Masked Deuce sits writing intently in his book with a quill, "GROOOWL" and "GROOOWL" sound effects emerging from the pages. Torn narration scraps read: "AND ON THIS ISLAND LOCATED IN THE EASTERN SEA ANOTHER VICTIM HAD WASHED ASHORE...", "THAT TRAPPED ANYONE WHO WOULD DARE APPROACH: MUCH LIKE AN 'ANTLION OF THE SEA'", "THE ISLAND WAS SURROUNDED BY UNIQUE CURRENTS", and "PASSING SAILORS WERE GRABBED BY ITS PINCERS". A massive rocky island formation towers in the next panel. Deuce pauses, sweat drop visible, and mutters "MAYBE 'VICTIM' IS TOO STRONG OF A WORD... HMM..." while continuing to write.

Masked Deuce slams his book shut with a "SLAM" effect, looking frustrated. Speech bubbles read "I'M SO HUNGRY THAT I CAN'T THINK STRAIGHT... IT'S NO USE." and "I NEVER THOUGHT I'D END UP WRITING ON A DESERTED ISLAND". On the beach, waves crash violently with "ギャアア" and "ザザザ" SFX as he sits alone. A young man with long light hair reads from an open book, its pages marked with large B letters. Narration from the book declares, "THAT WILL SHAKE THE WORLD TO ITS CORE...." and "ONE DAY, WITHOUT A DOUBT, I'LL WRITE MY OWN ADVENTURE BOOK." The scene shifts to a wrecked ship on a rocky shore. In a close-up, a dark-haired man in a large hat with goggles on the brim and a beaded necklace stares intensely, sweat on his face, reacting with "HMI" A wide panel shows the wrecked ship broken apart with "DROM" effects as the hatted man stands on the beach and shouts, "FINALLY, A GOOD PLACE TO SET SAIL!" and "AHA! SO THE SHORE WAS THIS WAY...." The blond man in the coat reacts with shock, "!!"

Ace, shirtless and muscular with his signature hat, necklace, and open coat, adjusts his hat while exclaiming, "I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE...." and reacts with surprise, "!!" "!II" as a small skull-faced creature appears nearby. He notices, "OH, THERE'S SOMEONE ELSE HERE." Below, the shipwreck scene continues. Deuce sits on the broken hull and says, "THAT THING DOESN'T EVEN HAVE RIBS ATTACHED TO THE KEEL" and "WE'LL GET SWALLOWED UP BY EVEN THE TINIEST OF WAVES!" Ace replies confidently, "I'M NOT WORRIED, EVEN IF IT SINKS" and "WE CAN SWIM BACK AGAIN." Deuce suggests, "HOW ABOUT YOU JOIN ME IN SAILING ON THAT SHIPI" while Ace calls it "A GREAT OPPORTUNITY." Deuce adds, "NO WAY ARE YOU HERE TO RESCUE ME...." A person in the background asks, "A PERSONI" Ace introduces himself: "I FOUND MYSELF SWALLOWED UP BY THE WAVES AND ENDED UP ON THIS ISLAND.... VERY NICE TO MEET YOU, MY NAME IS ACE." Deuce reacts in horror, "GOD DAMMIT, NOT YOU TOO!!" while staring at the ship labeled "SHIP... THAT COFFIN IS YOUR SHIPI"

Ace grins widely and points while asking Deuce, "ARE YOU A SHIPWRIGHT OR SOMETHINGI" and "TO KNOW ALL THAT BY JUST GLANCING AT IT!" Deuce, looking skeptical, replies, "MAN, YOU'RE AMAZING!" and notes, "AT LEAST MAKE THE PIECES OF WOOD LONG ENOUGH TO COVER UP THE CRACKS...." In a mountainous jungle setting, Ace declares, "THAT'S NOTHING TO BE PROUD OF!!" Deuce responds, "OH, I DON'T...." and warns, "NO, YOU SHOULD KNOW AT LEAST THIS MUCH IF YOU WANT TO SET SAIL." Ace excitedly runs ahead, "FOLLOW ME! I'LL SHOW YOU AROUND!" with a musical note, while Deuce yells, "HEY!! LISTEN TO ME!!" Deuce explains, "THERE'S A COVE NOT FAR FROM HERE WHERE THE CURRENTS WON'T BE HELPFUL WHATSOEVER...." Ace sits and insists, "GIVE ME A HAND, WILL YAI" and "WELL, LET'S BUILD A SHIP TO GET OFF THE ISLAND." Deuce warns about the currents as Ace cheers, "YOU'LL BE A GREAT HELP!" Deuce reacts with shock, "WHAT!"

Deuce, wearing his mask, confronts Ace and states, "BY THE WAY, YOU HAVEN'T STILL TOLD ME YOUR NAME." Ace smiles from behind him. A large sword is shown embedded in the ground. Deuce continues, "I DITCHED MY REAL NAME, ALONG WITH MY FACE." and "AH, HENCE THE MASK." He adds, "I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR A GOOD PEN NAME...." and "I HAD NO IDEA THIS PLACE EXISTED...." while Ace runs along a patterned structure asking, "PEN NAMEI" The final wide panel reveals a massive dragon-headed shipwreck lodged dramatically between rocky cliffs, bathed in radiant light beams from above. Ace and Deuce stand together on a cliff overlooking the colossal vessel, its ornate carvings and broken masts visible against the bright sky.

The masked youth with white hair complains, "I looked around, couldn't even find a cracker." The hat-wearing young man replies, "Shouldn't there be some leftover rations hereI" and adds, "I want to be a writer..." They gather wood and supplies. The hat-wearing youth grins while holding a log, "I gathered all of the useful stuff." The masked youth questions a strange object, "What is this forI" The hat-wearing youth excitedly declares, "With those, you can even get drunk with fresh water!" and "PARTY-ING!" A large impact SFX "ズラッ" and "OOOH!" accompany the wood being tested. Narration boxes explain, "The wood he found was solid and sturdy," "There was something else... This unique aura about him...," and "While his flattery certainly didn't hurt his case... That motivated me to help with building the ship." Later, the masked youth carries a charred log, asking, "When the surface of wood is charred and carbonized..." The hat-wearing youth shouts, "HEY! What are you doing with all the stuff I worked so hard to gatherI!"

The young man in the hat explains while holding a log over a fire, "I began learning from 'Brag Men'." The masked youth asks, "Where did you learn all thatI" The hat-wearing youth continues, "Building a fire is a lot of work, though. It becomes resistant to water and fire, and much more durable." The masked youth reacts with surprise, "WOW..." Close-ups show the masked youth sweating and exclaiming "PUHAH AHAHA HA" with a large laugh SFX, then asking, "'BRAG MEN'I" He later states confidently, "I read the logbook and ship blueprints in detail. So now I know every bit of information, useful or not." The hat-wearing youth watches the fire with a stick.

A flashback shows the masked youth as a child reading, with an old man shouting, "WAKE UP, YOU IDIOT!!" and "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS GIANTS!" while a boy holds a book and another figure protests. The child masked youth asks, "Oh, I read a long time ago, 'Little Garden', where giants live..." and "How old are youI Do you really still believe in that book of liesI" Back in the present under the stars, the young man in the hat sits on the ground, grinning widely and pointing forward, "HEHE, SOUNDS FUN. Depending on our course, we might stumble upon it."

The masked youth asks, "Speaking of giants... Have you heard the legend of the continent pullerI" He continues, "My grandpa used to tell me a tale... About a man bigger than giants. I've heard that his descendants..." Narration boxes detail their struggles: "OUR MAIN PROBLEM WAS TIME," "THE HUNGER DID NOT JUST WEAKEN US. IT ATE AWAY AT OUR SOULS," "DO NOT HAVE MANY DAYS TO COMPLETE THEIR TASK," and "SLOWLY, GRADUALLY, BIT BY BIT." They continue building the ship. The hat-wearing youth smiles while carrying a large log, "We managed to find some fresh water." Another box states, "WITHOUT FOOD FORCED TO BUILD A SHIP BUT TWO GROWN ADULTS."

Flashback panels show a younger Ace working tirelessly on a ship. Narration reads: "HE NEVER WHINED NOR TOOK BREAKS" and "ON THE OTHER HAND, ACE NEVER STOPPED WORKING...". Ace, wearing his signature beaded hat and dark outfit, strains while carrying heavy loads as sound effects like "あぁ" and "ゴゴゴ" emphasize his effort. In the present on the island, Ace and Deuce struggle through harsh conditions. Ace shouts encouragement: "IF YOU PASS OUT, ALL IS LOST!!" while Deuce replies weakly, "SORRY" amid heavy breathing "HUFF HUFF". Deuce collapses, thinking "MY BODY WAS GROWING WEAK" and "JUST ONE BITE...". Ace questions from afar, "HEY, YOU OKAY THEREI!". Later panels show Deuce examining a small creature and wondering, "ANYTHING EDIBLE..." and "HOW IS HE... IS HE REALLY HUMANI". The page ends with a dramatic close-up of Deuce's intense eyes and the caption "THREE DAYS LATER" as the scene shifts to a stormy, debris-filled landscape.

The storm rages on. Ace and Deuce stand amid wreckage. Deuce mutters, "GOD-DAMNIT..." and "WE LOOKED AWAY FOR JUST ONE SECOND...". Ace wonders, "THIS STORM... IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE TO HAVE SUCH BAD LUCKI". Deuce, exhausted and injured, yells, "I HAVE NO STRENGTH LEFT!" and "UNLIKE YOU, I HAVEN'T EATEN ANYTHING!!" while Ace responds, "WE CAN'T JUST DO THAT!!". A massive wave of debris crashes down with loud SFX "ドドドドド" and "バリバリ". Deuce questions in shock, "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUTI". Ace, clenching his fist, declares, "WE'LL JUST BUILD ANOTHER..." and "WELL, NO BIGGIE". The sequence shows the two being battered by the environment as they try to survive.

Deuce confronts Ace on the beach during the downpour. Deuce demands, "WHO RUMMAGED THROUGH THIS SHIP HEREI" and "THERE WAS A SAFE FULL OF FOOD THAT HAD BEEN RECENTLY TAMPERED WITH". Ace replies, "I SAW IT!" and "THERE ARE NO ANIMALS AROUND". Deuce grabs Ace by the collar with a club in hand, shouting, "AND WE'RE THE ONLY ONES ON THIS ISLAND!". Ace remains calm as tension rises. Smaller panels show close-ups of the damaged ship hatch and Deuce's face. Ace finally answers, "I DON'T KNOW." The confrontation escalates with motion lines and impact effects as Deuce's anger peaks.

Ace stands with his back turned as a small bird-like creature flies away with a startled "ハッ...!!". Deuce watches with a serious expression. Ace adjusts his hat, revealing a determined look. Deuce reflects in narration: "THOUGH... NO, HE MUST'VE BETRAYED ME... HOW ELSE WOULD HE HAVE BEEN ABLE..." and "WAS IT RIGHT TO HIT HIMI I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN I WAS GOING TO BE LET DOWN." He continues, "HINGING ON A MAN I JUST MET. I HAD ALL OF MY HOPES AND DREAMS... I'M SUCH A FOOL...". Deuce collapses to his knees in despair near a dark cave entrance as rain pours down with SFX "ザザザ..." and "ドキドキ". Ace remains standing in the rain, looking forward.

A massive bird-like monster towers over the rocky terrain, its body covered in jagged scales and feathers. The creature rears back with a thunderous ROOAR as it looms above a lone figure in a long black coat standing on the rocks below. Vertical panels on the left show a close-up of a wide eye and the words "NO WAY." The monster's head twists violently with motion lines and the SFX "Roar" visible near its jaws.

The giant bird monster is blasted apart in a massive explosion of rock and debris. A figure is hurled through the air amid flying rubble. Below, the white-haired young man in the black coat stands beside a dark-haired man in a similar coat. The white-haired man shouts, "I SAW IT!" The dark-haired man replies, "THERE WAS A SAFE FULL OF FOOD THAT HAD BEEN RECENTLY TAMPERED WITH AND WE'RE THE ONLY ONES ON THIS ISLAND!" A close-up shows the dark-haired man's intense expression with "HUFF HUFF" and "...!!" A small panel shows the monster's head tumbling down a cliff with "KU" as someone yells, "A BIRD MONSTERI!" and "I SEE... SO IT DOESN'T LIVE ON THIS ISLAND IT ONLY COMES HERE TO HUNT.."

The giant bird monster perches atop a tall wooden structure resembling a ship or bridge, wings spread wide. Below, a small figure lies on the wooden deck. In a lower panel, Portgas D. Ace, wearing his signature hat and beads, grins widely and points forward while saying, "LITTLE GARDEN", WHERE GIANTS LIVE" and "OH, I'VE READ THAT A LONG TIME AGO" and "DEPENDING ON OUR COURSE, WE MIGHT STUMBLE UPON IT. HEHE, SOUNDS FUN." Another character nearby says "HE..." In a separate panel set in a town, a man in a suit raises his arms and yells, "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS GIANTS DO YOU REALLY STILL BELIEVE IN THAT BOOK OF LIESI WAKE UP, YOU IDIOT!!" while onlookers react in the background.

A close-up shows the white-haired young man with a severe facial injury, blood streaming down as he glares intensely and declares, "DIDN'T LAUGH AT ME!!" The scene shifts to the giant bird monster being struck, its body breaking apart with large impact SFX. The white-haired man stands with his back to the viewer as debris flies. Narration text reads "AND STILL YET..." while the monster's wing and the structure are visible in the background.

Ace leaps high through the air toward a massive ruined pillar, kicking off debris as he yells at the enormous bird-like beast below, "YOU GIANT BIRD! OUTTA MY WAY". The giant creature rears back with a shocked expression, its body recoiling from the impact as chunks of stone explode outward. Smaller figures tumble through the air amid the destruction while Ace continues his aggressive ascent.

Ace delivers a powerful punch, his fist smashing into the giant bird's head with a massive "BAM" impact. The bird reels violently, its body twisting under the blow as motion lines and debris fly everywhere. Smaller panels show the creature's head snapping back and distant figures reacting with shock. Ace's determined face is visible beneath his hat as he presses the attack, the bird's eye wide in pain.

Ace clings to the broken pillar, breathing heavily with "HUFF HUFF" as a white-haired masked figure appears behind him, exclaiming "ACE...!" and later "WHY..". The giant bird lunges upward with its beak open wide, emitting a loud "GIII!!" sound. Ace swings around the pillar while the masked figure watches in surprise. The bird's massive form fills the lower panel as it attacks.

Close-up on Ace's intense face as he grips the pillar tightly, sweat and determination visible. Below, the giant bird flies away into the distance with a "GAAA" cry while two small figures stand on the ground looking up. Sound effects "DOK DOK" echo near the bird's retreating form. A final panel shows a close view of the bird's eye.

From behind, a young man in a wide-brimmed hat and tattered dark clothes stands on a rocky cliff overlooking ancient ruins as rain falls. A white-haired figure crouches in front of him. The man says, "SO I DON'T BLAME YOU FOR SUSPECTING ME." In a lower panel, a dark-haired woman with a scar glares upward, shouting, "ALL WE'LL BE LEFT WITH IS REGRETS!" and "IF WE DIE LIKE THIS..." A masked, muscular man with a pearl necklace replies in fragments, "I HA-...!" "EVER SINCE I WAS A CHILD" "YOU..." and "I'VE HAD A HABIT OF STEALING FOOD." The woman continues, "BESIDES..."

Close-up of the masked man's intense eyes as he declares, "MY ACTIONS... NO REGRETS..." and "I'VE MADE UP MY MIND." On a wooden deck, Ace sits alone until a voice calls, "HEY ACE!!" Flashback panels show a younger Ace training and being knocked back with "KHH...!!!" "A... AAAH!" The masked man tells him, "DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME" and "I'VE BEEN TRAINING... TO BECOME A PIRATE." Ace finds a large treasure chest and opens it, exclaiming, "THERE'S A BIG JUICY FRUIT!" while the masked man reacts with shock, "LOOK WHAT I FOUND!"

A giant fiery fruit with a spiral stem hovers dramatically. Ace holds it and urges, "COME ON, EAT IT ALREADY" and "WHAT LUCK!" The masked man hesitates, saying, "ALTHOUGH IT'S NOT MUCH, IT SHOULD HELP." and "JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME!" Ace spots a treasure chest and notes, "THERE'S A TREASURE CHEST..." The masked man protests, "DON'T BE SYMPATHETIC TOWARDS PIRATES!" "I'VE DONE FAR LESS WORK THAN YOU HAVE!" "YOU'RE THE ONE WHO'S DYING, BASTARD!" and "YOU'RE THE ONE THAT FOUND IT!" Ace insists, "ALSO, I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT!" "JUST EAT IT" while the masked man yells, "YOU EA...!!" A small figure in the distance shouts, "WHA- AAT!!!I" and "AREN'T YOU THE ONE THAT'S GOING TO EAT ITI"

The fiery fruit is bitten into with a massive "GROOOOWW!" explosion of energy. Ace, now covered in the fruit's remains, grins and says, "WHAT A SHARP BASTARD!" and "WE'LL SPLIT IT IN HALF AND EAT IT AT THE SAME TIME." The masked man replies, "SHE HAS MY GRATITUDE!" and "WELL, THEN... LADY LUCK HAS SMILED UPON US TODAY..." On the deck of a ruined ship, the two sit together peacefully as sunlight breaks through the clouds. Close-ups show the fruit's remains and Ace's satisfied expression.

Ace sits slumped with a heavy sigh, sweat dripping as he clutches his stomach. He suddenly jolts upright, face twisted in disgust while biting into a strange fruit, lightning-like impact lines and "TUP" "TSH" "GULP" sound effects exploding around him. Below, a blond man with a mask looks up in shock. The blond declares, "SO NOW I'VE DECIDED TO GET OFF THIS ISLAND EVEN IF IT KILLS ME!" He continues, "I REGRET... I EVEN GAVE UP ON MY DREAM... MY LIFE JUST FLASHED BEFORE MY EYES..." Ace, now wearing the hat, stares in surprise and says "HUHI" The blond adds, "WE'VE BEEN REVIVED, BUT THANKS TO IT... IT TASTES HORRIBLE." Ace points accusingly, "DON'T TELL ME YOU'VE CHANGED YOUR MIND. I THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO EAT IT AT THE SAME TIME!I" The blond kneels, hand on his chest, replying, "EVER DOUBTING YOU."

Ace grimaces while holding the half-eaten fruit, sweat flying as he yells, "DOESN'T MATTER THOUGH, IT'S FILLING! WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THIS FRUITI IT TASTES LIKE SHIT!!" He gulps it down with a large "GULP" effect. The blond man, shirt open and muscles tensed, roars with intense motion lines, "I WILL WRITE THE GREATEST ADVENTURE BOOK EVER!!" In a close-up he shouts, "WILL YOU ALLOW ME TO HELP YOU BUILD ANOTHER SHIP!I" A flashback panel shows him kneeling before a grave marked "ACE," saying, "I'M DEEPLY SORRY ACE!! ONCE AGAIN... I KNOW IT'S PRESUMPTUOUS OF ME TO ASK, BUT..."

Ace's hat bursts into flames as he stares in confusion, asking, "...HUHI WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOUI" The blond replies, "I DON'T WANT ANY REGRETS EITHER" and "UH...." Ace stands dramatically, hat aflame and arm extended, while the blond panics in the background. A small creature yells, "ROLL IN THE DIRT! NOW!!" and "HOLD ON A SECOND..." Ace's body ignites fully; the blond screams, "AAAAA-AHHH!!! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!I YOU'RE ON FIRE!!" Ace looks at his flaming hand and says, "IT'S...NOT HOT!I" The blond cries, "THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!! HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MINDI!" while a bystander shouts "WHA-AT!!I"

Ace points forward with a blazing fiery blast erupting from his fingertip, wooden debris flying everywhere amid massive impact lines and "SPAM" SFX. The blond watches in shock. In close-up Ace smiles faintly and thinks, "IT SEEMS LIKE... A 'FIRE' ABILITY." The blond stares with wide eyes, speech bubbles reading "II" and "!!I" Ace turns away saying, "I HAVE A LITTLE BROTHER... WHO ATE A DEVIL FRUIT." The blond reacts with horror, "DON'T TELL ME THAT WHAT WE JUST ATE WAS..." Large vertical "CRACK" sound effects run down the side of the panel.

A massive fiery explosion erupts as Portgas D. Ace stands shirtless amid swirling flames and smoke, his body radiating intense heat. Nearby, Deuce and a small crewmate react with shock. "LOOKS LIKE ONLY THE PERSON THAT TAKES THE FIRST BITE GAINS THE POWER," Deuce notes. "BUT STILL, FINISH IT ALL! DON'T BE WASTE-FUL!!" he urges. "WHY ARE YOU SO NON-CHALANT ABOUT IT!I" another voice demands. Ace remains calm, a note clarifying he says "CURSE." In smaller panels, Deuce touches his face while thinking, "THIS WILL SURPRISE LUFFY," as the crew discusses their situation. "WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO ESCAPE..." one says. "IT'S MORE SUITED FOR COMBAT THAN RUBBER," another observes. Ace's fiery aura dominates the right side of the page.

The crew stands on a rocky shore as Ace's fiery power manifests into a massive flaming dragon-like entity rising from the sea. "IF WE CAN UTILISE THIS NEWFOUND POWER... WE'LL ESCAPE "THIS ANTLION"...!!!" Deuce declares. He sketches plans while seated, explaining, "WE CAN STRUCTURE OUR SHIP LIKE A PADDLE STEAMER." The fiery dragon coils upward with "BOOOM" effects. "WE'LL MAKE USE OF YOUR DEVIL FRUIT, ACE!" Deuce continues. "AND TO POWER IT, THREE PADDLE WHEELS. TWO ON THE SIDES AND ONE ON THE BACK," he details, showing a diagram of the mechanism.

The massive flaming dragon structure crashes violently into the ground with debris flying. Deuce stands atop the creature holding a mallet, instructing Ace, "YOU'LL HAVE TO SPIN THE PADDLES BY GENERATING JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF FLAMES." Ace runs alongside the beast breathing fire. A giant bird-like creature appears in the sky. "THAT GIANT BIRD STILL HAS THE NERVE TO COME BACK HERE..." Ace remarks. Deuce replies, "YEAH, EXACTLY... BUT WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOINGI" as Ace controls the flames. "SO ALL I NEED TO DO IS KEEP MY FLAMES UNDER CONTROL IN ORDER TO SPIN THE PADDLES FAST WITHOUT DESTROYING THEM, RIGHTI" Deuce confirms.

Ace and Deuce sit on rocks arguing playfully. "YOU SURE HAVE A SHARP TONGUE, WHY DON'T YOU LIKE ITI WOULD YOU PREFER 'GUY WITH MASK'I" Ace teases. "DON'T GIVE ME SHITTY PEN NAMES, YOU BASTARD!!" The scene shifts to a completed paddle steamer ship at night with narration boxes explaining: "THE SIZE DOWN; EVEN SALVAGING MATERIALS FROM THE WRECKAGE. ACE'S FIRE ABILITY WAS INSTRUMENTAL THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE PROCESS. AND RELATIVE TO OUR PREVIOUS ATTEMPT, WE MANAGED TO KEEP WHICH PROVIDED OUR SHIP WITH BOTH SPEED AND STABILITY. WE OBTAINED AN INCREDIBLE AMOUNT OF POWER." The final panel shows two hands clinking sake cups with the text "WAS DONE!!!" and "AND JUST BEFORE WE WOULD HAVE BEEN GONERS OUR SHIP..."

A massive wooden boat hull rests on a launch platform under bright sunlight, its mast wrapped in tattered cloth. Below, Portgas D. Ace stands in profile with a wide grin, declaring, "I LIKE IT!" Beside him, an unseen voice replies, "HMMM...SOUNDS GOOD!" In the next panel Ace, wearing his signature hat, questions the vessel: "STRIKERI" A masked figure with light hair answers from the side, "WHAT'S THE POINT OF SAILING ON A SHIP WITH NO NAMEI" Small sound effects and distant waves complete the scene as the two examine the nameless craft on the shore.

The Striker rockets across the sea at high speed, trailing fire and water as Ace and the masked man ride it. Massive waves crash around them while speed lines and impact effects fill the air. The masked man shouts, "BECAUSE SOON, THIS ISLAND OF MISFORTUNE... WILL COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR..." Ace, leaning forward with arms outstretched, calls back, "BETTER SAY YOUR GOODBYES NOW." A large narration box declares, "OVER THE HORIZON!" as the boat crests a towering wave and the island fades behind them.

The Striker bursts through the surf as the masked man yells, "AMAZING!! WE ACTUALLY MADE IT OUT!!" while Ace grins beside him. Suddenly a flock of large birds with sharp talons attacks from above, wings spread wide. The masked man reacts with shock, "THAT'S...!" Ace narrows his eyes and mutters, "HM-MM YOU THINK YOU CAN EAT US NOW THAT WE'RE AT SEA, EHI" Talons clash with the boat amid roaring sound effects and flying feathers as the birds dive aggressively.

A giant bird seizes the Striker's mast in its claws while Ace and the masked man cling to the craft. The masked man urges, "TOGETHER...WE WILL REACH THE SUMMIT!!" Ace is warned, "HEY ACE, DON'T BE RASH!! YOU'RE A DEVIL FRUIT USER NOW SO IF YOU FALL IN THE WATER..." and replies, "WELL, THAT'S WHY YOU'RE HERE!" The masked man extends a hand, shouting, "JOIN ME!!" Close-ups show Ace's intense expression as he activates his power, the panel reading "HIKEN (FIRE FIST)" while the masked man pleads, "LET'S MAKE THIS A DAY WE NEVER FORGET... YOU'RE INVITING ME TO BECOME A PIRATE IN THIS SITUATION!I I NEVER IMAGINED I'D MEET MY FIRST CREW MATE IN SUCH A PLACE! LISTEN TO ME!!"

Portgas D. Ace launches a devastating fiery punch. His right fist erupts in a massive white-hot explosion that tears through the air, sending shockwaves and debris flying. Ace, shirtless and muscular, wears his signature wide-brimmed hat with goggles and beads, his expression fierce as he drives the attack forward with his left fist clenched for momentum. The blast radiates outward in a starburst pattern against a stormy sky.

A masked man with light hair watches in shock as Ace's fiery fist attack continues. "A FIST OF FIRE...!!" he exclaims. "HE'S ALREADY IN CONTROL OF HIS POWER..." Below, Ace stands on a rocky outcrop, tipping his hat while the masked man declares, "MAYBE BECOMING A PIRATE... ISN'T A BAD IDEA. IT'LL CERTAINLY GIVE ME LOTS TO WRITE ABOUT..." The massive explosion scorches the sky, obliterating a large tree in a towering plume of smoke and flame marked *SCORCH*. Debris rains down as the ship rocks violently from the force.

Close-up of Ace and the masked man known as Deuce. Ace states, ""1" (ACE)" while Deuce replies, "I'LL STAND BY YOUR SIDE!!" Deuce continues, "I, WHO WAS ONCE UNNAMED, SHALL BE KNOWN AS "2" (DEUCE)". Narration boxes recount the formation of the Spade Pirates: "AND THAT'S THE TALE OF HOW THE SPADE PIRATES WERE FORMED. I DON'T WANT ANY UNCALLED-FOR ADDITIONS!!" "IT'S A GOOD PEN NAME, ISN'T IT..." "RIDING IN A FIERCE OCEAN FULL OF STRONG ADVERSARIES... GATHERING MEMBERS AS WE WENT..." On the deck under moonlight, crew members complain, "THIS IS A PARTY, DON'T BE SO STINGY!!" "YOU'RE THE ONE WHO SNEAKS OUT EVERY NIGHT TO EAT IT, YOU BASTARD!!" "WHY ISN'T THERE ANY MEAT!!" A torn wanted poster labeled "THE GRAND-LINE..." flutters nearby.

Inside the ship, Deuce writes in a memo book while crew members react to chaos outside. "A CERTAIN SOMEONE ALMOST BURNT THE SHIP" "I'M VERY SORRY..." "TODAYI YOU MEAN THE BOUNTY HUNTER ATTACKI" Deuce notes, "I FIGURED THAT BEFORE I FORGOT TO... I SHOULD WRITE DOWN THE EVENTS THAT TRANSPIRED..." Ace bursts in holding a barrel, shouting, "HEY DEUCE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING OVER THERE IN THE CORNER!I LIKE I SAID, IT'S A PARTY!!! HAVE SOME FUN!" Other crew discuss the new world and a recent island. Ace leans forward seriously, recalling, "WHEN WE WERE ON THAT ISLAND, I SWORE TO ALWAYS HAVE YOUR BACK... AND WHILE THAT WILL NEVER CHANGE..." A wanted poster lies on the floor. Ace declares with determination, "I'LL NEVER CHANGE MY MIND ABOUT MY AMBITION!" while gripping a barrel.

A close-up shows Whitebeard's stern face with a pipe as he reflects. In the background, a young crew member bursts through a door carrying a pie, exclaiming with excitement. Thatch appears holding a plate, declaring, "THE CHERRY PIE THIS MORNING WAS THE BEST!" He points and adds, "OI THATCH!" Another voice notes, "THERE'S A SPIRITED BRAT SAILING THE GRAND LINE." Thatch responds with a grin, "A COMPLIMENT FROM YOU!I I'M NOT SURE HOW TO FEEL... ZEHA HAHAHA, HEY, I'M JUST BEING KIND!" A hand clenches as someone mutters, "EXCUSE ME POPS." The chef presents medicine, saying, "HERE'S YOUR MEDICINE FOR TONIGHT." Whitebeard questions in a speech bubble, "HE TURNED DOWN AN INVITATION TO JOIN THE SHICHIBUKAII HOW LONG HAS HE BEEN A PIRATE FORI" The massive Moby Dick sails through stormy seas, its bow smashing waves as a torn newspaper fragment reads, "THE SECOND HALF OF THE GRAND LINE - THE NEW WORLD." Large impact SFX "BAM" and "DAM" punctuate the scene.

Young Ace smiles fiercely under his hat as two speech bubbles declare, "THE PIRATE KING!!!" and "I WILL SURPASS..." Debris flies with "BAM" SFX. A torn note states, "THERE'S NO TIME TO REST!"
