In a bustling Wano street market, a long line of people stretches toward food stalls. A voice exclaims, "NO WAY..." while two women admire the noodles: "SANGORO'S NIHAICHI SOBA NOODLES... REALLY ARE SPECIALITY SOBA NOODLES!! THE FIRM BITE!! LOOK AT THE LUSTRE OF THESE NOODLES! DELICIOUS~♥" A man with a topknot and striped kimono laughs heartily, "ALL RIGHT... The environment is grim, with chains, smoke, and forced labor everywhere.

A guard threatens a prisoner, "TALKING BACK TO A GUARD COMES WITH THE PUNISHMENT OF AMPUTATION, YOU KNOW THAT, DON'T YOU!I YOU'RE FINALLY ABOUT TO KICK THE BUCKET!! GAAAH!!" Another guard mocks an old man, "ARE YOU HAVING TROUBLE EARNING ENOUGH FOOD... YOU GET ONE PIECE OF KIBI-DANGO FOR MOVING FIVE BIG ROCK BLOCKS. AS YOU'RE GETTING OLDER, GRANDPA HYOU...!I" The old prisoner, Grandpa Hyou, receives four dango coupons and reacts with shock, "HM!I" A voice warns, "OTHERWISE, YOU'LL DIE!! DON'T GO AGAINST THEM AND JUST PRESERVE YOUR STRENGTH!!" In the mines, a massive figure roars, "YOU'RE IN MY WAY!! I'LL KILL YOU ALL IF YOU DON'T MOVE!!! MOVE, MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!!" while charging forward and causing explosions and panic among the workers. The scene is filled with dust, impact lines, and desperate movement.

Two prisoners roar in fury, faces pressed close as one bellows, "NUUUUAAAA AAAGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Below, a frantic prisoner with a topknot shouts, "...!!! I'M... I'M SORRY... YOU SNAILS!!" while another orders, "THEN HURRY UP AND BRING ANOTHER SHIP!!" A voice warns, "WAIT, WAIT, THIS SHIP CAN'T HOLD ANY MORE ROCKS!!" Deputy Warden Dobon, a massive hippo Smile user labeled DEPUTY WARDEN <HEADLINER> DOBON HIPPO SMILE USER, looms over the scene, roaring, "CLEARED OUT ALL OF THE RATIONS WE HAD IN THE STORAGE...!!I WHICH ONE OF YOU PRISONERS..." A tiny prisoner inside his mouth cries, "HIPPO...!!!" as Dobon crushes someone with "BUGH!" Prisoners panic: "MASTER DOBON IS HERE...!! HIS FUSION WITH THE HIPPO IS SO WEIRD!!" and "GRANDPA HYOU!!" One shouts, "HE'S TRYING TO SAY SOMETHING FROM INSIDE THERE!!" Dobon continues, "BUT, MASTER DOBON... THEY EARNED THEIR FOOD!! THEY WORKED HARD AND EXCHANGED THEIR WORK FOR FOOD, SO WE COULDN'T STOP THEM FROM GETTING IT!!" The hippo snaps its jaws as Dobon declares, "HOW DARE YOU IGNORE MY OR— THE HIPPO DECIDED TO CLOSE ITS MOUTH ON A WHIM, SO NOW WE CAN'T HEAR MASTER DOBON ANYMORE!!" A guard yells, "AH!!! HE'S CRUSHING GRANDPA HYOU!! CRAWL OUT FROM UNDER THERE, GRAMPS!!"

Dobon lets out a massive "BURP..." and complains, "GIMME A SECOND I NEED TO DIGEST THIS FOOD... I'VE NEVER SEEN SOMEONE HAVE A BLOATED STOMACH IN HERE!! I'M SO JEALOUS... THEY ATE WAY TOO MUCH!!" A spiky-haired prisoner reports, "I'VE BROUGHT THE PRISONERS THAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR!!" Dobon turns on two figures, bellowing, "HOW DARE YOU!! YOUR GLUTTONY IS WHY I, A MAN KNOWN AS A BIG-EATER, WAS ONLY ABLE TO GET THREE KIBI-DANGOS!! LOOK AT THIS MOUTH!! DOES THAT SEEM LIKE ENOUGH FOOD TO YOU!I" The prisoners shrink in size as one gasps, "HUH...I YOU GUYS... ARE YOU SHRINKING IN SIZE!I" Dobon threatens, "SO IT WAS YOU TWO!!! THE THIRD TIME YOU DO IT WILL BE YOUR LAST!! YOU'LL BE EXECUTED ON THE SPOT. KEEP THAT IN MIND. AND YOUR LEGS WILL BE CUT OFF IF YOU DO IT AGAIN!! YOUR ARMS WILL BE CUT OFF THE FIRST TIME YOU DO IT... HERE'S A WORD OF WARNING FOR YOU TWO!! IF YOU TRY AND FIGHT BACK AGAINST A GUARD..."

Prisoners protest their treatment in the mine. "ALL WE DID WAS TAKE OUR WORK SERIOUSLY!!" one shouts. Another adds, "HEY, WE'RE JUST WEAKLINGS WHOSE STRENGTH HAS BEEN DEPLETED BECAUSE OF THIS SEASTONE." The hippo-like guard roars back, "YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO FIGHT BACK!! THAT'S HOW IT WORKS HERE!!" A flashback panel shows the same guard inside a chamber, with narration noting, "WHAT A SHAME... INSIDE THAT MOUTH IS MASTER DOBON'S MURDER CHAMBER..." The massive hippo creature lunges forward, mouth wide, as it devours several prisoners. "YOUR CRIME IS EATING ALL OF MY FOOD!! YOU NEED TO BE DISCIPLI–" the guard begins before being cut off. Onlookers scream in terror, "WAAAAH!! THEY GOT EATEN!!" The hippo crashes down with a massive "THUD!!" as the prisoners are swallowed whole. "HIPPO!!!" echoes across the scene amid impact lines and debris.

The hippo guard is hurled through the air with a loud crash. "DEPUTY WARDEN DOBOOOOOON!!I" someone yells. Luffy and Eustass Kid stand amid the wreckage as the guard lands hard. A small panel shows the guard's shocked face. Kid demands, "WHERE'S YOUR PROOFI" while glaring. Luffy looks on with wide eyes. Prisoners react in panic, shouting, "YOU'VE DONE IT NOW!! YOU'RE GONNA BE EXECUTED!!!" One prisoner cries, "THE WORST WON'T TOLERATE THIS!!!" Another cheers loudly, "YOU TWO ARE THE PRISONERS' STARS OF HOPE!! WAY TO GOOOOOO!!!"
