Chapter 712 is titled "Violet." The cover-story line reads: "Caribou's Kehihihihi in the New World - Volume 30 - Run now, Gabull!! Well, if you insist." The cover continues Caribou's side story, showing the Gabull misunderstanding continuing separately from the main Dressrosa action.

The story backtracks in Dressrosa, thirty minutes before Caesar's appointed exchange. Sanji is already wounded and cornered by Violet, who reads him with unnerving certainty. She says, "Everything is laid bare before me. From the moment we met, I've seen right through you..." Sanji coughs and pants, blood on his face, while Violet lists the physical evidence of his condition: "Your collar is crumpled, your necktie bent... and your shirt covered in blood." She also strikes at his pride: "I've heard that your weakness is women, but... to this extent?... Pathetic." Sanji is a mess, but the page makes clear that Violet is not merely guessing. She knows things she should not know, and Sanji is being examined by someone whose ability reaches past appearances.

08
Violet reveals herself as a Donquixote Family assassin from the Trebol Squad. Her introduction calls her "Assassin: Violet," and her allies mock Sanji: "Gyahaha this worthless pest was drawn right in by big sis' charm!!" Violet addresses him directly: "What a shame of man you are... 'Black Leg Sanji'. Did you really think that you had won my heart? Fufu... don't make me laugh." Sanji, still battered, insists, "Violet-chan... haa... haa... you're lying," while another voice tells him, "Oi, keep dreaming! That was all an act, before!!" Violet presses harder: "You really have a beautiful heart... but you were tempted by these bad men into a position you really don't want to be in... Even after all this, you're still saying that?" Sanji's belief in her is not shaken, even when every visible sign says she has betrayed him.
SanjiViolet
09
Sanji's attackers mock him for his loyalty. One asks, "Do you ever drop the lovey-dovey crap?!" and another calls his devotion "Ridiculous." Sanji is struck again, but even through the beating he says, "What a kick!! Oo big sis!!" while the men around Violet praise her beauty with cries like "Gyahhh she's merciless! So so beautiful!" The violence is real, not a romantic comedy misunderstanding. Sanji is being kicked, slammed, and mocked by people who believe Violet has only used him. Yet his expression and words keep pointing in the opposite direction: he believes her tears and heart are real. The page keeps the contradiction alive by showing Sanji taking damage while still refusing to condemn Violet as a simple enemy.

Violet exposes the power behind her confidence. While Sanji is pinned and watched, she says, "While suppressing your rage at me... you've been looking for a chance to escape... Did you think you could convince me with these lies?" A note explains that "Giro Giro" can be approximated as "glare glare." Violet declares, "Fufufu... lies won't work on me... I ate the 'Giro Giro no Mi' and became an 'insight human'." She explains, "I'm a woman who can see through anything... Men are liars through and through. Full of nothing but lies..." She commands him, "Show me, won't you? That head..." and then uses her ability to interrogate his mind: "Why did Trafalgar Law and Strawhat join forces? What are your goals, both on Green Bit and on Dressrosa? What sort of plans... what are you scheming? Don't bother speaking. The answers are all in your mind. We'll be able to round up your whole crew..."

Violet looks inside Sanji and finds something she did not expect. Sanji remembers her earlier eyes and says, "...That time... your eyes!!" Violet had told him, "There's a man I want you to kill," and Sanji answers now, "You were speaking the truth...!!" He insists that he could never doubt her: "...Even... even if a million people denounced you... I could never doubt a woman's tears!!" The declaration is absurdly sincere, and it hits Violet hard enough to make her flinch. Her men explode in anger: "Big sis!! If this perverted bastard is no longer of any use, let us take care of him!!!" and "What kind of bullshit is that? You don't deserve to live!!" Violet, who had been controlling the situation through vision and manipulation, is shaken because Sanji's mind proves exactly what his mouth said.

Violet finally turns on the men using her. One shouts, "Wait, big sis!!" while she strikes with the technique "Hierro Lagrima," crying, "Your head!!" The attack lands like a tear-shaped iron blow, and a note explains the naming through Spanish, Japanese, and English: "iron tear." Her former allies are hit hard and scream, "Wait, big sis!!" Sanji, still injured, watches as the woman he believed in proves him right. The men who called him a fool now become her targets. Violet's betrayal of the Donquixote side is not casual; she has been trapped in Doflamingo's service and chooses this moment to break the script. Sanji's trust gives her the opening and emotional push to act against the family she had been serving.

Violet kneels by Sanji and admits the truth. Sanji says, "Violet-chan... I knew it... Doflamingo's men used you against your will... Don't worry about me!! Just get out of here... Black Leg!!" Violet tells him, "We know all about what you people are doing here. You're really a shame of a man...!! To believe in an enemy, from the bottom of your heart. Thank you for before... you made me so happy..." She asks him to look inside her head: "Look this way, Black Leg. Take a look inside my head. This is a memory from this morning, on Dressrosa..." Sanji worries, "A trap!?" Violet answers by showing him the crucial memory: "From the moment you brought Caesar to this island... you've been falling right into his trap." She clarifies that Sanji has come too far from the ship and that Doflamingo's plan is already closing.

The memory reveals Dressrosa's public confusion after Doflamingo's supposed resignation. Citizens shout, "Your majesty!!" and "Please don't tell us you resigned!!" while someone reports, "There's 4 government ship in the harbor!!" People call, "Doflamingo-sama!!" and demand, "Please explain this!! Why abdicate the throne!?" Sanji, watching through Violet's memory, sees that the citizens are noisy but not yet panicked. Someone identifies the visitors: "It's Cipher Pol 'Aegis' Zero." Another says, "They're officials who answer directly to the World Nobles!!" CP0 speaks to the crowd: "Calm yourselves, people of Dressrosa. In regards to the reported matter of Doflamingo's abdication and relinquishment of the title of Shichibukai..." The appearance of CP0 proves the issue is not ordinary politics. The World Government itself is involved in shaping what Dressrosa is allowed to know.
CP0 announces that the report was false. A masked official says, "That was a mistake. A faulty report." The message continues: "Still, the world will not be informed of this until a special edition at 3 o'clock today. So until then, mum's the word!! Exposing this information is strictly forbidden!!" CP0 tells the public, "Citizens, please proceed calmly... as if nothing had happened at all." Doflamingo's citizens are expected to swallow the reversal and return to normal. Sanji and Violet understand the implication: Law and the Straw Hats acted on a fabricated report. Doflamingo did not truly lose his throne or his Shichibukai position, and the World Government's correction is being delayed long enough for the trap at Green Bit to spring.
Sanji is terrified by the scale of the deception. He says, "So we've been taken in, hook, line, and sinker...!! The World Government!? He's gone beyond the scope of the authority wielded even by the Shichibukai." Violet admits, "I'm... I'm too scared of him to run, myself...!! But you might be able to make it in time!! So hurry up and contact your people!!!" The scene jumps to the present at Green Bit, where Law's Den Den Mushi buzzes. Law asks, "What's going on?" and Sanji answers, "Yeah, it's a real pain. I'm heading to Mariejois now to question the Gorosei... sorry, this is just how it is...!!" Law snaps, "Just what do you mean... Saka-san... Even Marine Headquarters was misinformed...?" The call confirms that Doflamingo's lie was not a small local trick. Even the Marines were fed the wrong reality.

Robin contacts Law from underground just as the Green Bit negotiations collapse. She reports, "I heard the conversation just now! That was Sanji, right?" Usopp panics nearby: "Uohhhhh!! Half a woman popped out!!" and shouts into the Den Den Mushi, "Oi!! Where are Nose-ya and your real body!? If what we just heard is true, our negotiations are about to break down." Robin says, "Well... we're underground right now!!" Usopp screams, "Nico-ya!! Alert Nose-ya!! We've got to escape from this island quickly!!" Law asks, "Whaddya mean break down? What about the plan to hand me over!?" Robin answers that they are in trouble, but not dead yet: "We've found ourselves in a bit of trouble... but we're both safe." Law cannot back them up and tells them, "We can't back you up, but if you need to escape, go ahead and do so." Robin accepts: "Okay then... underst." The crisis splits the team: Law must face Green Bit while Robin and Usopp survive underground.

The appointed time arrives: 3 PM. At Green Bit, Doflamingo steps into view with the laugh "Fuffuffu fuffu...!!" Law stands opposite him with Caesar nearby, and Fujitora's Marines gather behind. Doflamingo taunts, "Gahhhh!! M... Marines!! But wait... maybe that's alright!?" and Law answers, "Oi, Law!!" Caesar, still captive, panics about the power now surrounding them: "Having quit the Shichibukai, I can't help but be a little scared!!!" Law knows the truth now and snaps, "Liar!!" Doflamingo mocks the situation: "Well done, really, I mean it!! And can you believe it! Even a Marine Admiral has shown up..." The exchange point has become exactly what Sanji warned about: not a negotiation, but a staged confrontation with Doflamingo, Fujitora, and Marine forces all present.

At the same time, the Corrida Colosseum begins C-block. The announcer calls, "At the same time: Dressrosa's Corrida Colosseum," and the crowd roars. Luffy, still outside the ring in his disguise, is shouted at: "Strawhat! When did you slip into the ring!?" and "Stop trespassing, Cavendish!!" In the arena, the announcer declares, "It's the 139 fighters of C-block!! Battle royale!! What's gonna win!!?" The starting bell sounds and the crowd screams, "Gyaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!" An old fighter says, "I've been waiting for this!!! Let's do it!!" The page returns the story to the tournament just as Green Bit reaches crisis. Luffy's block is starting, but the broader Dressrosa plot is now moving faster than any single match.

C-block explodes into action. The crowd screams and the fighters crash together while Luffy, still as Lucy, charges in with his usual enthusiasm: "Let's do it!!!" Combatants shout and collide across the ring, with the arena swallowed by dust and noise. The page emphasizes scale rather than a single exchange: dozens of fighters rush at once, and the first wave of the battle royale becomes a mass brawl. The named contenders from earlier are now in motion, including Chinjao's group and Luffy's disguised self. While Green Bit becomes a political trap, the colosseum becomes a physical storm, and the chapter keeps both pressures active at the same time.

News spreads across Dressrosa and beyond. Papers cry, "Special edition!!" and "There's a revision in the news!!" while the narrator notes the correction is simultaneous all over the world. Citizens react with confusion: "Eh!?" "Was a mistake!!?" and "That big news about Doflamingo..." The bottom of the page returns to Green Bit, where Doflamingo explains the trick with a grin. He says, "Just like in a big magic show... the secret to the trick is hidden somewhere quite simple." Then he names Law: "Law." The deception is now public, but too late to help the people already trapped by it. Doflamingo used the World Government's authority, delayed correction, and theatrical misdirection to make every opponent act on false information.

Doflamingo lays out the meaning of the trap. He says the plan "could never be so simple" and that the fixed misconception "presents the perfect blind spot...!!" Law is furious, but Doflamingo reminds him, "You're a pirate!! Even a Shichibukai wouldn't have that kind of authority!!" Caesar realizes, "Someone with the power to do something so outrageous...!! Only the likes of the Celestial Dragons could manage that!!" Doflamingo answers with a deeper threat: "Fufuffu ffu... It's a much deeper story than that." He tells Law, "You don't know anything of Joker's past. And that will be your downfall!! You could, you be...!?" Then he drops the mask of amusement: "But in any case... Law! I've been wanting to kill you!!" The chapter ends with Doflamingo's power, history, and hatred converging on Law at Green Bit.
