Robin doubts the claim that this young woman is Vegapunk: "Just a moment, this is the first I've heard of Vegapunk being a woman. And she looks far too young. Vegapunk has been active for many years." The woman answers, "Naturally! Who said this was the main 'Stella' body?! You're looking at Punk-02! Vegapunk Lilith!" She threatens the crew: "In any case, we always run through our research funds in a jiffy, so we'll allow you to skedaddle if you just relinquish your valuables!" Nami snaps back, "What?! These waters are chilly enough without you being cold too!! You just fished us out, what kind of rescue do you call this?!" Lilith yells, "Are you deaf?! This is not a rescue!!" and warns that trespassers in these waters cannot escape and will sink if they resist.

Weaponized sea beasts surface around the Thousand Sunny. Lilith boasts, "Take a gander at the weaponized sea-beasts!!" Usopp panics, "Weaponized sea-beasts?!" while Franky shouts, "That's rad!!" and says his fear is overwhelming his awe. A voice over Lilith's Den Den Mushi calls, "Lilith!! What are you doing?! Why do you always insist on looting?! Have some pride as a scientist!!" Lilith answers, "Shaka?! Put a sock in it! Can your infernal pride keep the lights on?" Shaka says the Straw Hats, a newly dubbed Emperor crew, will not meekly surrender and should have treasure stashed away. Lilith says she has them surrounded, but Shaka warns, "Don't underestimate them... Look at the swordsman."

Shaka identifies the threats aboard the Sunny: "That's Pirate Hunter Zoro, his bounty is 1.111 billion. See how calm he is? He knows you're in range for him to end you in an instant... The same goes for Devil Child Nico Robin back there." Lilith realizes, "But...!! What can they do against all the sea-beasts?" Shaka scolds her: "The strong can appraise their prey and prioritize the most essential targets first. You should have been more cautious!" Zoro calmly addresses her: "Hey Vegapunk... There's something I want from you, so you'd better play nice... Got it?" Lilith admits, "Confound it! I was careless..."

Dr. Vegapunk Shaka, Punk-01 Logic, orders, "No matter, bring them here!! I have an interest in that crew...!!" A translator note says that as of this chapter the old man voice is only really evident with Lilith. On Egghead, Luffy asks Bonney, "So you've been here before?!" Bonney explains, "Yeah, when I was a kid, it was still a pretty run-of-the-mill lab at the time though." Luffy asks why she came back. Bonney says, "I'm here for answers. I'll have that bastard's life if I don't like what I hear!" and reveals, "Vegapunk's the one... who turned my dad into a cyborg!" Luffy thinks that is awesome, but Bonney says, "It's not... He's completely lost his sense of self. He doesn't even know who he is anymore... He's nothing but a living weapon now!!" Luffy apologizes and corrects himself: "S-sorry, Bogey. It's Bonney!"

Luffy spots a huge artificial creature and shouts, "Gum-Gum..." but Bonney warns, "Hey! We're infiltrating this place, remember?!" Chopper adds, "Take care, Luffy!!" Luffy says, "I'll be back after I take one for a ride!" and launches with "...Rocket!!" The others scream, "Waah!!" and "Gyaaah!! Luffy's been eaten!" After the creature passes through him, the group finds themselves in a city of impossible structures and holograms. Luffy says, "Hm?" and the others ask, "What in the world...?" and "What is all this stuff?!"

Luffy is flung through the space monster with a "WHOOSH!" and lands safely. Chopper asks, "You okay, Luffy?!" Luffy replies, "Hmm? I thought I got swallowed, but...?" The group sees a giant parfait, cookies, fruit, and cream. Chopper marvels, "Woah! Is that a giant parfait?" and "There's cookies and fruits too!" Luffy dives in: "Look at all that cream!" and "Thanks for the meeeal!" Bonney yells, "Hold it, you guys!! Why would they leave food lying around?! This has to be a trap!" but Luffy and Chopper are already trying to eat.

Luffy, Chopper, and Bonney pass straight through the giant food image with a "SCREECH" and crash into the floor. They react, "...?" "!!" and "...!!" Luffy asks, "What the--?! We went right through it!!" Bonney says, "How can we see it but not touch it?!" while Chopper cries, "It's so cruel to make us hungry like that...!!" Jinbe wonders if they died earlier and did not notice, but Bonney explains, "There's no way we're ghosts. I've never seen one before, but this parfait must be a hologram. It's a 3D image made of light. You see 'em in comics and science fiction stuff." Luffy protests, "What the hell is that?! This ticks me off!!"

The group watches the space monster hologram again. Luffy says, "Oh! The space monster!" and Bonney says, "That's why I went right through it!" Jinbe says the giant robot must also be one, since no one can make something like that. Chopper finds buttons with food pictures: "Hey, what's this? All these buttons have pictures of food on them... Give up already, everything on this island's a sham." Jinbe compares the climate to the freezing seas outside, but another girl suddenly appears and explains, "Actually, this is a winter island, but the environment is set to tropical mode in here. With my Island Aircon invention, you can specify and regulate... the temperature of an area right down to the soil!" Luffy reacts to her size and appearance: "This one's as big as Kaido!" "You're a holo-holo thing too, right?"

Luffy punches the newcomer, yelling, "Take this!!" with a "KA-POW!!" and discovers she is solid. She hits him back, shouting, "I'm soooorrryyy!!" at the machine or situation as Luffy is sent flying into a food vending device. The device opens with sounds like "CLONK," "DROP," "PSHH," and "SQUISH," producing a hamburger, fries, and Vega Cola. Bonney is astonished: "Huh?! A hamburger meal and a drink came out!! Who made it?" The girl says, "You can touch it." Bonney exclaims, "It's real!!" Luffy, Chopper, and Bonney devour the food: "Sooo gooooood!!!" and demand more: "Press the next one! Press the next one!" They shout for "Ramen!! Fried chicken!! Hot dogs!!" and "Steak!! Omurice!! Tonkatsu!! Cotton candy!! Cake!!" The girl calls it the unmanned cooking device and says she appreciates that they value her work.

Atlas explains the food machine: "It can turn raw ingredients into one of 500 unique dishes in under a minute!" She lists "Pizza! Pasta!" and says the "make do with what you've got" mode is best, but admits she cannot be fully happy because the shortage of competent engineers means the bucket of bolts cannot be mass produced. She vents, "It really pisses me off!!" and adds that the Island Aircon is in the same boat: its sensors could monitor living creatures and tame the weather if they had more money, but there are endless ideas and not enough resources. She punches a hologram while Chopper says, "She punched a hologram!" and shouts "Waffles!! Fried shrimp!!" Atlas says, "Of course, my photonic gloves make it possible to physically interact with light. Perception shapes your sense of reality... but touching projected objects turns that on its head, doesn't it?" Luffy asks, "Hm? So that girl isn't real?"

Atlas reflects, "Debates on what makes something real are as old as time. It's something you'll have to decide for yourself, but I consider the matter settled!" Jinbe asks, "So... just what are you?" Atlas introduces herself: "Me? Just your resident... scientific genius for hire. Dr. Vegapunk!" The caption identifies her as PUNK-05 WRATH, DR. VEGAPUNK ATLAS, though a note says Atlas is here in the raw as 05 while her dress says 06. Luffy and Chopper yell, "Whaa?!" and Luffy says, "You're Vegapunk?! I've heard that name! Koby told me about you!" Bonney looks furious and says, "What the hell?! That's a total lie!"

In the New World, aboard the World Government ship, Lucci explains Vegapunk to Kaku and Stussy. Kaku tells Lucci, "Just keep listening, Lucci. Vegapunk is technically still a single individual, but his genius is second only to his business when there's not enough time... You say they say you're as busy as a beaver, right? Well, imagine if there were more than one beaver. That was his grand idea, to split up into six people!" A note says the Japanese idiom is about cats. Kaku continues that all six "satellites" are also Dr. Vegapunk. The six are listed as Punk 01 Logic Shaka, Punk 02 Evil Lilith, Punk 03 Flair Edison, Punk 04 Wisdom Pythagoras, Punk 05 Wrath Atlas, and Punk 06 Desire York. Lucci comments, "Geniuses are such a pain... and I'm the weird one for thinking that sounds impossible."

Cipher Pol Aigis 0, Masked Assassins Kaku, Lucci, and Stussy, discuss their mission while a Seraphim-like Kuma child is present. Their assignment is to return this problem child to Egghead, then, while taking care not to damage any of the lab's precious assets, eliminate every last Vegapunk. Kaku asks, "So we're meant to kill the single most useful man in the world." Lucci wonders, "I wonder if this has something to do with the recent Lulusia incident..." Stussy says someone with instincts like his should know better than to question these things, and Kaku agrees, "Don't get us in any hot water, Lucci!!" The chapter ends with the CP0 assassination plan aimed at Vegapunk.
