In a ruined city square, a mink in a black cloak says "I BELIEVE YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT MASTER NEKOMAMUSHI." Another replies "IN FACT, LONG AGO... AHHH... WHAT WAS THE NAME OF THAT CAT AGAIN...I" A voice notes "HMI". Luffy is told "YOU THERE... YOUR 'STRAW HAT' SUITS YOU QUITE WELL..." and responds "WELL, RATHER THAN DISCUSSING OUR DEFEAT...". An older mink recalls "WELL THERE ONCE WAS A TIME WHEN I SAILED THE SEAS ALONG WITH THAT THING... AND I RECALL RUNNING INTO THIS YOUNG MAN, SHANKS, WHO WORE A SIMILAR KIND OF HAT... HE'S NOW BECOME ONE OF THE HOT SHOT 'YONKOS'...". Luffy excitedly asks "SHANKS ACTUALLY GAVE ME THIS H- WOAAAH!! YOU KNOW SHANKS!I HOW!I" while a woman states "...IT IS ALREADY 6PM." and another yells "HE FELL ASLEEP!!!" as the cloaked mink snores "Zzz...". Someone shouts "IT'S STILL 6PM!! WHAT IS HE, A KID!I".

The mink woman explains "BUT MASTER NEKOMAMUSHI GUARDS THE 'WHALE FOREST', A SACRED PLACE REVERED BY US FOR GENERATIONS, AND HOLDS AN AMOUNT OF POWER EQUAL TO THAT OF THE DUKE." Another mink adds "DUKE INUARASHI IS THE OFFICIAL RULER OF OUR LAND," while a third notes "I'VE GONE OVER THIS BEFORE. THE MOKOMO DUKE DOM IS CONSTANTLY UNDER THE WATCH OF OUR TWO DUKES...". She continues "THE TWO... HAVE AN EXTREMELY TESTY RELATIONSHIP." A goggled mink yells "...SO WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE FACT THAT HE JUST RANDOMLY HIT THE HAY JUST NOW!I". In a flashback panel, a woman says "WHO KNOWS... THOUGH APPARENTLY, THEY USED TO BE INSEPARABLE FRIENDS IN THE PAST..." as Luffy reacts "HUHI! WHYI!". The final panel shows the two dukes clashing violently with the narration "AS IT STANDS NOW, THEY WOULD LIKELY BE AT EACH OTHER'S THROATS IF THEY CAME ACROSS ONE ANOTHER. THEIR FIGHTS ALWAYS END IN STALEMATES!".

Narration explains the minks' divided schedule: "ALONG WITH THE SUN, FROM 6 IN THE MORNING TO 6 IN THE NIGHT"... The two dukes could no longer stand each other's faces, so they decided to split their working hours into two halves. "ALONG WITH THE MOON, FROM 6 IN THE NIGHT TO 6 IN THE MORNING." A large clock diagram shows the day-night reversal between the cat and dog factions. A female mink with long ears reacts with surprise. In the fort, Sicilian stands in the doorway as another mink rubs his eyes and says, "HMI YOU'RE..." "CRAP, ALL THIS TALK ABOUT SLEEP'S MAKING ME DROWSY... IT'S SICILIAN, THE ONE WHO ALWAYS PUTS HIS ALL INTO EVERYTHING!!" Nearby, several minks lie unconscious on the floor. "EVERYONE FROM THIS FORT HAS ALREADY FALLEN ASLEEP. WOAH!! THE DOCTORS PASSED OUT RIGHT ALONGSIDE HIM!!!" A close-up shows a mustached mink with a hat, eyes half-closed as SFX reads うとうと.... He continues, "WHILE THOSE FROM 'THE FOREST' KEEP TO NOCTURNAL HOURS...THIS APPLIES TO COMBAT SITUATIONS AS WELL. THIS REVERSAL OF DAY AND NIGHT AFFECTS US AS WELL... THE ONES FROM 'THE TOWN' ARE ACTIVE DURING THE DAY."

Explosions rock the town as minks plead, "DO NOT DESTROY OUR HOMES!!" and "PLEASE, WE BEG OF YOU TO STOP!!" with SFX ぶゴォン!! and めあああああ. A wide shot shows buildings burning and debris flying. In the next panel, a mink shouts in relief, "THANK GOODNESS!! LET'S LEAVE IT TO THEM AND FALL BACK!! THE MUSKETEERS HAVE ARRIVED!!!" The Musketeer Squad charges in, led by a large bull mink. He roars, "SEIZING THEIR WEAPONS IS OUR TOP PRIORITY!! KEEP THE LOSSES TO A MINIMUM!!" His squad responds, "YES SIR!!" The large title "THE MUSKETEER SQUAD" appears as they rush forward with weapons drawn amid smoke and impact lines.

The Inuarashi Musketeers leap into action. One commands, "PULL BACK, THAT'S AN ORDER!!" as another yells "AH... LORD SICILIAN!!" A mink warns, "COULD THEY BE FROM AN UNKNOWN RACEI! THEY HAVE SOME PECULIAR WARRIORS ON THEIR SIDE...!!" The three leaders are highlighted: "YES!!! IT'S 'THE THREE MUSKETEERS'!!!" and the large title "THE THREE INUARASHI MUSKETEERS" appears. One orders, "AGILE MUSKETEERS, LEAD THE TOWNSPEOPLE TO SAFETY IN THE FOREST!!!" Combat erupts with a massive wolf-like mink roaring "GRRRAH!!!" and using "WOLF GRIP"!!! SFX include ズバババン, もきゅああ, and ズルルル. Wanda is shown in close-up as a hand transforms into a wolf paw with SFX ズルルッ. An enemy is slammed with "VWOOM" and "ZZZZT!!" while bystanders react in terror.

Duke Inuarashi confronts the invaders from atop his giant bird companion. Townsfolk gasp in the background. He demands, "'JACK', I BELIEVE IT WASI!! WHO THE HELL ARE THEYI!!" Inuarashi points his sword and shouts, "I SWEAR ON THE GODS, THIS PERSON YOU SEEK IS NOT IN OUR LAND!!! DUKE INUARASHI!!! CEASE THIS VIOLENCE AND DESTRUCTION AT ONCE!!! THIS CONFRONTATION WILL BEAR NO FRUIT AND IS ABSOLUTELY FUTILE!!!" SFX ドン echoes as the bird's claws dig in. A close-up shows Jack's eye narrowing. In the final panels, a voice asks, "OF THIS COUNTRY...I!" and another states, "SO YOU ARE THE KING..."

The Duke stands with his blade lowered as shocked minks cry out, "WHY HAS THE DUKE LAID DOWN HIS BLADE!!!" and "WHATI!" A massive sword lies embedded in the ground amid swirling clouds. The Duke declares, "YOU MAY SEARCH FOR THIS SAMURAI AT YOUR LEISURE WITHOUT ANY INTERFERENCE FROM US!! SO CEASE THIS DEVASTATION AT ONCE!!" An enormous elephant-like figure looms over the ruined city as the voice continues, "ACROSS THIS ENTIRE COUNTRY, BETTER YET, THROUGHOUT THIS ENTIRE ISLAND!!" Minks plead, "DUKE, PLEASE RUN!!!" The Duke refuses, "HELL NO." A furious mink roars, "OUR COUNTRY IS FAR TOO RICH IN HISTORY!" The Duke is struck by a devastating blow, the impact "ドゴォォン!!" shaking the city as buildings crumble and minks scream "GYAAA AAAAA AAH!!!" and "DUKE!!!"

The massive elephant reels from the strike, its trunk and body twisting violently as debris flies. The Duke is hurled backward through the air. Onlookers react in horror: "THAT MUTT'S A BEAST!!!" "I THOUGHT THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A FLUFFY-CUDDLY ANIMAL KINGDOMI!" "HE BRUSHED OFF LORD JACK'S ATTACK LIKE IT WAS NOTHING!!!" "WHAT THE...!I THAT DEFINITELY AIN'T YOUR NORMAL DOG!!!" The elephant's eye glares intensely amid the chaos.

The towering elephant glares down with wide eyes as voices shout, "ONE BILLION B!!!" "YOU'VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!! OUR BOSS, LORD JACK, IS INFAMOUS AND HIS NAME RESONATES THROUGHOUT THE NEW WORLD... WITH A BOUNTY OF..." The Duke stands firm before it. A subordinate warns, "MY UNDERLINGS NEVER KNOW WHEN TO KEEP THEIR MOUTHS SHUT. DON'T GO THINKIN' YOU'RE HOT SHIT JUST BECAUSE YOU STOPPED ONE OF HIS ATTACKS!!!" The Duke replies, "THE SAMURAI NOT BEING HERE... NOW THAT IS YOUR 'SIN'." A mink pleads, "I BEG OF YOU!! DO NOT JUMP TO HASTY CONCLUSIONS!!" while another states, "I WILL CEASE THIS MAYHEM WHEN THE 'SAMURAI' STANDS BEFORE ME. I WILL SAY THIS ONCE... AND ONCE ONLY...!!!"

A mink declares, "A TRUE CALAMITY IS UPON US..." while another growls, "I LOVE TO DESTROY. LET ME ADD ONE MORE THING!!" Massive destruction erupts across the city with explosive impacts and debris. Minks flee in panic amid collapsing buildings and smoke. A voice cries, "IN THIS COUNTRYI!" as another shouts, "WHAT'S ALL WITH THE FLOODING..." The Duke and others are caught in the widespread devastation as the elephant rampages.

A massive roar shakes the city of Zou as the sun sets. "GRRME0000WW!!!" The enormous tree at the center of the island trembles. "THAT IS THE ROAR OF MASTER NEKOMAMUSHI!!!" someone shouts in terror. A clock tower reads exactly 6 PM. "TICK!!" In the streets, mink warriors react. "...No, working in shifts is our top priority... Doing so will allow us to maintain our stamina while the enemy depletes theirs..." one explains. "WE'RE NOT GOING TO FIGHT ALONGSIDE THEM...I!" another protests. A fierce mink warrior growls, "IT'S TIME FOR US TO FALL BACK, MUSKETEER SQUAD!! WHEEZE..." while another declares, "IT APPEARS 'THE MORON OF THE NIGHT' HAS FINALLY AWOKE...!!" Jack stands amid the chaos, wheezing heavily. "I leave you with this... Do not assume for one second that you are the only obstinate, stubborn jackass roaming these parts..." a cloaked figure tells him. "JACK!!" someone cries. Jack retorts, "THERE'S PLENTY OF IMBECILES ABOUND!!! BECAUSE NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO..." as a sharp "MEOW!!" cuts through the air.

Master Nekomamushi erupts in a thunderous roar that shakes the entire forest. "GRRR ME0000W!!!!" His massive tiger-like form towers over the battlefield, fangs bared. "THIS PLACE WILL BE YOUR FINAL RESTING SPOT!!!" a mink warrior yells as enemies are flung aside. "NOW IT'S A FRIGGIN' MONSTER CAT!!!" another shouts in shock. "HE'S HUGE!!!" The giant cat declares, "INTRUDERS WILL BE SHOWN NO MERCY!!!" and "WHEN THE MOON SHINES BRIGHT, THIS COUNTRY BELONGS TO ME!!!" The Guardians charge forward in force. A caption identifies the colossal figure: "GUARDIAN OF THE WHALE FOREST (DUKE OF THE NIGHT) 'MASTER NEKOMAMUSHI'" as the word "GUARDIANS" dominates the page.

Nekomamushi looms with jaws wide open. "FOR I AM NEKOMAMUSHI!!! THE MAN WHO AWAITS THE DAWN OF THIS WORLD!!!" he roars. Jack is hurled through the air, body twisting violently as debris flies. "HE'D ALREADY BE DIGESTING IN MY STOMACH!!!" Nekomamushi continues. Massive impact lettering explodes across the panel. Jack screams in agony, "GAHHH HHHHH HHH!!!" Below, a small figure watches in horror. "...LORD JACK!!" The narration states, "THE VALOR OF THE MINK TRIBE! THEIR COUNTERATTACK BEGINS!!!" In the aftermath, mink discuss the situation: "AND IF SOMETHING OF THE SORT HAPPENED ON MY WATCH..." "IF A 'SAMURAI' WERE STUPID ENOUGH TO SET FOOT ON THIS ISLAND..." "SO YOU'VE COME IN SEARCH OF A WARRIOR FROM THE WANO COUNTRYI" "I'VE BEEN TOLD ALL THE DETAILS!!" "PUFF..." "MASTER, OUR TOWN!!!" "LORD JA~CKII!!" "DON'T MIND THE LITTLE THINGS."
