TREASURE

Luffy turns with a surprised "HUHI". From off-panel a voice shouts "HEY!". In the street Luffy scratches his head while Nami stands nearby. A voice declares "CRAZY IS GOOD." and another exclaims "BUT HOWI YOUR BODY DEMOLISHES A BUILDING AND YOU WALK AWAY WITHOUT A SCRATCH!I THAT'S CRAZY!". Zoro stands in the background as Buggy yells "HOW COULD YOU SURVIVE THAT!I" and "HEY, KID! YOU'RE ALIVE!". Luffy replies "NO BIG DEAL." Close-up on Luffy's excited face: "I'M AFTER THE MAP OF THE GRAND LINE... AND A NAVIGATOR!!" He continues "I JUST FIGURED OUT WHY I'M HERE." An old man with glasses sweats and asks "WHY DID YOU ALL COME TO THIS TOWN ANYWAYI WHY TAKE ON PIRATESI".

Outside the "PET FOOD" store a large white dog with a curly tail barks repeatedly "RUFF! RUFF!!". A man with curly hair riding a massive lion asks "WHAT'S WITH THIS DOGI" and "DOES HE THINK HE CAN STOP US FROM ENTERING THAT STOREI". The small dog growls back "RUFF! RUFF!!" with an angry expression. The lion snarls "GRRRRR..." while the man glares and says "DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE GUARDING THIS CRUMMY SHOPI" and "YOU LITTLE MUTT...".

The lion lunges with a massive "GYOSSK" impact, sending the small dog flying with "SNAP...". The dog bites back with "RUFF! RUFF!" as the lion roars "RUFF!" and "GRRRR!". The man watches from the doorway. In the final panel the curly-haired man stands in front of the "PET FOOD" store with arms open, declaring "YOU AND ME WILL MAKE IT PROSPER TOGETHER!" and "LOOK, CHOUCHOU! THE STORE'S ALL FINISHED!" while the dog barks "RUFF!" beside an "OPEN" sign.

The white dog Chouchou snarls furiously, teeth bared, as a massive impact sends him flying. "FWUMP...!" The dog crashes through debris with a pained yelp. A large man with curly hair and glasses looms over him, laughing. "YOU IDIOT! I'M TRYING TO HELP YOU!" he shouts. Another man jeers, "HA HA HA! YOU LOOK LIKE A DOG, BUT I DIDN'T KNOW YOU ATE LIKE ONE, TOO!!" The curly-haired man, Boodle, glares and retorts, "HAVING A ROUGH TIME, EHI FINE, THEN I'LL BUY SOME PET FOOD TO EAT!" Chouchou barks defiantly, "RUFF!" In the background, townspeople watch as one remarks, "BUSINESS IS AWFUL SLOW..."

Boodle leans in close, asking, "YOU DON'T KNOW WHEN TO QUIT! IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD IN THERE, DOGGYI" "MY-OH-MY!" he exclaims as Chouchou growls and lunges. The dog barks repeatedly, "RUFF! RUFF!" A shopkeeper laughs, "HEH HEH! THAT'S THE SMARTEST, BRAVEST DOG IN TOWN, MISS!" Boodle yells at the dog, "CHOUCHOU! HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU NOT TO EAT THE MERCHANDISE!" Inside the pet food store, another man announces, "WE SOLD 100 BOXES TODAY!" Chouchou continues barking, "RUFF! RUFF!" Boodle smiles and says, "AWRIGHT, CHOUCHOU. YOU'RE IN CHARGE OF THE SHOP WHILE I'M IN THE HOSPITAL."

Luffy grins and shouts, "DON'T TALK CRAZY! NEXT TIME, THAT LION WILL EAT YOU ALIVE!" Nami stands nearby as Luffy adds, "I'M GOING TO LOOK FOR ZOLO. I'D BETTER FIND HIM BEFORE THAT WEIRD COSTUME GUY DOES." Boodle walks away, muttering, "WELL, HE'LL NEVER SELL PET FOOD IN THIS TOWN AGAIN..." A close-up shows a man examining his bleeding arm, thinking, "WHAT KIND OF FOOL WOULD PIT A DOG AGAINST MEI I'M BLEEDING... STUBBORN DOG BIT MY ARM..." Chouchou's jaws clamp down on a sign with loud "CHOMP! CHOMP! CHOMP! RSK-RSK" sounds. Luffy reacts with wide eyes to more barks, "RUFF! RUFF!" before walking off with "SHUF SHUF" steps.

A massive explosion erupts with "FWOOOSH" smoke and debris as Chouchou barks frantically, "RUFF! RUFF! RUFF!" The dog stands alone amid the ruined street. Narration reads, "THIS IS HIS MASTER'S STORE..." and "IT'S HIS TREASURE." Chouchou continues barking, "RUFF! RUFF! RUFF!" Luffy stands watching the destruction with a surprised expression as more barks echo, "RUFF! RUFF! RUFF!" A small round object appears nearby.

Chouchou barks furiously in the ruined streets, "RUFF! RUFF! RUFF! RUFF!" A voice reflects, "...BECAUSE IT'S ALL THAT'S LEFT OF HIS BELOVED MASTER. AND I THINK THAT CHOUCHOU STILL GUARDS THE STORE..." Luffy stares ahead with fierce eyes as the barking continues. Suddenly a massive shadow falls over the town. A gigantic clawed foot slams down with earth-shaking force, "DOOM!!" Mohji stands atop the enormous lion Richie, whose mane bristles as they tower over the buildings.

Mohji glares down with sweat on his face, shouting "YOU SHOULD BE DEAD!!" From atop Richie he yells, "DIDN'T I JUST DEAL WITH YOUI YOU!!" Luffy stands with arms crossed and a wide grin. Mohji continues, "RUBBER MANI YOU'VE GOT THE DEVIL'S OWN LUCK, BOY. BUT THAT HIT MUST HAVE SCRAMBLED YOUR BRAINS... YOU'D HAVE TO BE CRAZY..." Luffy laughs and declares, "I'M A RUBBER MAN! IT TAKES MORE THAN A LITTLE KICK TO KILL ME!"

Richie roars with jaws wide, "GRRRRARRRRR!!!" Mohji commands from above, "KILL! TO TANGLE WITH ME AGAIN! RICHIE, BITE HIS HEAD OFF!!" Luffy stretches both arms back with a swirling motion, "SWURK SWURK SWURK SWURK!!" He shouts, "TO KILL ME! IT'LL TAKE MORE THAN THAT LION..." The lion lunges as Mohji cries out in shock, "WHAT'RE YOU DOING TO YOUR ARMS!I HOW CAN YOU--!I" Luffy's fists slam forward with heavy impact, "HR WCH!!"

Luffy's arms coil and launch forward in a powerful strike, "GUM-GUM..." The stretched limbs whip through the air with rapid motion, "FWOOOP FWOOOP FWOOOP FWOOOP." The massive punch crashes into Richie with devastating force, "KRAK KRAK KRAK!!" The lion is sent flying backward, legs kicking helplessly as Mohji is thrown off, the impact marked by "GAVEL!!!!"

Richie the massive lion rears back and roars with fury, "RICHIE!!!" Luffy is sent flying by a powerful kick, his body twisting through the air with a loud "FWUMP". A voice demands, "WHAT ARE YOU, YOU FREAK!I" Another asks, "THE GUM-GUM TREEI YOU ATE THE DEVIL'S FRUIT, LIKE CAPTAIN BUGGY!I" Luffy lands hard and pleads desperately, "J-JUST LET ME APOLOGIZE AND GO! ALIVE." He quickly offers, "OKAY, OKAY! I'LL GIVE YOU ALL THE GOLD YOU WANT!!!" A stern voice cuts in, "IT'S TOO LATE FOR APOLOGIES... THEY WON'T BRING THAT DOG'S TREASURE BACK!"

Luffy glares with intense determination, declaring, "THAT'S WHY I CAME......TO CLOBBER YOU!" His fist stretches back dramatically with a massive "BOING" as Richie panics, "WAAH! YOU'RE STRETCHING AGAIN!!!" Luffy shouts, "TAKE THIS!" while Richie screams in terror, "AAAAAAAAHH! NOOOO! PLEASE!!!!" and "WAAAAGH!" Luffy's stretching leg strikes with a sharp "SREEEEEEEN" as Richie desperately yells, "GRAB!"

Luffy delivers a devastating downward kick that smashes into Richie with a huge "SPLAW", sending the lion crashing to the ground as Richie cries out, "HELP M-". The impact creates a massive shockwave. Below, three panels show Chouchou the dog looking on with a sad, tired expression, then sitting alone amid the ruined, burning streets of Orange Town filled with rubble and smoke.

In the devastated town square, Mayor Boodle stands with Nami and Chouchou. Boodle says grimly, "THEY TAKE AWAY WHAT'S MOST PRECIOUS AND LAUGH!!!" Nami replies, "THEY'RE ALL THE SAME!!!" and shouts, "PIRATES!!!" Luffy arrives from the side with a casual "SHUF", prompting Boodle to ask, "HEY, WHAT THE...I" Nami recognizes him, "I WAS HOPING THAT LION WOULD EAT YOU!" while Boodle mutters, "HMPH! YOU'RE STILL ALIVEI" Luffy responds with a simple "HUHI"

Luffy stares with a serious expression. Nami is grabbed from behind by a large bearded pirate who yells, "I OUGHTA KILL YOU RIGHT NOW, BEFORE YOU CAN GET A CREW AND GO PILLAGE SOME TOWN!" Luffy shouts back, "NOW, SIMMER DOWN!" Nami struggles and retorts, "YOU DON'T STAND A CHANCE AGAINST ME!" while the pirate growls. In the background Luffy calls out, "CALM DOWN! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!I" as Nami demands, "THEN LET'S HAVE IT OUT RIGHT NOW!!!" The large pirate looms angrily. Luffy and Nami then notice something and turn toward a ruined street where smoke rises from debris. A hand reaches down to pick up a "PET FOOD" box as the dog Chouchou stares with a speech bubble reading "!" and the box lands with a "PLUNK!"

Luffy sits on the ground and offers the pet food box to Chouchou, saying, "THAT'S ALL I COULD SAVE FOR YOU, BOY!" Chouchou replies, "THE REST GOT EATEN, OR BURNED..." Luffy smiles widely and praises, "YOU DID GOOD! YOU FOUGHT WELL!" while adding, "HE FOUGHT THAT LION... FOR THE DOG'S SAKE!!" Nami watches with a tearful expression. Chouchou eats from the box making "ULP!" and "SHUF SHUF" sounds as Luffy laughs beside him. The dog then walks away down the street with the box, leaving Luffy and Nami behind.

Luffy grins and waves, "GOOD LUCK TO YOU, TOO!" Chouchou runs off carrying the pet food box, barking "RUFF!" Nami smiles and says, "HMPH..." as the dog continues down the street with more "RUFF!!!" barks. Suddenly Buggy appears in a dramatic close-up, shouting, "TEATIME'S OVER, KIDDIES! WE'RE GOING TO LIGHT UP THIS TOWN!! UNTIL THERE'S NOTHING LEFT!!! READY MY SPECIAL BUGGY BALLS!!!" A crew member responds, "MOHJI WAS DEFEATED!I" and another adds, "'AT'S RIGHT, CAP'N!"
