Massive waves crash as a gigantic elephant leg stomps down, sending water and debris flying. A voice wonders, "HOW CAN I STILL STANDI" Another asks, "WHAT'S HAPPENING...I" while sound effects read ドゴォン and a resounding pulse. Below, a dragon-like figure with sharp teeth sweats heavily as musical notes play "DOOM DUT DA DA ♪". A voice laughs "AHAHA HAHAHA!!" while declaring "BUT I FEEL LIKE I'M HAVING A BLAST..." and "I JUST LOST..." More musical notes and "DOOM DUT DA DA ♪" continue. A horned woman stares in shock, exclaiming "ZUNESHA SAID THATI!" while a sword pierces a cloud-like mass and a voice cries "...JOYBOYI!" as another states "LUFFY IS..."

Luffy lies panting on the floor with wide eyes, gasping "PANT... PANT..." Someone shouts "SIR PIRATE! YOU'RE AWAKE!!" while another screams "KYAAH!!" and "GAH!!" A sign labels the location PLEASURE HALL, RIGHT BRAIN TOWER. Nearby, a spotted-fur character yells "IS THAT SIR STRAW HAT...I!" while another demands "WHAT THE-I!" A sign reads LIVE FLOOR. Below, two bloodied figures cry out "YOU'VE GOTTA BE OKAY, RIGHTI! BIG BRO..." and "LUFFY'S STILL ALIVEI!" while a third calls "HEY, YOU TWO! HE'S STILL BREATHING!" An older man with glasses reacts "STRAW HAT...I" as Luffy's name echoes through the chaos.

A silhouetted figure dances wildly against a bright circle as laughter rings out "AHAHA HAHAHAHAHA!!" and musical notes play "DOOM DUT DA DA ♪". Large text declares MODEL: "NIKA"!! Narration explains that far and wide they are the embodiment of "the Warrior of Liberation," supposedly only limited by their imagination, putting smiles on faces, while the user's body gains rubber properties in combat. Awakening exponentially strengthens their rubbery body and grants even more freedom. It is allegedly... "SUN GOD" NIKA! On the right, the Gorosei discuss in front of Pangaea Castle and Mary Geoise. One asks "ARE WE SURE OUR PRIORITIES ARE STRAIGHTI" while another states they sacrificed one of their best agents and enraged Kaido. They debate the Gomu Gomu Fruit, noting the world government has always failed to acquire it even after 800 years, that it may be better to snuff out this problematic fruit, and that it is almost as if the fruit itself is evading us. One concludes "WELL, THAT'S NOT IMPOSSIBLE."

Inside the collapsing castle, Hiyori shouts desperately, "H-HIYORI!!" A sign reads "TREASURE REPOSITORY, 2ND FLOOR." A massive voice declares, "...THE MOST RIDICULOUS POWER IN THE WORLD...!!" An enormous impact erupts with "ビリビリ!!" and "どん!!" as rubble flies. Someone cries, "IT WAS ALL KAIDO, HE WAS USING ME!!" Another pleads, "WE CAN STILL RUN AWAY TOGETHER!! JUST REMOVE THESE NAILS AND..." A figure adds, "I-I REALLY ADMIRED ODEN...!! THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING...!!" In close-up, a battered man with a mustache growls, "DID HE NOTI" A smiling figure in a floral kimono plays a shamisen with "BEBENG♪ BE-BE-BENG♪" while asking, "MY FATHER KEPT HIS PROMISE." The mustached man roars, "WHO WOULD STILL BELIEVE YOUI YOU SPAT IN THE FACE OF A SAMURAI YOU OWED."

The fox-masked figure continues playing the shamisen with "BE-BENG♪" and states, "...YOU AND KAIDO WOULD HONOR THE SECRET ARRANGEMENT YOU MADE AND FREE WANO! HE NEVER EVEN TOLD HIS OWN FAMILY!!" A flashback shows a dancing man as the voice explains, "HE DANCED LIKE A FOOL FOR FIVE LONG YEARS BECAUSE HE THOUGHT..." More narration reveals, "...IF HE WITHSTOOD BEING BOILED FOR AN ENTIRE HOUR!! EVEN WHILE HIS BODY WAS BURNED BY THE OIL..." A close-up face shouts, "HE STILL EXPECTED THE SAME OF YOU WHEN YOU AGREED TO LET THEM GO..." Another panel declares, "MY FATHER WAS A MAN WHO KEPT HIS WORD!!" The fox-masked one asks, "WHAT'S THE MATTER, HIYORII" while rubble falls and a distant figure plays music amid "わあああ..." and "ズドン..." A man screams in rage.

The mustached man yells, "BECAUSE... I HAVE YOU GUYS!!" A tall man in a hat replies, "OF COURSE I AM! YOU KNOW WHYI" A young girl with buns asks, "FATHER, ARE YOU REALLY OKAY WITH WHAT EVERYONE SAYS ABOUT YOUI" In a flashback, a figure says, "AS SHOGUN, I CAN ENSURE HIS LEGACY IS RECOGNIZED... YOUR FATHER--" Another exclaims, "OH YES!! I'VE ALWAYS SAID ODEN WAS A GREAT SAMURAI!!" The fox-masked one reacts with "...!!!" The girl smiles, "REALLYI! THEN I SWEAR I'LL ALWAYS BE HERE FOR YOU!!" A dramatic close-up shows a woman with flowers in her hair, tears streaming, shouting, "I AM KOZUKI HIYORI!!! HOLD YOUR TONGUE, YOU MISERABLE WRETCH!!"

Hiyori continues, "EVERY DAY YOU WERE SHOGUN WAS ONE TOO MANY!! YOU, ON THE OTHER HAND, NEVER HAD A TRACE OF HONOR!! I WAS ALWAYS PROUD TO CARRY MY FATHER'S NAME, EVEN WHEN I WAS STARVING AND COVERED IN RAGS!!" An explosion sends debris flying with "EEEEEEK!!" Orochi stammers, "I... HAVE FAILED..." as a voice calls, "OROCHI-SAMA..." He begs, "DON'T DO SOMETHING YOU'RE GOING TO REGRET!! W-WAIT!! STOP!" A figure retorts, "SEEKING REVENGE IS A DATED IDEOLOGY, YOU KNOW!! BESIDES, KILLING ME MAKES NO DIFFERENCE, KAIDO WILL STILL BE UNBEATABLE!!" Someone shouts, "GO ON!! TAKE HER!! GUFUHAHAHA!! 'THE FAILED REVENGE OF A SHREW, 20 YEARS IN THE MAKING!' BURN THAT WOMAN TO ASH!!" A voice adds, "YOUR TIMING IS IMPECCABLE!! THIS IS THE IDEAL STAGE FOR YOUR FINAL PERFORMANCE!!" A shadowy figure asks, "IS THAT YOU, KANJUROI!" as another says, "THIS IS AS FAR... AS I GO..."

A burning figure screams in agony, "GYAAAAH!!" as flames and smoke erupt around him. Nearby, a voice cries out, "OROCHI-SAMA... THAT'S THE WRONG WAY!!" Below, a small character plays a shamisen with "DOOM DUT DA DA" notes while muttering "...ALWAYS KEEPS ITS PROMISES!! THE KOZUKI CLAN..." In the next panels, frantic voices shout, "KANJURO, YOU IDIOOOOT! HIYORI, SAVE MEEEE!! IT BURRRNS!!" A determined woman with floral hair ornaments declares, "THE DAWN WILL COME..." Crackling energy fills the air as Luffy, transformed, announces, "GEAR FIFTH!! THIS IS MY PEAK!! THIS IS..." He continues, "I FEEL LIKE ANYTHING'S POSSIBLE NOW... I CAN KEEP FIGHTING A BIT LONGER," with his heartbeat pulsing "DOOM DUT DA DA" and a small monkey-like figure reacting nearby.

A massive dragon crashes through buildings in a fiery explosion, sending debris flying as someone yells "WAAAAH!!" Below, a dragon-headed figure shouts, "HEY!! YOU GUYS!!" Swords clash with "THUD" sounds as fighters tumble. A horned warrior reacts with "WHA-" In close-up, the dragon's eye widens in shock: "IT'S ON THE ROOFI!" Another voice demands, "WHAT THE HELL IS THATI!" The dragon glares upward with "!" and "I" effects.

Shocked faces react: "LUUFFYI!" and "STRAW HAT...I!" as a swordsman yells, "WHERE'S IT COMING FROMI!" Conqueror's Haki erupts with "DON" and "BISH" effects while fighters shout, "H-HEY! WHAT'S HAPPENINGI!" A giant dragon coils upward amid rubble. Luffy's massive fist smashes down with "SMASH!!" and "GRAB!!" as the dragon roars "WHAATI!" Below, allies cry out, "KAIDO-SANI!" amid the chaos.

Luffy's punch connects with a massive "CRASH!!" and impact effects, sending Kaido reeling. The dragon twists with "SHISHISHI!!" laughter turning to pain. Kaido counters with "TAKE THIS!!" and unleashes a fiery "BLAST BREATH!!" as Luffy yells, "STRAW HAT...!! SO YOU'RE STILL ALIVE...!! I'M GRATEFUL." The dragon slams repeatedly with "SLAM!!" and "BANG!!" sounds, roaring "AAARGH!!" while Luffy is hurled through debris.

Luffy's massive Gear 5 foot slams down amid explosive smoke and debris as the battle reaches its finale. "A-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!" he laughs wildly while upside down in his rubbery awakened form. The page declares "THE BATTLE REACHES ITS FINALE!! NEXT ISSUE COVER AND COLOR SPREAD!!" alongside bold "GEAR5" lettering. In a close-up, Luffy grins and declares, "DON'T SWEAT IT!! I DIDN'T WANT TO WIN LIKE THAT. SORRY ABOUT THAT IDIOT FROM BEFORE, NOW, LET'S FINISH THIS!!" Kaido's dragon head reacts with shock: "WOAAAAAHI!" and "HMI" as Luffy stretches and strikes with a massive punch labeled "HUP!" and "ばち". The impact sends Kaido flying with "ズィィィィィン!!" and "がしぃ!!" sound effects. Kaido counters with a fiery blast, but Luffy's enormous fist smashes forward again. "URGH!!" Kaido grunts as the dragon is driven back. Luffy's determined face fills a panel: "NOW, LET'S FINISH THIS!!" The final spread shows the colossal Gear 5 punch colliding with Kaido amid rubble and motion lines, ending the chapter.
