THE SONG OF LIFE

The ship approaches a massive ruined building on a summer island. Voices shout, "LOOK, LOOK!! ANYONE!! 45 DEGREES!!" and "LOOK, LOOK!!" Brook yells, "YOHOHO HOHO!! AH!! I'M ALONE!" He dramatically falls with "BROOK~!!!" while a large bubble shows him lying down. The crew reacts with excitement: "IT'S A SUMMER ISLAND!! THERE'S A BEACH!!!" "SING THE LANDING SONG~!!!" "WAKE UP!! WE'VE SPOTTED AN ISLAND!!!" and "HEY, BROOK!!! HOW LONG ARE YOU GONNA SLEEP!I" Brook lies on the ground with "HUH!I" as impact sounds "DODODODODO!!" and "FUGA" erupt around him.

The crew urges Brook: "C'MON!! THE LANDING SONG!!!" "DON'T YOU KNOW WE CAN'T START WITHOUT YOU!!!" Brook panics, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING, BROOK!I" while others yell, "AH!!! UH... UM... UM!! HUH!!I WHAT, WHAT!!I NO...!!! WHAT!I" Brook clutches his head in pain: "OWW!! YOHOHO, IT HURTS!" "YOU'RE DREAMING!!" "WHAT'RE YOU SAYINGI" "HOW ARE YOU ALL STILL ALIVE!!I WHAT'S GOING ON!!I" and "EVERYONE'S HERE!!I WHAT!I I'M SO HAPPY...!!! WHAT---!I" He kneels in shock before the ruined building, realizing, "THIS IS REALITY!!!" and "THAT OTHER PLACE WAS A DREAM!! I'M SO GLA..." with heavy breathing "HAA... HAA..."

In a grand hall, voices call out to the skeleton musician. "LET'S DO A QUINTET!!" "PLAY THE PIANO FOR US!!" Brook stands silhouetted by the piano as someone says, "HEY, BROOK..." A flashback shows the Rumbar Pirates' ship sailing away. "WE WILL CONTINUE... TO CARRY ON YOUR WILL!!" "WE'LL RETURN TO LABOON IN THIS NEW SHIP!!" "CAPTAIN YORKI... I WONDER IF HE ESCAPED SAFELY FROM THE CALM BELT." "ONLY THE OCEAN KNOWS!!" The scene shifts to a raging storm where the ship is battered. "UHAAAA!! YOU DID IT, BROOK!!!" Luffy shouts with excitement. "YOU HAVE A BOUNTY NOW!!!" The crew struggles as waves crash over them. "A HUGE STORM! THE SAIL WILL BE TORN OFF!!!" "SO WHAT!I WE'LL SING THROUGH IT!!!" In the present, Brook inserts chopsticks into his nose and plays the piano. "HUUUUUUUUH!I YOU CAN DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!!!I" Luffy yells in shock. "... UMM." Brook replies calmly. "YEAH!! I'M DANCING WITH CHOPSTICKS IN MY NOSE!!" "HEY, WHAT'S WRONGI PLAY MORE, BROOK!!" "YOHOHO, PLEASE WAIT A MINUTE."

Brook holds up a large conch shell. "IT RECORDS AND PLAYS BACK SOUNDS. IT TRULY IS A RARE SHELL." "THIS IS A TONE DIAL THAT I BOUGHT FROM A MERCHANT SHIP A LONG TIME AGO." Luffy leans in curiously. "A SONG." "WHAT DID YOU RECORDI" "OH! FROM SKY ISLAND!" Brook explains, "THAT'S WHY I ALWAYS CARRY THIS WITH ME." "OH, YOU KNOWI I WANT TO LISTEN TO THIS WHEN WE MEET AGAIN." Luffy asks, "IS IT ALL RIGHT IF I PLAY IT NOWI" "I'M SURE LABOON WOULD LOVE TO HEAR IT, TOO." "YEAH, I WANT TO HEAR IT, TOO." The shell plays as everyone sings along. "YEEEAA AHH!!" "HMMI IF IT'S THIS SONG, THEN LET'S ALL SING IT TOGETHER!!" "JAN JARAN ♪" "JAN JARAN ♪" Brook finishes, "THEN..."

The devastated battlefield lies in ruins under a bright sun. "ARE STILL ALIVE...I" "... AROUND HOW MANY..." A lone figure kneels amid scattered weapons and debris. The survivors speak weakly. "BECAUSE WE'RE PIRATES... WE'RE READY TO DIE AT ANY TIME..." "THE DOCTOR IS DEAD, TOO..." "... THEY POISONED THEIR WEAPONS..." "... HAHA, SO THIS IS THE END FOR US..." "EVEN IF WE'RE ALIVE NOW... NO ONE'S GOING TO COME SAVE US..." "BUT... THERE'S JUST ONE FUN REGRET..." "HAA" Brook's silhouette appears. "... THAT'S RIGHT." "THIS IS MY FIRST TIME DYING." "YEAH, BUT..." "BROOK, YOUR... 'YOMI YOMI' FRUIT." "... LABOON..." "IF WE'RE GOING TO DIE... IT'S BETTER IF WE HAVE FUN DOING IT..."

Brook stands tall with his back to the viewer, afro and suit sharply silhouetted, and asks the gathered skeletal crew, "DO YOU GUYS WANT TO SINGI" The Rumbar Pirates react with shock and rising emotion. One skeleton cries, "REALLY DO COME BACK FROM THE DEAD..." Another stammers, "IF... I..." while tears and sweat fly. A close-up shows a hand gripping a conch shell as Brook's voice continues, "LABOON'S... THE CAPTAIN'S... EVERYONE'S... FAVORITE SONG...!!!" The narration box reads "TONE DIAL..." and the final panel declares, "I MUST DELIVER THIS..."

On the deck of the ruined ship the crew shouts encouragement: "WE'LL PLAY IT FOR LABOON...", "RIGHT, DON'T GIVE IN UNTIL THE VERY END!!!", "YEAH...!!!", and "...TO THE ONE WHO WAITS FOR US EVERY DAY AT THE TWIN CAPES, OUR NAKAMA, LABOON!!" Brook counts, "THREE, FOUR..." as the band strikes up. "TAN... TAN..." The music explodes into frantic violin and cello playing with onomatopoeia "JAN JARAN ♪ JAN JARAN ♪" repeated across panels while Brook plays passionately, sweat flying.

Inside the grand, ruined hall the full orchestra and choir erupt in song. Brook's voice rings out, "YOHOHOHO~! ♪ YO~HOHOOHO~♪" repeated across wide panels as skeletons dance and play wildly. The music builds to a crescendo with Brook at the piano, eyes wide, belting, "GOING~ TO DELIVER~♪" while his hands crash across the keys. The final panel shows his intense face as he shouts, "NOW!!"

Brook walks alone across the vast, wrecked stage as a giant speech bubble declares, "BINKS' SAKE...♪" The full crew, including Luffy, Usopp, and many others, sings at the top of their lungs: "RIDING ON THE WAVES~♪", "FOLLOWING~ THE SEA BREEZE♪", and "FAR ACROSS THE SALTY DEEPS♪" while waving arms and instruments. Onomatopoeia and musical notes fill the air as the entire hall vibrates with the roaring chorus of "BINKS' SAKE."

A massive crowd of pirates sings with wild energy, fists raised and mouths open wide. Musical notes fill the air as they belt out the lyrics: "PAINTING CIRCLES IN THE SKY" and "THE ME~RRY EVENING SU~N". Brook's skull head appears in a small panel, humming "HM~ HM~ HM~ HM~". In the flashback, the Rumbar Pirates launch their ship to cheers from a massive crowd. Brook stands on deck declaring, "THIS IS THE LAUNCH OF THE RUMBAR PIRATES, WHO MAKE CRYING CHILDREN SMILE!!!" and "IF YOU WANT TO COME ON MY SHIP, ALL YOU NEED IS TO LOVE MUSIC!!!" The crowd roars, "UOOO~!!" as flags wave. Later scenes show the crew battling sea creatures and storms. A voice cries, "WHY...!I LEAVING ONLY THE ACCOMPANIMENT..." The whale Laboon appears, and the pirates shout, "PUOOO~!!", "WAIT FOR US~!!", "COME BACK!!", and "LABOON, WE WILL DEFINITELY..." The ships sail onward with the sound effect "SHI~~N" as the crew continues their voyage.

Brook's skeleton lies on the floor with broken glasses nearby as Luffy calls out, "LABOON...!" In the present, Luffy grins widely and shouts, "JUST ONE OR TWO MORE YEARS... WILL YOU ENDURE THAT FOR MEI" while a skeleton in a top hat plays the piano. The skeleton replies, "IF YOU'VE BEEN WAITING THERE FOR ME FOR 50 YEARS NOW..." The full skeleton figure of Brook declares with burning eyes, "AND I WILL FULFILL OUR PROMISE AND REUNITE WITH YOU FROM THE FRONT!!! I STILL... HAVE THE PIRATE SPIRIT!!! YOU'RE STILL FACING THE OPPOSITE WALL AND WAITING FOR ME..." Luffy smiles in the background as the emotional reunion unfolds.
