Two Peas in a Pod

Explosions rock the battlefield as Zorojuro stands back-to-back with another swordsman. A voice shouts, "GO GET'EM, SANGORO-SAN!!" Another yells, "ZOROJURO IS BACK IN ACTION!!" while sound effects of clashing blades ring out with "SHING" and massive impact lettering. In a lower panel, Queen and King roar in fury: "QUEEN!!" "KING!!" A young girl with goggles exclaims, "IT REALLY DID HEAL HIM! I'M AFRAID TO THINK ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN AFTER THOUGH..."

Multiple panels show intense close combat. A voice commands, "DROP IT!!" as an attacker is struck with "UGH!!" and "ZUBAAA!!" Someone shouts, "HOW DARE YOU ATTACK THE ALL-STARSI!" Allies argue: "IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'RE FRIEND OR FOE, THERE'S NO PLACE FOR MEDDLING IN THAT FIGHT!!" "BUT BOSS, THEY'RE UP AGAINST THE ALL-STARS!!" "WE CAN'T LET ANYBODY INTERFERE WITH THEIR DUEL!!" A fish-man warrior named Kawamatsu yells, "NICELY DONE, KAWA-MATSU!! EVERYONE, LISTEN UP!!" In another panel a man with glasses reflects, "I'M TALKING ABOUT THE DISTANT PAST... BACK THEN GOD'S LAND WAS UP THERE. I THOUGHT ONLY MARY GEOISE WAS ABOVE THE RED LINE...I" while Sanji listens with a serious expression, cigarette in mouth, thinking, "JUST LOOK AT THE EXPRESSIONS ON THEIR FACES, WE WOULD ONLY GET IN THEIR WAY!!"

Marco is struck hard in midair as a massive clawed hand slams into him. "WAKE UP, MARCO!!" someone yells. "WHEN DID YOU START BELIEVING SUCH CRAP, POPSI!" The attacker laughs wildly, "GURA-RARA!!" Below, Izo stands over a fallen figure and shouts, "...YOU'RE STARTING TO SOUND LIKE POPS DID WHEN HE WAS DRUNK! SAY, IZO, DO YOU BELIEVE IN GODI" Izo replies, "HEHE! WELL, I KNEW YOU'D HAVE MY BACK!" The opponent snaps, "WHAT'S WITH YOUI HOW CAN YOU SPACE OUT ON A BATTLEFIELDI!" A voice cries, "OH, SHUT UP!!" and another grunts, "AGH!!" In the wide lower panel, King looms over the battlefield and declares, "THE DROUGHT, THE PLAGUE, AND THE WILDFIRE!! THE THREE OF US ARE KAIDO-SAN'S CALAMITIES!!" Queen adds, "THAT DIDN'T EVEN HURT A BIT!!" King continues, "YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO PUT YOUR BACKS INTO IT. YO, IF YOU WANNA TAKE US DOWN..." A long scream echoes, "わあああああああ...!!"

The clash intensifies as King and Queen press their assault. "UGH!!" a fighter grunts amid flying debris. King boasts, "OUR UNSTOPPABLE TOUGHNESS IS WHY THEY CALL US ALL-STARS!!" Sanji, mid-leap, retorts, "I SAID IT'S NOTHING! YOU'RE NOT GONNA SLOW ME DOWN, ARE YOUI MY BODY JUST FEELS A LITTLE ODD..." He continues, "I'VE BEEN FEELING KINDA OFF... NOTHING. IT'S JUST SINCE MY SECOND TIME USING THE RAID SUIT." A close-up shows his surprised face, "!I" and a voice asks, "WHAT'S WRONGI" Sanji lands a powerful kick, shouting, "YOU OWE ME ONE!!" Queen counters with a massive mechanical strike, "MY BODY, NOT MY FACE, DOOFUS!" and the sound "SHING!" rings out as sparks fly.

Queen lunges with a spinning mechanical claw, yelling, "BRIDAL CLAW!!" The massive arm slams forward with a heavy impact. A narrator note reads, "T/N: THE FURIGANA USES THE WORD CYBORG, THE KANJI STILL USES MODIFIED HUMAN." Queen declares, "NOW WE'RE EVEN!!" In the lower panel, Queen laughs, "MUHAHA! I REMEMBER NOW! ALL OF JUDGE'S BRATS ARE ENHANCED*!" while the Germa 66 logo is visible. Sanji's voice cuts in, "THAT BASTARD'S CRAZY!! THAT BURNING LEG OF YOURS IS SOME KIND OF AUGMENTATION, RIGHTI!"

Sanji confronts Queen directly. "ARE YOU STUPIDI! WHAT KIND OF HUMAN CAN BURST INTO FLAMESI! IT'S NOT LIKE YOU'RE A LUNARIAN!!" Queen retorts, "HATE TO BREAK IT TO YOU, BUT I'M A REGULAR HUMAN, UNLIKE MY SIBLINGS!!" Sanji's eyes blaze as he answers, "...BURN HOTTER THAN ANY REAL FLAME EVER COULD!! IT'S POSSIBLE BECAUSE MY PASSIONS..." Queen mocks, "..." with a small sound effect. Queen then attacks with spinning blades, shouting, "COOKING UP SEA BEASTS IS MY SPECIALTY, YOU DINO-BASTARD!!" Sanji counters, "I'LL SHOW YOU HOW DEVASTATING MY CYBERNETIC ENHANCEMENTS CAN BE!! THEY'RE SO ADVANCED, EVEN VEGAPUNK CAN'T MATCH THEM!"

A masked fighter in ornate armor and chains clashes violently with a bandaged opponent. The masked warrior's eyes narrow as he clicks a mechanism on his blade. "DON'T GET DISTRACTED, YOU BLACK MUMMY!!" he warns. The black mummy reels from the strike. In a side panel, a wide-eyed armored figure draws a sword with a sharp "SHING," shouting "ARGHI!" as blades fly. The masked fighter lunges forward in a powerful overhead swing, his arm extended with a massive impact effect "ゴキィ!!!" The black mummy is driven back, swords scattering around them amid motion lines and debris.

The masked fighter continues, "TRADITIONAL FORMS AND TECHNIQUES IN A REAL BATTLE. I'VE NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHY ANYONE WOULD STICK TO..." The bandaged opponent retorts, "I GET IT... YOU'RE JUST A BLOOD-THIRSTY BRUTE!" The masked warrior draws his massive jagged blade with a dramatic "ビし!!" effect. "HAVE IT YOUR WAY!" he declares. "JUST REMEMBER, WHEN IT COMES DOWN TO IT... I MIGHT BE WILLING TO BITE THROUGH YOUR THROAT TOO!" The opponent counters, "YEAH, I GUESS YOU HAVE A POINT!" and "YOU NEVER CLAIMED TO BE A SWORDSMAN AFTER ALL." In the lower panels, the masked fighter presses on: "I CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE HERE!!" while recalling, "THERE WAS A REASON I DIDN'T PROTEST TOO HARD... WHEN HIYORI-SAMA... OFFERED THAT MAN ENMA," as Boss Hyogoro appears in the background.

Hyogoro and another figure discuss the resemblance: "HE AND SHIMOTSUKI USHIMARU ARE LIKE TWO PEAS IN A POD!! RIGHT DOWN TO THEIR SWORD HANDLING, IT'S UNCANNY!! RIGHT, I SEE IT TOO... IT'S PECULIAR. HE MAY BE A FOREIGN PIRATE, BUT HE REMINDS ME SO MUCH OF THE FORMER DAIMYO OF RINGO WHEN HE WAS YOUNG!" A close-up shows a determined eye: "AND THIS YOUNG MAN WAS THE ONE TO FINALLY RETURN SHUSUI TO WANO!! IT MUST BE FATE OR SOMETHING..." A flashback panel reveals Ushimaru-sama as a one-eyed samurai descendant of Shimotsuki Ryuma. The young swordsman leaps into action, blades flashing: "...WAS A ONE-EYED SAMURAI!!! AFTER ALL, RYUMA..."

In a burning castle interior labeled "SECOND FLOOR - TREASURE REPOSITORY," allies shout, "WE'RE NOT GONNA LET THAT HAPPEN!!" and "WE'VE GOT TO BACK UP JACK-SAN!!" A massive horned, tusked beast roars "BAR-AAG!!" while grappling with a cloaked figure. The beast growls, "YOUR COUNTRY'S ALREADY PAID THE PRICE FOR SHELTERING HIM!! YOU MUST BE GETTING TIRED!! I'LL PUT YOU TO SLEEP FOREVER, DUKE OF THE DAY!! THERE'S NO NEED TO DRAW THIS OUT. I'VE ALREADY FORGIVEN YOU FOR LYING TO ME ABOUT THE SAMURAI..." Panting heavily with "PANT PANT" effects, the beast continues the assault. In smaller panels, a wolf-like mink and others react with heavy breathing: "...IF WE SOLD RAIZO OUT! WE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LIVE WITH OURSELVES..."

Flashbacks fill the upper panels as Kin'emon and the others recall their long suffering. "EVERYTHING WE WENT THROUGH..." one growls through gritted teeth while another face twists in pain. "IT WOULD'VE MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR US TO COME BACK TO WANO!!" A massive explosion rocks the castle grounds as debris flies everywhere. "...WAS TO GET TO THIS POINT!!" the narration declares amid the blast. "...SINCE THE DAY ODEN-SAMA LEFT US..." The lower panels show close-ups of the enraged samurai. "I'LL SLICE OPEN MY OWN STOMACH!!" one roars. "IF HE'S HERE..." another mutters. "I DON'T KNOW THIS RAIZO!!" a third insists. "I SWEAR TO GOD..." the final figure howls with mouth wide open.

The ruined courtyard stretches out as a voice asks, "ARE THINGS DIFFERENT NOWI" Ashura Doji in his monstrous form snarls "GRRR..." while another figure cries "ASHURA!!" A hole appears in the roof. "HOW..." a samurai questions. "HOW ARE YOU IN YOUR SULONG FORM...I!" The beast-like warrior demands, "DO WE STILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO CLAIM TO BE ODEN'S SAMURAII!" In the large lower panel a transformed warrior with flowing mane and flames declares, "WE DON'T CARE IF WE HAVE TO LAY DOWN OUR LIVES TO USHER IT IN!!" while narration states "WE ENDURED A LOT TO REACH THIS DECISIVE BATTLE. OUR MILLENNIA OLD CITY WAS RAZED TO THE GROUND!! BUT THE DAWN OF THE WORLD IS FINALLY UPON US!!"

At the Skull Dome front entrance a massive skull looms as a character lies injured, crying "PEROS-PEROI!" The text notes "THE RAID WOULD'VE FAILED FOR SURE!!" and "WITHOUT PEDRO, LUFFY AND THE OTHERS WOULD NEVER HAVE MADE IT HERE!!" Separate panels show frantic reactions: "YOUR SULONG FORM!!" "...A DRINK AND WATCH!" "PEDRO, JUST POUR YOURSELF..." "THE MOON IS BEAUTIFUL TONIGHT." "MASTER NEKOMAMUSHI!!" In the bottom spread a giant cat-like figure with flames roars "BIG TONGUE!!" as the attack lands with massive sound effects "ガオオオオオ!!!" and "ベェん!!!"

Inside the castle second floor a dragon-like figure attacks while voices shout "HOW DARE YOU MOCK THE YOUNG MASTERI!" "ODEN IS DEAD, AND NOW YOU SERVE A GLORIFIED CHILD!" and "HAHAHA! YOU 'GHOSTS' ARE A JOKE!" The samurai retort "WANO ITSELF WILL SHAPE MOMONOSUKE-SAMA'S GROWTH!" "WE WON'T LET YOU TAKE THAT HOPE AWAY!!" with a loud impact. Another panel shows a swordsman firing "EVEN US MISFITS EVENTUALLY BECAME SAMURAI!!" and "EVERYONE NEEDS TIME TO MATURE!!" At the Udon - Tokage Port location a chaotic fight erupts as characters yell "DO WE EVEN STAND A CHANCEI!" "WHY IS KAIDO HEREI!" "WHY IS KAIDO HEREI!" ending with a massive "WHAAAT!!" and screams.

Kin'emon shouts in shock, "I FOLLOWED MOMONOSUKE-SAMA'S ORDERS!! I AGED HIM TILL HE WAS 28 YEAR OLD!!" as the young Momonosuke transforms into a massive dragon amid swirling clouds and debris. Nearby voices react: "HOW IN THE WORLD...I! WHAT!I THE KID THAT WAS JUST HEREI!" and "YOU LOOK JUST LIKE...!!!" Momonosuke cries out with tears, "MOMONOSUKE-SAMA," while another figure stammers, "BE-CAUSE...!!! DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD DO THAT. WHY ARE YOU CRYING THOUGHI" Luffy grins fiercely and yells, "MOMO!! LET'S GO TAKE BACK WANO!!" Momonosuke's dragon head roars "GROWL...!!!" as Luffy pumps his fist, "YEAH!!" and "THAT'S RIGHT!!" The dragon looms over the battlefield with impact lines and smoke. Luffy calls out "MOMO!" while the dragon warns, "IF YOU ATTEMPT TO EAT ME, I WILL DEVOUR YOU WHOLE!!" Luffy snaps back, "I AM NOT YOUR SNACK!!" A voice from the side shouts, "STRAW HAT, GET BACK, IT'S DANGEROUS!!" The page ends with the chapter title "ONE PIECE CH.1023 /END" and Luffy's determined face.
