Chapter 692, "ASSASSINS FROM DRESSROSA," resumes at the exact instant Luffy turns his anger into a finishing blow. IT'S THE FASTEST ROUTE!" and explains, "I'M GOING TO CLOSE THE GATE IN R-BLOCK BEFORE THE GAS GETS IN!! SO HURRY UP!!" Chopper answers, "OH! OK, GOT IT. THANKS!!" Then they discover Brook lying motionless in the path. The others panic, "AH!! CHOPPER-SAN!!" and "EH!? Someone calls the attempt reckless: "WHAT A RECKLESS GUY!!" But Luffy's words echo through the scene: "COME NOW!! EVEN THROUGH FIRE, EVEN THROUGH GAS!! Luffy answers, "YEAH, BUT I GOT SICK OF TRYING TO CATCH HIM!!" Law snaps that Luffy cannot decide to change the plan just because he feels like it: "SICK OF IT OR NOT, THAT WAS THE PLAN!! Buffalo asks when she needs it, and she says, "I WANNA GO GAMBLING WHEN WE GET BACK." Still, she keeps the mission in mind: "ALRIGHT. AS SOON AS WE'RE DONE WITH THIS MISSION... I'LL MAKE THE PREPARATIONS TO LEND YOU THE MONEY! I'LL CARRY OUT THIS MISSION BECAUSE IT WAS REQUESTED OF ME, BUT I'M DEFINITELY GOING TO KILL THAT JOKER!!" Baby 5 aims her cannon down at Punk Hazard and studies the island's poisoned surface. She says, "THE ISLAND IS COVERED IN CAESAR'S GAS!! I WONDER IF IT WILL VANISH IF I FIRE AT IT." Buffalo tells her to wait: "NAH, JUST LEAVE IT TO ME. JUST UP ABOVE FOR A SECOND, BABY 5." He begins spinning with the power of his rotating body, telling her, "CHECK IT. LIKE THE POWER... OF A TYPHOON!!" Then he unleashes the wind attack: "SQUALL!!" and "MATASABURO!!" The violent spiral tears into the clouds of Shinokuni from above. This is not a rescue born from compassion; it is a practical move by Doflamingo's assassins to clear the poisoned air enough to locate their target. Still, the attack physically changes the island's surface and opens a view through the gas.

Buffalo's wind strips the poison cloud back, and Baby 5 scans the ruined island from above. She reasons, "IF WE WAIT DOWN THERE, CAESAR, MONET, AND VERGO SHOULD COME SOON ENOUGH." Buffalo, eager to finish and return, says, "NEEHEEEN LET'S HURRY UP SO I CAN GO BACK AND PLAY ROULETTE!!" Baby 5 spots something in the sea: "I SEE THE TANKER." Before they can simply wait, a massive body comes flying into the tanker area and slams down with explosive force. The watchers react with "EHH!?" and "!!?" as debris and water burst upward. Doflamingo's reaction is sharp: "WHAT THE...!?" but he recovers at once and gives the order: "RETRIEVE HIM AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE AND RETURN TO DRESSROSA!!" His grin at the end shows that even Caesar's defeat has not made him abandon the value Caesar represents.

Buffalo asks the question still hanging over Punk Hazard: "WHAT ABOUT MONET AND VERGO?" Doflamingo answers without hesitation, "HE HAS HIS REASONS. WE'LL DO AS HE SAID!!" Buffalo replies, "UNDERSTOOD, JOKER!!" Doflamingo then laughs at Luffy and Law from afar: "FLUFFLUFFLUFLU. THOSE SIMPLETONS. SEE, YOU BRATS!!! HEAVEN IS ON MY SIDE!! AS LONG AS I HAVE CAESAR, I CAN CONTINUE PRODUCING S.A.D.!!!" Baby 5 and Buffalo turn their attention to the island below. Buffalo notices, "EH? ON THE DECK OF THE TANKER..." and Baby 5 asks, "IS THERE SOMETHING THERE!?" Buffalo reassures her, "DON'T WORRY. THERE'S NO WAY THAT ANYTHING COULD HAVE SURVIVED THAT GAS FROM BEFORE..." Then the shape becomes clear enough to make them hesitate: "A ROBOT?" and "THAT BIRD??" The last close-up shows the battered General Franky on the tanker, silently confronting the arriving assassins while they ask, "WHAT'S UP WITH..."
