OZ VS THE STRAWHAT CREW

Luffy charges after Gecko Moria through the ruins, yelling, "Wait!! Moria~~!!!" Moria flees with his usual mocking laugh, "Kishishishishi!!" and warns him, "While doing this, all of your nakamas... become prey to your own fighting strength, Strawhat!!! Kishishishishi!!" That threat lands immediately: behind them, the giant Oars looms over the broken town. Sanji shouts from below, "Hey!! Get out of there!!!" and demands, "What are you doing, interfering with us, Luffy!!?" From the roof, Usopp calls down in confusion, "Usopp!! So that's where you were!!" and then, seeing the others scattered above, blurts, "Why are you on the roof, Zoro!? Franky!? Brook!?" But the creature answers with Luffy's face and none of Luffy's loyalty: "Luffy? He is my enemy! My name is Oz!! Nice to meet you!!!"

The crew tries to process the impossible sight. Nami, high above, asks, "Why is he shouting at the monster!!?" Zoro, still sharp even in the chaos, looks toward Sanji and says, "Moron cook bastard... did you save Nami?" Brook stares at Oars and cries, "What is that~~!!? It has a scary face!!!" Below, Sanji stands badly exposed while the others panic over his position. Robin measures the situation coldly: "This is beyond our predictions. I thought we were only after the shadows..." Usopp admits, "I guess we went a little too wild." Chopper tries to reduce the goal to the one thing that matters: "In the spirit of things, we don't need anything but Luffy's shadow." Oars studies Sanji's wanted poster and the man before him, then declares, "Completely alike... so you are one of the pirates, too!!"

Oars suddenly falls into the rhythm of Luffy's body and speech. He winds up, chanting, "Gooomuuu gooomuuu no~~~" The crew freezes because the motion is unmistakably Luffy's. Chopper cries, "It's Luffy's attack!!!" Usopp asks the worst possible question: "No way, is it gonna stretch!!?" Zoro, watching the giant's arm pull back, says, "Did he become a rubber man, too!!?" The answer comes with a terrifying punch rather than rubber. Oars does not stretch at all, but his gigantic reach already covers the battlefield. He unleashes "Kama"!!! and the blow sweeps across the ruins with so much force that the lack of stretching barely matters. The page turns Luffy's familiar attack pattern into something grotesque: a beloved technique copied by a corpse whose size alone makes it monstrous.

The crew realizes what just happened. Oars's arm did not stretch, but someone gasps, "It... it didn't stretch!!" and another voice finishes the thought: "But... Sanji's attack lands, yet Oars's body answers with frightening speed. The giant twists and moves with a violence that should be impossible for something that large. Sanji ends up in lethal range beneath Oars's enormous foot and the crew sees death closing in. Someone cries, "That's bad!! He's gonna die!!!" Usopp reacts first from above, refusing to let the giant finish Sanji off. He fires his special ammunition and shouts, "Hi no Tori Boshi"!!! The flaming projectile streaks into Oars like a burning bird, exploding against the giant's body and lighting the panel with impact. For a moment it looks as though Usopp's timing may have saved Sanji, but the scale remains horribly uneven: one precise shot against a creature large enough to crush a building by shifting his weight.

The explosion does not stop Oars for long. He swats through the smoke and fire with a huge arm, the blast scattering around him as if it were merely an annoyance. Usopp can only mutter, "Ah..." as the counterimpact erupts with "Bokoon!!" Nearby, Robin, Chopper, and the others watch the situation worsen. Chopper screams, "Waaaa, Sanji!!" while the giant shifts his attention again. Oars turns and announces, "He is coming here!!!" The page keeps the danger moving from one Straw Hat to the next: Sanji has barely survived, Usopp's fire has failed to decide the battle, and now the monster is already choosing another target.

His three swords drive into the opening as he throws himself at Oars's face with "Nigorizake"!!! The slash bites across the giant's head, but Oars is already moving again. Zoro, bleeding and strained from the effort, sees the counterattack forming as Oars begins another Luffy-like windup: "Gomu Gomu no...!!!" The attack is not a rubber punch, but the danger is real all the same. The page shows Zoro doing real damage, then immediately being forced to face the absurd reach and strength of the monster's imitation.

Oars hurls Zoro upward with "Kazan"!!! and the swordsman is launched high above the battlefield. The crew panics at once. Usopp screams, "Zoro~~~~!!" and, seeing the height, shouts, "Are you alive!!? ... No!! He'll die if he falls from that height!!!" Below, Oars stares up while Franky prepares a counter. Franky raises his weapon and snarls, "Eat this, monster!" The muzzle flashes, the shot rockets toward Oars, and the giant opens his mouth in a huge, dark roar as the battlefield stretches vertically from roof to sky. The page pivots the fight from Zoro's close-range slash to a desperate rescue-and-cover attempt by the crew.

Franky's shot detonates against Oars, and he calls the move "Weapons Left"!!! Yet the giant dodges with shocking agility, making Franky shout, "What agility...!! He dodged it again!!" Oars crushes through buildings and sends rubble flying while the crew members are thrown into panic: "Whaaa-aaaaaa!! Franky!!!" and "Brook!!!" A net of arms blooms in the air and catches Zoro before the fall can kill him, turning Robin's power into a lifesaving web amid the collapsing town.

Robin's "Spider Net" holds Zoro suspended, saving him from the fall while Oars crashes past the buildings. The giant notices the web and reacts with "!!?" Zoro, caught and furious rather than relieved, curses, "...Gahu...!! Damn!" Chopper and the others scream as the situation keeps spinning out of control: "Whaaaaa-aaaaa!!!" Usopp, deciding that Oars's zombie nature may be exploitable, lines up another attack and yells, "...!!! Eat this!! You are a zombie, too!!" He fires straight at the giant. Robin watches tensely from the side, the page holding on her expression as she judges whether the crew's improvisation is enough to slow the ancient body down.

Usopp's attempt proves painfully insufficient. He cries, "Killer Technique! 'Salt Star'!!!" and the tiny salt projectile flies toward Oars. A shocked voice realizes, "Tha... that was too small of a quantity for that giant!!!" The attack cannot purify such an enormous zombie. Chopper charges in instead and shouts, "Heavy Gong"!!! driving his enlarged fist into Oars. The blow lands with a tremendous impact, but the difference in size is merciless: Oars hammers Chopper away and Chopper screams, "Gyaaa-aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!" The page carefully shows why ordinary anti-zombie tactics and normal power strikes are failing. The crew is not losing because they are careless; they are testing answers that simply do not scale to Oars.

The battle collapses into a field of defeated Straw Hats. Around Oars's feet, the crew lies battered in the rubble: Sanji, Zoro, Chopper, Franky, Robin, Brook, and Usopp have all been knocked down or pushed to the edge. Oars stands above them and says, "I don't know you... guys at all." The crew, still wounded, answers with anger and recognition. Someone coughs, "*Cough*" while another gasps, "Haa..." Usopp calls out, "Luffy...!!!" Robin says, "You bastard...!" and Oars declares his loyalty clearly: "I am Moria-sama's servant." The response comes as a horrified shout, "Oz!!" The chapter ends with the old monster towering over the fallen crew, Volume 48 closing on the image of Luffy's shadow turned completely against his friends.
