Olvia

A massive bearded giant with a black hat stands waist-deep in water, triumphantly raising a wooden raft overhead while shouting "A RAFT!!" and "I'M DONE!!" with laughter "DERESHI-SHISHISHI." Smaller sound effects show "CREE... GREE..." and "SPLISH SPLISH" as the raft settles. In the next tier, the giant faces a small black-haired girl and asks "YOU'LL BE GONE SOONI" She replies with a sad expression "..." The giant reacts with surprise "WHA' 'APPENED...I YA LOOK SO SAD." In close-up the girl stares silently. The giant leans in with a wide grin and declares "OH YEAH, I THOUGHT OF PUTTIN' UP A FLAG!" and "I'LL BE 'ERE A LITTLE BIT LONGER! DERESHISHI!!" while the girl looks on with a slight smile.

Wide landscape panels show the island shore as the giant asks "YA WANNA GO TO DA SEA, TOO, ROBINI" and she answers "YUP." In a close-up the young black-haired girl smiles brightly and explains "I'LL ASK HER TO TAKE ME TO THE SEA WITH HER!!" while adding "MY MOM'S BEEN BUSY WITH HER ARCHAEOLOGY RESEARCH, BUT WHEN SHE COMES BACK TO THIS ISLAND NEXT TIME..." The giant reacts with shock "EVEN THOUGH YER SO LITTLE!I" and "AN ARCHAE-OLOGIST..." before proudly stating "AND FINALLY BECAME AN ARCHAE-OLOGIST!" The girl sits on a rock in the background as the giant continues "THAT'S WHY I STUDIED SO HARD."

The giant leans close and says "YEAH... I SEE..." while the girl looks down sadly. She murmurs "SO, I WANT TO SEE HER." The giant asks "... YUP, BUT SHE'S MY MOM AFTER ALL." and "YA DON'T EVEN REMEMBER YER MOM'S FACE, RIGHTI" The girl replies quietly "SAUL, DID YOU KNOW...I" In the next section the giant questions "... AH. DA SO-CALLED 'VOID CENTURY'I" and explains "I'M INTERESTED IN IT, BUT DA GOVERNMENT FORBIDS PEOPLE FROM DOIN' RESEARCH ON IT." The girl sits hugging her knees as he adds "THAT WE HAVE A WHOLE CENTURY THAT WAS VOIDED IN THIS WORLDI A HISTORY THAT NOBODY KNOWS ABOUT." The giant's face fills with surprise "... EH...!I" and "IT REALLY IS A CRIME." while the girl watches from afar. In the final panel the giant sits on the shore and states "YUP. I HEARD MY MOM'S TRAVELING AROUND THE WORLD, STUDYING IT.... BUT PLEASE, DON'T TELL ANYBODY ABOUT THIS!"

The large bearded man in the black hat leans in close, eyes wide with alarm. "KNOW 'BOUT 'EM...!I LISTEN UP, ROBIN!! DON'T EVA TALK 'BOUT 'EM IN FRONT OF OTHERS!!" Young Robin stares back with wide eyes. "YOU KNOW ABOUT THE PONEGLYPHS...I" The man continues, sweat flying, "FOR STONES CALLED 'PONEGLYPHS,' AIN'T SHE!I... DA--- DAT MEANS SHE'S LOOKIN'" In a wider view he gestures toward the distant figure on the cliff. "DO YA KNOW... YER MOM'S NAMEI" Robin's expression darkens as she covers her mouth. "ROBIN, YA...... WHAT'S WRONGI" The man presses on, "LET ALONE THAT YER MOM'S LOOKIN' FOR 'EM..." A massive close-up of his shocked face fills the bottom panel, eyes bulging. "OLVIA."

Robin turns sharply, "SAUL...!I" Saul flails backward in panic, arms thrown wide as dust erupts around him. "!!!!" A huge close-up shows his sweating, terrified face. "OLIVIA'S DAUGHTER!!!! ROBIN IS...!!!" Below, Saul sits up in the grass, still shaken. "I DRIFTED ALL DA WAY TO OHARA!!!" Robin stands small against the landscape. "HOLY CRAP!! HOLY FREAKIN' CRAP!! I...!!! WAH!!! NO GOOD...!!!" Saul points toward the horizon. "DIS ISLAND IS CALLED 'OHARA'!I" Robin answers quietly, "...!!! DEN, YA MEAN..." Saul slumps, "YUP."

Saul bursts from the bushes, fist raised. "BUT LISTEN TO ME CARE-FULLY...!!! YA'D BE SURPRISED..." Robin stands on a rock, "ROBIN!!! DIS IS TERRIBLE...... IT AIN'T THE TIME FOR DIS...!!!" A wide view reveals a massive tree and approaching ships. "TO WIPE OUT DA SCHOLARS ON DIS ISLAND!!!" Robin asks, "MARINESI WHY...I" Saul shouts, "MARINE WARSHIPS ARE HEADIN' TOWARD DIS LAND, OHARA, LIKE... RIGHT NOW!!" Close-ups show Saul sweating heavily. "I WON'T LIE T'YA!!! IT'S TRUE!!... THAT'S A LIE!! YA... NEVER EVER TELL DEM GOVERNMENT FOLKS DAT YER A SCHOLAR, OK!I" Robin's face appears in shock, "!!I"

Saul's face looms large. "MIGHT EVEN HAVE RETURNED!! YOUR MOM GO CHECK DA TOWN T'SEE IF ANYTHIN'S WRONG!!" Young Robin runs desperately down a path, motion lines streaking behind her. "HAA HAA!!!I" In the town she sees smoke and chaos. A close-up shows her terrified face, sweat flying. "MOM IS...!!I" Villagers shout, "OLIVIA-SAN...!!! OLIVIA..." Robin stares up at the enormous Tree of Knowledge. "I THOUGHT YOU WERE CAUGHT BY THE MARINES...!I WERE YOU THE ONE ON THE MARINE SHIP!I" Olivia stands in a doorway, looking back at her.

Nico Olvia stands in a long coat, holding her hat, her expression serious. A close-up shows her eyes as she speaks: "IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME," followed by "FIRST THINGS FIRST...". In a flashback panel, she addresses a group: "EVERYONE...". The scholars react with concern. She continues, "BUT WHAT I'VE TOLD YOU IS THE TRUTH." Someone replies, "BAD NEWS,...". An older scholar with a fan-like beard declares, "HAS FINALLY SET ITS EYES ON THIS LAND. THE GOVERNMENT". Olvia looks back, saying, "THAT LEFT THIS ISLAND SIX YEARS AGO...". A sign identifies her: "Archaeologist Nico Olvia". She asks, "DID YOU READ THE NEWSPAPERI... THE TEAM SEARCHING FOR THE PONEGLYPHS...".

In the grand library of Ohara, Olvia stands with her back to the scholars. She states, "ALL 33 OF THEM. I WAS CAPTURED, TOO." and "HAS BEEN OBLITERATED... ALL BUT MYSELF." A close-up shows her face as she explains, "OUR SLAUGHTERED COMRADES' BELONGINGS... THE GOVERNMENT MANAGED TO FIGURE OUT THAT WE ARE FROM OHARA." Images flash of the ruined site. She adds, "AND AFTER CAREFULLY EXAMINING". The scholars react with shock. Olvia, tears in her eyes, says, "YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S HAD A HARD TIME!". An older scholar replies, "SORRY FOR ALL THE TROUBLE... DOCTOR...". Another voice shouts, "IT'S NOBODY'S FAULT. THOSE WHO LEFT FOR THE SEA AND THOSE WHO STAYED HERE ARE ALL ON THE SAME TEAM." Olvia cries out, "STOP THAT...!! I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW I CAN MAKE ANY EXCUSES ANYMORE... THIS LAND IS NOW IN DANGER BECAUSE OF US...!!".

Scholars discuss in the library. One says, "I BET THEY THINK THEY'VE GOT US NOW." Another adds, "THEY WON'T MISS THIS CHANCE...!!". A close-up of Clover shows him stating, "AN ISLAND WHERE SCHOLARS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD HAVE GATHERED... AND CONTINUED TO STUDY ABOUT THE HISTORY... FROM THE BEGINNING... THE GOVERNMENT HAS LABELED THIS ISLAND, OHARA, AS A THREAT." Olvia stands among the group as voices warn, "THEY'LL EVENTUALLY WIPE OUT EVERYONE WHO CLAIMS TO BE A SCHOLAR IN OHARA!!". She turns, shouting with tears, "HURRY UP AND LEAVE THIS LAND, OHARA!!! SO, EVERYONE...". A scholar replies, "YES... BUT WE'VE GOTTEN THE INFO BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.".

In the library, scholars react with alarm. One says, "WE CAN NO LONGER ELUDE THE EYES OF OUR INVESTIGATORS... IT SEEMS," while another notes, "THIS TIME, YOU'RE RIGHT....!!". Olvia shouts desperately, "THEN HURRY...!! IS ALREADY PLANNING TO KILL US. IF THE GOVERNMENT". Clover responds with a stern expression. The scene shifts to the massive Tree of Knowledge on Ohara. Olvia's voice declares, "I CANNOT RUN AWAY, ABANDONING ALL THESE TREASURES OF MANKIND...!!". A voice answers, "YOU SHOULD'VE KNOWN THAT. BUT OLIVIA, I...".

Olvia stands before the gathered scholars and townsfolk, sweat on her face as she addresses them. "EVERYONE." The man in the BOMB shirt grins fiercely while others shout, "OLVIA. SAME FOR US." In front of the stone library building, a scholar declares, "WE CAN'T PROTECT THE PRECIOUS HISTORIES STORED HERE." Another adds, "WE'LL JUST DO OUR BEST THIS TIME, TOO...." A cloaked figure turns away, saying, "I'VE NO IDEA WHAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS IN MIND, BUT IF WE RUN AWAY..." Near the docked ship, voices urge Olvia, "ARE YOU GONNA GET ON THE SHIP OR NOT!!I" "MAKE UP YOUR MIND, OLIVIA!!" Olvia looks down with a pained expression. "... BUT... I SHOULDN'T SEE HER..." The bearded scholar presses, "I KNOW YOU HAVE SOMETHING ELSE IN MIND. BESIDES..."

Olvia declares firmly, "I'M A SCHOLAR OF OHARA. I CANNOT FORFEIT MY PREDECESSORS' WILL!!!" A woman carrying a bag replies, "NO, I'M COMING. WE'LL TAKE CARE OF YOUR HUSBAND'S UNFULFILLED WISH... IF YOU NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILD, DON'T COME!!" Young Robin screams in terror, "WHERE IS~ MOMMY~!I" with large sound effects "うわあああああん". A scholar threatens, "I'LL COME BACK TO YOU, I PROMISE." Another figure states, "I'M SORRY, ROBIN. ONCE WE SOLVE EVERY MYSTERY..." Townsfolk argue, "OUR KID IS TWO, TOO!! I DON'T CARE" and "HEY, HEY, STOP THAT. SHE'S ONLY TWO! I SAID SHUT HER UP, OR I'LL SMACK HER!!!" Robin cries, "MOMMY~!I" while the bearded scholar mutters, "OLIVIA'S DAUGHTER, HUH...I" A small girl peeks into the library, "..."

Young Robin stares through the bars as Dr. Clover smiles warmly. "THIS IS THE WORLD'S GREATEST LIBRARY. DO YOU LIKE BOOKSI" Inside the grand circular library he gestures, "NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE. YOU CAN READ ALL THE BOOKS HERE FOR FREE." Olvia reflects, "THEN...... IF SHE'S DOING WELL," while Clover continues, "AN INCOMPARABLE GENIUS, TOO... SHE'S A LOT LIKE YOU WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD..." Olvia stands resolute among the scholars and Marines. "I CANNOT MAKE HER 'THE DAUGHTER OF A CRIMINAL.' I'LL HAVE TO SEVER ALL TIES WITH HER. ONCE I'VE STEPPED ONTO THIS PATH," she says as the group watches her walk away.

A man points in alarm, "THERE'S A SHIP WITH THE WORLD GOVERNMENT FLAG ON IT THIS TIME!!! DR. CLOVER!!" with large SFX "ばんっ" and "だだだだだ". Olvia shouts to the crowd, "YOU'RE NEITHER MY NAKAMA, NOR MY ACQUAINTANCES!! PLEASE REMEMBER THAT!!" as a figure calls, "EVERYONE!! LISTEN...!!" Olvia runs forward desperately, gripping her rifle, "OLIVIA!!! WAIT!! WHAT'RE YOU DOING!!I" with SFX "カチャク!!" while declaring, "NO MATTER THAT HAPPENS!!!"

On the shores of Ohara, the massive Tree of Knowledge looms over the island as agents arrive by boat. "HEY!! NOTIFY HEADQUARTERS. WE'RE HERE." they shout. The team rushes inland at full speed, legs pounding the ground. "FASTER!!" "GO!" with rapid sound effects trailing behind. In the town, Spandine leads a squad of armed agents in black suits and hats. He points forward and orders, "GUYS, TAKE ANYBODY REFERRED TO AS A 'SCHOLAR' INTO CUSTODY." One agent replies, "YES, SIR!" Spandine smirks to himself, "I WONDER IF THIS'LL GET ME PROMOTED OR SOMETHING." Another sighs, "SIGH, SO TROUBLESOME."

Panic erupts in the streets as a young girl with short black hair sprints desperately. "A WOMAN WITH A GUN IS IN TOWN!!" "WHAT'S GOING ON!!I" people scream. The girl pants heavily, "HAA" "HAA" "...I" A voice cries out, "DOCTOR!! EVERYONE....!!!" In the square, a blonde woman with a large rifle runs forward with a fierce expression, shouting "MOM!!!" as terrified civilians scatter around her. Impact lines and motion effects fill the chaotic scene.

Jaguar D. Saul clutches his head in anguish, tears streaming down his face. "I'M SORRY ROBIN.....!!!!" he cries. "... HOW COULD DIS BE....!!I" A small panel shows a Marine ship approaching Ohara. "HAS CHIEF SPANDYNE OF 'CP9' ARRIVED AT OHARA." "VICE ADMIRAL KUZAN, SIR!!" "... WHAT IS IT" the crew reports. Kuzan, wearing a black cap with a Marine symbol, wakes up furious and stretches his arms wide. "JUST TO TELL ME THAT, ASSHOLES!!I" he roars. "DID YOU HAVE TO WAKE ME UP" "WHAT'S THAT...I" A subordinate stammers, "I... I'M TERRIBLY SORRY, SIR!!" A caption box reads "Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral Kuzan (Later known as Admiral Aokiji)".
