Showdown at Alubarna

Sanji grits his teeth in fury, veins bulging, gripping a pipe as he growls “NRGH!” and “NRGH!”. In a flashback panel a small crab-like creature hops while Sanji yells, “YOU BOW-LEGGED FREAK! And that’s when I yelled…”. Nearby voices react: “And ever since then, crabs all around the world have realized just how bow-legged they were…” “OHHH! SO THAT’S WHY THEY WALK SIDEWAYS!” “OHHH! SO SHRIMPS ARE CRABSI” “It was a shrimp! It was another twerp hopping behind him then…”. In the present, Sanji tells Nami, “Just leave him and the others be, Nami…”. Zoro snaps, “SHUT UP! Zoro, stop wasting energy pointlessly.” Usopp and Chopper sit nearby with the camel.

Sanji sits with swirling frustration, thinking, “They’re no good at maintaining composure… Especially that muscle-head. He’s feeling insecure because he’s realized the gap between him and a Shichibukai. They need something to keep their minds preoccupied so they can calm down.” The argument erupts: Zoro barks “THE HELL DID YOU JUST CALL ME!I YOU LITTLE… MARIMO-HEAD!” Sanji retorts “WHAT WAS THAT!I SAY THAT AGAIN, PRETTY-BROWS!” “ME…I SCARED…!I” “Fine, I’ll say it. You’re scared that Luffy might lose.” “WHAT’RE YOU IMPLYING, EXACTLYI OUT WITH IT!” Vivi shouts “Luffy won’t lose!” while Usopp adds “It’ll be fine, guys!” and Chopper panics “EVERYONE’S ON EDGE BECAUSE OF WHO WE’RE UP AGAINST… IT’S TIMES LIKE THESE THAT I, AS THE VICE-CAPTAIN, HAVE TO TAKE CHARGE!” Sanji yells “QUIT IT, YOU DUMB-ASSES!” as Zoro growls “YOU WANNA FIGHT…”

Nami smiles with determination, sweat on her face, declaring “After all, he promised us! He promised he’d meet up with us at Alubarna!” Vivi clutches her arm, worried. Sanji apologizes “Well, I can’t exactly say anything after that, can I now… …Sorry for making you worry needlessly, Vivi.” Vivi cries “OWW!” as Nami scolds “You just stick to worrying about the rebellion, not us!” Usopp panics “AREN’T YOU THE ONE WORRIED THE MOST!I” A sound effect “ガチャガチャガチャ…” echoes. Chopper asks “Uhh… What was thatI” “Scissors. It’s the crab’s name.” “A crab named scissors… Seriously nowI” Nami cheers “COME ON, SCISSORS! Alright then… Off to Alubarna we go!” as the group moves forward.

The scene opens over the ruined town of Yuba, labeled as the Former Rebel Base. Crocodile stands amid the devastation, gesturing at the cracked earth and pools of water. "Look... Look at all this water...!" he declares. A wide view shows the parched landscape with a lone figure kneeling in a shallow pool. "These lands are hardy..." Crocodile continues. "LuffyI Didn't I tell you, There's still all this water underneath...!" Water drips from a rocky ledge with a soft "チャポ..." sound effect as the figure remains motionless in the crater.

Crocodile's face fills the panel, eyes closed in a mocking grin. "Yuba's still alive and kicking...!" he says. The view widens to show him standing in the desert with a limp body dangling from his hook. Massive sound effects "ドン" shake the air. "Yuba will die..." Crocodile states. "And its destruction will only further fuel the rebels' rage. Such cliched empathy and pity for your fellow man is what will destroy this kingdom... This sandstorm should finish it off once and for all..."

Crocodile grabs Luffy by the throat, lifting him off the ground. "If you'd only thrown your worthless friendship away, you'd have lived to see another day! The same applies for you as well, Straw-Hat Luffy." Luffy struggles as water pours from a broken barrel Crocodile holds. "GRAB" "Even all this water can't save you now..." "WaterI" "DRIP DRIP" Crocodile hurls Luffy across the sand. Luffy clutches at Crocodile's coat with a desperate "GLUTTON" as massive impact effects "ドン ドン" erupt. Crocodile glances sideways with a quiet "HmI"

Crocodile stares in shock. "HE'S... STILL ALIVE!I" Luffy gasps for air with strained "HAH HAH...GAH" sounds. Crocodile swings his hook, sending Luffy flying through the air with a massive "ズ ポ...!!" and "SLUMP!" effect. Luffy crashes down, crying out "NGHH... UGH!" Crocodile looms over him with a cruel smile. "You seem to be in agony...! But don't worry, you'll soon rest in peace... Hahaha!" Luffy writhes in pain amid swirling sand and impact lines as Crocodile laughs.

In a barren desert landscape a lone figure lies sprawled on the sand, one hand thrust upward with fingers splayed. "UGH..." the figure gasps as a distant ship sails on the horizon. "Farewell," a voice utters. The prone man laughs weakly, "HAH," while impact sounds "ZUB ZUB" and "DINK" echo around him. The scene shifts to a massive swirling cloud of dust and debris from a tremendous impact. A tiny figure stands at the edge of the crater. "That was a complete waste of my time..." the small figure mutters as a soft "TROD" sounds underfoot.

Smoker glares and declares, "You decide on your own what the right thing to do is." A soldier protests, "Pardon!I" as questions fly: "Or are you telling me to help the royalists quell the uprising...!I Am I to pursue the Straw-Hats there!I" Smoker answers, "You want me to go to Alubarna!I" Mounting his motorcycle he states, "I need to go back out to sea on urgent business. Be ready to receive further orders from me at all times." Tashigi asks, "And where are you going, Capt. Smoker!I" Smoker replies, "Whatever happens, I'll take responsibility. Follow your own sense of justice. That'll be good enough." She wonders, "Just what on Earth is going on, Captain!I" In a wide desert view Smoker adds, "Whether Alabasta falls or survives..." Tashigi stands at attention, "Yes!I Tashigi."

Tashigi sweats nervously with a thought bubble of dots. Smoker, seen from behind, lights his cigars and proclaims, "CRISES LIKE THESE ALWAYS MARK THE TURNING POINT OF AN ERA...!" Tashigi snaps to attention, "O-oh, right...! SGT. TASHIGI! YOUR ORDERS, PLEASE!" In a bustling street scene she grips her sword and orders, "Restock on ammunition so we can then depart for Alubarna as soon as possible!" Her Marines salute, "YES, SIR!" Tashigi raises her blade and announces, "We shall resume our pursuit for the Straw-Hat pirates!" with a sharp "CLUTCH!" sound as she tightens her grip.

A massive black horse rears as its rider in a turban and cloak gallops forward amid swirling dust and motion lines. A caption reads, "Meanwhile, the rebels led by Kouza." The rider shouts, "Continue to quickly close in on Alubarna." In a close-up a scarred man with a fierce expression yells, "We won't allow you to do as you please with Alabasta anymore! We'll be the ones to protect this country!" and "Just you wait, Cobra!" A map panel displays locations including RAINBASE, YUBA, ERUMALU, ALUBARNA, KATOREA, and NANOHANA with arrows marking Royalists and Rebels. A box notes, "The Royal Guards led by Chaka," while another states, "Meanwhile."

At the fortified walls of Alubarna, soldiers scramble to reposition heavy cannons while shouting orders. "HURRY UP AND BRING MORE AMMUNITION!" one yells as another commands, "MOVE THE CANNON TO THE SOUTHERN GATES!" A boxed note reads, "Continued to fortify the capital for the impending assault." "Well, as a faithful soldier who's served him for over a decade, I can't quite swallow it..." "Something sinister must have happened to his majesty!" One soldier asks another, "You there... What do you make of his majesty's appearance at NanohanaI" Commander Chaka reports grimly, "Commander Chaka, the enemies reportedly number over 2 million." In a dramatic close-up, a long-haired royal guard commander with earrings and a fierce expression crosses his arms and roars, "WE MUST PROTECT THIS KINGDOM!" He continues, "That's all the more reason why we cannot afford to lose this battle! Do not hesitate at the enemy's numbers!" Another voice adds, "For the sake of our king... And princess Vivi..."

Evacuation orders ring out across the city: "ANYBODY WHO REMAINS HERE DOES SO AT THEIR OWN RISK!" "ALL NON-COMBATANTS ARE STRONGLY ADVISED TO EVACUATE!" "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES BEFORE THE BATTLE BEGINS!" Citizens flee in panic amid the chaos. Smaller panels show scattered figures with fragmented cries: "'Bouttimethey startedrunning!" "Wishtheyd start thedamn battle already!" and repeated "Fo........." sounds. In a tense standoff, a massive armored man with a shield and ornate helmet stands beside a rotund man in a polka-dot shirt and sunglasses. The armored figure growls, "Idon'tgiveadamn ifthe shaking orwhatever!" and "Justhowlong dotheyintend onmakingus standhereand keepaneye onhim!I" The rotund man defiantly replies, "Iwon'tstand forit! Won't stand! W.S.!" A small figure sits on the ground between them as tension builds.

A scarred man with a stern face sweats heavily while speaking: "I know I'm the only one who can get past the guards and abduct the king but... That doesn't mean theycanjustorder me to babysit him afterwards! Right, Mr.4!I" Nearby voices plead, "AREYAEVEN LISTENIN'!I REPLYFOR GOD'SSAKE!" and "Ack mypoor hip's actin' upagain! Myhip!" In a dusty alley, the round armored man and a small figure stand near a cloaked person as someone cries out, "YOU MUST NOT FIGHT!" and faint voices call, "CHAKA... KOUZA..." The scarred man then declares powerfully, "WE MUST NOT LOSE ANY LIVES UNNECESSARILY!" with large sound effects "ゴオオオオ..." as he asserts, "THE COUNTRY IS ITS PEOPLE!"

A quiet panel shows the scarred man with a sorrowful expression, sweat on his face, beside a narration box: "Those who lament the war..." In the next sequence, fierce combat erupts. The scarred guard clashes violently with enemies, weapons swinging amid motion lines and debris. A second narration box states, "Those who fight it..." The long-haired royal guard commander appears in the fray, mouth open in a battle cry as he swings a massive weapon, surrounded by chaotic fighting and impact effects.
