Somewhere, Someone Is Wishing for Your Happiness

At the harbor of Cacao Island, Bege's escape looks impossible. The Charlotte forces shout, "BEGE! YOU'RE COMPLETELY SURROUNDED!" and "THEY'RE DONE FOR!" while another report says, "LORD OVEN HAS BEEN SHOT BY BEGE!" The sea is blocked off and the island forces demand surrender: "WE'VE CLOSED OFF THE SEA!" and "GET OFF YOUR SHIP! AND THE LAND, TOO! GIVE IT UP!" Oven, bleeding but still standing, holds Chiffon and asks, "DO YOU CHOOSE TO FIGHT? VERY WELL. I SHALL CARRY OUT YOUR EXECUTION MYSELF!" Chiffon asks, "WHAT SHOULD WE DO, SISTER? OUR SHIP CAN'T LEAVE THE HARBOR ANYMORE!" Bege has only just rescued her, but Oven has already turned the harbor into a killing ground.

Bege answers the trap with the Nostra Castello's secret form. His ship transforms, and people scream as its paddles turn into tank treads: "IS AMPHIBIOUS!" and "ITS PADDLES TURNED INTO TANK TREADS!" The castle-like ship roars onto land with "VRRM VRRM VRRM," crushing through the harbor instead of staying boxed in at sea. Bege's enemies panic: "STOP YOUR SHIP, BEGE!" and "IS THIS A SUICIDE ATTACK?!" When the ship collides with the shore, soldiers yell, "HE'S COLLIDED WITH US! SHOOT HIM DOWN!" Bege only smiles and says, "OUT OF THE WAY, WHIPPERSNAPPERS. THIS SHIP, THE NOSTRA CASTELLO, IS..." The sentence becomes action as the ship proves it can fight on land as well as water.

Bege explains why no one expected this: "I'VE NEVER EVEN HEARD OF SUCH A TRICK!" someone cries, but Bege laughs, "CAUSE I NEVER TOLD YA ABOUT IT!" His ship fires on the harbor as the troops shout "FIRE!" and are blasted aside. Bege asks, "WHY WOULD I REVEAL MY HAND TO A BUNCH OF LOUTS I PLANNED ON BETRAYING ANYWAY?!" The Nostra Castello smashes through the defenders, and the cake team realizes what he intends. Chiffon calls, "PASS THE CAKE OVER TO US!" while others panic, "ARE YOU CRAZY?! WE COULD NEVER SAFELY TRANSFER A CAKE OF THIS SIZE ONTO SUCH A FAST-MOVING SHIP!" Bege is not trying to dock politely; he is creating one violent chance to take the cake aboard.

The cake carriage is suddenly lifted into the air. The cooks cry, "UWAH! THE CARRIAGE IS FLOATING!" and "WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON?!" while Chiffon shouts, "CLEAR THE DECK, BEGE!" Pudding, seeing Sanji's work, calls out, "SANJI DEAR!" and Sanji answers from below, "PUD-DING!" With one leg, Sanji has launched the enormous cake carriage high enough to cross the gap. Bege stares at the impossible feat and asks, "WHO THE HELL IS THAT?! HOW IS HE LIFTING THAT WITH ONE LEG!" A cook recognizes him: "BLACK LEG!" Bege immediately understands the opportunity and says, "GOOD! BRING IT!" The transfer succeeds because Sanji turns the impossible weight into a clean pass.

The cake lands aboard Bege's ship, and the crew erupts. They shout, "CLEAR THE DECK!" and then, "WE MADE IT!" as the giant cake settles safely on the Nostra Castello. Chiffon praises Sanji: "YOU'RE AMAZING, BLACK LEG!" while Bege bellows in relief and urgency, "BEGE! BEGE!" Pudding, flustered by Sanji, is told, "LADY PUDDING! KEEP IT TOGETHER!" Soldiers are left stunned by the sight, muttering, "S-SUCH ARE THE GERMA!" only to be corrected: "I'M NOT THE GERMA!" The important result is simple: the cake is finally on the ship. The plan to stop Big Mom has survived Oven, the harbor blockade, and the impossible transfer.

Oven tries to stop the escape directly. The crowd screams, "LORD OVEN! PLEASE RUN!" but Oven stands in the path and declares, "I'LL STOP YOU! COME!" The Nostra Castello rolls forward and runs him over with a heavy "SQUISH" and "VRRM." Bystanders shout, "HE GOT RUN OVER!" Bege and Chiffon do not slow down. They study the map and plan the route: "WE NEED TO HEAD FOR THE SOUTHEASTERN SEAS, BEGE!" Chiffon explains there is no clean route: "WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO CRUSH A FEW CHOCO HOUSES ON THE WAY. THERE'S NO OTHER WAY WE CAN MAKE SURE ALL OF US GET OFF THIS ISLAND!" Bege comforts Pez, "THERE, THERE, PEZ. I KNOW, IT WAS NOISY, RIGHT?" while the ship keeps moving.

The Fire Tank Pirates push away from Cacao Island. Bege's crew asks, "WHAT'S THE MATTER, PEZ?" and Chiffon, still unnerved by Pound's intervention, says of him, "HE'S STILL HERE... WHO EVEN IS THAT GUY?! A PERVERT?" Bege laughs, "KYAHHAHA! YOU SURE DO LOOK HAPPY!" At sea the ship rumbles forward, and the crew warns the pursuing forces: "ARE YOU GOING TO LET THEM GET AWAY?!" They tell the battleships, "BATTLESHIPS! HEAD FOR THE SOUTHEASTERN SIDE OF THE ISLAND!" and "HOLD OFF ON THE CANNONS! THE CAKE WILL BE DAMAGED!" The Nostra Castello reaches the open water, and Chiffon says, "WE'VE MADE IT OFF CACAO ISLAND!" while another celebrates, "NOW THERE AREN'T ANY BATTLESHIPS TO CHASE AFTER US!"

The sea itself begins to change. Someone yells, "SOMETHING'S WEIRD WITH THE OCEAN-RERO!" while Sanji notices, "IS IT JUST ME OR IS IT GETTING HOT IN HERE?" Oven, furious, shouts, "I DIDN'T DO IT FOR YOU, BLACK LEG!" Fish rise to the surface, and the crew realizes, "THE FISH ARE ALL FLOATING!" One person explains, "THEY'VE BEEN BOILED BY THE HEAT OF THE OCEAN?!" Sanji quickly identifies the cause: "THERE'S BUT ONE PERSON THAT CAN DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT..." Oven stands in the boiling sea and reveals the power behind it: "HEAT-HEAT FRUIT POWER!" and "THAT'S OVEN'S!" The danger has changed from a blockade to a heated ocean that can cook the crew, the cake, and the ship.

Oven's heat threatens the cake itself. Sanji says, "IT'S HOT! THIS IS BAD! THE CHOCOLATE'S TEMPERATURE IS GOING TO BE AFFECTED! AND THE WHIPPED CREAM WILL MELT! AND I DOUBT BIG MOM WILL BE HAPPY WITH BOILED FISH!" The ship rocks as the water boils around it, and the crew realizes, "THE HEAT'S DESTROYED OUR PADDLES!" Bege's men shout, "OI, OI, ARE YOU TRYING TO SINK THIS SHIP?!" and Sanji warns, "LORD OVEN! HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN JUST HOW IMPORTANT THIS CAKE IS?!" Then something strikes the sea near Oven. People call, "LORD OVEN! LOOK OUT!" while Pez starts laughing suddenly, making Chiffon ask, "WHAT'S GOING ON, PEZ? WHY HAVE YOU STARTED LAUGHING ALL OF A SUDDEN?"

A huge figure rises from the water and grabs Oven, shouting, "STOP THIS AT ONCE!" The crowd stares and asks, "WHO THE HELL IS THAT?!" and "LORD OVEN'S ARCHENEMY?" as Oven is pulled away from the ship. The attacker is Wadatsumi, working with the Sun Pirates, and his intervention cools the crisis just enough for the Nostra Castello to move. Oven's heat stops spreading through the water, and Bege's crew calls, "FATHER! THE TEMPERATURE OF THE WATER IS DROPPING!" The command follows: "RUN THE PADDLES! WE'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF THIS HOT WATER AS FAST AS WE CAN!" The crew answers, "ROGER!" Wadatsumi's appearance turns Oven's advantage into a temporary opening for escape.

Oven recognizes that the old giant did not drown and accuses him: "SO YOU DIDN'T FALL INTO THE WATER, HUH... YOU... ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL YOUR SON-IN-LAW?" Pound, still smiling despite everything, says, "I KNOW NOT YOUR NAME, MY GRANDSON!" Chiffon urges the crew, "QUICKLY! MOVE US OUT OF HERE!" In the middle of the chaos, Pound remembers Big Mom from long ago, when he tried to speak to her about their children. She told him, "BECAUSE I COULDN'T. ARE YOU HAPPY? I'M GOING TO MAKE SURE YOUR MOMMY AND DADDY TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOU, OKAY?" Then Big Mom rejected him: "THEY'RE BORN. I'M DONE WITH YOU." Pound pleaded, "LINLIN! LET ME HOLD THEM AT LEAST ONCE! THEY'RE MY CHILDREN!" but he was denied even that.

Pound's memory continues from twenty-six years earlier, marked by "SQUEEZE" as he remembers being separated from his newborn daughters. In the present, he sees Chiffon at last and thinks, "CHIFFON... I'M GLAD I GOT TO SEE YOU, IF ONLY ONCE. I GET THE FEELING SOMEONE'S AFTER YOU, BUT..." Pez laughs, and Chiffon says, "YOU LOOK HAPPY. I'M GLAD." She reassures her son, "IT'S OKAY! WE'LL BE OUT OF THE HOT-HOT WATER SOON, SON!" Pound reflects on the life she must have had: "I WAS SO WORRIED! I'M SURE YOU'VE HAD ROUGH DAYS, AND SAD DAYS." He apologizes from afar: "I'M SORRY I COULDN'T BE BY YOUR SIDE THEN, CHIFFON. I'M EVER SO LATE, BUT I STILL WANT TO SAY..." His words come as a father's blessing she never hears.

As Bege's ship escapes, Pound gives Chiffon the message he has carried for her entire life: "CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR MARRIAGE!" The Nostra Castello splashes away while the crew shouts, "WE'VE MADE IT OUT!" and "LET'S GET AWAY FROM 'EM NOW, WHILE WE CAN!" On the Sunny inside Big Mom's territory, the crew continues forward, but the panel lingers on Pound's blood dripping from Oven's blade. Pound has stayed behind to protect Chiffon, Pez, and Bege's family without ever being recognized by the daughter he saved. His final act is not a victory speech but a private blessing for the happiness he was never allowed to share.

The chapter returns to the chase at sea. Big Mom sees Bege's ship and screams, "THERE YOU ARE! GIMME THAT CAA-AAKE!" The crew aboard Bege's ship shouts, "KEEP RUNNING!" and "IF WE STOP, WE'RE DONE FOR!" They know they cannot feed her yet because the cake still needs its final work. On the ship, Sanji says, "WE'VE GOT TO GET STARTED ON THE DECORATION!" while Pudding warns, "HURRY! WE DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME!"
