Salvage King Masira

The crew reacts in shock to a distant sight. A large circular bubble declares “SKY ISLAND.” Luffy yells from the foreground, “ARE YOU KIDDIN' ME!I” while another bubble states, “SO THERE'S AN ISLAND FLOATING IN THE SKY!I” The Going Merry and a wrecked ship are visible on rough seas near rocky formations. Below, on the deck, Usopp points while saying, “That there's a 'sea' floating up in the sky.” Sanji replies, “You're a little mistaken... It'd be more accurate to say, 'So the ship and the skeletons fell down from an island all the way up thereI'” Nami shouts in alarm, “A SEA!I” as Luffy exclaims, “AAAAWESOME!” and another voice adds, “That makes even less sense...”

Luffy stands at the center, shouting excitedly with arms raised: “UP, UP, UP INTO THE SKY!” and “ALRIGHT, MATEYS! TURN THE RUDDER UPWARDS! SO THERE'S AN ISLAND ON A FLOATING SEA UP IN THE SKY, RIGHT!I SET FULL SAIL AHEAD!” Usopp is beside him, also yelling with a determined expression. On the lower deck, Nami questions the situation while Sanji, Robin, and Zoro react with surprise; Sanji notes, “Yeah... The rudder doesn't turn that way, cap'n.” Robin states, “EXACTLY! This is absurd! An island or sea or whatever floating in the sky!I” Nami adds, “But how to get up into the sky.” Robin replies, “What you should be worrying now is not how to fix the log pose.”

On the deck, Sanji and Usopp look toward the wrecked ships while Zoro stands nearby with a serious expression. Sanji says, “What's those two up to nowI” Usopp answers, “Investigating, they say...” Inside, Robin declares, “One must never doubt the log pose. That is an ironclad rule.” Nami adds, “When sailing these seas, doubt the common sense in your minds, but never the log pose.” Robin continues, “No matter how bizarre the situations this ship finds itself in...” and “No matter how great the panic that befalls this ship...” The page ends on a close-up of Nami’s determined face as she states, “THERE WILL ALWAYS BE AN ISLAND. BECAUSE WHEREVER THAT NEEDLE POINTS,”

Inside the ship, Usopp watches nervously as a woman pries open an old coffin. "What's she doing, opening that coffin...I" he mutters. A small object drops with a "PLINK..." sound. Below deck, the group examines the skeleton. "A skeleton and a beautiful woman go oddly well together!" someone remarks. Robin notes, "You've got one macabre taste, sister." Sanji adds, "We'll see... Can you figure something out from thatI" Robin studies the skull closely. "No, these holes are from surgery... 'Trepanation.'" The doctor confirms, "Right, DoctorI" She continues, "Ohh... So he kicked the bucket after getting his skull pierced... The holes here are artificial. Man-made, clearly." Usopp reacts in shock, "Whoa, you put it back together!"

Robin examines the skull further. "When he fell sick during a voyage and succumbed to death. Seeing how the skull's teeth are still well attached to the skull, he was in his early 30s." She deduces, "...Yes, over 200 years has passed since this man's death." Usopp notes the old medical practice. Robin reads from a logbook, "...Ah, here it is. 208 years ago, St. Briss set sail from the Briss Kingdom of South Blue." The crew discusses the ship's fate. "Which means this ship must have been sent all the way out to the Grand Line on some exploration." Robin concludes the vessel drifted for centuries. Nami stares in awe at the emerging shipwreck. "Ahh! It's the same ship as the one that just fell!"

On the deck, chaos erupts as the salvaged ship sinks. Nami yells, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO DOING!I" while Luffy and Usopp flail in the water amid bubbles and debris. Robin observes calmly, "If it's an exploration vessel, then it should have many logs, documents, and samples onboard..." Suddenly Luffy bursts up with excitement, "I found something super-duper amazing! I did it!" Usopp shouts from the background, "Guys! Guys!" The crew gathers as Luffy proudly presents his find. "CHECK THIS OUT!" he exclaims, holding up a large rolled item.

Luffy unrolls the parchment with a dramatic flourish. "A MAP OF A... SKYPIEA" it reads in bold letters, revealing an island floating among clouds labeled "SKY ISLAND!I" The crew stares in disbelief. Luffy and Nami lean in close, eyes wide. "Does this mean there's really an island in the sky...!I" Luffy shouts. Nami echoes, "Skypiea..." The map shows detailed islands, ruins, and a massive structure amid the clouds.

The Going Merry sails across the sea as the crew spots a distant silhouette rising into the clouds. Usopp cheers wildly, "WOHOO! USOPP!" while Chopper shouts "CHOPPER!" Excited voices erupt: "THERE'S REALLY A SKY ISLAND!" "AN ISLAND OF DREAMS! WE CAN GO TO THE ISLAND OF DREAMS!" "AN ISLAND OF DREAMS!I" A massive Japanese SFX "いやほーう!!!" fills the sky. Below deck, Usopp, Chopper, and Luffy stare in shock with sweat drops as Nami sits holding a torn log pose map. She says calmly, "...You're all making such a fuss over what's barely a sliver of possibility. There's plenty of fake maps in this world, you know!" Usopp stammers, "Ah... S-sorry-" while Luffy adds nervously, "It exists, it exists!...like absolutely....yeah. But, umm, the thing..." Nami grows angry, declaring, "There are some things in this world that you just can't DO SOMETHING ABOUT! IT DOESN'T MATTER! WE'RE GOING TO THE SKY AND THAT'S IT!" Usopp and Chopper panic, "WELL YOU'RE THE NAVIGATOR! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!" Nami snaps back, "I HAVE NO FREAKIN' CLUE HOW TO GET THERE!" A small heart bubble notes "Angry Nami's so cute..."

Inside the ship, Usopp stands with arms crossed, saying, "We've gotta get any remaining logs or journals on that ship somehow!" Nami replies, "If that huge ship really went to the sky, then it must be possible for our ship to go too!" Robin notes, "Like Robin said just now, what we need is information!" Usopp adds, "But it's already sunk below the surface." A crewmate observes the tilting log pose, "Ugh, this is getting nowhere! In any case, with the log pose-needle pointing upwards like this, We can't exactly continue sailing." Nami rests her chin on her hand, "It means lifting sunken ships back up to the surface....But that ship's too big for that to be possible." Usopp asks, "What does 'salvage' meanI" The crew erupts in unison, "LIKE HELL WE CAN!" "RIGHT ON!" "IF IT SANK, THEN WE'VE GOTTA SALVAGE IT!" Luffy pops out of a barrel with a grin, "I gotta say..." and chuckles, "Heh heh..."

On deck, Nami stands with hands on hips while Usopp and Robin watch. Three barrel-shaped diving suits stand ready with hoses. Usopp says, "Dive down with no worries, lads! My design is flawless!" Nami replies, "Thanku. I'll leave it to you!" Luffy, inside one suit, promises, "I promise I'll find some clues on how to go to the sky, Nami!" Nami warns, "This is some crazy stuff you're pressing me into..." The suited figures are lowered into the water with SFX "どーん" and "ん". A massive fish suddenly lunges from the sea, mouth open wide with SFX "MUNCH!" and "ザババッ", devouring one barrel whole as the others sink. From the ship, voices call, "All of you!" "Good luck," as the remaining divers descend with splashes and mechanical SFX "ドーン" "ガラガラ".

Deep underwater, the divers are surrounded by giant sea snakes coiling through the darkness. One diver yells, "OH CRAP..." with impact SFX "ゴキッ" "ゴキッ". On the surface, Usopp operates the winch shouting into a speaker, "They're A-OK!I" Nami asks, "This is Sanji. AGAHHH! IT LOOKED THIS WAY!" Usopp continues, "What is this, a giant sea snake lair!I" "This is Luffy. There's a lot of monsters down here, over." "This is Chopper. Respond if you can hear me, over." The crew on deck reacts with alarm. Nami looks concerned as music notes play "Saaaalvaaage! Saaaalvaaage!" Usopp yells, "Thank god I didn't go down with them." Nami says, "Okay." and "Chopper, hang on tight to the brake. They can handle themselves so don't worry about them!" The winch turns with SFX "ガラガラ" as the crew watches anxiously.

A raucous musical performance fills the sky with clanging cymbals and tweeting flutes as voices chant "Saaaaa!vaaaage! Saaaaa!vaaaage!" repeatedly. Below, a line of musicians pounds on large cymbals while shouting "CLANG CLANG CLANG" and "FWEEP FWEEP FWEEP TWEET TWEET TWEET." Luffy stares in shock, sweat flying, and blurts, "What in the world..." The music crescendos with a massive "STOP!!!" and "AND... FWEEET!" as a small ship sails through the clouds amid continuing "CLANG CLANG CLANG" and "FWEEP FWEEP TWEET!!" sounds.

A massive salvage ship shaped like a monkey's face looms over the water. The crew shouts "AYE, AYE, SIR!" and "AYE, AYE, BOSS!" while a small monkey-like figure at the helm asks, "IS THIS WHERE THE SHIP SANK!I" From behind, a spiky-haired man in a coat turns and declares, "THAT'D BE ME, OF COURSE!" as another voice yells "BOSS!I"

Masira looms in a dramatic close-up, goggles on his forehead, mouth wide open as he roars, "EVERY SUNKEN SHIP IS MINE! UKIKIKI!!" A text box identifies him: "Boss of Masira Pirates 'Salvage King Masira' Bounty: 23,000,000 Beli." He orders, "PREPARE TO LIFT THE SHIP!" His excited crew cheers wildly below with cries of "UKIKIKI!"

Masira confronts the Straw Hats from his ship, shouting, "Hey! What're you doing over thereI This is my territory!" Nami replies, "TerritoryI" and mutters, "Great, a bunch of weirdos popped up again... Just when we're busy, too..." Masira confirms, "That's right... Any ship that sinks in this territory is mine. You aren't getting your grubby lil' paws on it, are ya nowI" He demands, "Well!I" while his crew yells, "ANSWER MY DAMN QUESTION ALREADY, UKEEE!" "STOP MUTTERIN' TO YOURSELVES!" "What do we doI Is this our chanceI" "O-oh right, they were chanting about it just now." "It seems he's here to salvage the ship..."

On the open sea, two ships face each other. From the left vessel, a small figure resembling Luffy watches as the massive, monkey-like pirate Masira on the right ship with "MASIRA" markings on his headphones and ship demands, "YOU'RE asking ME a question nowI" A voice from the left ship asks, "Will you be conducting a salvage operation nowI" Masira replies, "Alright. Shoot." Masira blushes with a heart symbol, exclaiming "GEE, YOU'RE MAKING ME BLUSH!" while crew members on the dock react with "Uhh, sure..." and "That's not even a word..." Masira grins widely, "Yeah, people tell me that a lot. Y'might even say, I'm a salvaging chimp-ton!" and questions, "You really think I look like a monkeyI" He then declares proudly, "There ain't a ship in this world that me and my crew can't salvage! And if there's a floating ship, I'll sink it too and raise it back up! If there's a sunken ship, then I'm the man to raise it back up! 'Course! That's my callin' in life!" A small figure on the dock asks, "So... Are you going to be salvaging the ship or notI" Sound effects like "ドキドキ" and "ワッキー!!" punctuate the scene.

Masira agrees enthusiastically, "Sure, sure! Watch all you want!" and orders, "ALRIGHT! LET'S JUST WATCH FOR NOW..." A crew member wonders, "Oh, I see! You folks ain't never seen a salvaging before, ehI" Masira questions, "HmI If so... May we observe your workI" Below deck, panic erupts as someone shouts, "Then that must mean...!" Another yells, "WHAT!I So there's someone down there...!I" Reactions fly: "No, they look like they were hit by humans...!" "Did the sea monsters get 'em!I" "The men we sent down to attach the 'cradles' were-" "What is it!I" "BOSS! WE'VE GOT TROUBLE!" Masira's face twists in shock. Underwater, a diver is shown tangled as voices cry, "THERE'S SOMEONE DOWN THERE! N-NO, WE..." "ACK!" Nami and others react with "HEY, YOU!" and "THANK GOD HE'S AN IDIOT..." while a small character says "Sure!" and another mumbles "Ummm..."

Masira roars with mouth wide open, "AYE, AYE, SIR!" and commands, "GET THE 'CRADLES' ATTACHED SO WE CAN GET SALVAGING!" Three small panels show close-ups: Sanji with a cigarette smirking, Zoro glaring intensely with sweat drop, and Luffy inside a diving helmet with a fish, grinning excitedly. The scene shifts underwater to a sunken shipwreck on the seabed. Chains and hooks labeled with sound effects "ゴゴゴ..." and "ゴチャゴチャ..." descend and attach to the broken wooden structure amid debris, bubbles, and scattered wreckage, preparing to lift it.
