In the wide battlefield view, a winged figure (Marco) exclaims, "WHAT'S WITH HIS CONFIDENCE!!I" and "HOW THE HECK IS HE TALKING SO CASUALLY WITH WHITEBEARD!!I" while Luffy yells, "HAAAAH-HHHHHH!! I'M COMING FOR YOU, ACE!" Marco notes, "I SEE... THIS IS INDEED VALUABLE INFORMATION. I MUST THANK YOU!" Luffy replies, "NAH, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!!" A crew member reports, "WE INTERCEPTED A MESSAGE TO THE MARINE TROOPS INDICATING THAT ACE'S EXECUTION TIME IS TO BE MOVED FORWARD!!" Whitebeard responds, "OLD MAN!! YES, SO I HEAR..." An ally warns, "ACCIDENTALLY ALLOWING A KEY STRATEGY TO BE OVERHEARD BY THE ENEMY... IS NOT A MISTAKE THAT THIS MAN WOULD EVER MAKE!!" Luffy is suddenly struck, crying out as Admiral Kizaru appears. A giant circular shockwave erupts across the battlefield with debris and massive destruction, while distant figures cry out in terror.

Luffy and his allies spot a massive figure amid the chaos. "AHH!! THAT'S THE GUY WHO LOOKS LIKE A BEAR... THE ONE WHO SENT ALL OF US FLYING!!" someone yells. The towering form of Kuma appears, his face stern. "KUMA!!!" The Pacifista unleashes a devastating spinning attack. "ROLLING AESTHETIC"!! Kuma spins violently, smashing through debris and sending shockwaves across the battlefield. "HEE-HAHH!!!" "AAAH-AHHH!" cries echo as the ground erupts. In the aftermath, a bear-like ally confronts the scene. "BUT STILL, TO FIRE A LASER LIKE THAT AT AN OLD FRIEND LIKE ME...!!!!" he growls. Another voice adds, "HOW HORRIBLE!! CERTAINLY, HE HAS HIS DUTY TO UPHOLD AS A MEMBER OF THE SHICHIBUKAI..." A distant figure calls out, "BARTHOL-OMEW KUMA....!!!" Heavy breathing fills the air: "HAA... HAA..."

Explosions rock the battlefield as a figure in a flowing coat attacks. ""AWASE BAORI"!!!" the attacker shouts. "YOU'RE NOT GETTING AWAY!!" Luffy recognizes the woman instantly. "YOU!! I REMEMBER YOU FROM ARABASTA!" he yells. She replies, "I'VE SEEN ENOUGH OF CAGES TODAY!!! ALL UNLUCKY ENOUGH TO PASS THROUGH MY BODY WILL BE LOCKED!!" The woman, Hina, moves with blinding speed. "SO FAST!! I COULDN'T SEE HIM MOVE!!" an ally gasps. "AAAH!! HEY-HINA!!" Hina is struck hard. "HINA OUTMATCHED!!" she realizes as the cage-like technique fails and debris flies everywhere.

Gecko Moria commands his zombie horde. "COME, MY ZOMBIE MINIONS!!!" he roars as a dragon-like zombie lunges. "AAAH!!" Luffy charges forward, grinning fiercely. "STRAWHAT....!!! I SEE YOUR STRENGTH IS AS IMPRESSIVE AS EVER!" Moria taunts. "THESE GUYS ARE ALL PRETTY DAMN TOUGH!!!" Luffy takes heavy hits. "GUAHH!!!" "LUFFY....!!!" allies cry. Moria laughs, "YES... I THINK I WILL TAKE MY SHADOW ONCE MORE, AND IMPLANT IT INTO OARS!!!" He declares, "THIS IS A BATTLEFIELD!! THE MORE SOLDIERS WHO DIE, THE MORE ZOMBIES I CAN CREATE!!! KISHISHISHISHI!!!" Zombies swarm as Moria orders, "NOW, MY ZOMBIES, GO AND CAPTURE STRAWHAT FOR ME!!!" Luffy shouts back, "MORIA....!! NOT THAT ANNOYING GUY AGAIN....!!!"

Luffy's face fills the frame, bloodied and furious. "STAY BACK!!! LUFFY!!!" he roars. A Marine officer blocks his path. "MOVE IT!!" the officer commands. Luffy is struck. "UNGH!!" "EHI" he reacts in surprise. The Marine continues, "WE'VE BOTH SAILED THE OCEAN AS OUR HEARTS GUIDED US!!! I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO TELL YOU THIS!!! YOU'RE A PIRATE, JUST LIKE ME!!" Luffy stands with his back turned, the tattoo on his shoulder visible, staring at the ruined battlefield and distant ships. "....!!!" he mutters, the weight of the words sinking in.

Luffy glares furiously at Ace, shouting, "I DON'T REMEMBER ASKING YOU TO INTERFERE!!!" Ace roars back with equal fury, "I HAVE MY OWN NAKAMA!!! I HAVE MY OWN ADVENTURE TO LIVE!!!" A nearby fighter yells "SAVE ACE-!!!" while another voice murmurs "ACE..." In the wide battlefield panel, Ace demands, "DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE I'M GOING TO FORGIVE YOU FOR THAT!I THIS IS HUMILIATING!!!" and sneers, "A WEAKLING LIKE YOU... COMING TO SAVE ME!!I" Luffy pleads desperately, "PLEASE, LUFFY... DON'T LET ME DRAG YOU INTO THIS TOO...!!!" as Ace continues, "ACE-SAN... WHY DID YOU COME!!I GET OUT OF HERE, LUFFY!!! THIS IS MY PROBLEM, NOT YOURS...!!!" Luffy's face twists in pain and determination amid the chaos of Marineford.

Luffy's present-day face returns, bloodied and shouting the bond into existence.

Shock spreads among the onlookers. Someone exclaims, "BOTH OF ACE'S PARENTS DIED WHEN HE WAS BORN!! HE COULDN'T POSSIBLY HAVE A YOUNGER BROTHER!!!" Another wonders, "THEN... HE'S ROGER'S SON AS WELL...!I DID HE JUST SAY, 'BROTHER'!I" Luffy continues his rampage with a massive "HAAAA-AHHHHH-HHHH!!!" Moria commands his zombies, "ATTACK, MY ZOMBIES!!!" while they groan "MMM-MMBLGH-HHHHHHH!!!" and "GRAA-AHHHH-HHH!!!" Luffy spots someone and yells "JIMBEI!!!" as the warlord appears. A zombie questions, "THOSE ZOMBIES OF YOURS... I SEEM TO RECALL SALT WAS THEIR WEAKNESS, RIGHTI" while another cries "SEA-WATER!!!"

Panic erupts across Marineford. Voices shout "LUFFY-SAN...!!! HE WENT AND SAID IT...!!!" "WHAAAAA!!!I" "THE SON OF THE DRAGON!!!I" and "....!!!I" Crocodile snarls, "NOT ONLY WAS HE RAISED HE TOGETHER WITH ACE AS AN ADOPTIVE BROTHER, HE IS ALSO... THAT MAN IS ANOTHER FUTURE DANGEROUS ELEMENT!!" Someone yells, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING ALLOWING A SINGLE ROOKIE TO SHIFT THE FLOW OF BATTLE!!!I" while another vows, "MOVE IT... I'LL CRUSH HIM MYSELF!!!" The narration reveals, "OF THE REVOLUTIONARY DRAGON!!!" and "THE FLESH-AND-BLOOD SON" Luffy activates his attack with "GEAR THIRD!!" as the battlefield erupts in chaos.
