Ivankov says that even the word miracle does not begin to describe what happened. The page is a celebration, but it also marks how impossible Luffy's recovery should have been.

The alarm shifts from Luffy's recovery to Ace's departure. A New Kama resident reports, "Inazuma!!! Find out the plans for Ace Boy's departure!!!" Luffy says he will go with Strawhat boy to Level 6 right away because the Vivre Card is still pointing down and Ace has not yet been moved. Ivankov orders everyone in New Kama Land to listen. He declares, "We will go to save Ace Boy and then make our escape from Impel Down!!!" If anyone wishes to come with him, they must make their peace and prepare for battle. The residents are stunned by the sudden decision, but Luffy focuses only on Ace and shouts, "All right, just wait, Ace!!! I'm coming now!!!" Iva checks Luffy's pulse and finds it strong despite everything. At the front entrance of Impel Down, the Marines prepare to take custody of Portgas D. Ace. The order is clear: "We'll take Portgas D. Ace into custody here. Then we'll transport him to Marine HQ at Marineford!! Until we transfer him there, we must not let our guards down for a single instant!!!" Outside, five battleships commanded by five Marine vice-admirals wait, and the officers say this imperative convoy must be carried out with everyone prepared to give their lives. Meanwhile, on Level 5, Luffy, Ivankov and Inazuma sprint forward. The wolves of Level 5 growl "Garururu..." as the escape party charges through the freezing forest. Guards and prisoners cannot believe someone is running there, insisting that Ivankov should be dead and that it cannot be real. Luffy snarls for everyone to move because they are in his way, then smashes through the wolves and obstacles with a furious "Gyobu!!!" The monitor room identifies the impossible intruders. A guard yells that the Okama King who disappeared years ago, Ivankov, is here and asks how he survived all these years. Another says the intruder from yesterday, Strawhat Luffy, is with him, even though he should have died from the warden's poison. They also identify the missing Level 5 prisoner Inazuma, the revolutionary from South Blue. The officers realize the group is making a beeline for Level 6 and must be after Fire Fist Ace. Orders fly: Domino and Warden Magellan are heading for Level 6, traps in the passage must be activated immediately, Level 6 guards are to be put on high alert, and Warden Magellan and all floors must be informed at once.

Luffy races toward Ace, panting "Haa... Haa..." while yelling, "Make it in time, please make it in time!!!" and then, "I'm coming, Ace!!!" On Level 6, Ace is brought out in chains. A guard says, "Now then, Portgas D. Ace, you will be now transported," and the destination is announced: "To the execution site, Marineford!!!" The page cuts between Luffy's desperate sprint and Ace's silent, battered face, making the distance between them feel brutally small but still decisive. The chapter ends with the rescue and transfer happening at the same moment, seconds turning into the enemy.
