" "JUST LIKE TOM." Franky continues to rage, "TALK LIKE YOU KNOW ANYTHING!!!!" while another voice cries "TOM-SAN!!!" Lucci answers with quiet menace, "HOW DARE YOU....."

A sudden kick sends the fishman flying amid impact lines and debris. "!!!!" In the aftermath, Lucci speaks to the fallen Franky. "CRIMINALS SHOULD WELL KNOW..." "THE PATH THEY FOLLOW." Franky, still bound, reacts with shock. ".........!!" "YOU ACTUALLY KNOW ABOUT WATER SEVEN!!!I" Another figure warns, "HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK......!!!" Lucci issues a final threat: "NEVER SPEAK A WORD OF WHAT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN, FRANKY!!" Franky’s anguished voice rings out, "TOM-SAN!!!"

A massive flashback panel shows Water City, Water Seven, twenty-two years ago. A grand domed structure labeled with numbers 5 and 6 looms over the water as a young boy screams in terror. Cutty Flam (Franky), twelve years old, stares with wide, panicked eyes and an open mouth, sweat flying as he yells "WAA AAA ~~~!!!" and "あ あ あ あ". In the background, a distant figure is hurled through the air amid crashing waves and debris while onlookers cry "OOO WAAA AAAA!". The scene captures the chaotic moment of a failed or explosive ship experiment in the past.

Battle Franky 8, a shark-like mechanical vessel, lunges through the water and bites down on a massive sea creature. The machine fires wildly with explosive impacts as someone yells "YOU BASTARD!!! TAKE THAT!!!". Inside the cockpit, a figure shouts "IT AIN'T WORKING ~~~~!!". The sea beast roars "GRAA ~~~~!!!!" and "IT'S GONNA EAT ME ---!!" while the rider curses "DAMMIT ---!!!!". The creature thrashes violently, sending debris and water flying as the machine struggles. Distant cries of "OOO WAAA AAAA!!" echo amid the chaos and final impact panels.

In the scrap yard of Water Seven, a teenage Iceburg stands angrily with arms spread, shouting at young Franky: "WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS MAKING THESE WEIRD, DANGEROUS THINGS INSTEAD OF HELPING!!I" and "NMA, WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU DOING!!! YOU'RE GONNA DIE ONE OF THESE DAYS!!!". Franky, wearing goggles and a palm-tree shirt, yells back "SHUT UP! IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, BAKABURG!!!" and "THESE ARE MY IMPORTANT WAR SHIPS!! IT'S A 'BATTLE FRANKY'!!!". Iceburg retorts "WHAT DO YOU CARE WHAT'S GOING AROUND HEREI THIS IS THE SCRAP YARD ISLAND!!" and "WHY DON'T YOU GO GET EATEN OR SOMETHING!!". Franky continues defending his creations: "NMA!! LIKE HECK IT IS, JUST THROW IT ALL AWAY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT!!!", "THERE ARE A BUNCH OF 'SEA KINGS' THE SIZE OF ISLANDS.", "A NEW WAR SHIP THAT CAN WIN AGAINST A SEA KING!!", and "JUST YOU WATCH, I'M GONNA BUILD".

A massive ship structure crashes and collapses with heavy impact sounds "ズゴゴゴオオオ...!!!" and "ドス!! ドス!! ドス!!". A voice calls out "IF YOU'RE A MA~~~N ~~~..." while another replies "YO......". Multiple panels show the falling wreckage and a figure tumbling. The sequence ends with a close-up of a determined face and the command "DO IT WITH A DON!!" as the structure hits the water with a huge splash and final impact effects.

At the shipyard, the massive merman shipwright Tom laughs heartily while clapping his hands. "RIGHT, YOKOZUNAI" he asks his pet. Yokozuna the sumo frog responds with loud croaks, "GERO GERO!!!" accompanied by "CLAP CLAP..." Tom continues proudly, "TAHAHA!! LAUNCHING COMPLETE. I MADE A GOOD, STRONG SHIP. BUILT WITH A DON!" He adds, "I'LL FINISH UP TOMORROW!!" A count reaches "EIGHT!" Inside the main office labeled "TOM'S WORKERS, MAIN OFFICE," Tom bursts out laughing "TAHA...!!!.....!!!......!!" while a long-nosed man identified as Franky (Bakanky) reacts. Voices shout: "HE ONLY MAKES WEIRD WEAPONS!!" "TOM-SAN, DON'T FORGIVE HIM!" "YOU LIAR, BAKANKY!" "I WAS SO CLOSE!!" Someone yells "BAKANKY!!"

In the office, Tom laughs loudly "!!!...!!!.....!!!......!!" as a long-haired woman says "YOU LAUGH TOO MUCH, TOM-SAN." Another voice notes "SOMETHING GOT YOU GOOD." A close-up shows a smiling woman with "OH YEAH," while narration reads "THE TRADE SHIP CARRYING THE WOOD... IT WAS TAKEN BY PIRATES AGAIN." Kokoro, labeled Tom's Workers beautiful secretary, stands with a plate. Other dialogue includes "THIS TOWN'S FINISHED..." "THE NUMBER OF PIRATES INCREASED AFTER THE PIRATE KING DIED." "IT'S BEEN SWALLOWED UP BY THE PIRATE AGE." Yokozuna croaks "GERO GERO."

In a dimly lit room, a long-nosed man with a scar explains the dire state of Water Seven. "AND WE CAN ONLY GET WOOD AND IRON FROM OTHER ISLANDS. WE GET FLOODED BY AQUA LAGUNA, WE'RE LOSING ALL HOPE." A small creature with goggles sweats nervously beside him. Another panel shows the violent sea and pirates halting trade, with fish swimming through flooded streets. "THEN THE VIOLENT SEA AND THE PIRATES HALT THE TRADING. IT'LL BECOME A SHRIVELED ISLAND... JUST WAITING FOR THE FLOOD. IF WATER SEVEN IS LEFT ALONE... PEOPLE ARE LOSING JOBS. THE ZOUSENJYOU PEOPLE ARE FIGHTING DESPERATELY FOR CUSTOMERS." The scene shifts to a warm dining hall where a massive, bearded fishman-like man named Tom sits at the head of a table with young Franky, Iceburg, and others eating. Tom declares, "THIS SAME WATER SEVEN... ONCE RANG IN AN AGE OF ITS OWN WITH ITS SHIPS."

Young Franky bursts out in excitement, "HEY, TEACH ME THE BLUEPRINT OF A PIRATE SHIP!! YEAH, I GUESS. TOM-SAN MADE A GREAT PIRATE SHIP TOO!!!" Tom laughs heartily while Iceburg scolds, "TOM-SAN, YOU LAUGH TOO MUCH." Tom leans in close with a fierce expression, "IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU BUILD, FRANKY. IF THEY PAINT A SEA GULL, IT'S A MARINE SHIP. IF THE SAILORS PAINT A SKULL ON THE FLAG, THEN IT'S A PIRATE SHIP. FRANKY, THERE ISN'T A SINGLE BLUEPRINT FOR A PIRATE SHIP IN THIS WHOLE WORLD!! THROW OUT YOUR CHEST WITH A DON!!!! YOU MUST..." The young Franky stares in awe, a small "HOPE." caption appearing. Later, a young Iceburg works on blueprints as someone asks, "YOU'RE NOT GONNA SLEEP, TOM-SANI WHAT'RE YOU DRAWINGI"

At night by the sea, Tom stands with a determined look, "I THINK WATER SEVEN... CAN BE REVIVED WITH THIS THING." The next day, a massive ornate ship approaches the island. Citizens react in shock, "IT'S A MOVING COURT. WHAT'S A JUDICATURE SHIPI THE JUDICATURE SHIP IS HERE!!! WHO DID IT COME TO TRY!I" Panic erupts as Tom is seized. Franky screams, "TOM-SAN!!!" while others shout, "IT'S OK, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT. HEY, WAIT!!! WHAT DID TOM-SAN DO!I GIVE BACK OUR TOM-SAN!!! MAKE WAY!!!" Tom is dragged away amid the chaos as the Judicature Ship looms over the city.

Inside the grand courtroom, a judge-like figure declares, "IT'S A WORLDLY ISSUE. OF COURSE. IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. YOU'RE HERE NOW..." Tom stands accused as the charges are read, "THE SHIP OF THE WORLD RENOWN VILLAIN, GOLD ROGER... FOR THE CRIMINAL ACT OF BUILDING THE 'ORO JACKSON'..." The judge continues, "WHERE HE WILL BE EXECUTED!!! SHIPWRIGHT TOM WILL BE ACCOMPANIED TO ENIES LOBBY..." Tom glares defiantly. The page ends with the "ONE PIECE" logo.
