From Hell to Hell

Inside the stone halls of Impel Down Level 2, Floor of Demon Beasts, several guards stand before a massive collapsed archway. Speech bubbles read: "WHAT IS STRAWHAT LUFFY TRYING TO DO!I", "... THIS HOLE IS DEFINITELY BIG ENOUGH FOR THE SPHINX TO HAVE FALLEN THROUGH!!", "WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HEREI", and "MONITOR ROOM!! WE'VE ARRIVED AT THE SCENE ON LEVEL 2!! CAN YOU SEE ANYTHINGI". Large sound effects "ゴォオオオオ..." rumble through the rubble. A caption box states "Impel Down Level 2, Floor of Demon Beasts". Below, a close-up shows a sweating guard captain with sunglasses and a peaked cap saying "EH...". Nearby striped-uniform guards react with shock "!!I" and "GIII...!!" as chains rattle and a gate looms ahead.

In the monitor room, panicked guards shout: "IS THIS STRAWHAT'S DOING, TOO!I THE GUARDS ARE IN DANGER!!", "THE PRISONERS ON LEVEL 2 HAVE GOTTEN OUT OF THEIR CELLS!!! HOW DID THEY OPEN THE LOCKS!I", "...!! HEY, LOOK! THIS IS BAD!!", and "THIS IS LEVEL 2!!". One guard yells into a speaker: "SEND REINFORCEMENTS IMMEDIATELY!!". Prisoners including a large man with a spiked club and another with wild hair cheer "HE'S OUR SAVIOR!!!" and "OUR RESPECT AND GRATITUDE GO TO CAPTAIN BUGGY!!!". The scene erupts into a massive riot as dozens of prisoners swarm the guards, chains flying, mouths open in roars. A huge speech bubble declares "THE PRISONERS ARE RIOTING!!!".

Guards react in horror: "FLEET ADMIRAL SENGOKU FROM HEADQUARTERS SAID THAT THERE'S NO DOUBT ABOUT IT...!!!!", "YOU KNOW!I HOW...I", "HEY!! I KNOW WHAT STRAWHAT LUFFY IS AFTER!!", and "SEND THE BLUGORI TO LEVEL 2!!!". A wanted poster of Portgas D. Ace is shown alongside one of Monkey D. Luffy. One guard exclaims "ARE BROTHERS!!!" while another identifies "PORTGAS D. ACE, AND THE MAN WE'RE HOLDING UNDER MAXIMUM SECURITY UNTIL HIS EXECUTION, THE INTRUDER, MONKEY D. LUFFY". Further dialogue reveals: "WE'VE BEEN PRE-OCCUPIED WITH A POSSIBLE ATTACK FROM WHITEBEARD... IF HE WERE TO ACTUALLY DESCEND FROM HELL... THE SITUATION WOULD BE COMPLETELY REVERSED...!!!!", "... THAT'S WHY HE'S ACTUALLY DESCENDING FROM HELL...!!!!", "RIGHT!! THERE'S NO MISTAKE...!!", and "SO HE'S TRYING TO BREAK FIRE FIST ACE OUT OF PRISON BEFORE THE PUBLIC EXECUTION!!!". A sphinx-like creature is shown in a small panel as orders are given to inform Chief Warden Magellan.

At Marine Headquarters in the Grand Line, a massive laugh echoes across the building: FUWAHA-HAHAHA-HAHAHAHA!! Inside, Fleet Admiral Sengoku and Vice Admiral Garp react to the chaos. Sengoku exclaims, "FIRST ENIES LOBBY, AND THEN THE TENRYUUBITO INCIDENT!! THIS IS ALL COMPLETELY UNPRECEDENTED!!!" He continues, "IN THE MIDST OF THIS SITUATION THAT WILL SHAKE ALL THE SEAS OF THE WORLD... THAT IDIOT GOES AND ACTUALLY MAKES IT WORSE...!!!" Garp laughs heartily, "WAHAHA-HAHA!!" while someone nearby shouts, "WHAT DO YOU FIND FUNNY ABOUT THIS, GARP!I" A narration box notes, "*GOLD TIGER". Magellan appears in close-up, declaring, "NOT A SINGLE ONE HAS SUCCESSFULLY ESCAPED! AND NOBODY IN THE HISTORY OF THE PRISON HAS SUCCESSFULLY INFILTRATED IT EITHER!! THE IRON WALLS OF THE GREAT PRISON IMPEL DOWN HAVE HELD!!! TWENTY YEARS AGO... WE FAILED WHEN THE FLYING PIRATE KINJISHI* ESCAPED... BUT THESE PAST 20 YEARS, OF THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PRISONERS HELD THERE..."

Sengoku roars at Garp, "IS YOUR GRANDSON AGAIN, GARP!!! HE'S DONE IT AGAIN!! THAT'S MY GRANDSON FOR YA!!" while pointing accusingly. Garp laughs wildly. Sengoku continues, "AND THE MAN SPITTING ON THAT GOOD NAME, THE FIRST INTRUDER EVER." He adds, "YOU CAN'T TRUST WHAT A SHICHIBUKAI SAYS...!!! BUT HOW DID HE GET THROUGH OUR PERIMETER...!I" and "DAMN YOU, BARTHOLOMEW KUMA...!! YOU SAID THAT YOU FINISHED OFF THE STRAWHAT PIRATES AT SHABONDY ARCHIPELAGO...!!! I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN...!!!" Garp laughs again, "WAHAHAHA! I THINK THIS SITUATION HAS GOTTEN A BIT TOO BIG. FOR AN OLD MAN'S LIFE TO ATONE FOR IT! BUWAHAHAHA-HAHA!!!" Sengoku threatens, "IF YOU WEREN'T THE 'HERO OF THE MARINES,' I'D HAVE YOU TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY, GARP!!!"

The scene shifts to Impel Down, Level 3. The ground steams violently with large SFX "ドドド!!!" and cries of "HOT HOT HOT!!! THE GROUND IS LIKE A FRYING PAN!" A sign marks "Impel Down, Level 3" and "Current Location". Luffy appears sweating heavily, muttering "むあぁぁ... AND IT'S EERILY QUIET...!!! IT SURE IS HOT." Nearby, Mr. 3 (Galdino) complains, "... THIS PLACE IS REALLY BAD... FOR ME WITH MY WAX POWERS..." while Buggy yells, "AH, THE LION'S OUT. STRAWHAT, YOU DRAGGED ME DOWN WITH YOU AGAIN!!!" A prisoner shouts, "WHAT A PLACE I'VE COME TO...!!!" Luffy stands amid the heat with prisoners in striped uniforms.

Prisoners react in panic on Level 3. One yells, "LOOK INSIDE THE CELLS." Another says, "I'D SAY A BIRD FROM ABOVE WANDERED INTO THE HOLE AND GOT BURNED UP..." A third exclaims, "THAT'S TOO HOT!!!" Luffy and Buggy stare as a charred object falls, with cries of "THAT'S RIDICULOUS!" and "UWAH!! A GRILLED BIRD FELL DOWN!!" SFX include "ドドド!!!" and "シュワン". Deeper in the cells, chained prisoners discuss: "WAS ONCE A NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL WITH A BOUNTY REDUCED TO OVER 50 MILLION!" "BUT EVERYONE HERE ON LEVEL 3..." "THEY BARELY EVEN HAVE SHADOWS LEFT..." Magellan appears sweating, explaining, "THEY'RE QUICKLY REDUCED TO THE HALF DEAD THINGS YOU SEE BEFORE YOU. HEAT FROM THE FLOOR BELOW US, THE BURNING HELL, RISES, AND THE PRISONERS ARE TORTURED BY THE LACK OF WATER AND FOOD." A diagram shows levels 2-5.

The group stares up at the massive stone chamber filled with hanging chains and empty cells. A voice declares, "THIS IS LEVEL 3, THE STARVATION HELL!!!" Another warns, "IF WE WASTE ANY TIME HERE... WE'LL BECOME LIKE THEM IN A HEARTBEAT...!!!" Three prisoners stand below the massive wooden beam. Luffy shouts, "HELL NO!!!" Bon Clay yells, "THEN LET'S HURRY TO LEVEL 4!!" while a bound prisoner adds, "WHILE WE CAN STILL SWEAT...!!!" and another says, "WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE..." A close-up shows a sweating prisoner gulping, "ごくり..."

A guard shouts into a Den Den Mushi, "THEY ARE IN POSITION, PULL THE NET!" while another voice questions, "DOES HAPPINESS CHANGE YOUR MEMORIES OR SOMETHING!!!I" and a third insists, "I NEVER SAID THAT!! NOT AT ALL!!" Someone calls, "COME ON, LEAD THE WAY! YOU BOTH SAID YOU'D HELP ME SAVE ACE!" Luffy stares in shock with wide eyes. A figure in a hat says, "FINE, I'LL GO BY MYSELF." Suddenly a massive steel net drops from above, trapping several figures. Voices cry out, "WHAT!!I" "DAMN!!! IT'S A TRAP!!! THEY GOT US!!!" and "OWAAAH!!!" as debris flies.

Trapped inside the net, voices panic: "THERE'S SOME HORRIBLE TORTURE WAITING FOR US FOR TRYING TO ESCAPE!" "DAMN IT!!! IT'S GOT KAIROUSEKI IN IT TOO..." and "...!! IT'S A STEEL NET!!!" The guards and Blugori arrive. Someone yells, "THE GUARDS... AND THE BLUGORI ARE HERE!!" "GIVE IT UP, BUGGY...!!! WE'RE ALREADY CAUGHT..." "IS THAT ALL WE ARE!!I" and "THE INTRUDER STRAWHAT LUFFY AND THE OTHER TWO HAVE BEEN CAPTURED." A voice orders, "PUT THE KAIROUSEKI HANDCUFFS ON THEM!!" while another curses, "SHIT! OPEN THIS NET!!" Below, Saldeath appears and is recognized: "I AM... SALDEATH*!!" Luffy reacts with shock as the small guard commander stands before them.

Head Guard Saldeath stands with his trident, declaring, "IN THIS ISOLATED SEA FLOOR PRISON, ACCEPT YOUR FATE!! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!" and "THERE WAS NEVER ANYWHERE TO ESCAPE TO." His title box reads "Head Guard Saldeath (Blugori Commander)". He continues, "JUST BE GLAD THAT I WAS THE ONE TO CATCH YOU." Prisoners sweat in fear as one notes, "THAT'S TRUE... I'D HATE TO RUN INTO THEM, OR THE CHIEF WARDEN..." Below the floor, the four beast guards lurk. Saldeath's underlings react with "... AH, HEAD GUARD!!" and sounds "PACHI..." "VUORURU..." "REIMEN..." while Saldeath glares, "...!!!"

The massive Sphinx, trapped in a heavy net, suddenly awakens with a furious roar. Its eyes snap open as it thrashes violently. "VUORO-RORO-ROOOOHH!!!" The beast bellows, shattering parts of the net. Guards panic below. "THE SPHINX WOKE UP!!!" someone shouts. "WE CAN'T LET THOSE THREE ESCAPE... ESPECIALLY NOT STRAWHAT LUFFY!!!" a hooded figure warns. "THIS IS BAD...!!! HE MIGHT BREAK THE NET!" The Sphinx breaks free further, roaring louder. "VUORU-RURURU-AAH!!!" It smashes downward as smaller figures flee. "SOUP SUPA!!!" "UWAAAH...!!! ALL RIGHT!!!" the guards cry out in terror.

Luffy bursts through the chaos, leaping amid explosions and debris. "VUORU" echoes as the Sphinx rampages behind him. "GYAAAH!!" a guard screams. Luffy grins mid-air. "GREAT!! NOW WE CAN ESCAPE!!!" He lands and stretches his arms. "GOMU GOMU..." In the next instant he launches forward. "GET HIM!!!" the guards yell as the Sphinx and other beasts close in, jaws snapping.

Luffy unleashes a rapid barrage. "GATLING"!!! His fists blur in a storm of punches, smashing the Sphinx and guards alike. "DOWAA AHH!!!" the beast howls amid impact lines. Below, Luffy runs across the broken net. "RIGHT... THE HEAT'S MADE MY BODY...!!!" he mutters. "THEY CLIMBED UP THERE ON THE BROKEN NET....!!!" a guard realizes. "HURRY, MISTER 3!!" Luffy looks around. "HUH...!I WHERE'D THEY...!I" Sweat drops fly as he spots more threats. "HAA... HAA...!!!"

Luffy keeps moving while voices echo around him. "OHH!! SEE YOU LATER!! THANKS FOR TAKING ME THIS FAR!!!" someone calls. "FUHAHAHAHA, YOU FINALLY TURNED INTO A FINE DISTRACTION FOR US!! IDIOT!!!" another laughs. "GIVE MY REGARDS TO ACE, IF YOU EVEN SEE HIM!!! TELL HIM THAT WE'LL GET A DRINK IF HE SURVIVES!!!" a third shouts. "GYAAHA-HAHA, STRAWHAT!!" The Sphinx lunges again. "DON'T BE CARELESS!! HE'S GOT A 300 MILLION BOUNTY!" a guard warns. Luffy dodges desperately. "CRAP, HE'S STILL HERE!!" The beast roars once more. "VUORU-RURU-RURU!!!"

Luffy leaps through the air with a fierce expression, fist raised as massive jaws and claws lunge at him from every side. "HOH!!" "HAH!!" he shouts amid the chaos. A huge beast-like figure with an enormous eye and sharp teeth snaps at him while smaller creatures swarm below. "DONCANGON ♪" plays in the background. Guards yell from the stairs, "HE'S TRYING TO ESCAPE!! AFTER HIM!!!" and "STAIRS, WHERE ARE THOSE STAIRS!I" Luffy plummets down the stairwell, arms flailing, "GU-WAAAAH!!" as he crashes through railings. "WHY, YOU!!" someone roars while another cries "UHOH!I" amid the tumbling debris and impact lines.

Bon Clay, covered in sweat and chained, gasps on the floor, "HAA... TH... THIS IS PROBABLY FAR ENOUGH..." and "IT'S... SO HOT...!!!" Nearby prisoners mutter about the blocked stairs. The striped prisoner sings "UN, DEUX, ONDORYAAAA♪" and "UN, DEUX, KURAA♪" while another voice asks "WHAT'S WITH THE SINGING...I" and "HMI" The song grows louder as the massive stone gate of Impel Down looms ahead. Crowds of prisoners cheer wildly, "OKAAMAAA~ WAAAAY♪" "AWE-SOME!!!" "AWE-SOME!!!" "AWE-SOME!!!" filling the air with excitement as the okama performance echoes through the prison yard.

Bon Clay belts out the final note, "OKAAA-MAAA~ WAAAAAY♪ (HARMONY)" with mouth wide open as fellow prisoners join in. "OH!! IS THAT MISTER 3!I NGHAHA-HAHAHA!" someone shouts. Mr. 3 spins wildly on a platform, "SPIN SPIN, JUST LIKE THIS DIZZYING TIME!!" "WELL DONE!!!" Prisoners react in shock, "I'M SO SURPRISED THAT I NEED TO LOOK AGAIN!! OKAMA KENPOU, 'I DREAM OF THAT AUTUMN NIGHT ONCE AGAIN!'" Mr. 3 panics from behind bars, "WAIT WAIT WAIT, WHY ARE YOU OUT THERE!!!I YOU'RE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BARS, SO YOU WERE CAUGHT!!!I NO, WAIT, I'M THE ONE WHO'S IN PRISON!!!" "WHAAAA!!I MISTER 3!!I" Luffy stares in surprise as the chaos unfolds.
