The title page announces Chapter 393: "Olvia." The cover-story caption reads: "The name of Miss Goldenweek's strategy 'Meet Baroque' Vol. 26: 'A Rescue While the Marines Are Off Guard.'" The image belongs to the Baroque Works cover-story thread, showing a rescue carried out while the Marines are distracted. It is useful bonus material, but it does not continue Robin's Ohara flashback.

On the shore, Saul finishes the raft with a triumphant shout: "I'm done!!" Robin looks at it and says, "A raft!!" Saul laughs, "Dereshishishishi," as the newly built raft creaks and splashes in the water. Robin realizes what it means and says, "Then..." Saul notices the sadness on her face: "Wha' 'appened...? Ya look so sad." Robin asks the real question: "You'll be gone soon?" Saul answers honestly, "Oh yeah," but tries to soften it at once: "I thought of puttin' up a flag! I'll be 'ere a little bit longer!! Dereshishi!!"

Saul asks Robin, "To da sea? Ya wanna go to da sea, too, Robin?" Robin answers, "Yup." She explains her dream with quiet certainty: "My mom's been busy with her archaeology research, but when she comes back to this island next time, I'll ask her to take me to the sea with her!!" She adds that this is why she studied so hard and finally became an archaeologist. Saul is stunned that someone so young can claim that title: "An archaeologist... even though yer so little!?" For Robin, the sea is not adventure first; it is the path back to the mother she barely knows.

Saul asks whether Robin even remembers her mother's face. Robin admits, "... Yup," but says, "But she's my mom after all. So, I want to see her." Then she asks Saul, "Did you know...?" She tells him that there is "a whole century that was voided in this world," "a history that nobody knows about." Saul recognizes it: "... Ah. Da so-called 'Void Century'?" Robin says she is interested in it, but the Government forbids the research. She lowers the subject into a secret: her mother is traveling around the world studying it. "...But please, don't tell anybody about this!" Saul warns her that this really is a crime, and Robin reacts with a frightened "Eh...!?"

04
Saul understands the danger immediately. He says that if Robin's mother is researching the Void Century, "Dat means she's lookin' for stones called 'Pone-glyphs,' ain't she?" Robin is startled: "You know about the Poneglyphs...?" Saul does not pause to explain. He warns her, "Listen up, Robin!! Don't eva talk 'bout 'em in front of others!! Let alone that yer mom's lookin' for 'em..." Robin asks, "...What's wrong?" Saul then asks the question that changes everything: "Robin, ya... Do ya know... yer mom's name?" Robin answers, "Olvia." Saul freezes in shock.

Robin calls out, "Saul...!?" as the giant recoils under the weight of the truth. He thinks aloud in horror: "Olvia's daughter!!! Robin is..." Then the final piece falls into place. He asks, "...!! Den, ya mean... Dis island is called 'Ohara'!?" Robin answers, "Yup." Saul realizes that he has not merely drifted to some shore; he has drifted directly into the center of the coming disaster. "I drifted all da way to Ohara!!!" he cries. "Holy crap!! Holy freakin' crap!! I...!!"

Saul jolts into action: "It ain't the time for dis...!!!" He calls Robin's name and tells her to listen carefully because what he has to say is terrible. Then he reveals the danger bearing down on the island: "Marine warships are headin' toward dis land, Ohara, like... right now!!" Robin asks, "Marines? Why...?" Saul gives the answer without softening it: "To wipe out da scholars on dis island!!!" Robin is stunned, but Saul grips the practical danger first: "Ya... never ever tell dem government folks dat yer a scholar, ok!?" Robin wants to reject it as impossible, but Saul insists, "It's true!! I won't lie t'ya!!!"

Saul sends Robin running: "Go check da town t'see if anythin's wrong!" He adds that her mother might even have returned. Robin bolts toward the Tree of Omniscience, breathing hard and thinking, "Mom is...!?" Inside the library, the scholars are already gathered in alarm. Voices call out, "I thought you were caught by the Marines...!!?" and "Were you the one on the Marine ship!?" Others cry, "Olvia-san...!!" and "Olvia..." Robin's hope and the island's crisis arrive at the same place.

Nico Olvia stands among the scholars of Ohara again. She greets them with "Everyone..." and "It's been a long time," but there is no time for reunion. "First things first... Bad news, but what I've told you is the truth." Professor Clover understands what this means: "The Government has finally set its eyes on this land." Olvia asks whether they read the newspaper and speaks of the team that left Ohara six years ago to search for the Poneglyphs. The page identifies her as "Archaeologist Nico Olvia," tying Robin's absent mother directly to the forbidden research that has doomed Ohara.

Olvia delivers the news that breaks the room: the expedition has been "obliterated... all but myself." She says, "All 33 of them. I was captured, too." After examining the dead scholars' belongings, the Government discovered they were from Ohara. Olvia blames herself for bringing danger home, but Clover stops her: "Stop that...!! It's nobody's fault. Those who left for the sea and those who stayed here are all on the same team." Another scholar tells her, "You're the one who's had a hard time! Sorry for all the trouble." Olvia still says she does not know how to make excuses anymore, because this land is now in danger because of them.

Clover states what Ohara has always been in the Government's eyes: "From the beginning... the Government has labeled this island, Ohara, as a threat." This is an island where scholars from all over the world gathered and continued to study history. One scholar understands the trap closing around them: "I bet they think they've got us now... They won't miss this chance...!!" Olvia says the information has reached them before it is too late, but the threat is absolute: "They'll eventually wipe out everyone who claims to be a scholar in Ohara!!" She begs them, "So, everyone... Hurry up and leave this land, Ohara!!!"

For a moment, Olvia thinks the scholars will run. One says, "You're right. This time, it seems, we can no longer elude the eyes of our investigators..." Olvia urges, "Then hurry...!!" But the same scholar continues that if the Government is already planning to kill them, escape cannot protect what matters. Clover gives the decision its clearest shape: "But Olvia, I... cannot run away, abandoning all these treasures of mankind...!!! You should've known that." Ohara's library is not just a building to them. It is the stored memory of the world, and they will not abandon it even under threat of death.

The other scholars stand with Clover. "Same for us, Olvia," they say, and Olvia can only answer, "Everyone." They do not know exactly what the Government plans, but if they run, they cannot protect the precious histories stored in the Tree of Omniscience. They resolve to do their best this time, too. Clover then turns the conversation toward Olvia herself: "Besides... I know you have something else in mind." Olvia knows what he means and says, "But... I shouldn't see her..." The memory cuts back to the day she left by ship, when someone shouted, "Are you gonna get on the ship or not!? Make up your mind, Olvia!!"

In the flashback, Olvia chooses the path of a scholar over the life of a mother at home. She declares, "I'm a scholar of Ohara. I cannot forfeit my predecessor's will!!!" Others tell her that if she needs to take care of her child, she should not come, and that they will take care of her husband's unfulfilled wish, but Olvia answers, "No, I'm coming." She apologizes to tiny Robin in her heart: "I'm sorry, Robin. Once we solve every mystery, I'll come back to you, I promise." Back home, Robin cries, "Where is mommy~!?" Adults tell her that her mother went to sea for work and that she will stay with them for a while, while harsher voices complain, "I said shut her up, or I'll smack her!!!" and "Our kid is two, too!! I don't care if she's your sister's kid or whatnot. Why'd you have to take her in?" In the present, Robin arrives at the library doorway, and the scholars recognize her: "Olvia's daughter, huh...?"

Robin's first memory of the Tree of Omniscience returns: the great library towering above her, and a kindly scholar telling her, "No need to apologize. You can read all the books here for free." Another asks, "Do you like books?" and proudly says, "This is the world's greatest library." In the present, Olvia looks at Robin and is told, "She's a lot like you when you were a child..." and "An incomparable genius, too..." She hears, "...If she's doing well," and then makes the cruelest loving decision she can: "Then... I'll have to sever all ties with her." Olvia thinks, "Once I've stepped onto this path, I cannot make her 'the daughter of a criminal.'"

The alarm breaks into the library: "Dr. Clover!!" A scholar reports, "There's a ship with the World Government flag on it this time!!!" Clover says grimly, "For the Government's ship to come all the way to West Blue... Indeed... this is a very serious situation..." Olvia turns away from the scholars and shouts, "Everyone!! Listen...!!" Then, with a rifle in her hands, she tries to cut every bond that could endanger them: "You're neither my nakama nor my acquaintances!! Please remember that!!" The others call after her, "Olvia!!! Wait!! What're you doing!!?" Olvia runs anyway, declaring, "No matter that happens!!!"

At Ohara Shore, the World Government arrives beneath the immense Tree of Omniscience. Voices from the ship call, "Hey!! Notify headquarters." and "We're here." Agents pour onto the island with orders shouted over the rush: "Faster!!" "Go!" "Go!" Spandine steps forward with CP9, irritated rather than solemn. One agent mutters, "Sigh, so troublesome," while another wonders, "I wonder if this'll get me promoted or something." Spandine gives the order that turns Ohara's scholarship into a target list: "Guys, take anybody referred to as a 'scholar' into custody." The reply comes back, "Yes, sir!"

Panic spreads through town. Someone shouts, "A woman with a gun is in town!!" and Robin runs through the streets, breathing "Haa" and asking, "What's going on!!?" She hears the alarm from the library: "Doctor!! Everyone...!!" Then she sees the woman with the long rifle sprinting through the crowd. Robin recognizes her with the whole weight of years behind the word and cries, "Mom!!!" Olvia keeps running, and Robin's reunion is swallowed immediately by the terror of the Government's arrival.

Back at the shore, Saul grips his head in despair: "... How could dis be...!!? I'm sorry... Robin...!!!" Somewhere in West Blue, aboard a Marine ship, a report reaches Vice Admiral Kuzan. A Marine says, "Vice Admiral Kuzan, sir!!" and Kuzan asks, "... What is it?" The report is simple: "Chief Spandyne of 'CP9' has arrived at Ohara." Kuzan, half-awake and furious, says, "What's that...? Did you have to wake me up just to tell me that, assholes!!?" The Marine stammers, "I... I'm terribly sorry, sir!!" The page identifies him as "Marine Headquarters Vice Admiral Kuzan (Later known as Admiral Aokiji)," placing another future giant of the world into the Ohara tragedy.
