INCIDENT AT THE TAVERN

The scene opens on the exterior of a large wooden building. A narration box reads, "AT THE TAVERN, 'THE DRINKER PUB'..." From inside, a voice shouts, "THE MAP OF THE GRAND LINE IS MINE AGAIN! AND WE HAVE A NEW CREWMATE!! EVERYTHING IS GOING OUR WAY!!" Inside, Buggy the Clown stands with his arms thrown wide in celebration, a large "DA-DUM" sound effect behind him. He yells, "EVERYBODY RAISE A GLASS! LIVE IT UP, MEN! HERE'S TO OUR NEXT CONQUEST!" Below him, a large crowd of his pirate crew is throwing a wild party. They are drinking from massive mugs, cheering, and laughing. Sound effects of "ARRR!" and "HOORAY!!!" fill the room as the pirates revel, some balancing on unicycles or wearing party hats.

At a table in the tavern, Nami slams a large wooden mug down with an "ARR!" as a pirate calls out to her, "NAMI!! ARE YOU KNOCKIN' EM BACK!?" She responds enthusiastically, "AYE AYE, CAP'N BUGGY!!" Another large pirate challenges her, holding up a mug: "TIME FOR A DRINKING CONTEST, NEW GIRL!!" Nami accepts, "YOU'RE ON!!" and they both chug their drinks with a "GLUG GLUG GLUG". In the next panel, the large pirate falls flat on his back, completely passed out. Nami wipes her mouth with a triumphant smile, declaring, "I WIN!" The surrounding pirates cheer in amazement, shouting "WOW!!" and "!!". A close-up shows Nami resting her chin on her hand, a sly, calculating look in her eyes. She thinks to herself, "HEH HEH... NOBODY CAN OUT-DRINK ME! AT THIS RATE THEY'LL ALL PASS OUT SOON. THEN THEIR TREASURE WILL BE ALL MINE! PIRATES ARE SUCH EASY PREY!"

A close-up shows Luffy furiously biting and pulling at the thick iron bars of a cage. Sound effects "CHANG CHANG CHANG" and "CHOMP! CHOMP!" surround him as he struggles. From his perspective inside the cage, he looks out at the pirates partying in the distance. Laughter echoes with "HAR HAR HAR HAR HAR". Luffy observes, "LOOKS LIKE THEY'RE HAVING FUN. THAT'S WHAT A PIRATE'S SUPPOSED TO DO!" Another close-up shows Luffy still gnawing on the bars, growling with a "GRR!" Nami crouches down outside the cage, looking in at him with a smirk. She asks, "HOW YA DOIN', 'BOSS?'" Luffy, still pressing his face against the bars, demands, "LET ME OUTTA HERE! AND GET ME SOMETHING TO EAT! I'M STARVING!"

Nami stands outside Luffy's cage, smiling slightly as she tells him, "THEY'LL PROBABLY SELL YOU OFF SOMEWHERE. DON'T YOU REALIZE WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOU?" Inside the cage, Luffy continues to chew on the iron bars with a "MNCH MNCH" sound, laughing "HAHAHA" and replying, "NEVER!! YOU'RE NOT SO BAD. MAYBE I'LL LET YOU JOIN MY CREW AFTER ALL!" Nami looks amused and says, "BUT HEY, IF MY PLAN WORKS... MAYBE I'LL GIVE YOU THE KEY TO THIS CAGE." Luffy answers, "REALLY, YOU DON'T SEEM SO BAD... FOR A PIRATE. THEN LET ME OUT OF HERE NOW!" Suddenly, a towering figure looms behind Nami. It's Buggy the Clown, laughing uproariously: "HAHA HAHA HAHA HAHA HA!!!" Nami gasps in shock with a "GASP!", turning her head slightly. Buggy looks down and declares, "YOU PICKED THE WRONG PARTNER, LITTLE THIEF!!"

Buggy chuckles darkly, "HEH HEH HEH," and says, "SHE BETRAYED YOU, AFTER ALL!? NOT ANYMORE, EH? CAN'T BLAME YOU!" Luffy looks confused and replies, "PARTNER? SHE'S NOT MY PARTNER!" Buggy, holding a large wooden mug, declares, "I'VE ALREADY DECIDED WHAT YOUR FATE SHALL BE. THE PUNISHMENT FOR TRYING TO STEAL MY TREASURE IS SEVERE!" Luffy asks hopefully, "ARE YOU GONNA LET ME GO?" Buggy leans in and yells, "THAT'S RIGHT, I'M GOING TO LET YOU GO-- OF COURSE I'M NOT GOING TO LET YOU GO!! ARE YOU DAFT!?" Buggy then turns to his crew, raising his arm high as they cheer wildly with shouts of "HOORAY!!!" and "YAAR!". Buggy commands, "LOAD THE SPECIAL BUGGY BALLS!!"

A large cannon is shown from the front with a heavy "BOM" sound effect. A pirate's hand holds up a black cannonball painted with Buggy's clown face and crossbones, accompanied by a "DA DUM!" sound. The pirate announces, "BUGGY BALL READY, CAP'N!" A close-up shows Buggy's intense, wide-eyed expression as he orders, "VERY WELL! NOW FOR A DEMONSTRATION... OF POWER!" Nami looks on in sheer terror, sweating with a sharp "!!!" reaction. Below her, Luffy watches with a blank, curious expression. A wide shot reveals the cannon set up on the tavern's terrace, aimed directly at a row of houses in the town.

A massive, devastating explosion rips through the town. A gigantic blast beam tears through a row of multi-story buildings, completely obliterating them as debris flies everywhere. A huge "BOOOM-OOM-OOM" sound effect dominates the panel. The aftermath shows a wide trench of destruction where the houses used to be, with only rubble remaining. Nami stares in stunned, sweating silence, her speech bubble containing only "...". The pirate crew cheers enthusiastically, "YAAAY!!!". Buggy clenches his fist in triumph, grinning widely. He boasts, "BREATHTAKING! THAT WOULD HAVE LEVELED A SMALLER TOWN!!! WITH THESE BUGGY BALLS-- AND THE SPECIAL POWERS I GOT FROM EATING THE DEVIL FRUIT-- I'LL RULE THE GRAND LINE!!!"

A large "DA-DUM!" sound effect dominates the top panel. Buggy gestures grandly toward a large cannon aimed at Luffy's cage. He tells Nami, "NOW IT'S YOUR TURN, GIRLIE!! PROVE YOUR LOYALTY BY BLOWING YOUR FORMER BOSS INTO MINCEMEAT WITH THIS BUGGY BALL! SHOW ME YOU'RE RUTHLESS ENOUGH TO HELP ME TAKE OVER THE WORLD! KILL YOUR FORMER BOSS!!!" Nami stands next to the cannon, looking shocked. In the middle panels, Nami sweats nervously, asking, "...K-KILL HIM? YOU WANT ME TO..." while Luffy stares blankly from inside the cage. In the bottom right panel, Nami waves her hands defensively at Buggy, sweating. "TH-THAT'S OKAY, CAPTAIN BUGGY..." In the bottom left panel, a close-up shows Nami forcing a nervous smile, sweat dropping from her face as she tries to defuse the situation: "I DON'T NEED TO DO THAT... HEY, LET'S JUST DRINK SOME MORE INSTEAD!? LET'S FORGET ABOUT THAT LOSER!!"

In the top panel, a tight close-up shows Buggy's face. His eyes are intense and shadowed as he commands coldly, "DO IT." A wide shot in the top panel shows the chaotic scene on the tavern roof. Nami stands frozen next to the cannon. The pirate crew parties and cheers wildly behind her. Shouts fill the air: "BLAST HIM!" "YEAH!" "DO IT!" "YARR!!" "BLOW 'IM TO PIECES!!" Luffy sits cross-legged inside the cage on the left. In the middle right panel, a close-up shows Nami looking deeply distressed, sweating as she thinks, "OH NO... WHAT SHOULD I DO? IF I DON'T KILL HIM, THEY'LL KILL ME!" The crowd's roaring "ARRR! Buggy yells from off-panel, "QUIT STALLING!!" Luffy, still in his cage, smiles broadly and confidently declares, "IT MEANS BEING PREPARED TO RISK YOUR OWN LIFE!!" Nami stands frozen by the cannon, holding the lighter, as the pirate crew behind her shouts, "BLAST HIM!" and "DO IT!!" A pirate with a star mark on his forehead and a striped shirt steps up to Nami, holding his own lighter. He taunts her, "WHAT'SA MATTER, NEW GIRL!? DON'T YA KNOW HOW TO FIRE A CANNON?" He grabs Nami's wrist, forcing her hand with the lighter toward the cannon's fuse, saying, "IT'S EASY. JUST PUT THE FLAME TO THE FUSE, AND..." with a "SRT" sound effect. Suddenly, Nami pulls out a wooden staff and strikes the pirate in the face with a loud "KRAK!!", her expression shifting to one of determination.

A massive "THWACK!!" sound effect fills the top panel as Nami follows through with a powerful two-handed swing of her staff, striking the star-marked pirate squarely on the top of his head. The pirate is sent flying backward, dropping his lighter with a shocked "!!?" reaction. Below, Buggy and his crew stare in stunned disbelief. Buggy's eyes bulge out in shock, and one of his men stammers, "HUH!?" with a "K-KWK" sound effect. In the bottom left panel, Luffy watches from his cage, his eyes wide and mouth agape in surprise, accompanied by a "!!" bubble.

Nami stands over the unconscious pirate, gripping her staff and panting heavily with "HUF HUF...". Buggy's face is shown in a dark, furious close-up, his eyes glowing with rage as he roars, "TRAITOR!! AND AFTER I WELCOMED YOU INTO MY CREW!" A loud "ROWR" sound effect accompanies his anger. Nami sweats nervously, looking sideways as she mutters, "DARN! I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF." From his cage, Luffy asks cheerfully, "WHOA, ARE YOU GOING TO SAVE ME AFTER ALL?" Nami snaps back at him, "DON'T BE STUPID!!" She turns to face the angry pirate crew, holding her staff defensively across her body. She yells at them, "I JUST GOT CARRIED AWAY... I JUST DON'T WANT TO BECOME A LOW-DOWN MURDERER LIKE ALL OF YOU!!"

A close-up shows Nami's face filled with intense emotion and anger, sweat on her cheek. She declares fiercely, "YOU PIRATES TOOK SOMEONE DEAR TO ME... I'LL NEVER BECOME WHAT I HATE!!!" In the next panel, Luffy looks at her calmly from behind the bars of his cage. He pauses with a "..." before realizing, "OH... SO THAT'S WHY YOU HATE PIRATES." Suddenly, a loud "DA-ROOM!!" sound effect rings out. The cannon's fuse is shown sparking violently with a "FSSSS" sound. Someone screams, "YIKES! THE FUSE IS LIT!!!" In the bottom panel, Luffy completely loses his calm demeanor. He furiously shakes the iron bars of his cage, creating a cacophony of "CHANG CHANG CHANG CHANG" noises. He panics, eyes wide and teeth gritted, yelling, "UH-OH!!! I'M GONNA DIE!!!"

FIRST YOU FLY OFF WITH A BIRD, AND NOW YOU'RE PLAYING IN SOME CAGE... FOOL!" In the bottom left panel, Nami stares in wide-eyed surprise, thinking, "THAT WAS ZOLO THE PIRATE HUNTER? WHAT'S GOING ON HERE? THE CREWMATE HE WAS TALKING ABOUT..." In the bottom right panel, the Buggy Pirates are sweating and panicking. One asks, "WHAT'S ZOLO THE PIRATE HUNTER DOING TALKING TO THAT THIEF?" while another stammers, "HEY, DID HE JUST CALL THAT GUY Z-ZOLO?"

In the top panel, Buggy stands tall and imposing, his large coat draped over his shoulders. A massive "DOOOM" sound effect looms behind him. He addresses Zoro, "SO YOU'RE RORONOA ZOLO, EH? YOU MUST HAVE COME TO CAPTURE ME!" Zoro, standing with his back to Buggy, glances over his shoulder and replies calmly, "I GAVE UP PIRATE HUNTING. I HAVE NO INTEREST IN YOU." In the middle panel, Buggy grins wickedly and draws several throwing knives between his fingers with a sharp "FWP FWP" sound. He says, "WELL, I AM INTERESTED IN YOU. KILLING YOU WILL BE A NICE FEATHER IN MY CAP." Zoro turns to face him, resting his hand on his sword hilt, and warns, "BACK OFF BEFORE I PLUCK ALL YOUR FEATHERS." In the bottom panel, the Buggy Pirates cheer wildly, "GET 'IM, CAP'N BUGGY! CUT 'IM TO PIECES!!" with a loud "YARR!". Buggy lunges forward, knives ready, yelling, "GIVE ME ALL YOU'VE GOT, PIRATE HUNTER, 'CAUSE I'M ABOUT TO GET A LOOK AT YOUR BLOOD!!!" Zoro draws his sword with a fierce, intense glare, declaring, "YOU ASKED FOR IT!"

A massive action shot dominates the top half of the page. With a swift and powerful strike, Zoro has slashed his sword horizontally right through Buggy's midsection. Buggy's body is completely severed in half, his upper torso floating in the air separated from his legs and waist. Buggy's face is frozen in shock with a small exclamation mark next to him. Zoro is shown in the follow-through of his swing, his sword extended. In the bottom right panel, Luffy looks on from his cage with a surprised expression, exclaiming, "HEY! THAT WAS TOO EASY!" In the bottom middle panel, Nami stares in stunned disbelief, sweating as she mutters, "NO WAY..." In the bottom left panel, instead of being horrified, three of the Buggy Pirates are shown smiling and chuckling darkly with a "HEH HEH...", completely unfazed by their captain being cut in half.
