A wide landscape panel shows a devastated battlefield with smoke rising from ruined structures. A voice asks, "DO YOU KNOW WHO ACTUALLY CONTROLS THIS COUNTRY... FROM THE SHADOWSI" Another warns, "IF YOU'RE ON VACATION HERE, I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO LEAVE. THE MEMBERS OF THE WORST GENERATION ARE FACING OFF..." In the next panel Luffy, wearing a dark cloak, yells angrily while gripping a sword, "I CAME HERE TO KICK THAT EMPEROR'S ASS!!" Kin'emon replies, "KIN'EMON TOLD US NOT TO SAY THAT... HEY, LUFFY!" Luffy continues, "IT'S KAIDOU, RIGHT!I" Kin'emon insists, "I WAS LYING! I ACTUALLY DON'T KNOW, EITHER!!" A close-up reveals Basil Hawkins holding tarot-like cards, stating "IS 19%. AT THE END OF THIS MONTH... THE PROBABILITY OF YOU BEING ALIVE..." as he sweats and a dragon-like creature growls nearby. Text identifies him as "ONE OF THE WORST GENERATION BASIL HAWKINS BOUNTY: 320 MILLION".

Kin'emon holds his sword and asks Luffy, "IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A WORLD-RENOWNED SWORD, RIGHT-GOZARUI" Luffy replies, "HMI" Kin'emon continues, "NO, I'M SERIOUS. IT REALLY DOES HAVE THE AURA OF A WORLD-RENOWNED SWORD. LET ME HOLD IT FOR A SECOND... BY THE WAY, WHERE DID YOU GET THAT SWORDI" Luffy answers, "...NO, I'M SERIOUS." The scene erupts into chaos as Luffy, now in a straw hat and spotted outfit, leaps forward shouting "GOMU GOMU NO...!!!" while swinging a sword. Kin'emon yells, "HEY, I JUST WANNA BORROW IT FOR A BIT. YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE A SWORD ANYWAY... DON'T THROW THE SHEATH AWAY!!!" An enemy shouts, "COME AT ME, YOU BASTAAAARDS!!!" and "GET 'EM!" A large impact SFX "ごしゅん" explodes as Luffy clashes with foes. An ally warns, "NAH, IT'LL BE FINE. I'M GONNA CUT THEM-GOZARU!!!"

A massive fist labeled PISTOL!!! smashes forward as a voice yells, "YOU JUST USED YOUR PISTOL PUNCH!!!" Luffy, wide-eyed and startled, watches a lizard-like creature lunge at him while shouting, "EVEN THAT LIZARD IS TRYING TO BITE ME." The beast snaps its jaws with a loud SHAAAA!!! and the impact sound バウン rings out. Luffy is grabbed mid-air by the creature's claws as it roars SHA AAA AAA AAAH!!! and he yells back, "YOU BASTARD!!!"

The long-haired fighter draws his sword with a rustling SFX as straw rustles. He pierces the writhing lizard creature with the blade, shouting "WARABIDE* SWORD...!!!" The monster howls GYAAO OOOOH!!! and PIERCE!!! echoes. Luffy stares in shock, exclaiming, "...IT WAS MY FAULT THAT THE LIZARD GOT....!!!" and asks, "WHAT'S UP WITH THAT SWORD!I" while a slithering sound continues nearby. A footnote explains the ancient fern-shoot sword wordplay.

The long-haired fighter slashes powerfully, sending the lizard flying with GYAA AAAH!!! sounds and a heavy THUD. Luffy reacts with "WHATII" and "HUHI" as the creature crashes down. The fighter calmly notes, "AS EXPECTED OF YOU....!" In a sudden reversal the long-haired man is struck hard, his eyes widening as he gasps "LIFE-MINUS... IN AN INSTANT!!" while Luffy shouts "WOW...!" amid the chaos of impact lines and debris.

The long-haired fighter explains his power: "MY STRAW-STRAW FRUIT* LETS ME HOLD THESE CLONES INSIDE OF ME." He continues, "THESE STRAW MEN REPRESENT MY SUBORDINATES." and "WHICH MEANS THAT... I REMAIN UNDAMAGED!!" Below, a massive lion-like beast emerges from his body as he declares, "I'M NOT HONOURABLE ENOUGH TO SIMPLY FIGHT TWO OF THE WORST GENERATION HEAD-ON!!" and "WELL, START WITH MY STRAW MAN'S CARD. NOW... LET'S START OUR LITTLE GAME, SHALL WE...!I" Onlookers react with "WOAH!! SOMETHING CAME OUT OF HIM!!" and "!I" while the beast towers over the scene.

Luffy stares in shock at the reversed cards as the game begins. "...Curses... It's my friendly fire card. The fool card in reverse." Hawkins licks his lips with a sly grin. "A gameI He's tougher than I thought... but that's to be expected...!!!" The blonde man draws again. "Sorry... I'll draw a good card next time... These cards can be a little risky, but... I have some... that give an individual the ability to surpass their limits...!!!" Suddenly the massive spotted dog rears up in a frenzy, shaking violently. "UWAA AAAH!!! HAAAA AAAH!!!" "HEEEEEEY!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING, DOG!!I" "WOOF!! WOOF!! WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING!I" The ground trembles as the beast charges forward.

The massive dog lifts and reverses the Hierophant card. "KYO KYO KYO KYO!!!" The beast lunges forward in pursuit. "TAMA!! THIS FEVER IS INSANE!!!" Luffy and the others cling on desperately. "I drew a good card... Don't get so flustered...!!!" "THEY'RE ESCAPING!!! HAWKINS-SAN!!" Hawkins remains calm. "This is the card of pursuit!!!" The giant creature barrels ahead with terrifying speed. "PROTECT THE KID!! I'LL TAKE CARE OF THIS GUY!!!" A swordsman yells as the dog smashes through the terrain.

The enormous beast smashes forward, scattering cards everywhere. "SAMON!!!" Hawkins' nails fly like projectiles. "NAILS!!!I" The swordsman is struck. "UWAA AAAH!!!" Luffy protects the child in his arms. "ZORO!!" The blonde man watches coldly. "SH-SHALL WE KEEP CHASING THEM!I HAWKINS-SAN!!" The creature roars and slashes wildly. "KYAO00000H!!! SLASH!!!" Hawkins' eyes narrow as the chase intensifies.

The group escapes as the Hierophant card activates. "IT'S A SUPPORT CARD. THE HIEROPHANT CARD. THIS MEANS SOMEONE IS GOING TO HELP THEM ESCAPE." Tsurujo appears, kneeling gracefully. "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WERE ABLE TO FIGHT OFF HAWKINS...!!!" "HUUUH!!I WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!I" "OH MY GOODNESS, YOU TWO ARE VERY STRONG SAMURAI...!!!" She smiles. "Earlier, I was saved by Sir Green. My name is Tsuru." The woman continues, "I may be overstepping my boundaries, but... that child... isn't she O-Tama-chan from Amigasa Village...I Do you know her!I In that case, instead of finding a doctor, please bring her to my tea house...!!! As I thought, she must have drank the river water...!!!" A sign reads "TEA HOUSE OWNER O-TSURU".

In snowy Okobore Town, an elderly man in a spotted kimono kneels and corrects the situation: "YOU'VE GOT IT WRONG! WE'RE GOING TO BOIL A MEDICINAL HERB, EFFECTIVE AGAINST THE RIVER'S POISON, TO GIVE TO HER." He adds, "I WILL SHOW YOU THE WAY." A woman beside him complains, "WHY WOULD WE GO AND DRINK TEA AT A TIME LIKE THISI" while noting, "NOT THAT I KNOW WHO THIS KID IS, THOUGH." Luffy, wide-eyed and smiling, bows gratefully in close-up: "I SEE!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH... FOR HELPING US!!" The elderly man offers, "LET ME TEND TO YOUR WOUNDS AS WELL, SIR GREEN...!!" and a woman in a kimono pleads, "PLEASE, LET ME REPAY YOU...!!" In the wide snowy vista of Kuri, the sumo wrestler Urashima leans in with a heart and declares, "HMMMI O-KIKU... LET ME HELP YOU OUT... YOU CAN'T PAY YOUR RENT, RIGHTI LET ME MAKE YOU MY WIFE! YOU'LL NEVER HAVE TO WORK AGAIN! YOU'LL BE ABLE TO EAT THE DELICIOUS FOOD FROM THE FARM EVERY DAY, AND YOU'LL NEVER GET HUNGRY AGAIN!!" A sign reads "WANO COUNTRY: KURI OKOBORE TOWN, THE TOWN OF LEFTOVERS."

O-Kiku stands tall in her kimono, firmly rejecting the offer: "I DON'T WANT ANY OF THIS SHOP'S FOOD!!" She continues, "MY SOCIAL STANDING IS DIFFERENT FROM YOURS. IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO PLACE AN ORDER, I'M GOING TO HAVE TO ASK YOU TO LEAVE." A sign identifies her as "TEA HOUSE POSTER GIRL O-KIKU." The shopkeeper protests, "HEY, HAVEN'T YOU HEARD OF MEI I'M THE YOKOZUNA FROM THE CAPITAL!! THE DUMPLINGS, THE TEA... EVERYTHING HERE IS MADE WITH LEFTOVERS!!" Urashima bursts forward with a dramatic pose, shouting, "I'M WANO COUNTRY'S STRONGEST SUMO WRESTLER, URASHIMA!!!"

Tsurujo hurries off, calling, "HURRY! GO AND BOIL SOME JYAGAN GRASS FOR ME!!" while muttering, "TCH... THAT NUISANCE IS..." A distant figure yells, "AH! O-TSURU-SAN!!" and O-Kiku's scream echoes, "O-KIKU-CHAAAAA AAAAAN!!" with sound effects "どたどた どたっ". O-Kiku clutches her face in panic: "THAT'S TERRIBLE! I'LL GO MAKE IT IMMEDIATELY!!" as a woman cries, "KYAAH! O-TAMA-CHAN DRANK THE RIVER'S POISON!!" In the final panels, Law's crew reacts near a mountain. Bepo asks, "SHOULD WE GO OVER CALL THEM BEFORE THEY CAUSE TROUBLE!I" while Law notes, "AREN'T THOSE... THE STRAW HATS!I" and warns Bepo, "YOU STAND OUT TOO MUCH, BEPO!" A box states "ON TOP OF A CERTAIN MOUNTAIN..." The page ends with "ONE PIECE CH. 913 /END" and a note about Weekly Shonen Jump's break.
