Marineford continues to collapse after Blackbeard reveals Whitebeard's power. Marines panic, shouting, "Headquarters is being destroyed!!" and "Get out of here!!! It's done for!!!" Another voice says, "This fortress has stood for hundreds of years protecting the seas..." while others cry, "Look at the state it's in!!!" Someone worries, "To the world!!? What's going to happen to the world?" The page frames Blackbeard as the cause of the war's spiral: "Blackbeard, who captured Ace and started this war, has taken Whitebeard's ability!!!"

Blackbeard revels in the stolen Gura Gura power while his crew watches from the wreckage. He laughs, "Zehahaha-hahaha!!!" and shouts, "The power!!! It's flowing from within my body!!! What amazing power!!!" As rubble and shock waves spread through Marineford, Teach declares, "I feel like I can do whatever I want to this world!!!" He chooses his first target immediately: "Let's start off... by sinking Marineford into the sea!!!" The Blackbeard Pirates stand behind him as the battlefield trembles.

Before Blackbeard can unleash more destruction, Sengoku moves. Marines and pirates react with "What!!?" and "Hm?" as the giant Buddha form comes down on Teach and his crew with a massive shock wave. The impact throws the Blackbeard Pirates backward and breaks the ground beneath them. Blackbeard is forced to brace under Sengoku's attack, the page filling with heavy impact lettering and debris as the Fleet Admiral answers Teach's threat directly instead of letting Marineford be swallowed.

Sengoku stands between Blackbeard and Marineford's destruction. He says, "A fortress... can be rebuilt... But the island of Marineford stands at the center of the world." He explains, "For the good people of the world who fear you villains, there is a deeper meaning to our presence here!! Our justice will never be destroyed!!!" Sengoku snarls, "Don't speak so lightly of sinking this place, you pup!!!" Blackbeard answers with a grin, "Zehahaha... well then... try to protect it!!!" His crew reels from the shock wave while Teach prepares to clash again.

The chase for Luffy continues away from the Blackbeard clash. Iva and Inazuma are struck down while allies cry, "Iva!!!" and "Inazuma!!!" Akainu presses forward through the battlefield and asks, "Jimbei... won't you give me Dragon's son?" The pirates around him rage, "Why, you...!!!" Jimbei carries the unconscious Luffy through smoke and broken ice, trying to reach the sea while Akainu closes in with lethal persistence. The page keeps Luffy's life as the center of the struggle even after Ace and Whitebeard's deaths.

Jimbei runs with Luffy, panting, "Haa... haa..." and thinking that if he can reach the sea he will have the advantage: "If we reach the sea, I'll have the advantage!!! We can escape!" But the path is blocked by ice with a hard "Kachin!!" Someone curses, "Damn!! The ice!!!" and another warns, "He's here!!" as Akainu catches up. Jimbei realizes the escape route is failing, and a small voice says, "Sorry, Jimbei..." while Luffy remains limp in his arms and the battlefield closes around them.

Akainu's magma fist punches through Jimbei from behind and reaches Luffy, throwing blood across the page. Onlookers scream, "Jimbei!!!" and "Damn!!" as Luffy cries, "Aaaahh!!!" Marines and pirates realize the horror of it: "...!! He pierced Jimbei and hit Ace's brother!!!" Someone asks, "Is he still alive!!?" Akainu demands, "You're still resisting, Jimbei!?" Jimbei, still conscious despite the wound, gasps to Luffy, "Uhh!! Luffy... haa... I'm sorry!!!" The attack leaves both protector and protected badly wounded.

Crocodile interrupts Akainu's pursuit from the side. He asks, "Are you really in a position to be worrying about others right now?" Akainu says Jimbei was in the way and that if he had pierced Luffy's heart it would have been painless. He adds, "Why do you still protect him with his chest gouged out like that? He'll die soon anyway." Crocodile, refusing to let Akainu have his way, cuts through the fight with sand and prepares to send Jimbei and Luffy toward the escape ships.

Crocodile unleashes "Sables!!!" and sends Jimbei and Luffy flying out of Akainu's reach. Voices shout, "Nnn!!" "Crocodile!!" and "Ohhh!!!" as the sand current carries them upward. Crocodile orders, "Someone grab them and take them to a ship!!!" Then he scolds the battlefield: "If you want to protect something, do it right!!! Don't let them have their way anymore!!!" The allies answer, "R-right!!!" His intervention turns Luffy's escape from a private rescue into a collective stand against the Marines.

Buggy panics as Jimbei and Luffy come flying toward him. He yells, "Dowaah!!! Something came flying!!!" Others shout, "Eh? They stopped in the sky!!" and "Captain Buggy!! He saved Strawhat and Jimbei!!!" Buggy blurts, "Ah?" while the prisoners misunderstand everything: "...! He pretended like he was running, but he was really saving his comrade from the prison break, Strawhat!" They praise him, "He's so noble!!! He's so noble!! He's shining!!!" Buggy can only stare in confusion, dragged into the rescue by accident.

Buggy catches the wounded Jimbei and Luffy in midair, only for Akainu's magma to come after them. Buggy screams, "Uwoooh!!! Jimbei and Strawhat!!? How the hell did you end up covered in blood and flying through the air!!?" Then he cries, "Gyaaah!!! Magma!!?" Jimbei thanks him, saying, "Thanks, Red Nose... for saving us... But Luffy... is badly hurt... He needs to be treated soon..." Buggy yells back, "I have no idea! Shut up!! I'm the one who wants to be saved, idiot!! Where am I supposed to find someone to treat him here...? And who are you calling Red Nose!!?"

Akainu mocks the Whitebeard Pirates for protecting Luffy: "Looks like everyone's here... Are you all going to give your lives for that Strawhat brat? You are all utter fools!!!" The commanders answer that the man who protected Ace, the one the boss recognized, must be sent into the new age: "It is our duty to send him into the new age!!!" One pirate shouts at Akainu, "You want to kill him because you see him as a potential threat. But that's the same reason why we'll protect him!!" As Jimbei asks where to take Luffy and is told words are useless now, the Whitebeard Pirates stand in formation and roar, "Whitebeard Pirates!!! Do as you please!!!"

The battle spreads with no sign of stopping. Pirates cry, "Uwaaah, Sengoku and Blackbeard are over there!" and "Over here there's Akainu and the squad leaders!!!" Another says, "There's no end to this battle!!" Buggy's followers beg, "Captain Buggy!! Do something!" but Buggy snaps, "Hell no, idiots!!" Then something rises from the water: "Eh!!? Something's in the water... A ship!!?" The hull surfaces with the Heart Pirates mark, and shocked voices ask, "...!!? A submarine!!? Whose is it!!?" From the submarine, Trafalgar Law orders, "Bring Strawhat over here!!!"

Trafalgar Law reveals himself aboard the submarine, shocking Buggy, who yells, "The Strawhat!? Ahh!!? Who are you, brat!!?" Law says, "Strawhat might be an enemy of mine, but we still share a bond. I'll only be boring if he dies here!!" He and the Heart Pirates shout, "We'll get him out of here!!! Leave him to me!!!" When Buggy demands to know why, Law gives the simplest answer: "I'm a doctor!!!" The Heart Pirates stand ready on the submarine deck, offering the first real chance to treat Luffy's life-threatening wounds.
