The title page reads "Chapter 1041: Komurasaki." It continues Germa 66's cold-blooded voyage, volume 5: "This is for bullying Sanji-san! Pudding Punch!!" The cover-story image shows Charlotte Pudding angrily punching one of the captured Vinsmoke brothers, with Niji and Yonji still displayed in Chocolate Town. This is official cover-story material connected to Germa 66 and Whole Cake Island rather than the main Wano battle, so it is kept as useful extra context.

Momonosuke tells Yamato that he spoke with Zunesha briefly, though he still does not have the whole picture. Zunesha calls to him, "Momonosuke...!! I await your orders...!! I have come... to fight... by your side!!" Yamato is amazed that Momonosuke can really speak to the giant elephant and says, "Incredible, Momonosuke-kun! You really can speak to it!!" She adds that, just like Oden predicted, Momonosuke is the one meant to lead the world to its dawn. The page confirms that Zunesha has not simply arrived near Wano by chance; it came because it recognizes Momonosuke's voice and is prepared to act under his command.

Momonosuke says he learned why he cannot die here from his father's journal, but he also reveals a painful problem: Oden tore out the most crucial pages. Momonosuke wonders what made his father and Roger laugh at the final island and admits that the true importance of opening Wano still eludes him. He says it is not as if his father was an all-seeing prophet and asks whether Oden would still want to open Wano under the current circumstances if he were alive. Momonosuke confesses that he is not as wise as Oden, thinks of the potential dangers to the people of Wano, and wants to keep the borders shut. He asks Yamato whether that makes him a coward.

Inside the castle on the third floor, the corridor battle between Raizo and Fukurokuju finally ends. Fukurokuju gasps and collapses from the flames, while Raizo, still burning but conscious, shouts, "Not hot at all!!" The narration marks Raizo as the victor. Elsewhere, Jinbe moves through the burning castle and sees Raizo. He calls out, "Hey!! You're one of the samurai!! Why are you still here?!" Raizo, barely able to move, says that in this era even shinobi are free to choose, and that Fukurokuju was one of Luffy-dono's enemies. He also warns that the preparations are almost complete and urges Jinbe to hurry, hinting that Raizo has a plan tied to saving the castle from the fire.

On the second floor treasury, Orochi rages at Fukurokuju for being useless and wonders where he has gone. He orders the whole place blasted, worries that the earlier tremor may have been due to Kanjuro, and hopes this island will soon be history. Then he hears music and recognizes Komurasaki's shamisen, asking if she still thinks this is the time for music. He demands that she take off her mask, yelling that this is life or death. Komurasaki calmly keeps playing and says she still cannot tell whether he is the real Komurasaki or some kind of wrathful spirit. Orochi, trapped and unsettled, is forced to confront the woman he thought he had lost amid the collapsing castle.
The treasury collapses further as Orochi panics and tries to transform, only to discover that he cannot. He shouts, "Damn it... Why can't I transform?!" and then realizes, "I can't get loose!!" Komurasaki explains that he was so distracted he still has not noticed what she did. Orochi coughs at her and asks why she is just sitting there. She says she used a seastone nail to ensure he would not be able to change into his monstrous form. Orochi protests, "What are you saying?! I thought you loved me?!" but Komurasaki answers coldly, "Loved you? Don't be ridiculous... There isn't even a shred of affection for you in my heart." The page exposes her apparent loyalty as a deliberate trap.

Komurasaki turns Orochi's favorite song against him. He asks what she means, and she says the song is almost poetic: his favorite song is also "Moon Princess." A memory shows young Hiyori learning the tune while a retainer says, "I love that tune, Hiyori!!" and she happily answers that she will practice it even harder. Komurasaki tells Orochi that Oden cherished it too, then reveals the truth: "Kozuki Oden... my father!" Orochi stammers, "F-Father?!" while she asks how he could possibly smile when she played it for him. The chapter title comes into focus as Komurasaki is exposed as Kozuki Hiyori, using the identity Orochi adored to confront him with the family he destroyed.

In the castle basement, Kikunojo lies wounded and tells herself to live on. The scene then jumps to the aftermath of Izo's clash with CP0. Izo and one masked agent have both fallen after exchanging attacks, leaving rubble and smoke around them. The surviving CP0 agent curses, "Damn you, Izo!!" and says taking one of them down was his plan from the start. He questions why a surviving member of the Whitebeard crew would help these upstarts and remembers the mission: "Hurry... get Nico Robin..." Then his den den mushi rings. When he answers, he is told, "Listen. This is a direct order... from the Five Elders." The page shifts CP0 from the Robin mission toward a new, higher-priority command.
The Five Elders' order is explicit: "You are to eliminate 'Straw Hat' Luffy immediately!!" The surviving CP0 agent is shocked, asking what they are talking about because Straw Hat is in the middle of fighting Kaido. He says they cannot expect him to interfere in that battle and calls it impossible. The voice on the line replies that they are aware of the difficulties, but that the world-class nature of this battle makes it important. Even if CP0 is not privy to every detail, the order says this is a necessary precaution. The agent, battered and panting, realizes he is expected to go down empty-handed if needed, while elsewhere in the basement the castle continues burning and fighters search for a way out.

Across the burning island, different groups struggle to survive. A Beast Pirate tells Hamlet they need to get out and that the place is coming down, but Hamlet insists on carrying his master and says, "Leave it to me, master!!" Elsewhere, Marco holds back danger and says, "I won't let you die!! Just hold on a little longer!!" Wanda and Carrot decide to go back into the dome, worried that they do not want to get thrown off the edge of the island. Someone asks whether Onigashima is going to hold. In another wrecked area, Franky carries the unconscious Zoro and shouts, "Hey, you're still alive down there, right?! Zoro?! Tell me you're still kicking!!" The page surveys the raid's aftermath as victory and collapse happen at the same time.
At the dome interior frontal lobe floor near the Beast Pirates' bath, Nami and the others react to the shockwave. Someone shouts, "We got her!!" while another says the shockwave was insane. Nami says, "Traffy and the others must've taken down Big Mom...!!" but she is also worried about the fire and hopes Usopp and the rest are okay. Zeus asks whether Nami remembers who matters more now, him or Big Mom, and Nami answers, "Waaah!! You do, Nami! Of course!" Hihimaru, Komachiyo, and the others are praised for helping, while the group says they cannot drop their guard yet because this island is still the most dangerous place on the planet. The hole left by Big Mom's defeat dominates the floor as people shout that Kid and Law really beat her.

Kid and Law, utterly exhausted after defeating Big Mom, wonder whether everyone should brace themselves as more debris and shockwaves crash around the live floor. Someone yells that Kaido is still up there, and Law, lying battered on a stretcher or amid the rubble, says they have done their part. He admits, "I have no strength left... to put up a fight..." and adds that even if Kaido is the one coming back down, he cannot battle anymore. The page makes the victory over Big Mom feel costly rather than clean. The alliance has won a massive battle, but the remaining Emperor is still fighting Luffy above, and the captains who defeated Big Mom are out of usable strength.

On the rooftop, Luffy and Kaido both feel the shock of Big Mom's defeat. Luffy pants from the battle and asks whether Kaido felt that. Kaido calls out, "Linlin!!" and realizes, "They beat her!!" Luffy says Jaggy and the others really are amazing, and Kaido, in his weeping drunk phase, laughs and cries that Kid and Law actually did it. The two opponents face each other over the wrecked roof, both exhausted but still standing. Kaido asks whether Luffy's mouth is just for show and whether he knows how to speak, while Luffy breathes hard. The page lets Big Mom's fall echo into the main fight: Kaido has lost his old ally, and Luffy sees proof that the raid is finally turning.

Kaido remembers first meeting a young Big Mom. She was fifteen and called him too young, saying it was his first time teaming up with Rocks. She introduced herself proudly: "The name's Linlin!! I'm the woman who'll rule these seas!!" In the present, Kaido says she is a good-for-nothing and that he does not trust her, but he also remembers that she told him to come to her if something was bugging him. He says that now that he thinks about it, he and the old hag have a lot of history together. In a weeping drunk panel, Kaido cries, "How could I let this happen... We just swore that we'd help each other get the One Piece!" The page humanizes his reaction to Big Mom's defeat without softening the danger he still poses.

Luffy pushes forward into Gear Fourth, declaring, "Gear Fourth! Snakeman!!" as he prepares another barrage. Kaido tells him not to talk about dreams, saying Luffy's dreams made the people of this country starve. Luffy answers by unleashing a rapid stream of punches, beginning "Gomu Gomu no..." while Kaido tries to track where the blows are coming from. Luffy says he is giving Gear Fourth one last go and that he will not stop swinging until he has nothing left. The punches bend and whip around Kaido, battering him from multiple directions. The page shows Luffy turning the last of his stamina into a decisive assault, using Snakeman's speed and irregular angles to overwhelm Kaido's guard.

Luffy's Snakeman barrage lands as "Hydra!!" Fists coated in fury hammer Kaido from every side, and the caption calls it Luffy's fierce onslaught. Kaido is driven back with a pained "Ugh!!" while Luffy shouts that he is kicking Kaido out of this country for good. The final panels show Luffy's determination hardening as he spends his last Gear Fourth burst. He had just said he would keep swinging until nothing is left, and this page turns that vow into a storm of strikes. The chapter ends with "One Piece Ch. 1041 End" and the note "No break next week," leaving the roof battle at its highest intensity while CP0 has been ordered to interfere.
