In the bustling Flower Capital, urgent cries spread at once: "An accident! Emergency!!" "A forest fire in Kuri!" "And we've caught him! Finally!!" "We caught Midnight Boy!" Inside Orochi Castle, Orochi is still raging over Komurasaki. A retainer says, "Lord Orochi, I know you are currently grieving the loss of Komurasaki, but..." Orochi snaps that he does not care about some piddling burglar. The retainer insists that the captive's identity is not so piddling. Orochi cries that no one understands the pain of losing the love of his life and demands, "Bring back Komurasaki!" A cautious voice suggests that if someone so deeply insulted his grace had been left alive, his honor and dignity would have suffered drastically.

Orochi praises Kyoshiro, saying he acted well and thanking him for coming out of his room. The officials report that the captured man is being held in the prison house in Rasetsu Town, but that he is known as "the hero of the penniless, Midnight Boy." His real identity is then revealed to Orochi in private. The news hits Orochi like a shock. His face twists with fury as he asks, "How is that fool still alive?!"

Orochi immediately decides to make an example of the captured man. He orders the footage broadcast throughout the country using the Light-Gram. The officials already have the Light-Gram arranged, and Kyoshiro notes that with so many people gathered in one place for Komurasaki's funeral, they must prevent panic and chaos. Orochi sees cruel irony in it: the two biggest stars of the capital will wink out at the same time. He calls the execution a sacrifice and says to let them have Midnight Boy die alongside Komurasaki. Orochi prepares his horse because he wants to see it for himself.

At Udon prisoner mine, the news hits the arena before the morning is even old. One prisoner complains, "You're kidding! Stop, I don't want to hear bad jokes this early in the morning!" A Light-Gram Snail is set up, and the announcement spreads: "Hook up your Light-Gram Snail and take a look worororo..." A guard says he is serious, while Queen wails, "Waaagghhhh! Komurasakiiiiiiii!!" The prisoners shout for the screen: "Oi! Balloon!" "Show me the capital!!" Even Luffy understands the danger when he hears that the broadcast found out Komurasaki died.

Luffy and Hyogoro are still grotesquely swollen from the food they have been forced to eat. Queen asks how they got so fat overnight and how much longer the fighting will last. His men worry whether they should report that all his oshiruko vanished overnight, but another warns that Queen might do something idiotic and explode from two pieces of bad news at once. Queen questions how an idiot like Luffy survived so long, while Luffy, cheeks stuffed, identifies the display as "A video Den Den Mushi?"

Elsewhere in Kuri, on Head Mountain, the fire at Shutenmaru's hideout spreads too rapidly to stop. People shout, "We can't put it out! Run!" Shutenmaru immediately recognizes one of Holdem's thugs from Bakura Town and realizes the fire was started deliberately. He growls that if Bakura Town is flattened, Kaido's army will come down on them harder than ever, and he promises to pound the culprit into paste. Kin'emon and Inuarashi hurry toward a village ruin as word arrives: Ashura is heading to Bakura.

Kin'emon is alarmed that their plans have derailed with no obvious way back on track. He says it twice because the situation is collapsing. Shutenmaru rides toward Bakura, furious that arson and chaos have grown worse than expected, and hopes it might push him to become an enemy of the Hundred Beast Pirates. In Bakura Town, a broadcast is prepared. Someone says to turn on the Light-Gram Snail, and a Beast Pirates officer sneers that he always wished he could show the whole country Shutenmaru dying in a fire, but instead the Tenma Bandits are here. He mocks them: they only had to get cocky and steal food and weapons.

In Ringo's Northern Graveyard, Brook arrives at the hut and is shocked to find someone living there. Zoro wakes and asks why Brook is there. Brook apologizes if he interrupted anything, just as he sees Zoro in bed with Hiyori and O-Toko nearby. He screams, "Whaaa?! Zoro?!" Zoro, still recovering, looks just as startled by Brook's sudden appearance. The quiet hiding place becomes awkward and loud in an instant.

Brook's ghostly appearance terrifies the others at first. He asks Hiyori, "Excuse me, but do you think you could show me your pant-" before stopping in admiration and saying, "Wow! So pretty." Hiyori hides, confused, while Zoro explains that Kin'emon told him to keep saying, "I'm hungry, so I'm going to curse you," and he did. Brook connects that to the offerings at the well. Hiyori realizes the skeleton is Momonosuke's friend, yet she cannot believe it because Brook looks too much like a skeleton. Brook and Hiyori then tease Zoro about sleeping beside her; Brook says, "Zoro, I'm so jealous!" and Zoro insists he was just sleeping because it was cold.

Brook explains why he could not find Hiyori the previous day after going to the baths: the capital has fallen into chaos. The streets are packed for Komurasaki's funeral, and now Midnight Boy has been caught. Brook says the robber who gave what he stole to the poor has been identified after hiding so long, and his real identity is someone called Tonoyasu, or Something-Yasu. O-Toko freezes, then shouts, "Wha-?! That's my dad!" Zoro confirms, "Huh?! Tono-Yasu?!" and Brook says that is the name.

The news is worse than recognition. Brook says, "This is very bad!" because the man is going to be executed in the capital today. O-Toko hears that people are after her father's life too and immediately runs for him, crying, "Daddy! Daddy!" Hiyori calls after her, "Wait! Toko! No!" but O-Toko keeps going. Hiyori decides to chase her and thanks Zoro for everything the previous day. Zoro stands despite his wound, saying, "Hold up, dummy. I'm coming too! You obviously can't protect her by yourself." He had only just returned from the capital, but there is no time to rest.

In the Flower Capital, Komurasaki's funeral procession advances through crowds crying her name: "Komurasaki!" "Courtesan!" "Treasure of Wano!" The procession is grand, full of attendants, banners, and flowered palanquin imagery, but not everyone welcomes it. One watcher says, "I don't want to see this kind of courtesan's procession!" The people are grieving the woman they believe is dead, while elsewhere the city is simultaneously being drawn toward a public execution.

People ask why the procession is heading for Rasetsu Town. The answer cuts through the crowd: Komurasaki defied Lord Orochi, so she is to be cremated at the prison house as a criminal. In Ebisu Town, the public broadcast shows the front doors of the prison house, and the people recognize the man strung up there. They shout, "Tonoyasu has been strung up!" and "Yasu!" Confusion breaks out: if Tonoyasu was the thief, who was he really? Someone remembers his hair and says the fact that he is the thief matters very little. The deeper truth is about to surface.

The people finally recognize him. Tonoyasu was Lord Yasuie, a daimyo of Wano who once served the Kozuki clan alongside Lord Oden, the daimyo of Hakumai known as Yasu the Hedgehog. The revelation shocks the crowd because he had changed so much that some barely recognized him. At the Rasetsu Town prison house, people cry for the officers to stop and take him down. Yasuie hangs bound above the crowd, still alive, while the people below beg: "Lord Yasuie! I can't believe you're still alive!" and "Take down Lord Yasuie!"

Yasuie laughs from the execution platform, saying there is no use and that Orochi will never let him live. He sees that he has not been forgotten and declares there are two things he wants to apologize to everyone for. Then he adds that there is one thing he must say to that idiot Orochi. Even as the crowd cries "Lord Yasuie!" and O-Toko runs toward him shouting "Daddy!", he smiles broadly and says that after he has spoken his piece, he will go into the night smiling all the way.
