Friend or Foe

In the underwater plaza of Fish-Man Island, a crowd gathers as flashbacks unfold. "He was there that day, and he witnessed it all...!!" "He used to be a pet of the Neptune Army, you know." "Megalo told me everything that happened...!!!" "A few years after the incident..." Shirahoshi stands tearfully while Neptune grips a rifle. A massive shark-like face looms with fury: "What nonsense is this, Shirahoshi...I!I!" "You knew I murdered your mother...I" Neptune reacts in shock. "!!I" "I thought that telling others would only cause them to hate him deeply...!!!" "But, Princess Shirahoshi...!!! Why did you not tell us of thisI!" "Because..." Megalo the shark cries out. "And that is something my mother would never have wished for...!!!" "Wha...I!" The scene erupts into chaos as Hody Jones attacks, chains and weapons flying. "Father! You must be strong...!!!" "Urgh..." "Pant... pant..." "Shirahoshi...I!" Water splashes violently.

Shirahoshi weeps, sweat and tears streaming down her face. "That no matter who the culprit may be... we must not give in to hatred!!!" "It was the final promise... that I made to my mother...!!!" Neptune stares in disbelief. "You mean..." Shirahoshi continues: "I would never wish for you to be consumed by anger and hatred on my account... So no matter who... is responsible for this..." Hody Jones snarls nearby. "!!!" The princess recalls her isolation: "Concealing the truth in your own heart, locked away in Shell Tower...I!" "...By bearing that knowledge alone...I!" "...You have protected our mother's wishes... For these ten long years..." Megalo watches from the background as the emotional confrontation deepens.

Hody Jones mocks the scene. "Not one among us can compare to such a pure and honest girl...!!!" Shirahoshi stands firm. "Even if it was her mother's final dying wish... to actually honour it should be almost impossible...!!!" "To bear no hatred for the killer of one's own mother!!" The crowd reacts in the plaza. "Had you told any other, our plan would have been ruined!" "...For choosing to reveal your secret only to this foolish brat...!!!" "Ohhhh, Megalo...!!! I must thank you..." "How dare you laugh!!!" Hody bursts into laughter: "Jahaha hahaha hahaha!!!" "Jahaha hahaha!!!" He declares: "Thanks to you, Shirahoshi, your father, your brothers, and all your loyal subjects are going to die!!!" "Thanks to your refusal to hate me, this entire kingdom will fall!!!" "Listen to me, Shirahoshi!!! Your decision was nothing but stupidity!!!" Shirahoshi's eyes widen in despair as the threat hangs over the kingdom.

Neptune thrashes in heavy chains as Hody Jones looms over him with a manic grin. Hody laughs wildly, "JAH AH AHAHA HAH!! LIKE HELL IT WASN'T!!" A desperate voice cries out, "NO!!! DON'T LISTEN TO THIS FIEND, PRINCESS!!! YOUR DECISION WAS NO MISTAKE!!!" Neptune roars back in defiance. Massive impact lines and debris erupt as Hody unleashes a devastating strike, the word "YABUSAME!!!" exploding across the panel. Fish-Man soldiers are hurled through the air amid shattered stone and chains. Below, panicked citizens scream, "KING NEPTUNE!!! THE PRINCES!!!" while Hody continues cackling, "JAHA HAHAHA HAH!!!" and terrified onlookers wail, "AAAAA HHHHH HHHH!!!" The entire square shakes from the force of the assault.

A colossal chained wrecking ball smashes into the ground with a thunderous "ドスッ!!!!" impact, kicking up clouds of dust and debris. Neptune lies battered on the stone. Shirahoshi watches in horror, tears streaming down her face. A fish-man soldier shouts, "YOUR MAJESTY!!!" as the crowd panics. Hody Jones stands triumphant, roaring with laughter, "GYAH HAHAHAHAH!!! LOOK HOW PATHETIC THEY ARE!!" The princes lie defeated nearby. Citizens cry out, "MY BROTHERS!!!" and "FATHER!!!" while Hody's mocking laughter echoes across the ruined plaza.

Panicked citizens shout, "MADAME SHIRLEY! WHEN IS THAT PIRATE GONNA COME AND DESTROY THE ISLANDI" and "WHATI" as fear spreads. Others lament, "THERE ARE NO SOLDIERS LEFT TO FIGHT FOR HIM...!!! AND THE ENEMY IS A HUNDRED THOUSAND STRONG!!" and "THE GREAT WARRIOR NEPTUNE IS REALLY GOING TO BE KILLED!!! THIS IS TERRIBLE...!!!" In a separate scene, a fortune-teller named Shirley kneels before a crystal ball, sweat dripping as she murmurs, "...IT HAPPENS RIGHT NOW!!" and "IT COULD HAPPEN TOMORROW... OR A YEAR FROM NOW..." while her companions react with shock. Children wail, "ME TOO!! ME TOO!!" and beg, "I THINK HE SHOULD COME NOW, TOO!! I DON'T WANT THE KING TO DIE!" as the island's terror mounts.

Citizens scream at the sky, "...IF YOU'RE GOING TO DESTROY THIS ISLAND SOMEDAY... COME AND DO IT NOW!!!!" and "ARE YOU LISTENING, STRAW HAT LUFFYI!!!!" while others agree, "I THINK THEY'RE RIGHT, TOO...!!!" and "I AGREE WITH THE KIDS...!!!" A massive crowd gathers, chanting, "STRAW HAT!!! STRAW HAT!!! STRAW HAT!!!" and pleading, "IF YOU'RE HIDING SOMEWHERE ON THE ISLAND, THEN COME AND SHOW YOURSELF!!! COME AND TEAR THIS WHOLE PLACE APART!!!" Shirley's voice cuts through the chaos: "SUCH HOLLOW, EMPTY SCREAMS... BESIDES... JUST ONCE, SHIRLEY'S PREDICTION CAN'T POSSIBLY BE TRUE... UNBELIEVABLE. THIS BRINGS A WHOLE NEW MEANING TO 'CLUTCHING AT STRAWS'." The desperate roars echo through the crumbling streets.

Panic erupts across the scene as fish-men scream in terror. "YOUR MAJESTY!!!" "AAAAAG HHHH!!!" A massive figure holds Neptune's severed head aloft, roaring, "WATCH AND DESPAIR!! THE HEAD OF NEPTUNE, FORMER KING OF THIS COUNTRY, IS ABOUT TO FLY!!!" Another voice declares, "I THINK IT'S TIME SOMEONE HAULED YOU DELUSIONAL FOOLS BACK TO REALITY!!!" Shirahoshi cries out desperately, "FATHER!!!" Megalo the shark reacts with shock, "RRUUOO... OOHHI!!" and "MEGALO...I!!" while smaller figures yell "EH HI!!" Shirahoshi pleads through tears, "PLEASE, PROTECT MY FATHER!!!" and shouts, "LUFFY-SAMA!!!" The shark spits violently with a loud "BLECH" as chaos swirls around the floating head.

A fish-man stares in shock with "!I" as the ruined plaza comes into view. A voice proclaims, "THE SHAMEFUL KINGDOM OF RYUUUGUU... IS DEAD!!!" followed by a mournful "ALAS...!!!" In the center, Luffy launches a powerful kick into Hody Jones's face, sending the shark fish-man flying backward with a massive impact. Hody howls in pain, "NGUOH HH!!!!" Debris and water explode outward from the force of the blow as Luffy's strike lands squarely.

Luffy bursts onto the scene from above the ruined plaza, water and debris flying everywhere. Crowds react in shock: "STRAW HAT LUFFY!!!!!" "IT'S REALLY HIM!!!" "HE REALLY... APPEARED!!!!" A massive impact SFX "ゴォォォォ" shakes the area as Luffy's form is silhouetted against the destruction. Onlookers gasp "!!!I" while others shout "EEEEHHHHHHHHHI!" and "THAT'S...!!!" The entire plaza erupts in surprise at his sudden arrival.

The crowd reacts wildly to Luffy's appearance. "KYAHHH!! HE WAS HERE ALL ALONG BUT WHYI!!" "FROM INSIDE THE SHARK'S MOUTHI!!" "DID YOU HEARI! PRINCESS SHIRAHOSHI CRIED OUT TO HIM FOR HELP!!!" "HE SAVED KING NEPTUNE FROM HODY!!!" Shirahoshi sobs, "...BUT THE CIRCUMSTANCES DEMANDED IT!!! I DID NOT MEAN FOR YOU TO SHOW YOURSELF SO SOON..." and cries, "LUFFY-SAMA!!!" An unseen voice wonders, "MUHIHI!! WHAT'S THISI! WHO IS HE TALKING TO NOWI!!" while another shouts, "HURRY UP, YOU GUYS!!!" In the background, Luffy stands ready as fish-men discuss his sudden intervention. One mutters, "...OF LUFFY REALLY STAYING HIDDEN LIKE WE PLANNEDI" Another replies, "AFTER ALL, WHAT WERE THE CHANCES..." and "DON'T WORRY! WE TOOK CARE OF THINGS AS QUICKLY AS WE COULD!" with a final "MUHIHII!"

Nami suddenly appears in the chaos, releasing her Mirage technique as she declares, "MIRAGE RELEASE!" She holds up a letter and shouts, "THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED, RIGHT, JINBEI-CHANI! THE TENRYUUBITO LETTER! AND I'VE GIVEN THE KEYS TO ROBIN." A fish-man cheers, "EXCELLENT WORK!! WELL DONE!!" Below, chained prisoners panic as one yells, "MY KEYS TO THE CHAINS ARE GONE, TOO!! THE LETTER!! IT'S GONE!! WHEN THE HECK DID SHE...I!I!" Another cries, "WHAA AAI!" The scene shifts to the sky where someone shouts, "LOOK UP IN THE SKY!! WHAT'S THATI! A WHALE, AND... A LIONI!" A massive chained sea creature and a lion-like figure descend amid the panic, with cries of "MY CHAINS...!!" and "AHHH HH...!!!"

A massive cannon fires as a voice yells, "FIRE!!!" and another roars, "GAON CANNON!!!" The blast strikes a pirate ship, sending it flying amid massive explosions and debris. Onlookers scream, "IT'S A PIRATE SHIP!!!" and "AAAAA ARGH HHH!!!" A whale-like creature surfaces with the cry, "HOEEE EELL!!!" while someone encourages, "YEAH!! GO FOR IT, WHALE!!!" The massive impact creates huge waves and chaos across the water.

The whale attacks again with "HOEE EELL!!" as voices shout, "THEY TOOK BACK THE ROYALS!!!" and "YOU'RE NOT TAKING THE ROYAL FAMILY, GYABAN!!! HOLD IT, BAGON!!!" A fish-man cries out in pain, "GAHH HH!!!" Narration notes, "IT WOULD APPEAR... THAT JINBEI HAD ORGANIZED SOME KIND OF PLAN WITH THE STRAW HAT PIRATES...!!!" The massive ship and sea creatures collide violently in another huge explosion, with screams of "AAAAA ARGH HHH!!!" filling the air.

The Straw Hats stand together as fish-men demand answers: "ENEMIES OR ALLIES...I HOW ABOUT... JUST TELL US ONE THING!!! ARE YOU ENEMIES OF FISHMAN ISLANDI! OR ARE YOU OUR ALLIESI! HAVE YOU REALLY BEEN KIDNAPPING MERMAIDSI! WHY DID YOU TAKE OVER THE PALACEI! ARE YOU REALLY HERE TO DESTROY THE WHOLE ISLANDI!" Luffy stares forward while Nami says, "...YOU DECIDE THAT..." The crowd reacts with shock, "IT'S THE STRAW HATS!!!" and "HEY, STRAW HAT LUFFY!!" as the massive group of allies and enemies faces off.
